Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
As he chased after her she cursed under her breath. She had forgotten to pay for her drink and he was going to have a go at her for making him pay or at least that is what she thought until he began speaking. She stopped and stared at him in surprise. She considered his words for a moment. It was an important thing in friendship trust and she wanted him to be able to trust her and her to trust him, but she didn't have anything to offer that she could think of.
"I have two problems with what you just said there Mura. One...it makes it seem like I don't already consider you a friend and two...there is nothing about me really that I really keep secret." she thought about this for a moment more then added. "If I had a secret to share I would, but I don't." She honestly couldn't think of anything at all and fumbled in her pocket offering him the exact amount of money for the drink. "Sorry I forgot to pay for my drink and made you pay." She said blushing slightly in embarassment. Normally, she wasn't that forgetful, but it seemed either the alcohol had really got to her or she got way to into the drama of her speech.

Murazar was more confused than anything, she was blushing because she didn't pay her bill and he did? To top over that she didn't have secrets? Who didn't? His life was made on things like that. He replied pushing her money back to her," Well, I guess I could tell you a secret of my life. At least that, if your open with me about anything I guess thats better than trading secrets."
He paused as he pushed her money back, his drinking earlier probably was making him say this but hey why not? " You know, I can't help but say this. You look pretty cute when you blush." He gave a small smile, that was probably the first time in a long time he had flirted to a girl. What was it? Half a year? His life in briggs was non-stop he hadn't stopped for anything, but nor did he care. He didn't have feelings for anyone, not even in terms of friendship. He blushed silently as he realized who he had said that to before saying again embarressed," Ah, just forget I said that. I'm sorry if that seemed wrong of me to say or anything."
He spoke again scratching his head in embarressment," I guess I dont really know how to make friends, its been so long since i've had anyone to trust everyone just seems like their ready to stab me in the back. Almost twelve years." It was when he started to study alchemy, he didn't even trust his parents back then with that. It almost seemed natural to be called The Fox by some people, beyond it being his middle name he was always alone, and always survived.

Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
She was surprised at his comment. Although she was a lesbian and didn't like men much it was still nice to be paid a compliment by someone whatever their gender. "Its fine." she said reassuringly. "I don't mind a bit of flirting, but it won't get any further then that." She looked at him for a moment.
"I didn't and don't really either." she said quietly. "Before Briggs I was always journeying everywhere to try and master my choice of alchemy back then...beating people up who tried to pick a fight....and playing on my N64 which I took everywhere as a way to cool down." She looked upwards. "Then I came to Briggs and just by being myself and doing the best I could....even by making mistakes....I gradually made my first friends here Daigoro and Reila."
She thought about his comment. "I'll be open about most things, unless I think they are best kept to myself...at least for a while." she said thinking about it. "Though...at the moment...there is nothing like that."

Murazar nodded before pausing as if thinking far deeper than he ever had before, it was unusual. Then he spoke quietly, barely to be heard and very...edgy. As if he was barely concealing his real emotions and they threatened to break loose. " Then my secret that i'll part to you is this, I grew up poor in kanama. I worked with my father while going to school and excelling, eventually I saw a alchemist in passing as he fixed a house. Ever since then I tried to learn alchemy to the best of my ability, at that point in my life I had to buy the books. Everyone hated me, mostly for trying in their eyes to rise above them."
He paused taking a few moments to obviously control a tide of emotions that seemed to batter at his controlled defenses." Then my father died, my mother never seemed to respond except to food. I kept learning, supported her and myself with the job, and still excelled in school. Once I graduated early and discovered my special talent for using the wind specifically, I left. I haven't seen her again, for all I know i've left my only family member to die. I have nothing to lose, and no one to trust." He paused to look down. His hair covered his eyes and face, he seemed glued to the spot as every bit of effort was sinked into not letting his emotions out. He sort of just stood there, in a inner battle of what to do.

Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
She was touched by his story. It was a sad one. Born to a poor family and strived to make himself better despite being taunted and berated for trying. In order to become better then he was he had become a mercenary leaving behind his own family member and any friends he had made. Now he had no-one or so he thought.
"Well whether you like it or not you've got me to trust now." she said with a smile. "And don't worry I shall keep your secret." she added as an afterthought.
"I suppose the only thing i've really kept secret is that my tough girl exterior never used to exist. On my travels I was attacked because people...men mostly....thought I was weak. I did my best to defend myself, but...back then I was really was weak and I didn't want to use my alchemy for hurting people." She rolled up the sleeves on her coat revealing her heavily scarred arms. "Eventually I bought my sword...and began training with it and training my body so I could at least defend myself, but the men were still too strong and I wasn't as skilled as I am now so I resorted to aiding myself with alchemy."

Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
Murazar frowned as he looked at her arms, he grimaced. She really didn't need to go through that, he it seemed like was proper for his family to die and the rest to ignore his existence. He'd also had killed so many people that he had more people hate him than like him. He even had a taste for killing that was steadily rising further. He was a Demon. He raised his arms to lightly touch the scars before recoilling he had a short flashback, not with anyone like her involved. It was when he was torturing a man to get the information out of him, he had hurt the man so badly he didn't even have half his bodyparts and a quarter of the organs left. Three layers of skin were cut off more than half his body. He held his head temporarily before dropping it.
He looked into her eyes and spoke with trouble trying to find out what emotion was causing it." If you need my help, or want it. Just ask, whether its for combat or not. Free of charge." He smiled simply for just a moment before adding," Want to spar with me? That way you know I dont just bullshit everyone?" The idea seemed like a good one, even though it was more for a stress reliever than anything.

Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
Houka considered this for a moment. Fighting someone would be good training for her. She needed to practise with her new sword anyway. She turned away from him and began to walk before stopping. "You coming then?" she asked before she continued walking heading through the halls towards the training arena. THe last time she had been here she had frozen most of it with her new alchemy and had damaged the walls. Fortunately, they had been repaired, but unfortunately this meant the training might just ruin the hard work of those who had repaired it. She shook her head. Fixing the walls was good practise for them in their craft. She thought about coating the walls in ice to protect them, but that might weaken them. It seemed that if the walls were going to be damaged their was no way to stop it so she might as well just go with the flow. She wanted to see what Mura was capable of in combat. She was intensely curious about the death wind alchemist. It seemed three of the Briggs Brigade were wind users: Mura, Reila and herself.

Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
He followed on sporting a grin on his face, he paused as they entered the arena. It seemed satisfactory, he spoke aloud." If you wish lets put away our weaponry, my handguns and your sword. We're both lethally proficient in them. So unless you dont want to prevent an accident which could result in one of us dying or seriously wounded it'd be best. If not hey, I won't go easy even though I have my firearms.
He took his jacket off, shoes, and gloves. He hung them on a small rack near the entrance and reattached his dirt bags to be around his waist. He then started to stretch and pop various joints, it was obvious he was taking this seriously. The grin on his face didn't seem natural, it seemed as if death was a dead man smiling at you. His eyes seemed to convey a sense of insanity or blood lust as he stretch. The two pistols remained in the holsters on his dress shirt until houkas answer. In the meantime he pulled back the sleeves on his dress undershirt and folded them back neatly. The scars cover his own arms criss crossed, several looked like sharpnel and recent. Others seemed to suggest he was flayed alive at some point, and another was obviously a bullet enter and exit wound.

Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
She had wanted to get used to using her sword, but against guns it wouldn't be useful. "Is this a close combat battle or can we use alchemy? If so i'll need my sword, but I won't use it as a weapon just as an alchemy tool." she said indicating the transmutation circle on the hilt of the blade. She tapped her hilt awaiting her answer thinking about how best to fight him with or without alchemy. He was muscular, but not overly so. The more recent wounds might still be tender so that was a possible weak point. She didn't want to injure him heavily. If they wounded eachother it was best it was not anything that would take a while to heal. Afterall, that could cause a rift in their new 'friendship'. Plus, she sensed something was coming and didn't want either of them to be too injured to stop whatever it was. It might just be paranoia, but after South City...everywhere was weakened due to troops being re-routed there to help in the re-building of the barrier....it would be an ideal time to attack.

Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
He returned the reply noting the symbol on her sword, he thought for a moment about their strengths and weaknesses. He was more muscular than her, and he had killed people with his hands due to training under various people and fighting techniques, besides street fighting. She was formally trained and he doubted she had seen the life go out of someones eyes and never hesistated. That left combining them since his alchemy was exceedingly lethal almost all the time." Both, We're halfway equal in hand to hand. Alchemy is a different story, I might for real accidently kill you if my vision is impaired and you cant defend against it. That sword might defend against a handful of Slice and Dices of mine, but the force behind it might fracture or break something unless your careful. You pick. I'm putting my guns up either way."
He walked back over to the rack and took the holsters off with the guns in them and hung them up. He decided to take his entire shirt off. After all if it was hand to hand he wanted the least amount of things for her to grab and throw him by. His chest and back seemed scarred enough that he looked like he ought to have been dead. Shrapnel from the recent episode almost covered a entire side of his body. Bullet scars, knives, fist, metal, fire, almost anything you could think of was there and scarred into his flesh. He didn't seem to even notice.

Houka removed her sword and her jacket revealing a black sleeveless top beneath it and her heavily scarred arms. She wasn't overly modest, but she wasn't about to get her tits out or show her bra during a training fight especially with a guy. She chucked her sword to the side of the arena and assumed a defensive fighting stance so she was facing side on to Mura with her weight shifted backwards slightly. This gave him less to hit and it was also a good position for turning to the offensive. She looked at him. "I've thought many many people hand to hand, with my sword and with my old alchemy. You have the upperhand in strength, but I think I edge you slightly in speed." She said with a nod. She also knew all the best places to strike to temporarily disable someone. "Let's do pure hand to hand. If you have too much of an edge we'll add alchemy to the mix." Her right hand was at her waist clenched and her left hand raised and open with it in line with her face, almost fully extended. She smirked and did the traditional bring it on gesture with her hand.

Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
He nodded and unbuckled his belt and threw it aside since the bags of dirt lined it, he dropped into a crouch before circling her as she adopted a adaptable stance. She was really good looking, almost beautiful if she smiled it'd probably hit that point. Eh, it wasn't like he was a very good date. Let alone family person. He let his primal side take over, his face bolted from the insane grin to almost feral. He barely spoke in his normal tone, it almost seemed as if something kept him from talking at all. " Well then, if either of us get a upperhand then we'll throw in alchemy. Who knows, you might beat me. "
His motions when he circled her from a distance seemed like if there was weather or a forest or even the snow enviroment, then he would fit in like a animalistic predator. He growled lightly before charging straight towards her, in the last second of the charge he flipped his body around so only his back was facing her. She had very little to grab and if she didn't move he wouldn't knock her down easily from his weight, strength, and speed. If she dodged he would grab her since she was within reach.

She watched him warily ready to strike at any point. His nature seemed to change in combat, but he wasn't the only one. As he came closer her eyes glinted as if lit by an inner fire and a strange aura seemed to surround her. As he came in close and spun around she adjsuted her weight shifting it forwards and striking with her thumb into his pack. It wasn't a punch, more of a stick like motion using the shift of her body. Her nails were short, but not fully and her thumb was solid. It was aimed to hit on the bone. The momentum of his moving body merely added to the force of the blow. She had stepped back slightly before he had finished his movement so he didin't bowl into her as the movement might intend. Once her strike was finished she ducked down and attempted to sweep out his legs with a spinning kick.

Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
He grunted with a flash of pain as she hit him, or more accurately stabbed at him with her thumb. He rolled and threw himself further away. As soon as he hit the ground he rolled for a second and then came back up, except this time he was on all fours. It was almost as if an animal had taken over. He growled for a second before using his fist to hit himself in the same spot she hit him in the back. It hurt alot, but didn't really do anything other than that.
His mind was working fast, the most apparent thing was that she was aiming for pressure points and such. Which really wouldn't work too well, his mind was in the state that psycologically he could do anything and believe it. The pain and physical excertion faded as adreneline kicked in and he started to circle her again. This time without attacking, just watching. His style for this kind of thing was animalistic, hers was tactical with her training. He bared his teeth, growling for a moment before continuing to circle at a distance of about seven meters.

