DESCRIPTION:
→ Going straight by looks, she sure is special, straight out overly flashy -in relation to being an art performer, who are usually considered rather flashy- and then some. Including her somewhat traditional-looking costumes; which she not only wears on stage but pretty much everywhere, that may seem a bit odd in modern-oriented regions. But regarding to bodily features, Yuuko is rather below average than anything. A simple face with wide eyes of yellow-golden-esque colour, a small, regular nose and lips of the same qualities. Alongside some facepaintings, which are part of, and thus related to, her costume of the day, that's is already pretty much it. Wait, no. Actually, there's also another, propably the most eye-catching, thing. We're talking about the kind of odd horn and the fan (or fans, almost all performances require two of them, so she carries two usually), of course. It's, exactly like the painted face markings, a core part of her artist's attire, that always stays the same, no matter what the rest of her dressing looks like. The exact meaning is, how else would it be, only known to those of the business themselves. Meaning: Puppet masters and Dancers of the same school. Not like there are still many of these around.
Anyways. Back to the original topic. Yuuko -as can be seen in the same glance as her face- has a, unrelated to age reasons because she's still young, silverly-white colour of hair. Said hair usually reaches down to waist height, sometimes even longer but never shorter then that. Two strands to the sides are kept separeted by use of hair ornaments (she's got MANY of these, but somehow, most look very similiar...). Attached to that head via some fragile neck is a body so well-kept, it's almost ridiculous. Propably close to zero unnecessary fat -or hardly anything visible between skin and bones, for that matter- make her look totally scraggy on first glance. But that's decieving. In reality, Yuu is propably more athlethically trained than most humans, and that's not only due to being a dancing artist, who has to be in shape.
When i say close to zero necessary fat, i really mean it. Nature was predictive enough to have Yuuko's upper body pretty much skip puberty by giving her the smallest size of bust a person can have and still be clearly assigned to one of the two genders. Of course this comes in handy for being athletic, a dancer and her 'actual' job as well. The reverse is true for the lower half. In terms of hips and thighs she pretty much got compensation for what she missed out up top. Wide, shapely hips and fitting tighs, perfect to swing and dance with, leading to, at least in relation to the rest of her, long legs. Usually she keeps herself in the best of shapes through all fields. Health, bodily fitness, flawless appearance, way of dressing, way of moving, talking and everything. Her whole appearance in public is pretty much a perfectly learned act. Smooth gestures, exaggerated body language, a perfect hip-swinging walk, precise control and knowledge over her own facial expressions (of course, a hard to categorize sort of mixture between a cruel, wicked and friendly smile is Yuuko's personal favourite; not only because it adds the perfect finishing touch to her overall impression). All of that is always under the Artists will, and thus creates a certain aura of cold unapproachbility and inviolability. Even though she uses to laugh a lot. Mostly because it's more of a manic and sometimes cruel laughter and not the enjoying, friendly type.
From details you won't notice from afar or the first instant you converse with her, back to more obvious matters. Like, her style and choice of clothing, for example. As mentioned before, the dancing Artist prefers traditional dresses of her trade, even offstage. Meaning, vest-like upper gear with long, wide sleeves, kind of like what one thinks of when referring to kimonos. For 'coverage', a piece of clothing that's hardly anything but a piece of ornamented cloth -not like she really needs any kind of support or neck straps here- is worn around the chest. Belly and as much hip as possible is visible with a good eighty percent of Yuu's clothing ('cause that's what you need to dress like, when you perform on stage and have people looking at you). From the waist down, the dresscode usually reminds one of traditional legwear, too. But instead of actual pants or a skirt or anything like it, just below the -mostly overly long and multiple- belt or belts, the cloth splits into high slits, overall it's more slit then skirtcloth, again to accentuate the bodily feature of legs and thighs for performance purposes. Naturally, top and bottom always are of one set andfit each other perfectly.
