Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team} - Page 4 Empty Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}

Post by Murazar Dauthi Wed Jul 28, 2010 7:37 pm

Murazar raised his eyebrows as the fog rose around them, then his sight of her was gone and in it place several possible shapes. He gritted his teeth and decided to drop into a crouch and jump out of the way. He stood up and gritted his teeth before deciding to pretty much say 'fuck it' and destroy his surroundings to remove the mist. He started to cast blindly about conflagrations that exploded randomly. She couldn't really tell where he was since the mist was dispersing randomly.

His main plan was to try and figure out where she was and attack her directly head on. After all she could create tactical enviroments, on the other hand he had actually fought in them. He knew what to do since he knew what had worked before, its just he had to be even more careful considering she was making them enviroments. Surprises would arise in things that he hadn't dealt with before or at least combined.

Houka narrowly dodged a conflagration by twisted in the air as it dispersed the fog just in front of her. She looked at the remaining fog and focused reducin the temperature of it so it turned to ice. It was flimsy ice and some of the conflagrations broke it, but the thing was it was opaque ice. Neither could see through it. Houka had missed with her acrobatic attack. She kept low to the ground moving about the ice ready to launch a wind blade or strike with her fist or feet should she him. She kept silent her breathing barely audible even if you were next to her. What Mura did not realise was how far Houka had travelled in her alchemy training. She may not have faced fog or other of these climates in combat, but she had faced them. She was a tactical fighter, but if it came to it she was also a no-rules brawler who would bite and scratch to secure her victory if necessary. Her mind was no longer registering this as just a normal training battle. This was a test of her skills in both alchemy and close combat now. A test she didn't want to fail. She felt like she had to prove that she was skilled to herself, but more importantly to Mura to earn some respect from him .

Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team} - Page 4 Empty Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}

He focused his conflagrations all around shattering the easily broken barely formed ice, his mind was working at high speed to plan out multiple scenarios and figure out what she was doing. He was not just dispersing the ice around, but creating very sharp ground to walk on. Well the parts that weren't melted anyway. He crouched low and leaned against the wall, he even used his conflagrations around him. That way she wouldn't know where he was just because he focused them at a distance.

He then cast his wind crescents while still using the conflgrations against the sides of the walls he was on. It almost looked as if he was in a corner and blasted down one side then snuck off. It blew the mist halfway across the room while he hid behind a small ice formation that covered his front and right side, while the wall covered his back. The wind he had blasted in the other direction went over the small formation, unless houka was close to one of the wind blasts she still wouldn't know where he was, but he could pop out and check on her...

Houka snapped her fingers and the ice melted turning to water. She sighed deeply and rose to her feet looking at Mura. "You win this one Mura." she said with a shrug and deep sigh. "My alchemy isn't combat based." She walked towards the door, which had been blown off its hinges by one of the conflagration blasts. "We will have to train again sometime. Next time i'll win" She glanced around the room looking at the damage Mura had caused, for it was mostly him with his slice and dice and conflagration that had done the damage and sighed once again. The builders were going to have a fit. Then again they should know alchemists were going to train there and should of made precautions somehow. "Next time we should do this outside so we don't destroy half of Briggs in the process."

She was thinking of heading back to the bar. "Fancy joining me at the bar?" she asked him curiously.

Murazar stood up and frowned for a moment before nodding and replying as he walked over to the nearly destroyed rack and put his holstered pistols back on. " Sure, although if we do this outside it'll be easier for me. If anything blocked your vision from mine i'd vanish. Anyway, your good. I'd hate to fight you for real, but I doubt that since we're friends. I don't think i could hurt a friend, its against my honor after all." He laughed, the irony of a mercenary having any kind of honor was almost ridiculous.

He followed next to her, he generally seemed somewhat friendlier if still reactionally distant. It just seemed ingrained into his personality. He however had not yet used excepting the spar, the frozen tone of death he usually used with people.

