Welcome to South's finest[?] Empty Welcome to South's finest[?]

Post by Guest Fri Mar 30, 2012 5:10 pm

Nika sighed heavily to herself as she gazed out towards the deep blue shifting waters of South's famous lake, carried ashore by a cool gentle breeze. Her own dejected breath was inaudible to her, as was the breaking of waves upon the rocks, the cry of the gulls that circled overhead --all of which she assumed were there, as she could not hear them herself. She hadn't heard a damned thing for the past few months, aside from the ringing in her ears and the throbbing in her head --that was so painful that she might as well have heard it-- that persisted for the first few weeks in the rehabilitation center in Central. A rehabilitation center: How laughable. The entire notion had made Nika sick to her stomach and tremble with a mixture of anger and bitterness. Everyone tried hard to console her, to help her cope with this... this.... disablity, but it was all a pointless attempt. She was deaf, suffering from complete noise-induced hearing loss. Despite all the therapy and mandatory relaxation they put here through, there was not getting around the fact that she couldn't be so easily fixed. The best they could do was try and teach her some sign language, but that only frustrated her more, and she elected to sleep her days away to numb herself from the harsh reality of her permanent disability.
The truth seemed simple enough: She was broken. She made a fatal mistake on the battlefield and now had no use as an Amestrian soldier. She had nowhere to go; She had no place in the military and no place at home. Not that she would go back home anyway. To go crawling back to her parents in that disgusting home in such a broken and miserable state....she'd rather kill herself. In fact, she had considered offing herself a few times while locked up in that rehab center she was dumped in. It had honestly seemed inevitable: She'd end it all as soon as the world forgot about her. She had come to accept such a fate with an eerie calmness. There was nothing left for her in this world after all, it seemed, so she had given up
Yet, despite everything, despite the bleak tribulation she faced, she was given another chance. A transfer to South HQ, where she now stood just outside the complex of buildings near the shore of the lake. It seemed Commander Ito had pulled a few stings for her sake once again. Before it was to give her a shot at rising the ranks at Briggs --A chance that she had managed to blow in less than a year-- and now a chance to simply keep a position in the military at all. Ito had done so much for her since she joined the armed services that it was impossible to pay him back in this lifetime. Nika couldn't expect to have anymore than a job at a desk, filing papers and signing documents, away from any actual military work. Away from the training grounds, firing ranges and drills which she was unfit for. A simple job simply to keep her there seemed like an empty future, but she couldn't reject it, it was all she had now.
So with another unheard sigh, the dark haired Drachman girl turned away from the lake's shore and slowly trudged on to the base.

The inside of the base was well kept; Clean and pristine --as expected of a military base that wasn't even a year old. The entire city was new, which attracted a lot of migrants and tourists, it seemed. The infamy of the disappearance of the first South City did not seem to hamper these newcomers --especially in the wake of the destruction of the other major cities last year.
And so this newcomer navigated the sunlit labyrinth of halls of the main building, towards the offices of higher officers, and in particular, the office of Commander Brighton. Commander Shula Brighton was the person she was supposed to meet with, who would introduce her to her new position in South HQ and get her accommodated and set. Strange for one of the major generals of Amestris, but maybe she was the sort of person who preferred to do certain things herself, rather than leave it up to others. Either way, it was a privilege to be able to meet her new commanding officer so soon after her transfer, even if the prospect of trying to introduce herself and 'speak' with her was less than comforting in her present condition....