For overall style of clothing, Yuuko prefers simple coloured sets, usually in one main colour and decorated with elaborate golden, silver or whatever fits the base colour, ornaments at the seams, edges and sleeves. Most of said dress sets are made of silk or other luxurious, expensive materials. The only thing about clothing that hardly ever changes appearance though, is footwear. White toesocks with tied decoration worn over them. To finish that off, sandals who hold better to her feet than it looks, so she's not bare footed.

PERSONALITY:
→ The main part of Yuuko's personality is propably something no human would develop by themselves if they live a normal life and have a regular childhood. She, instead, got specially raised, trained and educated, because of being predetermined to take her fathers seat as head of "the agency" upon adulthood. And for that, one needs to be calculating, sometimes cold and harsh, strategic as well as charismatic at the same time, but also doubt- and reckless.
And so, that is what her father had in mind when he instructed nursemaids and staff about her education. They, clearly, did a thorough job. If Yuuko is anything, then it is fanaticly devoted to her country, her empress and her orders. But of course, she does in no way just follow blindly. Yuu is just as calculating and thoughtful as her parents hoped she'd turn out to become. She usually get's her will, succeeds in her missions and fulfills orders, but just as usually, she does it her own way. That is ever so often drawn in blood, about which she has no second thoughts of shedding it, if it is necessary. Does not feel nor sympathize for other people -at least not many others-, they are but pawns in her savage game and the grand total of the world. The zero tolerance for bloodshed also includes no restraints whatsoever about torturing -it is but a method of obtaining valuable information- or casualties of any kind.
But with all the carefully weighed education to shape her personality to fit her future perfectly, Yuuko still retains human emotional features. Such as joy. For a prime example, she does enjoy the fan dance and puppetry she'd been taught, even though it was also part of the custom-fit, premade outline of her life and things she'd have to do. Because every little girl likes dancing and playing with dolls, right? It's one of the few things that carried over to the current day, although being hardly shown in public. Unless she's in the "role" of being a traveling performer in the arts of dance and puppet mastery. Her acting is pretty damn perfect and one may almost feel like it's two different persons, meeting Yuuko upon different circumstances. Of course, the nice, cheerful – but still kind of remote- Yuuko is nothing more then part of her job, the act used to disguise herself if needed. But if she plays that role, her personality changes course by 180°. Suddenly, she's nice, smiles a lot and acts caring for others.
She didn't have to learn how to be nice, though. Yuu actually has a few selected people that are close to her, like, close friends or the likes. To whom she is not entirely cruel, but still, a kind of sociopathic base behaviour always stays with her. That mostly is notable in the way she words things out and emotional reactions, that generally fall way short, compared to those of other people, being rather collected and cold in nearly any case. Of course she does have, understands and can express emotional states, but the overall calculating, cold and cunning education takes it's toll on things that normally develop by themselves via growing up and learning.
A thing of hers, that's propably notable about her personality besides the repeating impact of dictated education, are two very uncommon behaviour patterns. One being, never to just chat. Any kind of information that may be given -by accident even- has to be thought over carefully. Information is the mightiest of tools, that Yuuko knows. So it's a policy of hers to always only give the minimum amount of details or even information at all to people.
Greatly just by that first "rule", the second unusuality came to happen. Yuu never ever, not even for the most minor of questions, answers to anything she's asked immediately. There is always a delay of at least three, sometimes even five or ten seconds to her responses. What may seem like a long, long time to think matters over, is in fact mostly there for psychological reasons. It unsettles the opposite person and creates a tension, almost a feeling of superiority, if an answer takes an almost unbearable amount of time to be constructed and given. And putting people under tension is usually a good way to keep the upper hand in a given situation. Just as well as it helps one to get information out of enemy men and women And, again, information is of the greatest value to a calculating and cunning person with a resolve for their business.
An odd bit of personality regards her -general- view of parents. It's kind of a love-hate relationship. For one, Yuuko feels pretty grateful to her family for givingher the opportunity to stand where she stands now, Lead of the Agency and everything. In short for the legacy her Father made possible by stepping down from his own post way earlier then was needed. But this is a two-sided medal. Exactly this legacy and everything that is connected to it nurtured feelings of anger and hate towards her family deep inside. Those feelings, mostly base in the fact and sensation that all Yuu ever was to her own parents was an investment into the future of the family name and business, but never a child or daughter as a human or person. So her perception of parents is vastly different then the one from most other people. Additionally, because of this she has a hard time grasping why and how people may have strong positive feelings for their family.
