Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss

Post by Sal Sun Sep 18, 2011 2:22 pm

Mornings were always coldest aboard the ship. The chilly air seeped through holes in the hull (which were aplenty on the ship, and they seemed to have grown with age), bringing snow with it. While it was warmer inside the Ole Miss than on the outside, the difference was too minimal to notice. One significant occurrence this particular morning was the movement inside the ship. Normally there was not a single creature astir inside the Ole Miss at this early hour, but this time, there were things to be done.

Sal ran through the ship, knocking on doors to bedrooms in an attempt to wake up the inhabitants. He was the captain, and Captain Sal had something that he wanted everyone to participate in. If they weren't in the ship, then they obviously wouldn't be participating, but he hoped that there would be at least a few people on board who were capable of assisting him with his task. It wasn't a bounty hunt, a criminal capture, or anything that involved some type of violence. Sal felt that the inside of the Ole Miss really needed some cleaning up, as it was old and raggedy. The first thing to do would be to toss out all of the junk, obviously, which he could do himself, but if there was anything that they could fix up or break apart to use the pieces for other things, then they would obviously do that. Not to mention he would need someone to go out and get cleaning supplies such as rags, detergent, some brooms, and other things of that nature.

"WAAAKE UUUUUUUUP!" he shouted through the hall with the hope that anyone who was still asleep would finally get their lazy selves out of bed and into the hall. He was going to be issuing tasks on a first come, first serve basis.

Sec was wide awake before Sal even charged around the ship. As was custom of him, he had changed out of the boxers and tank top he wore, into his much more regal white suit. Placing his medallion around his neck, and adjusting his skull-and-crossbones belt, he walked to his mirror. His hair, which he'd given up dying, was now a very dark shade of blonde, breaking down into a blonder shade as it reached the end of his emover, gradient-style. He placed his .9 in his inner coat pocket, his rapier at his hip, and his new knife in his ankle-sheath. Pausing, he took the rapier to his hands again. Reaper, it was called... A beautiful blade, he loved it. Shiny black obsidian coating... Chromatic titanium underneath. It was his sole inheritance, other than the medallion, from his grandfather, and was the only reason he even knew of his Invidia name. Likewise, his grandfather, Darkamaru Invidia III was the only man he ever looked up to, besides his Captain. (Who he had to look down at, though you get the point!) Darky III led his troops valiantly into battle, Reaper in his hand, shouting the famous cry of "Viv La Frostdeath!" Sec had recently learned of his younger brother, and actually went to meet him. Darkamaru V had inherited the nation of Frostdeath, of which Sec cared less. Why would he want a nation like that for himself? He had the Ole Miss, and that was enough.

Putting his heritage to the side, he took from his snack-sack a drumstick, cold, and began eating it, as he took a small container of chicken from the bag, and went to his door, just as Sal began making his rounds. He opened the door, with a slight smile, and handed his Captain breakfast. "Good morning Captain. Four thighs, two wings, and 6 legs. I didn't really cook them, so they'll be a bit bloody and raw, but that's how you like them, correct?" He then stood, awaiting Sal's orders, knowing the young boy never woke everyone so early without a purpose. He couldn't help but wonder as to what purpose this was...

Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss

Post by Marcelina H. de León Sun Sep 18, 2011 3:20 pm

Marcelina groaned, rolling over in her bed and hitting... a book? Fluttering her eyes open, she realized she had fallen asleep reading, again. Throwing the book onto the floor, she listened to what had woken her up in the first place. It sounded like the Captain was shouting for the crew to rise. But, why? With a sigh she rolled out of bed, her feet hitting the floor. She reached into her bedside table, pulling out a granola bar. She munched on it as she stood, going to brush her long hair. She was dressed in baggy pantaloons and a flowy tunic, her favorite sleepwear. She finished off the granola bar, braiding her hair swiftly into a large plait down her back. She then began to change, choosing to wear her long breeches. Ole Miss was always a bit chilly. She then dug out her other pair of boots, which were black with folds across the top, coming up to just under her knee. She put a heavy shirt, with a red vest over it. She approved herself in the mirror with a small smile. Reaching for a flask under her pillow, she took a quick swig. Ah, the burn of rum. It was SO much better than coffee. Sticking her head out of the door of her room, she saw Captain Sal nearing Sec's room, where he stood in the doorway. She called down to the two of them, “Mornin' Cap'n, Sec! What is all this ruckus about?