After a few minutes of searching, Nika had found Commander Brighton's room. Set off from the rest, a polished wooden door with a golden plaque labeled "General Brighton" stood ajar. Glancing around, Nika searched for anyone who might be able to direct her inside, rather than knock herself, since she would not be able to hear any response from within if she did, but the halls seemed rather deserted for the moment. Hovering just outside the door, eyes focused on the opening, Nika mulled over the idea of waiting around for someone to walk by, but instead decided that it would not be so favourable to act so helpless, and with a deep breath, she pushed the door open.
Inside, she found what she at first thought to be something more akin to a therapist's office, rather than a military officer's. Around the room were countless potted plants, a verdant collection of green plants and colourful flowers, all illuminated by the sun that streamed in through the wide open windows that lined the wall opposite of Nika. At first glance, Nika could not help but contemplate the stark contrasts of South HQ compared to the artificially lighted, closed frozen corridors of Briggs. South was a more relaxed climate though, no doubt that justified sending someone like herself down here, where she could "relax and recover", and basically refrain from being a burden in combat. Finding the room to be devoid of any living thing other than the small garden that occupied it, Nika found a stray chair near Brighton's desk and seated herself upon its cushion to wait tautly for the arrival of her new commanding officer. As minutes slipped by, she found herself gazing out the wide windows, out into the shimmering water of the lake. The warmth of the sun lit her skin and somewhat eased her tense body. For a brief moment, Nika imagined that she was by the lake again, and could hear birds singing in the trees along with the chant of the water churning with the breeze. Her eyes slowly shut as she soaked in the sun's warmth, and briefly, her mind vanished into the eternal silence.

Welcome to South's finest[?] Empty Re: Welcome to South's finest[?]

Post by Guest Sun Apr 01, 2012 12:07 am

A cab pulled up to the front of Southern HQ. A few moments after the door clicked and swung open. Peering out into the new base of the south was none other than Jericho Cross. As he stepped out his red hair seemed to flare in the sunlight as it move with a light wind blowing through it. He quickly paid the cab driver and sent him on his way. Taking a quick glance over the head quarters, he guessed it would do. It was rather beautiful, and perhaps after a little time something more. But, those were thoughts for later, for now he would be meeting the one who he would now call his leader. He had perused the woman's file. She was a rather cutesy general compared to the others. Shula Brighton, yes, that would be the new person he would gladly take his orders from.

He began walking into the head quarters with a little skip in his step, whistling as he did. It was sure going to be an interesting endeavor. Little did he know, it was going to be far more interesting than he had planned for. He made his way up to the office of the South's ever well known general. Walking up to the door he simply pushed his way in, expecting to see the general there but, she wasn't. However he did see someone just as interesting to him if not more. It had been a while so it did take him a second to figure out who she was. Then the name hit him, "Veronika," he wwhispered, hatching a ever devious plan to surprise her.

He began sneak up to her, unbeknownst to him, it was rather unneeded. When he was close he simply looked her over once to confirm who he had thought it was. To his delight it was indeed Veronika. He simply seated himself next to her without a word. No need to wake her from her rather obvious day dreaming. At least... not now. No, instead he would wait tell she came back to the real world, or until Shula showed up. Either or, it was no matter to him .

”Private! Do you have those files for the general yet?”

”N-not yet, m’am!”

Isabella sighs, glaring at the young man. ”I swear, the next time this happens…”

”Reports, Lieutenant Colonel,” one of the other soldiers says, handing over a sizeable stack. ”Prepped and ready to go to the Brigadier General.”

”The private could learn a thing or two from you, Zaiir,” she says quietly, taking them from him. ”Keep an eye on things while I’m gone.”

Making a swift exit from her the public area of her department, she begins her trek through the new-ishly built South Headquarters. Everything was nice and clean and… and strange. She had picked up the layout quickly enough, but there was something she missed about West City’s headquarters. Certainly not Jet, but… There was always a smell of oil and machinery lurking around. South was just a glorified outpost to protect a giant lack with a pointless navy. Though, some things never changed, like her lack of association with anyone around her. Hell, how she’s managed to avoid the Brigadier General for so long is probably a wonder in-of itself. Just hiding in plain sight, and sneaking into the office when she wasn’t around. Annoying, but by no means complicated. Walk past the office staff while looking straight ahead, ignore them like you have something more important that you’re taking care of, and slip into the office undetected…

Closing the door behind her, her eyes snap directly to a pair of people. Fuck. Taking a deep breath, she walks to the desk, puts the folders on the table, pivots, and tries to make her escape.