Lastly, the dancing assassin is strangely connected, almost addicted to her Doppelganger mannequin-marionette. This goes back as far as to when she was introduced to the whole marioneteering fan dance business in younger years during her training. She's really uneasy when her fake is not around, feeling a lot more vulnerable and even naked, although she's perfectly capable to take matters into her own hands, technically –if it ever came down to it- and knows this. Nevertheless it is a tic of hers, to have the perfect assistant, who does what he is instructed, no if's and but's, never eavesdrops, never prys about or disagrees, around.
LOVE:
→ Expensive, fancy costumes and dresses; performing fan dance and puppetry; bathing; spicy food; trees in bloom; dressing up the Doppelganger; subtle orchestral music; to have the upper hand
HATE:
→ Rice; rodents; unannounced interruptions; especially for bad news; unnecessary waiting; to be woken; traveling by train; unproducivity; being out-witted
DEEPEST SECRET:
→ Since she never had any time nor heart for it, Yuu is -even after making a faked move on some men for mostly order-related reasons- still without a first love and a virgin to boot. Often enough she's thinking about how life woud and could be if she was to go out and search herself a husband to live happily with. But she mostly thinks about it when on her very own and never actually mentions anything about these thoughts, not even to the closest of friends.
...........................................................................
HISTORY:
→ The first years in the life of a predetermined future aren't all that mentionable. By being born into a family of high importance and status, it was practically guaranteed that the heir to the family's name and business would be taken good care of. At least until Yuu, who was said heir, was old enough to be susceptible to educational measures and trainings of various kinds. Those being ordered by her parents, mostly the father, to make sure she would one day make a good successor to his position as head of the Shisu Ken (the Sheathed Sword). Which is a secret agency under direct orders of the Empire and Empress, usally deployed for undercover actions like intel gathering or assassinations that shall not be notaby connected to the Empire of Aerugo. It's head position was always given to a successor of the family name or someone of the current head's pick, but it was forbidden to promote agents into that seat, for secrecy reasons – since agents don't even know each other generally, but each one knows their lead.
And since Yuuko's old man was a man of action, and successful action only, he had arranged for certain things to make sure the legacy would carry on in the right way under the right character. These things included an exact education of the -back then- youg girl into a straightforward and little sympathetic, but rather a results-oriented, self-concerned teenager who had the mentality to do what ever their superiors ask her to. With that fundament set, once she turned old enough for physical exercises, the next stage was set in motion and her future became more outlined into what the family had planned. Thus meant, lessions in fan dance and puppetry play. At this time, Yuuko was around twelve years of age.
Each day after private lessions for the common things like, math, languages, history and the likes, there was also acting classes scheduled. At first, she hated them, but after the initial hardships were over with and first accomplishments were being made, the teenage girl started to like and even look forward to those lessions. All the more for that special day, when her puppetry instructor gave her the first marionette her father had custom-ordered for her training. Before, she'd only practiced basics of pulling the strings in the right way and movements, not even using any puppet mostly and if she was allowed to, it was but a simple wooden jointed doll. So the actually human-looking, about a meter tall doll, shaped like a commonc child, was about the best thing Yuu had ever experienced as long as she remembered. This totally upped the interest of hers for the whole dancer and puppeteer thing and she started devoting herself to it with incredible dilligence, even compared to her base level of devotion to stuff because she was educated to it. Over time, more dolls and joined mannequins were added to her personal army, to accomodate for more complicated maneuvers and different playstiles as well as just the growing up actress. But even with over a dozen marionettes to pick from, the original one is still her most prized possession.