"Good morning Captain. Four thighs, two wings, and 6 legs. I didn't really cook them, so they'll be a bit bloody and raw, but that's how you like them, correct?"

Sal turned his attention to the voice. It was his First Mate, Secundinasci Amor Invidia, and quite a pleasant sight to behold. He was already dressed and seemingly ready to go. The small Ishvallan happily took the raw meat, and after taking his gloves off, tossed a thigh into his mouth, the bone giving him no trouble at all. It was all the same thing to him. "You know me too well, Sec," the boy said, nodding in response. Just then, another voice chimed, and Sal turned his head to see who it was. Marcie was poking her head out of the doorway to her bedroom, and she wanted to know what was going on. He waved a hand, signaling for her to come closer so he wouldn't have to yell through the hall anymore. It got kind of annoying, all that yelling.

"Oh, right, Sec, you might want to put something else on today. It IS a very nice suit, but we don't want it to get dirty!" Then the homunculus turned his attention back to the meat and he began eating the rest, leaving nothing behind. Raw meat was his favorite thing to eat besides people and sweets (especially doughnuts). Once he was finished, he licked his fingers and slipped his gloves back on his hands.

Sec nodded and waved to Marcelina. He was being his normal borderline-apathetic self of course. Then he turned back to Sal, and gave a hint of a smile. "Yeah, I kinda figured you'd enjoy it. Seems to be half of what you eat." He gave a slight chuckle, the kind that was always most befitting of Sec. Then, he stopped as Sal mentioned for him to change. He frowned and glanced over his suit. It WAS his favorite suit... He really shouldn't get it dirty... But still! The man did NOT make the suit! The tailor did! And his tailor was named Samantha, so the tailor was NOT a man! And also, the suit makes the man! He was about to die of his very unsecsy confusion... But then, after a long pause where his face was contorted in confusion, he shook his head, and nodded to Sal. "Of course, Captain, I'll just be a moment." And obviously, Sec went back into his room, and closed the door.

Once alone, Sec went to his wardrobe. He had... About 13 white suits... He picked them out one by one, and finally found one with a tiny little bit of thread hanging loose on the inside of the sleeve... he blinked at it and finally beamed a smile at it, deeming it appropriate for hard labor. He quickly changed clothes before walking back outside. "Okay Captain, I think I found a suit I can wear for this occasion. The most raggedy one I could find." And he smiled, a bit out of character, and awaited Sal's approval of his fashion decisions.

Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss

Post by Marcelina H. de León Sun Sep 18, 2011 11:18 pm

Marcelina watched Sal wave her over and with a groan, she nodded. “The captain had better have a good reason to pull me from my bed this morning. I'll just have to make it up later with a nice nap.” She couldn't help but mutter to herself, as she often did in the mornings... and sometimes the afternoon, even the evenings! She ducked back into her room, digging out a pair of black fingerless gloves. Not quite the style of her outfit, but she loved the things. She pulled them on and grabbing one of her many daggers, stuck it in her boot. One more swig of rum and she was out of her room, letting the door fall shut behind her.

Walking over to Sec's room, she saw Sec disappear into his room and then return a moment later wearing... the same white suit? Overhearing his comment to Sal, Marcelina couldn't help but shrug. Apparently it wasn't the same suit? Oh, Sec did have his quirks. That was for sure. She wandered down the hallway in her typical manner, casually and “flowy.” She arrived down besides Sal, leaning against the wall. She crossed her arms over her chest, sliding down the wall until she sat on the floor. “Yes, Cap'n?” She looked up at Sec and grinned, “Nice suit, Sec.

Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss

When Sec came back out of his room with a suit that looked exactly the same as the last, Sal gave him the most confused expression he could muster. The phrase that would best explain his expression would be "What is this I don't even", and even his tail dropped to the floor. The funny thing about his tail was its unnatural length. It was way too long for his body. That fact aside, Marcelina approached, and after leaning against the wall, slid down to a seating position. It made no difference to Sal what position she was in, so long as she was close enough to hear what he had to say. Clearing his throat, he began:

"I waked you all up early today because there is something that needs to get done. You two already know that Ole Miss is dirty and old, and today we are going to fix that!" Sal grinned a wide, toothy grin and looked at the two of them with a rather mischievous expression. "You two will help cleaning this place up! First, someone need to go buy cleaning stuff. Needing polish for the floors, and lots of other things...then somebody else will help to toss out all of the old junk that we don't need anymore." He took a step toward the center of the ship, then turned around again.

"You can pick who does what thing, but we need to be starting now because there is lot of work to be doing!"

Yeah... Sec didn't notice the obvious confusion in his captain upon his change of clothes. Or Marcelina's joking tone. For what was a Sec without his suit? He glanced down at his suit, and looked at Marcelina, a fraction of a smile on his face. "You think so? Thank you, but this is actually not my best suit. I just changed into this old thing to do some work around the ship." Then he listened as Sal explained the various jobs they needed down. Sec had done his best to do some of these tasks on his spare time, but it is impossible to do such things alone, and he never really had much time to do them. But the day was set to do them, and it was a team of three! Therefore, he was determined that the ship would be seaworthy by the time they were done, even if it was stuck in the ice.

With a grin of his own, Sec nodded. "I shall do the honors of cleaning the junk from the ship, sir. And I'm glad to see we are finally taking care of this issue. I see a sailing ship within little time at all." And thus speaking, Sec went off to start on the task of tasks, the almighty trashing of junk!

Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss

Post by Marcelina H. de León Tue Sep 20, 2011 11:57 pm

Marcelina shrugged her shoulders, realizing Sec was not going to get her sarcastic tone at all. She then set there puzzled as he spoke in Ishvallan to the captain. She knew that Ishvallan was much easier for the Cap'n than Amestrian but for goodness' sake! Crew meeting should equal common language. She watched as Sec spoke to the captain and then... walked away? TO DO WHAT? Marcelina groaned and began to stand. “Seeing as how I have no idea what Sec just said I'm going to pretend that he did NOT say 'I'm going for supplies.' Because that is where I'm going. Be back within an hour, Cap'n.” She gave Sal a smart salute and stopped in her bedroom, grabbing her brocade coat. She considered grabbing Parley but decided a trip for cleaning supplies did not warrant her rapier coming out. Pulling her coat over her shoulders, she was out of Ole Miss in a hurry.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An hour later, on the nose, Marcelina walked in. Her arms were weighed down by bags upon bags of cleaning supplies. She had gotten floor polish, dusting cloths, furniture polish, window cleaner, all-purpose cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner... if it had the word “cleaner” in it, it was likely she had it. She was even dragging a couple of new mops and brooms behind her. She got to the main room of the ship, noticing she was alone. Mumbling to herself in Esparian, she dropped the bags to the ground. “If they think I'm finding them with all of this stuff in my arms...” She then stood, legs braced apart. She cupped her hands to her mouth and shouted as loud as she could (which was pretty loud, actually). “AAAAAAAHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOYYYY!!!!! CREW TO THE MAIN DECK!!!!!
Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss
Post by Sal Wed Sep 21, 2011 11:59 pm
It seemed that Sec was going to take care of cleaning out all of the junk. Sal nodded happily as the aforementioned man sped away to begin his task. He knew that Sec would be able to handle tossing out junk, so there was nothing to worry about when it came to that particular assignment. In fact, Sal was confident that most of the junk would be out of the ship in a few hours if they cooperated. Of course the bulk of their time would be spent actually cleaning everything, but that was something to worry about later on, once all the junk was out. There were nice, intact pieces of furniture here and there, especially in the rooms, but the occupied rooms would obviously be off limits. Absentees would be dealt with later in a gentle manner.
Thereafter, Marcelina declared that she would be taking it upon herself to gather up cleaning supplies. That was a good thing, since Sal figured she knew more about what cleaning supplies would be useful in this situation than he did, which amounted to almost nothing at all. With a happy wave of his hand, Sal watched her exit and then began to help Sec get rid of any junk on the ship.
[AN HOUR LATER]
The majority of the ship was now free of junk. Sal had started with the deck, tossing anything that was too broken, battered, mangled, or otherwise rendered useless overboard into the snow. After that, he decided to work from top to bottom, usually putting junk onto an old sail, and then using the sail to carry the junk out as though it were a trash bag. He stopped short in his tracks when he heard a familiar voice call for the crew to the main room of the ship. With a childish giggle, Sal ran into the main room and jumped down from the highest level, landing with a thud (on his feet) in the center of the room, right in front of Marcelina. The chimera shook himself free of the dust that had built up all over him before speaking.
"Ahoy, Quartermaster! Got everything we need? We're almost done getting rid of all the junk, I think, so you can help with that or start on cleaning with the deck. The top parts are mostly cleared out already."
Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss
Post by Sec Invidia Thu Sep 22, 2011 8:07 pm
Sec went to work immediately, expecting Marcelina to go for cleaning supplies. Then, as he began his work, Sal had come to assist him, which he welcomed. Two are better than one in most cases, he thought. And Sec and Sal worked together well. Anyways, Sec began his job. The first pieces of junk he found were in a dump pile. An assortment of rotting wooden furniture, rusting metal bits and things, and mixed in some useful objects. He even found a small box with a handful of golden coins! Not many, but a good start for a band of land-locked Pirates... After giving Sal the box to hold on to, he went back to work, breaking up the wood for use as firewood, and tossing the useless scraps of metal. He then went to work on a few empty crates and in the end, between him and Sal, the junk was about cleaned up. He dumping all the firewood into a cracked bathtub he found when Marcelina returned bearing the wonders of society- Multiple cleaning solutions! Not to mention mops and such! Sec finished his work and adjusted his tie, before giving a rare smile. "Alright then, Captain, I believe we are done tossing junk. I take it we are to be 'swabbing the deck' next? Heh." He then looked over at Marcelina's arsenal of cleanliness. "Oh wow... You seem to have thought of everything..." He blinked. It wasn't often that Sec found something he so utterly sucked at as shopping for anything... So he found shopping to be a vital skill that he would need others to perform for him. Therefore, Marcelina just went up in his books!