”Hopefully,” she thinks, ”this’ll work.”

Welcome to South's finest[?] Empty Re: Welcome to South's finest[?]

Post by Shula Brighton Tue Apr 03, 2012 5:21 pm

Seriously, if it wasn't one thing it was another. It was bad enough she was agreeing to come in on a day off to work rather than catch up on her own work, or do what she actually wanted and drive up for the day... That came with being the head of the base, she supposed. But really, if that was wasn't enough, Spade had hidden her uniform from her. Sure, there was a note about it being at the cleaners still, but dammit she knew he did that on purpose, especially since it came with the little yellow sticky note. Though they weren't daily anymore, the little notes for tips for how to live made smling a little easier, and sometimes they made the day really enjoyable. Her uniform was at the cleaners, but in its place was a lightweight sari in the colours of the Amestrian uniform. No room for rank or ribbons, which made it even better. That got a smile for sure. Not that she wore them anyway, but at least this had a legit reason to not wear them; several meters of fabric wrapping around her and covering a choli wouldn't work with a lot of random kibble.

Ah well, at least today she could come into work comfy today because of it, and relaxing a little felt really nice. Shula bounced slightly as she walked throught eh halls of South, going obver the to-do list on her phone. Reports stamped off? Check. Go over spending reports? Very boring check. Look over the requests for the new additions for South's hydroponic gardens? Yummy yes, with lunch. Go welcome new additions to South transferring from Briggs? Oh, well, wasn't that interesting. She'd have to ask Rose for their files before she met with them... She really did like at least being familiar with the people who worked for her.

It was bit of a surprise to have a call from Daigoro being transferred into her office to note one of the transfers personally; she loved that she could tell Briggs really loved its staff. He gave her a quick rundown on Ms. Alkaev... that she'd been part of a specialty unit and had stellar training, but was recently coming out of rehab therapy after losing her hearing. Shula agreed, South would be a good switch; it was a quiet base unless Aerugo got uppity, and the sunshine and scenery might help the soldier cope with her losses better. Dai cared so much about those who worked for him... He really was too sweet. The blue and silver fabric bounced around her as Shula bounced through the halls lightly, humming as she went toward her office on the top floor. Stopping at the secretary's desk outside her office, a plump, older woman just returning from lunch held up a few files for Shula. Veronika Alkaev and Jericho Cross. Shu smiled with a small wave as she opened her door, walking into the large office. "Thanks, Rosie! Hopefully I'll have a few minutes before they ar--"

BOING.

Shula bounced back a step, dropping the files in her hands as it dawned on her that she'd just walked into someone who was apparently trying to walk out of her office at the same time she was walking in. Dammit office doors really needed lanes or something... But wait, who was this and why was she in her office? A soft, rather embarrassed laugh escaped the tiny Ishvallan's lips as she quickly knelt down, scooping up her spilled files. "Sorry about that," Shula chirped, looking up at Isabella. Damn she needed to focus a little more on her surroundings some days. As she stood up, Shu noticed it wasn't just Isabella in her office, but two others. She blanched slightly. Oh crap, the transfers were here already? Not even thinking about it, Shula shut the door to her office, looking from Isabella to Jericho and then to Nika.

Seems to be a party in here today..." Shula walked away from her door, putting the files on her desk in front of her chair before walking over to the buffet along the wall, pulling down a few clean coffee cups. Not that the caffiene had any effect on her body, but the taste and warmth was always relaxing. "Coffee, anyone?" Casually she poured extra cups, and then took her won to sit behind her desk. Shula looked to each of them pleasantly, and then took out a notepad and pen, scribbling down a note and turned it around to face the woman she really hoped was Nika. Welcome to South! "I'm General Brighton. How can I help you all?"

Welcome to South's finest[?] Empty Re: Welcome to South's finest[?]

