DESCRIPTION:
→ Oliver is what you would call 'a diminutive young man'. His skin is a milky pale that has a penchant for flashing pink on the cheeks during moments of embarrassment and stress - or when he's too hot or too cold, but that's another story. His eyes are a little too big and are often earn him terms such as 'doe eyed' or 'creepy', they are also a very deep olive green and sometimes result in his name being shortened to simply, Olive.

Short and thin, Oliver isn't very imposing and is actually quite feminine looking. His features are long and angular, painting a pretty picture until the man is enraged - once angry these pleasant features tend to turn ugly and sharp, almost menacing and cruel. His dark brown, almost black, hair is choppy and constantly swept back carelessly, though somehow always appears put together and proper.

Clothing wise, Oliver is always very polished and put together, preferring darker shades of clothing even in the Spring and Summer.

PERSONALITY:
→ Strange and hard to pin down sums Oliver up. He's one of the types that is always deemed nice enough, if not irritatingly so, but with highlights of cunning and darker shades dotted around. You can tell the man is not at all genuine but are never quite sure on what aspects, you'd probably find yourself questioning whether he actually liked you or not or if what he was saying were true. Oliver has one hell of a poker face and a natural ability to earn people's trust and fool them into thinking he's a harmless puppy. He also has a habit for telling long winded stories that usually end up being complete pointless lies with seemingly no purpose.

Deep down, however, Oliver harbours many unstable facets and could be considered HIVE minded. His sense of love is utterly deluded and comes across more as obsession and infatuation. Once he finds a person he likes he will attach to them like a parasite and demand to be involved in everything about them, and God help anyone who tries to separate them and get in his way.

Oliver, at his core, is very raw and build-able, bending the way of the person he currently 'loves' and changing to suit them. It's almost like the man is missing some vital components, components necessary for functioning as a normal person. His voice is strange and his laughs always different and too long, he sighs too much and has a habit of pausing midway through doing something with no explanation.

Intelligent and charismatic, Oliver is easy to get along with providing you are polite and civil - and providing you don't get too close to his current object of affection. He's a very good public speaker and could be considered to have a silver-tongue able to talk its way out of anything. He'd prefer to chat things through than fight and would resort to black mail or psychologically damaging methods if a situation wasn't going his way.

HISTORY:
→ Born to Martin and Muriel Van-Stanten on April the 1st 1984, Oliver was born premature and hence a sickly child. Suffering from a lung disease, he would often spends days in bed trying to recover from asthma attacks and chronic breathing difficulties. The sense of fragility installed in his parents an odd protectiveness and pity, which amalgamated into something comparable to control and restriction. His Father, who was a man of the military, was used to structure and regime and knew that a sense of order was good for the soul. However, this control was pretty unreasonable and ended with Oliver having every notion of his life controlled. From what food he ate to how many hours sleep he got, the child grew up having everything decided for him. His parents thought it best for their little breakable boy and were truly sincere in their attempts to keep him safe, however, if you were to explain Oliver's childhood to a strange they would no doubt deem it 'insane'.

This control continued in Oliver's life until he qualified as an alchemist at age 20 and moved out. The new world seemed scary and exciting, and he didn't really do much but learn for the next few years of is life. It was during his 24th year that Oliver's life changed, changed due to his fateful meeting with a man named Anton.

The two happened upon one another in a café and were brought into conversation by accidentally taking one another’s drinks. Anton, learning of Oliver’s interests, was intrigued by the man and informed him of a job opportunity. Immediately drawn in by the charming scientist, Oliver pretty much jumped at the chance to apply for a job as his assistant - even using foul play to get rid of some competition. These methods of foul play somewhat betray his perceived nativity as being a façade, for instance, he guiltlessly broke into one of the other applicants house and left threatening messages scrawled over the walls. And when that didn’t do the job, he even threatened the woman’s life and drove her to the point where she moved all together, a fearful wreck.

After learning he had the job, he pretty much set his sights on claiming the man as his own, truly determined that he can make someone love him. Oliver detests Anton’s wife since he knows that the woman is only using him, he is otherwise indifferent to the daughter but can sometimes even direct his anger to her – viewing the young girl as another ‘thing’ getting in the way of his and Anton’s developing relationship. The man has considered murdering the two, but is currently not sure he would want to kill someone – no doubt more due to his fear of being caught than any sense of guilt.

TRIVIA:
→ He still suffers the illness he has as a child, though has it under control, that doesn't mean he's above using it as an excuse to get sympathy. The lung condition is controlled by medicine he takes every night, as well as an inhaler he carries around in case he gets shortness of breath.

→ I wanna get freaky with yooooooou~ <3 *sings to you all* I also wasn't sure where I posted something about his alchemical abilities, so I figured I should put it here for ya'll. He uses ice alchemy mainly, he did try to in-cooperate all water types into it, such as boiling, but it seems his mind would simply not allow him to heat something up - he can only make things colder. An interesting thing to consider, given his mentality.

• History is 181 words short. If you need help on idea's, here are a few suggestions: What illness did he suffer as a child? How did he get into alchemy? How did he choose his particular route of alchemy? What sorts of methods of foul play did he use? How did he meet Anton?
  
• If you can, could you explain at least a little what illness he has and how he has it "under his control?" Is he on meds? Does he get regular blood transfusions, what?
  
• Language is the language of the countries we have on MDA. If you notice on the main page at the end of the description of each country, it lists what language they speak. There is also a section under Rules and Information about languages. In your application, Oliver would definitely speak Amestrian. So you would write it like this, Amestrian. You must have a color to go along with a language. If you know more than one, obviously choose separate colors.
  
• For your alchemy, you create a transmutation equipment app and explain everything there. Again, under Profile Templates, in rules and Information, there is a section with that template.

He was most certainly born in Amestris though.