Marcelina stood there, looking puzzled as Sal and Sec marveled at her cleaning-supply-purchasing-prowess. Was this truly so foreign to them? Apparently so. Shrugging her shoulders, she decided she would offer her thoughts on the matter. She mentally thanked her mother for forcing her to clean in her earlier years, so now she knew what to do. “Gentlemen, may I suggest we start from the top deck and work our way down? Sec, given your height, perhaps you could dust? Cap'n, you sweep after Sec, and then I will mop. Then we can polish the floors. Finally, we'll clean the bathroom and the kitchen. Acceptable?” She raised an eyebrow at the captain and first mate, awaiting their responses. As she waited, she begin to take the cleaning supplies out of the bags, organizing them. Bathroom cleaners for the bathroom, kitchen cleaners for the kitchen, and so on and so forth.
Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss
It seemed that Sec was just as impressed with Marcie's shopping skills as Sal, and the two of them had looked at her incredible stock of cleaning supplies for...some time. Sal's tail waved around involuntarily as he scanned over everything and listened to the woman give her suggestions. It made sense to the small Ishvallan, given that Sec was inhumanly tall to begin with. If he dusted, Sal would be able to sweep through without too much trouble. "Yeah, I think that is a very good idea," he said, nodding his head in approval before grabbing the nearest broom...which was a little tall in comparison. Turning back to Sec, he put a hand on his hip. "I think it is almost lunch time, so we should clean up fast! If you do not have a problem, then we should start."
Lifting the broom without too much trouble, he looked at Marcelina. She was sorting the supplies. That's when he realized something important - he really didn't have any experience with a broom....it couldn't be too hard, could it? Sal waved the tool around awkwardly, trying to get used to how it felt in his hand. It was heavier at the bottom than at the top, and the hairs on the end kind of reminded him of french fries - they were a golden yellow color, albeit a bit thinner than the real thing. Hoping that nobody was watching, he lifted the brush part up and licked it...It didn't taste like french fries. He shuddered as a chill ran down his spine. That was NOT what he had expected.
Sec nodded at Marcelina's sagely advice. So he would be dusting. That was... A thing. But he wondered what dusting involved. Perhaps the tools used for this task came with an instruction manual... It apparently also had to do with his height, so it must be something only someone large could do. Sec thought this over and then smiled and nodded to Marcelina. "Yes, I believe that your plan is well done.Hmmm... Now where in the name of Truth is the Dusting Utensil? What would one such thing actually LOOK like anyways?... Hmm. A tricky task for my mind, I see. I must choose wisely." This explained Sec pointed at various tools of cleaning, doing Eeny-Meeny-Miney-Mo. Thankfully he chose the feather duster and grabbed it, staring blankly at the feathers. Odd looking thing. Now what would one DO with a Dusting Utensil? Possibly it was used to place a light layer of dust on everything. Hmm... Where would he get this dust? He noticed that the ceiling and various things higher up in the room had accumulated massive amounts of dust. he snapped his fingers and grinned. "That must be the dust supply I am supposed to dip into! This ship will be dusted in no time flat... I just wonder why it needs to be coated in dust?" he grinned as he began scooping dust onto his Dusting Utensil. After it was totally covered in dust, he decided to take a bucket and scrape the dust into that from the Dusting Utensil. Sure he most likely looked strange to Marcelina, and maybe even Sal, but he knew not what he was doing. At least he was getting the use of the feather duster right...
He grined back at Sal, following his comment. "Heh, yeah. I think I have a few pork ribs for you today, and some chocolate mini quiches. That should be enough motivation to hurry, I think." He chuckled to himself as he carried on with his job. A little while later, he was working and turned to Sal to see how the sweeping was comming along. What he saw amused him to no ends- Sal, apparently curious about the flavor of broom used on the ship, had taken a taste-test of the broom hairs, and now held a face of disgust. Sec couldn't help but laugh, one of those rare outright LAUGHS of Sec's. "Captain, are you okay? I know you're hungry but you could have just asked me to get the snack sack out!"
Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss
Marcelina smiled as the two guys gladly took her suggestions. Grabbing the mop, she also took the bucket she bought and went off into the kitchen. She filled the bucket about halfway with warm water and mixed in the cleaning detergent. Once it grew nice and soapy she tugged the bucket back out to see that Sec and Sal had at least ATTEMPTED to start. Sec was currently collecting huge amounts of dust in a bucket. Resting her bucket and mop down for a moment, she walked over to him, clapping him on the back lightly. “Good idea, Sec! Just don't forget to dump all of that dust outside when the bucket gets full. A clean ship is a dust-free ship.