Post by Guest Tue Apr 10, 2012 4:53 pm

It wasn't the din of commotion that stirred Nika from her mind's wanderings, rather, it had been the slight tremors of falling steps, of motion in the room that she had become increasingly sensitive to over the past few months. Weary eyes parted open and the dark recesses of her mind fled to the pervading daylight of the small room, and to the beaming face of-
"akh!" Nika cried impulsively upon seeing the red-head from her not to distant past. A smirking face that she hadn't seen since the short war with Creta, a face that irked her soul in ways that she could never comprehend, and now had appeared from nowhere, with that smug look of his, as if he had been hiding around the corner for an entire year, just waiting to startle her. Nika had to refrain from punching him that very moment (Both as punishment for startling her, and to make sure he was really there and she was not simply having some delirious dream). Suppressing her expression of bewilderment and confusion as best she could, Nika glanced around the room, immediately noticing the other two standing near the doorway. Both were rather dark skinned women, certainly not Amestrian; Judging by their looks, she guessed the shapelier one was probably Esparian, and the shorter one was most definitely Ishvallan, going by her white hair and crimson eyes. She also recognized the Ishvallan woman as being Shula Brighton, the commander of South HQ and her new boss. Upon this revelation, Nika nearly flushed scarlet with humiliation and shame, having reacted in such a way to seeing Cross sitting next to her. Hell, she was already red enough in the face from being within two meters of that man in the first place. Just what the hell was he doing here? Where the hell did he get off showing up out of nowhere after vanishing during the battle against Creta? Damn it all, now wasn't the time to deal with this. She was supposed to be here to introduce herself to General Brighton. So far her impression must have been poor, but if she manage to keep her composure for the rest of the meeting, she might be okay...

Trying to ignore Cross's ever so irritating smirks, smiles, and other haughty, irksome expressions, Nika kept her attention on Commander Brighton as she grabbed a coffee made way to her desk, addressing the everyone in the room, she assumed. Nika stiffened a bit as the Ishvallan woman glanced to her and smiled, and then flashed her a note she had scribbled on a notepad, which read Welcome to South, before saying something else to the rest of the present. Unsure of the context of what was said other than in the note, Nika was hesitant to introduce herself as planned. What if her interjection seemed out of place among whatever it was that the others were saying? But putting aside these notions, Nika quietly cleared her and spoke up. "Nika Alkaev reporting in for transfer to South Forces. Pleased to meet you, Commander Brighton" said she, in slow, measured, low volume words, taking care to keep her tone steady. Speaking had become difficult with the loss of her hearing. No long was she able to control her tone and pitch by ear, and she wished she had memorized the physical feelings in her throat in relation to such when she could still hear. Despite her trepidation- worrying for talking when she could not hear the others or herself, Nika remained still, fixed, and with a serious and disciplined expression. She could only hope this would go smoothly....

As Jericho sat and waited he heard a stirring at the door, glancing over he saw a dark skinned woman, most definitely not Shula, at from her picture in her records that he could dig up. From her reaction she seemed to be caught off guard by their appearance in this room. She quickly hurried and put the files on the desk and swiftly tried to make her escape. Not a social one eh? Was all he thought as he watched her try and leave. Seems she wouldn't make it very far as someone entered as she was about to leave and... bounced off of her? Well obviously she had some... "assets," he supposed. Though to his delight it was the ever beloved Brigadier General, Shula Brighton. Well that was an interesting first impression.

He may have helped her with the things she dropped and picking her up as well but, she was a little far from where he was at the time, so it wasn't like he could have made any difference as it was. When it came to her finally noticing the two of them in the room she also seemed surprised... why was everyone so surprised to see new people today? Oh well, she seemed to recover at least... and locked the other girl in her office as well. Jericho had to hold back a laugh at this, and she was in such a hurry to get away too. He looked back to Veronika and just in time to as she seemed to have awakened from her daydream, the jolt of her body as she saw him only made him curl his wicked grin. Ah, it seemed his plan to surprise her had worked. How great this was.