"My alchemy will be even stronger next time we meet" she promised thinking about ways to do. A smirk came to her face as she thought of a way to do it using her old fire-alchemy style. "And so will I in straight combat." She headed through the halls walking towards the bar. She wanted a drink to warm her up after the coldness of their battle. Both literally and metaphorically. "I'll have thought of ways around your alchemy too."

"As for you dissapearing outside...i'll have to see if i can get the Major General to commision a room designed for alchemy training of our magnitude." she said with a nod as she opened the bar door and walked in. She sat down at the bar and placed some money on the counter thinking for a brief moment before speaking. "I'll have a cherry sourz and coke..double sourz in it." she asked and looked at the mercenary. "As for him i'm buying his drinks whether he wants me to or not."

He stretched his body out on the way as he walked, it was nearly frozen. He was numb to it, it however still affected his body. He grinned over to her and replied as he fit his shirt and jacket back on." Good luck, thinking of ways around my alchemy will be exceedingly difficult. Plus I am a fox, i'll always think of different and new creative ways to do anything with what I have."

He already popped down money as soon as houka did, his was well over what her amount was. Which led the bartender to swipe his and leave hers, after all wouldn't you want more money? He spoke chuckling a bit," Your just a bit too late to order for me, sweet of you; but I still pay." He smiled as his favorite brand bottle of whiskey with a glass appeared in front of him and he poured himself a drink before gulping the first one down fast and replacing it.

"Refusing a drink from a pretty girl, even one like me, you gay or something?" she asked playfully thinking about his techniques. The conflagration slashes would be hard to overcome with her weather manipulation. She would have to find a way to make her own wind slashes stronger, perhaps combining ice with them. She smiled darkly. That could work. A slash of cold air with snow in it like icicles. That could work very well, especially if she managed to combine her other idea with it. That would be a lethal attack, perhaps overly so. "I thought of a new way to use my alchemy in that battle, the whole ice block thing. I've never done that before. Still, if my attacks are combined with the Ice Queen's....I doubt you'd stand a chance no matter where you are."

He raised a eyebrow and laughed before smooth talking right back in a playful manner, " I thought i'd be a gentleman and buy the pretty lady her drink for her. After all, I do love intelligent, beautiful, and strong women. So far your the first person to spar with me that was on par past the analytical stage. " He smiled cheerfully, he was flirting but only slightly and it was thrown in with the teasing back. The praise was obviously real.

He raised a eyebrow, her idea may or may not work. He doubted it, " Your idea may or may not work, unless you know specifically how strong my wind is. Especially with fire thrown in the mix. Plus who said I can't just add something new to my combat side?"

Houka smiled at his compliment and then this faded to be replaced by a frown. "You know i'm gay right?" she said seriously then winked playfully her smile returning. "Not that I mind the compliments." She sipped her drink thoughtfully. New attacks using current abilities. There had to be a way. Maybe a water-enfused wind slash. Would that be enough to counter the fire? She doubted it, but it might be enough to slow it down. Perhaps if she launched two or three...yes that would do it she felt. "Your attacks certainly are strong. I wonder who can launch them more quickly though." Her tone of voice suggested this was a challenge she would be willing to participate in. Then she had an interesting idea.

"Ya know...Reila and I make an unbelivable team, but I reckon the two of us might make a good one too." she said with a grin on her face thinking about his powers and ways to combine them. She only had one idea so far, but she thought she could think of other useful ones given time. "Afterall, if you heat something up rapidly then cool it rapidly then it often breaks. We should work out some combos for when we have to fight together." She laughed as she downed her drink. "If you combined your death wind, with my weather, Reila's ice, Daigoro's magnetism and Ilona's weaponry...or even just Reila, you and I...we would be a lethal team."

Murazar chuckled lightly and replied looking her in her eyes as he took a sip of his drink," I can always try though, i'm not known for giving up. Theres no harm in trying, right?" He winked lightly, he did like her but figured it would never be returned. Plus he never was one to understand how relationships were supposed to go, he had a hard enough time trying to understand how to be her friend.