Chuckling she turned to see Sal looking at the bristles of the broom with a disgusted expression on his face. She noticed that the broom was almost as tall as he was. “Here, Cap'n. Let me fix that.” She took the broom from him and pulling her knife from her boot, cut several deep notches about one third of the way through the broom handle. With a slight grunt, she caused the broom handle to splinter and break. She did a few experimental sweeps across the floor before handing to back to Sal. “There you go. Perfect. Go ahead and start Cap'n and I'll follow behind with the mop.” She went over to her mop and bucket, holding the mop nonchalantly over one shoulder, waiting to begin her set of chores.
Shaking off the horrible flavor of the broom, the small Pirate Captain made a mental note not to do that again. EVER. Letting the hairs of the brush touch the ground again, he turned around to see Sec dusting diligently, putting the dust into a bucket. The concept was confusing to Sal, and he tilted his head in confusion just as Marcelina approached. He let her take the broom and watched as she chopped the tool down to an appropriate size for the homunculus to use. Once she handed it back to him, Sal gripped it and began to make a few sweeping motions. It wasn't so hard....
"Super Sweeper Sal, GO!" he shouted, pressing the bristles into the floor as he swept along the floor boards of the ship. At first his actions were very spontaneous and he swept haphazardly, but after a few minutes he began to get the hang of how to sweep properly. The small Ishvallan worked quickly, weaving between Sec's legs every so often - He was small enough to do that, considering Sec was quite tall to begin with. He swept under tables, between shelves, in corners, you name it. Sal felt very accomplished as he did so, and would continue until the ship's floors were free from loose dirt. The food that Sec mentioned was enough of a motivator, as he was hungry - though Sal was ALWAYS hungry - and wouldn't allow himself to eat until the ship was clean.
Sec had been dusting diligently for a bit, when Marcelina came over and patted him on the back.
Good idea, Sec! Just don't forget to dump all of that dust outside when the bucket gets full. A clean ship is a dust-free ship.
At first he was proud of himself for such an awesome idea. See? He had learned how to dust WITHOUT KNOWING HOW TO DUST! Theeen she mentioned dumping th dust, and his eyes went a bit blank, and the right side of his face twitched momentarily. "Dump... Dust? WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT!?" And, not regarding how obviously stupid he looked, he facepalmed a few times, audibly groaning at his mistake. Then he turned slowly to Marcelina and smiled a bit embarrassed by the fact he WAS going to re-dustify the ship. "Um, thank you Marcelina. Wonderful advice..." He then picked up the bucket, walked to the window, opened it, and dumped the innards of the dust-carrier over the windowsill, covering the outside of the ship in dust. Well, it was better than the inside! And the snow would clean it, eventually. So he went back to dusting.
Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss
Post by Marcelina H. de León Mon Oct 17, 2011 8:22 pm
Marcelina couldn't resist a chuckle at Sec and Sal. Both of them were so new to this cleaning business that it was quite humorous. Luckily they were getting the hang of everything rather well. Marcelina followed slowly behind the two of them, doing a thorough job mopping the floors. She wanted this floor to shine! As she mopped, she sang quietly to herself.
We ride, skysail heads into the wind! Avast all dread, for we be not who've sinned. Forty-two men corrupt atop a gangplank. Let it no be our hearts that fall to sea!
As she finished up the mopping behind the two, she gestured to the two of them. “Why don't you two eat something while I clean the bathroom? Then all will be left is the kitchen.” She smiled brightly before grabbing all the bathroom supplies and headed off to make it sparkle. She sighed as she entered the room. One bathroom on the whole ship was a little sad, but at least they did have one with warm water. She viewed the room, trying to decide where the best place was to begin.
Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss
Post by Sal Wed Oct 26, 2011 8:39 pm
Sweeping the ship had gone surprisingly quickly, and Sal felt very accomplished when he had finally held up his end of the bargain. Holding the broom in his hand and a fist to his hip, he looked over the floors, brimming with pride. He had swept it all himself, and if there was a corner that seemed unreachable, why, he used his lovely little kitty tail, which had become a gray of sorts at the tip from the dust. He'd just have to clean himself up later, after everything else was done. It wasn't long before his Quartermaster finished her job of mopping up behind him, and she suggested that Sec and Sal get something to eat while she cleaned the only bathroom on the ship. It was already sad that there was only one latrine for the entire ship, but that was an issue to be dealt with at a later date. The small Ishvallan grinned a wide, toothy grin and headed to the entrance (and exit) of the ship, calling to Sec as he stepped outside.
"HEYYY! FIRST MATE SEC! LET'S GO GRAB SOMETHING GOOD! AND WE WILL BRING SOME BACK FOR THE QUARTERMASTER!"
Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss
Sec swept the dust and sweat from his forehead as the cleaning ended, leaving only Marcelina to clean the toiletries, by herself. Sec, ever a gentlkeman, was tempted to offer that he help, but truth be told, he was starving to death. So he smiled and went along with Sal. Turning back to Marcie, he gave a small smile, the closeest to a casual grin that Sec held in his repertoire of expressions. "We'll bring you back something by the time the second poop deck has been swabbed, Marcelina!" And with that, he was out the door-thing, with Sal. Scouting the surroundings, he found his nice Mercedes where he always parks it, and gestured to Sal to climb in. After seatbelts were buckled (Because only EVIL PEDOPHILLIC VILLAINS drive without seatbelts buckled. :P) and the car was in ignition, Sec began to drive, wherever Sal's little purring-kitty heart took them...
Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss
Post by Marcelina H. de León Mon Nov 07, 2011 10:24 am
Well, either Sal and Sec were slow at getting food, or she really was the fastest cleaning expert on the Ole Miss. She took a moment, leaning on the doorjamb of the bathroom door. She could've sworn the room sparkled back at her. And it smelled so fresh and clean. Too bad it would be ruined in a few hours when she would need to shower to get all of this cleaning muck off of her. Returning her supplies to the pile on the main deck she moved off towards the kitchen. She eyed, trying to decide if it was really worth it to begin cleaning it now. Once the boys returned, they would likely create a whole new mess in there. No, definitely best to wait.
Instead, Marcelina began to move all of the supplies they had finished using to a small closet off the main deck. It had been cleared of junk and would now make an excellent cleaning-supply-closet. Content with the work she had done thus far, she bounded up to her room. Digging through her chest of supplies she grabbed not her flask of rum, but instead her large glass bottle with the cork top. For let it not be assumed that a pirate only has one bottle of rum. Definitely not. Rum always went very good with lunch. But perhaps first, a small glass of water. Taking herself down into the kitchen, she drank a tall glass of water and then propped herself up in a chair, rocking backwards on the two back legs. She sipped slowly at her rum, closing her eyes. Ah, yes. Nothing like rum for a cleaning break or... well, anytime really.
Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss
Post by Sal Sun Nov 13, 2011 5:35 pm
After getting into Sec's car, they began to drive into the more populated areas of the North, where good food was likely to be found. Sal would follow his nose and go after whatever smelled the best....or maybe whatever had the most meat....or DOUGHNUTS! Grinning with his head poked out of the car window, Sal pointed to a street that was lined with places to get food. It was as though this particular street was made just for the little glutton himself.
"That right there is the most amazing thing I've ever seen~~ Let's go in there, THERE!~" Sal chirped, as happy as a kid in a candy store. Hopefully Sec would agree that it was a good place to go, as it would likely be their only stop before returning to the ship. Besides, Marcelina was bound to finish rather quickly, and they didn't want to leave her waiting for her food. Sal knew just how frustrating it was to be left for too long without anything to eat...In fact, he probably knew the frustration better than anyone else due to his endless hunger. Maybe he's get himself some burgers...ones with incredible amounts of meat in them, or something....Yes, that would definitely do.
Sec drove onward until Sal decided excitedly on a street to get food from. Seeing the resteraunt Sal apparently wanted, Sec grinned. "Alrighty then captain, let's get some food there, if you wish." Turning into the resteraunt, he exited the car, as Sal likely did the same. Entering the resteraunt, he requested three meals to go and decided to let Sal order his and Marcie's food. Sec wasn't a people person, so Sal would be more likely to know what she wanted than he would. "I'll have a... pork chop, cooked rare. Could I also get some garlic seasoning and peppers with that? And a glass of water." Following his order and after Sal ordered, he took the food back to the car and drove back to the ship for lunch...
Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss Empty Re: Cleaning aboard the Ole Miss
Post by Marcelina H. de León Sat Nov 19, 2011 2:08 am
Marcelina heard Sec's car pull up and made the executive decision to remain sitting on her bum in the kitchen. It was a well-deserved sit down and she would enjoy it to the last. Soon enough, Sal and Sec bounded into the kitchen. Well... to be entirely honest, Sal bounded. Sec more of leisurely strolled. She rose and moved towards the bags of food. One bag was clearly full of food for the captain but the smallest of the three she correctly guessed as hers. She reached in and opened the container to find... OH! YUM. Someone, whoever had ordered, had gotten her tamales! Definitely not as good as her mother's, of that she was definitely sure. But she was sure they would satisfy her craving. “Thanks very much, mates!” She sat down and began to enjoy her meal. “All that's left after we eat is the kitchen.
She looked around the kitchen, already gauging what they would need to do. But then she quickly focused on taking the corn husk off the tamale and take a bite off her fork. Ooooohhhhh, yum. What could make this better? AH. Marcelina rose and went into a cabinet, grabbing a small glass bottle from a back shelf. Her favorite hot sauce would be the perfect addition to these tamales. She doused the tamale liberally then resumed eating. Much better!