At the offer of coffee Jericho delightedly accepted a cup. "Why thank you mam," he said sincerely. Taking a sip he listened as she welcomed them all... but why the writing? Was the blonde haired girl deaf or something? Though... that would explain why she would be less social to new comers... but who knew? "Well thank you for the rather warm welcome mam, as for what i may need? Hmm, I guess a quick over view of how things are done here in the south couldn't hurt," he said as respectively as possible. After all, she was a General and deserved the respect with which that rank entitled her.

Welcome to South's finest[?] Empty Re: Welcome to South's finest[?]

Post by Guest Wed Apr 18, 2012 10:09 am

"Hey baby, how'd you like to go for a ride? I'm sure I can take you anywhere you'd need to go." A man was leaning out the window of his fancy black car, gazing the woman walking slightly in front of him on the pavement up and down. Man she was fine. A crimson pencil skirt that hugged so close to those delicious looking legs, coupled with a white button up that was buttoned up all the way and matching crimson heels. God she was tall too. She held a crimson blazer over her shoulder, long black hair flowing freely down her back. He loved chicks with long hair. He also noticed that her nails were painted to match her suit, and, was that a hint of perfume he smelled? Mmm.... jasmine. Yeah, he had to get this chick in bed.

The woman, on the other hand, merely smirked to herself and slowed to a stop, turning to face this man who was definitely wearing too much cologne. Ew. And hairspray. Tsk tsk. She bent forward, giving him a lovely view of her cleavage as she flashed him a sweet smile. "Aw, thats so sweet of you. But I'm not sure your tight bum could handle my whip." With a wink at his stunned expression, she blew him a kiss and gave him a tiny little wave as she straightened up and took a step back on the sidewalk. Play-boys were always so funny, at least when they weren't too obviously sleazy. "Ta-ta sweetie~!" And with that, Lisbeth continued on her way through the streets of South City towards her destination; South HQ.

Was she wearing standard military dress? No. Did she particularly care? Well..... that was debatable. Uniforms were so terribly stuffy and instantly identifiable for obvious reasons. How could she resist seeing peoples reactions when she'd suddenly drop the fact she was in the military? She couldn't. It was simple as that. At least people had stopped offering the occasional comment when she walked into work now, having gotten quite used to her habits and mannerisms. She was honestly rather surprised how well joining the military had worked out for her considering the state she had been in two years ago. It still shocked the hell out of her whenever she walked into the building. And her parents still regarded her with a shake of the head whenever she updated them on what she was doing. She couldn't really blame them, they weren't exactly squeaky clean with the law so to speak. But like hell she'd turn her own parents in. Pfft, that would just be dumb.

The doors opened before her, heels clicking softly on the ground as she strode past her fellow soldiers with a wave or a soft greeting on the way to her office of sorts. She needed to check on those reports that had been given to her yesterday and pass them onwards and up the ladder. "Ok... now for actual work." She murmured to herself, walking into the room to see the table was scattered with other files, her subordinates and friends either perched on chairs or moving about. Offering them all a wave, she exchanged pleasantries before taking a seat with her files, sighing lightly as she began to go through them.

Welcome to South's finest[?] Empty Re: Welcome to South's finest[?]

Post by Guest Sun Apr 22, 2012 11:22 pm

Giving one look back at the two strangers, she hadn’t noticed the door opening, nor the short Ishvallan entering. It came to her surprise, of course, that suddenly someone just, um… face-planted into her chest. Quickly steadying herself, she blushes slightly, watching the woman pick up the files she had dropped. "Sorry about that," the woman said. Tilting her head, she was pondering… Why was she apologizing? Didn’t she know that…

”Just roll with it and get out of here,” she thinks, interrupting her train of thought. Right, she had to get out of there. And the door was still-

The Ishvallan closed the door, looking at the two strangers. Well, fuck. Her mind jumped into action, trying to single out an appropriate excuse to allow her to retreat from this awkward situation, but… Was there even one? Fuck.

