A cool evening and the sun was just starting to set, covering the sky in its orange and pink shimmering blanket. A breeze that smelled like fresh roses blew over Valentino like a wave, engulfing him, running through his smooth black hair like the finest comb. Valentino breathed in deeply, savoring the crisp fresh air as he walked down the cobblestone street towards his favorite hangout. The soft clack of his shoes echoed through the almost empty street. Finally, Valentino was off duty and could use a much needed pick me up of the highest of orders. Wine. It was his one and only vice, picking him up when he was down. A warm smile crept onto his face as the sign that read "Starry Night Lounge" slowly but surely came into view. After a few more brief moments, he was at the old wooden door, that was specifically crafted for this wonderful establishment. Now, only the door stood between him and total relaxation. He grabbed the ornate handle and pulled, a multitude of aromas ran at him at once the most prominent being alcohol. He walked in to the dimly lit one room restaurant, nodding his head slightly to the bartender, signalling him to bring him the usual. The place was relatively small, a few round tables in the middle of the floor, booths on the sides and a bar at the far end, opposite of the door. The place wasn't that crowded, maybe ten people, all chatting away and enjoying the place. Valentino sat down at his usual table, a booth, in the left corner of the place where a waiter promptly brought him two glasses and an entire bottle of wine. Sauvignon Blanc 1942, his fovorite. Valentino began pouring his glass, admiring its smooth almost yellow color as it fell gently into his glass. Looking at the other glass, empty, just like the seat in front of him, wondering where the person he was supposed to meet was.

CRASH! A window was busted. The terrifying woman known as Avalon had destroyed a building while threatening some punk within an inch of his life. Cocky people pissed her off (as did many things) and she simply wanted to blow off some steam. Her body was dressed in something odd for her, a pair of jeans and a hoodie. Indeed, fine dine dress for a meeting with the only other guard that didn't just stand around and 'react'. What an odd bunch of characters. She beat them senseless and they just.. never really responded. Today, she had one on one time with the asshole whom hated her. So why did he ask her here on a 'date' of all things. Though it wasn't really a date, he was just a fancy, rich asshole.

Once done threatening the citizen, she made her way to the restaurant. Her hips sashayed with each step. A man escorted her to the table, where she ploped in and leaned forward with her eyes glaring into his. "What did YOU want?"

She finally had arrived. Her arrival was signaled not only by the flickering of the candle on the table from the door opening, but also from the turning of heads as she walked by. She was a sight to behold, very attractive. Once again, in the most god awful outfit imaginable. Valentino scoffed slightly as he watched a waiter escort her to the table. Valentino set his wineglass down gently. She was Avalon Summers, a Royal Guard just like Valentino. Avalon was destructive, loud, violent and most of all, unfashionable. Avalon sat down directly in front of Valentino and leaned forward, glaring into his eyes. "What did YOU want?" She spat through her teeth, a spitting cobra. Yes, she was a cobra, and her words, venom. Valentino smirked at her, she was already angry! Avalon was a truly remarkable person albeit that he can only handle her in small doses. "I want to get to know you a little better." Valentino said, his own dull crimson eyes stared back into hers, searching for something, but he didnt know what.

"I want to get to know you a little better." Well that sounded wrong. He must have wanted something. What it was she wasn't sure, but the two of them rarely talked. Thy were opposites. Avalon was awesome, while he was a stick in the mud. At least that was HER perception of it. This man rarely had anything fun to say or do and often times it left her palate a bit dry and her mind rather annoyed. He needed to loosen up. Her golden eyes stared back into the crimson ones that analyzed her violent and raging soul beneath the skin. Her eyes glared at him while her legs kicked up beside his seat.

"Wanted to get to know me more? You must be delirious." Her voice boomed while she looked over the menu and debated on what to eat Then, remembering how she dislike eating anyways, she would toss the menu on the table. Her look rather annoyed under the mass of wavy and messy teal hair. A red mark over her nose and a scar briefly flashed under a clump of bangs. Her whole being seemed rather annoyed. This man never wanted anything to do with everything she was. She manifested a strength he could never achieve if he begged gods for it. Avalon was just blessed. Her hands tapped the table impatiently, still staring down the stubborn and arrogant man. "what did you want to know?"

Valentino felt a thump on the seat as a pair of old raggedy sneakers appeared on his seat next to him. He looked at the sneakers for a moment, and his eye twitched ever so slightly. Valentino was trying to keep his calm demeanor but on the inside he was freaking out. Those sneakers are dreadful!! She has no manners whatsoever! How is it possible that one so attractive could be such a pig! I mean, come on! This must be some sort of cruel joke that is being played on me! Where is my mother, she must be the one behind this! Ohh! When i get my hands on that over-privileged hag.... All of this happened as he looked at the sneakers. Valentino calmed himself quickly and looked back at Avalon, trying to ignore the monstrosities that she called "shoes"

"Wanted to get to know me more? You must be delirious." Avalon said, again, the venom sprayed directly into his eyes. Valentino stayed calm, not wanting to let this "Date" turn sour. All of his instincts wanted to punch her in the face simultainiously but Valentino reigned in his emotions quite masterfully. Avalon looked at the menu briefly and then threw it back on the table. Was she boycotting food? Is that how she kept such a figure? "what did you want to know?" She added, she was visibly annoyed. Valentino stared back at her and said "Have I done something to upset you Miss Avalon?" His dull crimson eyes once again searching inside of her for something, this time they narrowed slightly showing his irritation.

