This is the end I fear
Dear dedicated members,
I cannot begin to express my gratitude for everything that you've all done and everything that we've created together. It's amazing looking back and seeing what we've accomplished here, how much our writing has changed, how much we've grown. For just that, I feel like all of our work was worth something. Even if not everyone was here for the writing. What about the fun!?
Three years is a long time to have somewhere to go and write. Even if it is not tangible; MDA was definitely something. And I'm sure each and every one of you saw that. To those of you who stuck around, thank you. To those of you who didn't, thank you. I cherish everyone I met here--I cherish every post. Whether it's an outlet, a means of escape, a way to improve your skills, a place to meet new people from all over the place, or just another forum, it was great, wasn't it?
I've written this twice now. My first one was kinda funny. I really wanted to make you guys laugh--laugh so you can move on. But it turns out, when my computer randomly restarted and I lost that humor, it turned kind of sad didn't it? I think it's important to say goodbye.
All the memories, through thick and thin--down times, up times when we couldn't even clear pending, all I have to say is thank you. Together we crafted something so powerful, so inspiring, so moving. None of us did it alone. None of us were willing to give up. I saw it. Even when I was on the brink of just letting it fade away, there were enough of you still hanging on to drag me back and try again.
Stories end. We must face that as perhaps our last lesson MDA can teach us. I'm going to close the forum. I won't delete it; I'll just set it so that no one can really access it, but so that I can open it up again just in case. So sometime before December save everything that needs saving. Don't procrastinate. Keep it; it's yours. It's mine. It's all of ours. And it isn't nothing. Be proud. That dedication, those skills, everything there is something to truly, deeply cherish. At least I will.
So keep my on skype, keep me on facebook. I might forget who you are without the usernames, but remind me. I love you guys. Every one of you means something to me, has helped me--has helped others. We're in this together, and I don't want to lose any of you just because the finally page is turned. Is that selfish?
For now, I've begun something entirely new. I don't know how it's going to go--if it'll even go. Risks are worth it, I think. This new forum is very similar to MDA, however, it is not MDA. It's completely my own. But by 'my own' I mean that it is not something I inherited, but something I shaped myself. Already Ammy, Jay, Shinku, and a bunch of others are helping me with this. By helping, I actually mean building it with me. I've been really busy with Aikido lately, so I've been a bit vacant, yet in my vacancy, I realized that I need to write. Keep writing. Keep going. What about you?