With the Ishvallan walking further into the office, she sighed. This… made her uncomfortable. And she swore the man was staring at her chest – the pig. Approaching the desk hesitantly, she waved away the offer on a cup of coffee. Too bitter, and she’d been without caffeine for the past week. Best to keep it out of the system by now.

”I'm General Brighton. How can I help you all?”

Isabella froze for a moment, her eyebrow twitching slightly. The general? ”Fuck,” she mutters before standing up. ”Lieutenant Colonel Galicia, Head of Military Intelligence, ma’am.” Snapping to attention quickly and giving off a salute, she relaxes afterwards. Given her outfit, she probably wasn’t expecting complete formalities. ”I figured that it was time to finally introduce myself,” she rattled off while taking a seat again. Best to leave out that she transferred after the dissolution of the Western branch.

Her left hand clutched her right forearm as her eyes stayed fixed somewhere behind the general’s head, her face as stoic as she could muster. No smile, no frown, just business. Though, knowing her luck, this wouldn’t end up being strictly business.

Welcome to South's finest[?] Empty Re: Welcome to South's finest[?]

Post by Shula Brighton Thu Apr 26, 2012 5:54 pm

Well well well. So much for days off and just running into work to take care of a few little things. Seems that the day Shula had initially planned to have off was suddenly bursting with people all in her office. At this rate if anyone else showed up the tiny General would have opted to just order pizza and call it a party. Shula took a sip of the coffee, interally giddy about how good it was; Spade ahd introduced her to good Esparian coffee, and was a hundred times better than the stuff the HQ break rooms were supplied with. Mmm that definitely made the day better, even if she couldn't enjoy the effects of the caffiene. Shula glanced down at the files she'd brought in with her and notcied the report files stacked neatly on the left corner of her desk, brought in by the Lieutenant Colonel.

"Nika Alkaev reporting in for transfer to South Forces. Pleased to meet you, Commander Brighton" So, Miss Alkaev was here finally. Good, good. Shula noted she'd have to sent a note to Dai later and let him know she'd arrived safely. Turning the page back to her, Shula scribbled another quick note and turned it back to Nika. It's nice to meet you. If you have any questions please feel free. Nika still looked so uncomfortable, but hopefully that would change as she settled in and adjusted to the area. South was the lightest of the bases, even though it had a never-ending supply of work around the city to do. A cup of the offered coffee was accepted by the man sitting at Shula's desk, and happened to be the only person in the office other than herself that was smiling. It was going to be one of those weeks, wasn't it?

"Well thank you for the rather warm welcome mam, as for what i may need? Hmm, I guess a quick over view of how things are done here in the south couldn't hurt." Well, Cross seemed friendly at least. Shula glanced back down at the files for the two transfers. Seemed they would both be staying in the personnel apartments on the top floor of the HQ; she'd have to make a point to show them both up to finish welcoming them in. ”Lieutenant Colonel Galicia, Head of Military Intelligence, ma’am. I figured that it was time to finally introduce myself." So this was the leiutenant colonel. Shula had seen Galicia's name stamped on reports that were regularly left on her desk, but somehow kept missing meeting her in person. No time like the present, though.

"It's nice to finally meet you," she said to Isabella warmly. "Thank you for bringing these in so quickly." If nothing else, it was nice to know that one of the departments was running smoothly and didn't need to be babysat; everything turned out from them by Galacia had been good work as far as Shula noted. She glanced to Jericho and Nika, and back to Isabella. "Though I'll mention now that even in uniform my office stays kind of laid back, so adressing me by rank and formalities really aren't needed." Shula took another sheet of paper, jotting notes as she spoke. Accomodating Nika would take some getting used to, and Shula hadn't come prepared to meet with three people at once today.