"Have I done something to upset you Miss Avalon?" The man had the audacity to ask such an obvious question? Everything about him pissed her off. All snobby, rich boys did. This one was pretty too, so it wasn't like he had to WORK for everything he got, not like Ava. Ava poured her heart and muscles into her each swing that landed her where she was. Though it was a pure streak of luck that one such man was an enemy to the Leader man and had tried to attack. That was a separate situation entirely. She had earned her title through violent bashing with her trusty bat of truth. Her hand clutched it and she sighed softly, debating on how to respond to this knucklehead who thought so highly of himself.

"Yes. You and I are complete opposites. We both know this by now. I don't see why you want to make amends with me when in the past we've done nothing but disagree. In fact explain to me why I shouldn't just tear your spine out right now?" Her words were sharp and somehow blunt. A sword thrown at one hundred miles per hour she guessed while her golden hues glared daggers at him. A hand on the table, the other cupping her chin. She awaited his answer somewhat impatiently. She felt there was nothing about this man she could ever like. Stuck up, no fun, boring. All of the words she hated described him. In the short period of time she'd known him, all they did was argue. Though she was a bit of a brute (she could admit proudly) she did not like arguing with her partner. So most of the time she would just avoid him and those judgmental red eyes. After all, every judgment given was one received. Whatever the case was, Avalon knew Wolfgang loved her most, no matter how much Valentino hated her.

Valenitno's normally ice-cold blood finally began to boil. After all that the two had been through together, after all of that, she still had the audacity to hate him or rather, not trust him. "Yes. You and I are complete opposites. We both know this by now. I don't see why you want to make amends with me when in the past we've done nothing but disagree. In fact explain to me why I shouldn't just tear your spine out right now?" Avalon said, her words turned sharp, still coated with venom that sent a tingle down his spine and stoked the smoldering embers that were his anger. She was so bashful, criticizing him at every turn! For what!? All Valentino wanted was to understand his partner better, but NO! Avalon just would not let her walls come down and let him in. Valentino had had enough! Valentino stood up abrubtly and slammed his palms against the table. All eyes in the restaurant turned and stared at the two Royal Guards and all other conversations stopped. "After all we've been through, after all of that, youre still going to treat me this way!? I can't believe it. Youre a real nasty piece of work, you know that?" Valentino's melodic voice boomed, his crimson eyes began to burn with fury.

"After all we've been through, after all of that, youre still going to treat me this way!? I can't believe it. Youre a real nasty piece of work, you know that?" He practically threw his body at the table. Palms smashing hard into the wooden surface. Oh she was a nasty piece of work? It took one to know one. Her rage boiled more.

Oh no. He did NOT just. AT first she was angry. Rage fuming in her eyes. He was so.. damn.. stubborn. Why couldn't he see the act that even if he stopped to talk, she probably wouldn't understand. He was from a whole different world from her. his life, spent sucking on a silver spoon. She was from the world where hard work barely gave money to eat. She had love though. A loving, though rageful, family. Her brother was gone now and shortly after her father followed and now.. well her mother was dead. Avalon never felt more alone and it made her bitter. Bitter to the world in general for throwing her in the waves of such terrible chaos. Her eyes dipped sadly and then she laughed.

She was being unkind to the man. Her words mainly from her own internal pain. She had to be strong and her anger made her stronger. He was just the unfortunate fool who was in front of her. "You're right. However, you constantly judge me and my ways without knowing me, so it kind of makes it difficult to speak to you."

Valentino saw as a flicker of sadness flashed across Avalon's face. Had he been the cause? Valentino immediately felt badly for yelling at her even if it was slightly justified. He felt the prying eyes of everyone in the restaurant. Valentino turned his head and saw the faces of everyone in the place, some still had their wine glasses up, mid-sip. "What the fuck are you morons looking at!? Go back to stuffing your greedy little pie-holes!" Valentino yelled. Valentino then sat back down and took a deep breath. "You're right. However, you constantly judge me and my ways without knowing me, so it kind of makes it difficult to speak to you." Avalon continued, her words stabbed him, but not like before, this time they hit his heart. It's true, he judged her and without reason. It was the same treatment he got when he got to the dance academy. Valentino didn't understand why he judged people so harshly, it just wasn't right. "You're right, I judge you just like those assholes judged me back at the Dance Academy; it's not right. I really don't know why I'm so judgemental, I'm sorry. I guess i'm dumping all of my repressed feelings from my horrible childhood onto other people. I hope you can forgive me." Valentino said, his voice shook slightly, unable to pass through a lump in his throat. His eyes looked down at the wood table, ashamed.