She crouched down assuming a pose similar to her earlier one, but crouched down more lowering her centre of gravity. She watched him carefully. His form was unrefined, but she could sense a power and ferocity behind it like some sort of beast. She stood waiting for a while till he was almost behind her. Due to having her weight shifted backwards it was easy to move into a roll and she did so rolling backwards and launching a kick from the ground at chest height. This was not a pressure point strike, however if the kick hit it would send him crashing into the wall just behind him adding to the damage.
"Its been a while since i've had a fight. Sorry If i'm a bit rusty." she joked rolling backwards and to her feet returning to her original pose.

Murazar dropped to his almost crawling pace to flatten against the ground, that was something animals weren't smart enough to do. He rolled several times out of the way to avoid her kick that was aimed far too high to have hit him, he wasn't taking any chances until he knew exactly what type of fighting style she was using. He returned the reply, his voice rougher and having a edge to it. " Sorry, right now i'm just analyzing your fighting style. In a few minutes i'll start to get a bit more serious, if you want."
His real fighting style wasn't strikes like hers, well not exactly. He liked to grapple and then deliver a crushing blow, anything else was a stealth attack and instanteous or nearly so in killing or knocking into unconcious. She was aware which would make it exceedingly hard to do any of that. For now he just circled her, ever watching. She was more acrobatic than him that was for sure, he however had strength and experience on his side. Her experience was just fighting, he would have to hold himself somewhat back to keep from using lethal manuevers.

She was annoyed the kick had missed, but was glad she had rolled out of his reach before he could launch a counter. She was too analysing him. She was interested to see despite his beast-like style he didn't fully let his inner beast take over as it were. No, he controlled it enough to give him an edge. No wonder people called him a demon. She didn't want to go in too close less he used his strength to aid him. She decided to move back nearer towards the wall. She had an idea how to use the training arena to her advantage.
"Seems none of us want to make the first move." she whispered to him her voice low her eyes never leaving him. She felt as soon as she turned his back he would strike, which was part of her plan, but first she wanted to know how he would react if she didn't make the first move.

Murazar spoke again as he circled her, Too bad it wasn't filled with snow or dirt or something. Then his circling could actually come out to be part of a transmutation circle. At the moment it didn't mark anything, instead he kept circling. He paused when she didn't even bother to look and backed up five more meters. Well out of her reach. " Well then, lets kick it up to alchemy. Hand to hand, well neither of our alchemy's forbade that do they?"
He stood straight up his body making a unnerving scene that almost looked as if your bones simply couldn't bend like that as he straightened himself out. He kept his motions like a reed, something that would sway and move, but something that could strike back.

Fortunately, where she was moving was near her sword. The object of her alchemy, which she needed to 'kick it up to alchemy'. She flicked it up casually and caught it sliding it into her sheath. She smiled and gripped the hilt focusing so the transmutation circle began to glow. She liked this idea. It would allow her to test her alchemy in close combat, something she had not yet tried.
"Let's turn it down a notch instead." she stated calmly with a joking tone in her voice and with that the temperature in the room began to decrease till it was even colder then the outside of briggs. This was going to be very interesting indeed. "This battle will be truly cool." she joked. However, temperature change wasn't her only attack. With the thrust of her palm she launched a blast of wind at him condensed into a ball that might be able to knock him back.