A similiar story can be told about her dancing and acting. Again, only the best of the best were chosen for her instructors and again, it all started out as nothing but a drag she hated. With time came training however, and after the flow of movements and basic acting practices started getting to her, she -again- started to like it with every small archievement made. So the upcoming dancer and actress put more and more effort into it whenever she wasn't training for the puppetry or had other courses and stuff scheduled for her by various nursemaids or instructors. And improved ever more over time. Not because she had to, like her father worded it, but because she wanted to. At this point, she wasn't even thinking about taking over her father's place at one time in the future. She was just about the art performing and training she'd been given.
So the years carried on with little else beside lessions in everything she would need in the future. Upon turning seventeen, however, basic school lessions were wiped off her schedule, and so were the dancing and ventriloquy practices. Yuuko had, if one were to belive her master of the art instructors, almost mastered that what could be learned by teachings and would have to learn the rest by experience. Which signaled the last phase of her life-training. The drill into spying and assassinations. Of course, she herself didn't actually like the though of it all, but nevertheless she played along, because that was what her subconcious told her, based on education.
The future head of Shisu Ken was thus instructed in many forms of combat, with and without weapons, daily, from getting up in the morning until going to bed in the middle of the night. All her life consisted of was combat training sessions and instructions on sneaking techniques, how to kill people in a silent, quick manner and the likes. Despite not really looking forward to what may become of her when the instruction period of her life would end, the young girl soaked everything that was theoretical up like a sponge and practicing everything that was practical experience until she'd break down. Eventually, the second thoughts about the wrongs or rights of the whole spying and assassination business started to fade and were gone entirely long before Yuuko had finished her training in those arts as well.
In all this time of training and education, she had hardly no time for any social contacs, friends or anything of that matter. Only on rare occasions was she allowed to go out and do things one does in their free time. Instructors feared, too many things like friends and social contacts may break the carefully shaped ideology that had been instilled into the girl`s mind over all the years in preparation of things to come. So she was enssentially missing any kind of distinct social skills besides what she'd learned from sociology and psychist books. For a regular person that might have been horrible, but the social lack augmented her cold self even further, much to her parents delight.
But "hardly" didn't totally exclude everything. There was one thing she personally persuaded in her free times. Some years back, so mostly in her own younger years, she sometimes managed to get herself into trips to events of musical performance. It was most interesting, mainly because it was vastly different from the musical performance she was thaught to dance and puppeteer to. Most interested, for no other reason then liking it, she'd been into a rather fresh band by the name of TRACE, originating from the town of Takayama. One more then just an occasion, Yuuko made chance and upon meeting the members now and then off the stage, she eventually got closer friends with their bassist girl – Harumi Tsukino. As life goes, for an unsocial character like Yuu, she was about the only "outside" person she'd had any closer contact with. Going as far as using every opportunity between various training sessions and teachings to visit their place and meet up with Rumi (after all, a need to socialize in a normal way is just natural for even the most distorted human personalities).
So, naturally, the upcoming dance artist was deeply hit by the exclusion of her only best friend from TRACE for promotional reasons. By that extent, Yuu rarely ever saw her again, which in turn was not making it any better. Nevertheless, when she heard about the catastrophic earthquake in Takayama region, she was worried to no end and pulled a few strings with the more human of her instructors and family to at least get information on the damage and victims. She'd learnd by this way, that Harumi indeed made it out of the deathtrap alive and that some Empire personalities were involved, but any more detailed information were not leaked. But at least Yuu knew, her only friendly person still lived out there and once she could get out of the cage that was lessions and training, she'd look for her if the opportunity would present itself. Little did she know, she would -in the future- be closer to Rumi than she ever expected at this point. Only upon promotion into the head position would Yuu realize her childhood friend was made Empress.
Talking about parents, Yuu hardly had any contact with them. Soon after birth, she had been taken out of her family's residence and was taken to a nursemaid to take care of her until she was, again, moved to a different place. A secluded place where she would live, learn and be trained by her instructors every day. At some points troughout the years, her father would stop by and brief her about the future course of the training and such. But that was pretty much all they ever had to do with each other. They did not celebrate any holidays or birthdays or anything. The only met for the most important "business reasons", sometimes it even was only communication via messages in letters or phone.