"South is a lot different than Briggs is. We're not as well-staffed, and most people here do more than just the job their departments dictate. South HQ handles everything for South City, its residents and Crater Lake, as well having nearly a third of Amestris and all of the Ishval settlements fall under our jurisdiction on top of Aerugese border patrol." Shula scratched her notes hastily, trying to summarize succinctly what she'd just stated before turning the page over to give to Nika. "Basically you will be busy and in a sort of nuthouse, but at least the base accomodations are beachside to make up for it. Any questions?" Seemed like a fair enough warning, even though somehow it still caught people off-guard even if they'd been here since South HQ was operating again.

Welcome to South's finest[?] Empty Re: Welcome to South's finest[?]

Post by Sal Thu Apr 26, 2012 10:15 pm

((OOC: Listen to this while you read, it makes it that much better! ^u^))

"GOOOOOOD MORNING, SOUTH CITY!"

A certain bright-eyed and bushy-tailed pirate captain stretched his arms into the air as he stepped outside. Today was going to be a fresh start for him, now that he was rid of that monster of a conscience. Well, it truly was a monster, more of a monster than he had originally felt he was the moment he became a chimera. That was certainly an accomplishment. Of course, losing it was no easy or painless task, but that was a story for another day, not that he liked to think about it at all. Taking a deep breath, he dropped his necklace over his head, letting it slide onto his neck the same way it did every day. The cool metal made him feel that much more alive.

With a quick shake of his head, Sal ran over to the dock on the island. There was a small boat there, opposite of the Ole Miss, which he used to travel back and forth between Pirate Island and the rest of South City. It wasn't his first choice since it was small enough to allow some of the spray from the water to get to him, but today was too wonderful of a day for that to be of any consequence. Grabbing an oar - it was a rather old-fashioned, wooden boat; he felt that much more like a true pirate that way - he thrust its end into the water and began to paddle his way to the other side of the lake. As he did so, he sang a little tune that went something like this:

"One more time, we're gonna celebra~ate, oh yeah, alright, don't stop the dancin'! One more time, we're gonna celebra~ate, oh yeah, alright, don't stop the dancin'!"

Tapping his foot, he rowed rhythmically to the song, and time seemed to pass more quickly that way. In a small amount of time, he'd made it to the nearest dock, which he tied the boat to, bouncing in time with the song. He wasn't the most amazing singer, but he certainly wasn't bad... His joyful demeanor caught him a few looks, all of them smiles, and he smiled back at them with a friendly wave and a playful giggle. It was as though his happiness affected the people around them, or, at least, his state was reflected in the other people's faces.

Sal pulled out a strip of fabric and used it to tie up his hair - he was feeling a bit adventurous. The fabric itself matched the shawl that he had loosely wrapped around his waist (despite wearing a belt) with the orange and black pattern. It was one of the indicators that he was Ishvallan himself, if his white hair and deep, red eyes weren't enough of a signal. Once his boat was secure (the rope looked rather haphazardly tied), he began to jog toward South HQ. He was going to pay Miss Shula a visit!

--

Once he arrived at the front doors, he opened them with an energetic pull, causing them to swing open very suddenly and violently. A few heads swung to see who it was, but he came here so often that the people at the front desk recognized him well enough. Giving them a friendly greeting and a wave, he skipped past them and made his way toward the office of the Brigadier General, Shula Brighton.

--

"Music's got me feelin' so free, we're gonna celebra~ate!~ Celebrate and dance so free!~"

With a swift knock on the door to her office, he opened it (as per usual) and danced into the room, singing his song - he must have sung the same song at least 5 times by now - not even remotely bothered by the other people in the room. He hadn't heard the conversation due to being absorbed in the music in his head, but he was in such a great mood that he didn't even think of the consequences.

"Miss Shu~ula," he chimed, hopping over to her desk, "How are you enjoying this awesome day?" He continued to bounce jovially while speaking, tapping an incomprehensible rhythm on the wood with both of his hands. It almost seemed as though he were playing a piano, just...without the piano. "Like my new outfit? I thought I'd wear it so you can see! It's cool, huh?" He took a step back and did a little spin, making sure his tail didn't hit either of the two sitting by the desk, before resuming his music-less rhythm demonstration.
