Sweet Sweets Empty Sweet Sweets

Post by Csilla Angelis Tue Sep 04, 2012 7:03 pm

There was something about a Saturday afternoon and sweets that seemed to go together. Unfortunately, Csilla was right out of sweets. She was half-tempted to visit the House of Pi, but she wanted to stock up. It was a quiet afternoon in Central; things were still picking up from the war, even though the city looked totally rebuilt. Csilla had decided for a girl's night in for herself. She had stopped at the local shop and picked up a few new movies, primarily girly in nature. She had also picked up some fixings to make lasagna as well as sparkling grape juice... no booze tonight. The last stop on her trip was a local candy shop, about two blocks from her apartment. It was old-fashioned, with a dark wood interior and shelves of delicious candies. They had everything from Amestrian favorites like Kinder and Haribo to Cretan Yorkie bars. Plus homemade salt water taffy, gum drops, hard candies... the options were endless. At the front of the shop was the glass containers, filled with fudge, truffles and so many other goodies. Csilla didn't visit this place often, lest she break her budget. But she loved it.

The shop was quiet when she entered, only a few other customers. It was family-owned and she noticed that the grandchildren were working that day. She waved at the youngest of the Lahm family with a smile. Then she was off to her first favorite aisle, the taffy. It wasn't something she indulged in often, but she felt she deserved it. After all, a girl's night in warranted something tasty! As well as chocolatey... Csilla glanced over at the counter, already musing as to what chocolate delight she would get herself for her dessert.

There are two things that Envy likes to do.

First one was getting rid of that walking trash that inhabited the earth. However, this activity contained a lot of restrictions and risks. As one can guess, this made it more difficult to engage in relieving murder.

Luckily for Envy, that second was much simpler to do. And that was the sole reason why he was in this particular store. He was in the same form (young asian man with blue hoodie) as few days ago, when he had been a part of an accidental gathering. This wasn't because he would have been lazy. It was because Envy had used this form every time he had visited this store. The reason? Well, some family-run stores had a tendency to be nice enough to give discounts for some pleasant, regular customers. And this shop was one of them. The fact that Envy had been in this form during the gathering was simply a coincidence.

Envy was currently standing in one of the aisles. His shopping basket was already halfway full, but he was still looking for more things to put in there. Buying in stacks was the best way to buy these things. They stayed fresh for a while, which made this way the most efficient when the person buying them wanted to avoid human interaction as much as possible. "Where the hell are they?" Envy looked around the shelf in front of him, both high and low. But the things he was looking for weren't there."They must have been moved". He quickly scouted nearest person on the same aisle. This was going to be annoying, but if it would make this trip shorter, Envy was willing to do so. "You wouldn't happen to know where the Toblerone are?"

Csilla was content with her salt water taffy selections. She had gone for the caramel apple, vanilla-caramel, cherry coke, orange, strawberry... well, needless to say she had gotten a lot. Taffy was long-lasting and she liked to stock up to get the best deals. It was scattered over the bottom of her basket; a soft and chewy pillow for her to pile her other purchases upon. She moved from the taffy aisle to the assorted candy bar aisle. She automatically grabbed at the Hershey's chocolate bar. Hershey's and Cadbury's were battling for dominance in Creta, but she'd always had a soft spot for the Hershey's. She was continuing her casual perusal when a voice revealed another presence in the aisle.

"You wouldn't happen to know where the Toblerone are?" She looked up from the candy she had been eying with a polite smile, one eyebrow slightly raised. “Hm?... Oh! Toblerone. They should be...” Csilla turned away from the polite man in the blue hoodie, scanning the aisle. She walked sideways down the aisles, slowly reaching the Amestrian candy section. She pointed with a bright smile. “There they are!” She glanced down at the assortment of Toblerone bars, deciding to swipe a couple of the small ones for herself. She looked up at the man with another polite smile. “They usually have the giant bars near the back of the shop, if you've got a really big craving.

Hm?... Oh! Toblerone. They should be...” The homunculus followed the girl's movements as she looked here and there. It was followed by the brightening of her face, a finger point and an announcement: “There they are!” It was annoying, but it could have been worse. Envy swiped himself a few ones once the girl's hand was out of the way. “They usually have the giant bars near the back of the shop, if you've got a really big craving.” "I'm fine like this". Without thanking the girl, he took a few other types of sweets as well and then moved onward. To be specific, his direction of movement was towards that display case at the end of the hallway, far away form the girl.

There were many colorful things in the display cases as well. Colorful, sweet things. However, display cases (made out of glass) were rather fragile things in stores like these. Humans may say otherwise, but they have a body mass of a car, do they now? And because they didn't have that problem, they probably didn't think it was normal for someone to open the case's lid very slowly. Not that their opinion mattered.

"I'm fine like this. Without so much as a 'thank you', he had grabbed some Tolberone and was gone down the aisle. Csilla looked after him for a moment, a small frown on her face. Well, that wasn't very nice of him. She shrugged her shoulders after a moment, returning to her own shopping. She supposed that not everyone was as nice as her. Csilla wandered up and down a few more aisles, still unsure about her final sweet purchase of the day.

When she emerged towards the back of the shop at the display cases, she noticed the guy she had helped... opening the display case? And really slowly at that. She raised an eyebrow. Didn't he know that those cases were to be used by employees only? Although... the Lahms were a little lax. Maybe they didn't mind? She moved to step around him, moving down a couple feet to the truffles. Her eyes roamed her options, although she did occasionally glance back over in Envy's direction. What a strange guy...