One time she met with her father in person was, when he'd decided it was time to officially end her instruction and put her into the job. That day, she was summoned to her familys main residence for the honours, which she hadn't actually seen nor been at in over twenty years. The meeting was rather uneventful. With just a handful of apparently important people around -who all remained unnamed, for whatever reason- the newly ascended contract killer and spy sat opposite of her father. And all he said was "Yuuko, you are as far as any master can get you on your way. Your training is hereby completed and i have your first orders here. It will be a test of all that we've been teaching you in the past decades, just like any job you may take under this agency in the future. As a final gift for your way, i have ordered for the best craftsmen to construct something you may find useful for this task. Upon sucessful return, a legacy will be waiting for you to take it." He didn't ask a thing and dismissed the meeting almost on the spot. Yuuko was shown to her room. The door moved out of the way, and she was seriously irritated. In the middle of the spacious room, she had been assigned to for the day, she saw what seemed to be herself, in the naked.
It took her a while to realize the whole deal, but sure enough, it was a joined mannequin, able to stand up straigt on its own, shaped in her image almost perfectly, all it missed was the "life" in her eyes and the bodily warmth. It must have been the thing she might find useful, since she was a trained puppeteer after all and was even instructed how to use one and it's strings to take out humans.
So her first actual orders. Yuuko wasnt too sure about it, but confident in her skills. So she took off for the mission just the next morning, after fiddling around with with newest member of her personal puppet army all night to know the ins and outs and getting it dressed.
The order was rather simple. It was only about removing a certain minister from his position in the embassy because he'd voiced opinions not to the gouvernments liking a few times too often in the past. It was a task, almost too easy for a test of skills. All she really had to do was wait for an opportunity when he was on his way to somewhere late one evening, and then had the Doppelganger jump in front of the car, generating a false run-over accident. First, the driver got out, to take a look at who he'd just ran over and if the person was injured. Little did he know, the casualty was immune to pain and injury, instead it almost jumped and restrained him. With a skilled swing of the wrist by Yuuko, one of the piano wires used to maneuver the mannequin spun around the drivers neck, she didn't think twice about it, this was just like training with the dummies before. Pull the wire tight for a good minute and everything will solve itself. So again, before she realized, this time it was not a dummy, but some innocent bystander, the wire was on tension and after a few moments of gurgling, choking sounds, the man's body went limp. So the puppet let go as it was instructed to and headed for the fat, bald guy who just now got out of the car to check what was going on in the pitch black darkness, only interrupted by the car's headlights. All he saw was a silhouette in a coat and then, cold darkness took firm hold of his face. Instinctively, he started kicking and punching after the body on the other end of the arm but it seemed to not care the tinyiest bit about the struggle.
Yuuko watched the two shadows, the fat one's head in the firm grip of the other, for a few seconds from the side of the street, behind the corner of the wall from a property along the road. Fatty helplessly struggled on and kept hitting the fake human over and over, muffled screams forcing their way out from under the puppets artificial hand that covered his face fo the most part. Another second of second thoughts went by for Yuuko, while she watched this helpless fatass -who'd been living a luxourious life off the Empires money for the longest time- struggle for his life. The longer she imagined him resting his fat ass in a leather chair in some office, earning money from the Empire he actually seemed to oppose so much, the more disgusted she felt about him. How could he? Her fanatism for the Aerugese Empire got the better and her and the next instand, she had released the restraint that kept the doppelgangers left hand blade retracted with as much as a movement of her pinky and thus it sprang forward. It pierced clean trough his eye socket and the brains behind it, the former minister didn't even have time to feel pain or scream before he died. If she managed to get away from the left alone car and two dead bodies unseen with the bloodied puppet in tow, she would have sucessfully carried out her first assassination. And, reflecting on it during her escape, it was not actually all that bad. In fact, it was a satisfying feeling to do a service to the Empire's needs. In the end, she felt joy in her first murder.