"What the fuck are you morons looking at!? Go back to stuffing your greedy little pie-holes!" Well, that was interesting. Her eyes widened and she looked at him twice just to make sure she was seeing this straight. He was screaming at the men. Her eyes were upon him in disbelief. Was this really happening? Her eyes watched him with intrigue. This was certainly different as a situation. Her eyes watched him and she would blink a few times. She was definitely interested more in this man.

That was certainly not what she had expected. Her eyes were a bit widened, curious onto how he would further impress the woman whom seemed never impressed. Wait? Dance academy? She was further interested. A bit of the thought rolled in her mind and she contemplated what to say. "You dance?" Was about all she could manage in her state of shock and awe. She never pegged the man for a dancer, but it was something that was of Avalon's interests. Perhaps he would amuse her, maybe not. Either way, she was relatively curious to this man's dancing.

Valentino picked his head up, removing his gaze from the fine wooden table steering it towards Avalon's face. He watched almost hopelessly as Avalon's facial expressions seemed to change faster than the speed of light. It was very difficult for him to pinpoint what she was feeling, it made him slightly uneasy. Had he said too much? "You dance?" Avalon said, almost confused. Valentino smiled softly, his burning crimson eyes started running out of things to burn and so they softened, looking at Avalon, almost shyly. "Yes, I do." He said, as he extended a gloved hand to Avalon, smiling at her sweetly

He shifted his gaze. From glaring at the table, she could see him change his pupils to take in her own expression. It left her wondering what he was thinking. Did he curse her in his mind? It was likely. The eyes of this beast had found themselves upon his own. So dangerous; they looked as if they would eat him whole. Most people wouldn't look twice at her, because of her grubby looks and violent ways. No one could blame them. Avalon was prone to tantrums that made her beat people senseless or destroy restaurants in one standing. Yet the rage she felt replaced the normal pain people felt. A broken family, a broken home. Then... the secrets she had to hold.

An animal gnawed at her stomach. The waves of torture beating her around more than anyone would ever know. However, she didn't have an option a world of live or die and guilt ate her alive. A kind smile and he offered his hand. Ava looked at him, a bit confused by his efforts. Why did he bother trying to get to know her? It wasn't like it would change anything. When the time came it was a world of fending for yourself as compared to the ideal of world where partners actually helped one another. Maybe he genuinely believed that this was something that could be changed. Rewritten and erased from histories. A fresh page to make a new story and though she wasn't sure of it at first, she found no reason NOT to trust him at the moment. Besides, one wrong move and she would just kick him in the nuts.

"Yes, I do."
His crimson eyes shone with the true love of dancing mixed with what she assumed to be an invitation. What was the appropriate response? She moved her hand.. slowly to reach for his. What would this decision entail? She could only wonder.

Avalon's hand slid softly into Valentino's palm. It was so soft. Strange, for one so violent her hands were surprisingly soft. The instant Avalon's hand slid into his Valentino's heart began to race. He stood up slowly, and offered a smile to Avalon and then gestured to her with his other hand to follow him. The were going to be headed to a backroom, where nobody else would be able to see him dance. Because in truth, he did not ever want to be in the spotlight as a dancer ever again. Dancing was the worst thing and also the best thing that has ever happened to him. Valentino's face was like a river stone, flawless and cold. As the two entered the room the people who were in the private band would begin to scramble to their instruments, pretending that they werent goofing off on the job. Valentino finally stopped in the center of the room.

Avalon didn't fight the man. There was no need to. They were mostly on the same team, so there wasn't a reason in the world on why she should fight him. At the moment though, she could almost feel a tinge of something more than he was showing. Valentino never gave way to his emotions; his face never changing, but a smile had slipped on his lips and Avalon, she could only blush a bit. What made the man so.. cold to the world? Was his life a hell she didn't know of? Ava knew a hell, for sure, but everyone had their own. For some it was the night time where the sun was away and others it was where they worked. Everyone grew out of their fears at some point and a new hell would be made. Surviving the circles is what made them, who they were.

Her wondering mind was hesitant as she was tugged to her feet. It had been a while since she shared a dance with anyone. Most people fleeing from her very area, terrified of her rather aggressive demeanor and her 'no bullshit' rule. She didn't handle much before she snapped on people. They were ignorant and if they didn't hear her the first time, that was their own damn fault. Ava felt not a tinge of guilt when a man was bludgeoned for not getting the answer 'no.' However, this night was different. Avalon didn't feel really angry, per-say but instead she felt.. genuine. There wasn't any pain.

For some reason, she followed Valentino to the backroom. Whatever that reason was, she couldn't be sure. There would be rumors flying next and she knew that well, but giving this man his chance was more than needed. She'd been harsh to him and she knew it but.. arrogant people pissed her off and she just couldn't help it. Once in the room, her eyes found that they were standing in the center where a band was streaming music soon enough. It made her wonder.. how many women did he bring back here? The thought tugged at something in her stomach which irritated her. If this man was playing her a fool, she wasn't going to have it. Her eyes showed it as she turned to face it. Fire behind the pupils. If he was stone, she was raging fire and lightning. "Yer own private studio, hm?" She quirked a brow, almost challenging him to make a wrong answer.