Re: Tired is a lifestyle {open to the briggs team}
Murazar moved back quickly as the temperature reached freezing levels. Both of them would be cold, he however was used to it when he was a child working in the mines. Those were freezing and the worst conditions he had lived in, he grabbed his belt and retied it on him quickly before walking forward and throwing the phosphourus dirt in the air. Now it was circulating around and would provide a nice chunk of battling for the arena.
When she cast the blast of wind at him, he pointed his wind palms hand towards the center of it, directly at her ball of wind and cast his crescent Slice and Dice. It cut the ball in half and sailled towards her, the difference in the density and power was that she was using the enviroments air while he custom made his using the transmutation circle and silicon. His Wind would slice and shatter any other wind like a Hot knife through butter. He grinned momentarily and counted the distance between the. The adreneline was making him ignore the cold as if it was just a minor distraction.
He replied calmly and easily," Apart from bad jokes, i'd suggest not using Air against me. I am The Wind of Death, after all." He grinned for just a moment and watched her, prepared for defensive or offensive action.

She smirked and rolled out of the way of the slice and dice attack beginning to manipulate the moisture in the air so clouds formed on the ceiling. What she was going to do with them though she had not quite decided. It all depends on how he acted. He was used to cold so maybe something that caused some physical wounds. She had a few faint ideas of ways, but she didn't want any of them to give him an edge.
"I hadn't seen your alchemy before so I thought i'd force you to use it." she said calmly her tone obviously showing that she was impressed by his technique. Using wind to slice through other wind was interesting. "How did you manage to slice through my wind?" She did not know the mechanics behind his technique.

Murazar raised a eyebrow, his slice and dice was slower than normal. That mean't the humidity was higher in this room than out of it. Which also mean't his blows were even stronger, he had already easily sliced through her wind. But it might actually damage the walls severely. He replied trying to figure out whether to hold any specific details back or not, then just deciding to go with a general idea.
" Well, I use the compound of this dirt and throw it around the area I wish to put a dense amount of silicon in the air. Which my transmutation creates to form it as a baseline for the wind. For my combat ability, I create a wind almost invisible to the eye, denser, thicker, and sharper than any wind that could otherwise be created, and to top it off its in this enviroment almost as fast as a bullet and I can control it. Thats my wind ability anyway."
He grinned, overall he didn't even mention his flame ability yet or that the crescent winds could be flamable and combust on impact. He was incredibly far more dangerous than just with the wind.

Houka thought about this for a moment. So he used those dirt bags as a base then created a denserr sharper wind then anyone else could create using this. The fact that he mentioned that as his wind ability meant he had other abilities. She gripped her sword hilt again this time causing it to rain. However, this rain was then rapidly frozen to form hail the size of golf balls, which were blown by wind straight at Mura. The hail would be painful if it hit. Possibly, bone breakingly strong. As she watched them she thought of an idea how to make her academy even more deadly, much more deadly. A dark smile came to her face. She could in a way go back to her fire alchemy though on a different path. A path of separation and ignition rather then just flames. It would be truly interesting.
“Your power intrigues me.” She said quietly.

The rain then quickly a hail thrown at him didn't really faze him, his ignition powder with the silicon in it still gave him the full force of his flame abilities. They were unique in the fact that he didn't use ignition gloves so water didn't mean anything. He held both hands up and launched a Slice and Dice then combined it with his Conflagration flame ability.
It created a immensively powerful crescent blast the obliterated the hail and wind, he guided the blast upwards above houkas head creating a explosion into the ceiling and collapsing it partially and the rubble went down towards houka. He replied frozenly taking her more and more serious, his voice and face belied extreme concentration and seriousness." Yours is interesting, too bad i'm more combat driven than you are. That and my flame alchemy can't be weakened." He didn't even smile at a comment that he normally would have.

He was right about that. Her weather power was useful, but alone at the moment it was not as lethal as when used in conjunction with the other ice user at Briggs. She backflipped to avoid the rubble landing with her legs against the wall. As she did so she manipulated the moisture to create a dense fog and altered it slightly to make it look like she could be in one of a few places. This was done by making certain areas of the fog form a denser fog in a roughly human shape. She then launched herself off of it straight at where Mura had been trying to punch him in the chest. It was a powerful attack using the surroundings to her advantage. Houka was using her acrobatics and speed to her advantage. They were her only edge in this battle except perhaps the fog though that also dropped her own visibility and he could disperse it with his wind.