He looked over at her and replied to her musing," I've never been much up for team work, although it does sound nice. I just prefer to work alone, usually people either get in my way or get in unneccessary danger. " He shrugged, a odd way of looking at the fact since he was a ruthless mercenary that his thought approach on team work was more concern than anything.

She smiled at his response. "As long as you don't try too hard." she warned lightly tapping her sword hilt with her hand. She had seen what men could be like when they didn't give up on a girl. It often lead to her being forced to sever their prospects. She ordered another drink whilst she thought about his idea of team work. It was strange, but she could understand it. Afterall, you rarely got mercenary teams so why would he be one to team up with others.

"Well, maybe at Briggs you'll get used to it and be stronger for it." she said with a shrug as she sipped her drink. This time it was apple sourz rather then cherry. "It never hurts to have someone to watch your back and if it was one of the Briggs Brigade i doubt they'd get in the way and we can all handle danger."

He chuckled lightly and replied back casually," Unlike most guys these days, i'm more of a gentleman. Probably should have been born forty or sixty years ago." He gulped down his glass and refilled it with a bit of a flair thrown in with the motion of spinning the bottle in his fingers. He wasn't a idiot, to him he sort of needed to get up to date on his flirting. That and other things of course, but he was a gentleman he believed in values long dead or dying in this age and time for the majority of people.

He spoke up again to her," Maybe, some situations are just too crazy to be handled except by yourself. Well that and the job I have at briggs." Did he just hint to his other job that was a secret? Oh well, it wasn't enough of a hint to really know what his second job was.

Houka stared at hin for a moment quietly thinking about what to say in response to that. "Well, that would of been no fun. Then I wouldn't of met you." she said with a smile and a wink at her friend. "And a bit of chivalry will get you far with some still. Who knows if your lucky you might just worm your way into my pants one day." To that she laughed. She was joking of course, but then again anything was possible.

"I guess so." she said with a shrug unsheathing her sword and threw it upwards before catching it in the sheath. "Though some jobs are so difficult you need others to help you out." She suggested as an added point. She ordered another drink after downing her current one. This one with blackcurrant sourz. She really did like her sourz. "So...you ever drink anything other then whisky?"

He looked over at her, just for a split-second shock was on his face. Then it was back under that unreadable mask, he replied teasingly." If I did get into yours, i'd have to invite a girl into it." He paused a moment before laughing," Maybe reila, that would be hilarious to see her reaction." He sipped his drink more before looking over at her and providing another point." I've never had a mission difficult enough to have to work with someone, usually if it gets too hard I just thin, divide, or throw in another variable to make it more possible of success. "

He raised his glass and sipped it before looking at it as if inspecting," Its the only thing that keeps me warm, i'm too considerate for chasing women without consideration of them, wasting ammo without it being to sharpen or keep my skills, or waste time sleeping when I could be drinking or working." He shrugged, he was too kind to people to use them up and throw them away if he knew them. He didn't want to lose money in his paycheck at the range just to shoot for recreation, and he hated sleeping. He saw the faces of everyone he had killed in those dreams.

She smiled at his look of shock even though it faded almost instantly. She had learnt a lot about this man so far. He was not as cold and emotionless as people would of thought. She said nothing for a while gently sipping her drink then almost coughed it out when he mentioned Reila. "Now that would be...." she mulled the words over in her head trying to decide on one. "...very fun, but definately weird."

"Well one day you might do. Afterall, what if you needed the weather manipulating or something? You couldn't do that now could you." She flicked him on the forehead playfully. "But then again you'll have my help whenever you need, as long as it isn't against Briggs." She said with a frown. That was the one thing that worried her about Mura. He was in charge of their intelligence, but if he got offered more money by someone he could turn all that intelligence against them in a heartbeat. He would be a deadly foe. She was glad that she was now friends with him. It gave her some immunity to him. Also, it allowed her to analyse him for weaknesses she could exploit should he turn against them.
