Libraries Contain Interesting Things...
Jay looked suspiciously back and forth as she inched her way towards the upstairs Sociological Accountancy Textbooks section. Why there was ever a section for something so stupid, she didn't know. What she did know was that she was bored, at a library, and knew a secret. The section she was headed to contained a secret stash of dirty magazines. She prided herself on being the only one smart enough to realize that boring book sections of a library never contain what they should. Instead, the shelves are foldaway, revealing a small hideyhole. Yus, that was always true. Jay found the appropriate magazine and sat huddled up by the hole, looking at the pretty pictures, letting her occasionally perverted mind wander far, far away... Until she saw a figure approaching! CODE RED CODE RED! She immediately closed her hidey hole and without really thinking shoved the magazine behind her back, which made her look awfully strange, her arms behind her back, huddled on the floor, eyes wide in surprise. Then, upon seeing some guy, instead of the librarian, she sighed and relaxed, but kept the magazine behind her back. "Sup..."

Ever blinked slowly. He had been walking past the Sociological Accountancy section and noticed the girl with the strange posture. The albino homunculus smirked and arched an eyebrow. “Hiding something?” he asked, holding a very thick book about a dusty and boring subject no one gave two shits about. Why he was holding it then? He read everything. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell.” The strangely androgynous looking man laughed, an easy smile settling on his lips. Ever, being careful set the thick book he had picked up on a shelf. He stepped closer to the girl, briefly studying her, trying to be subtle. It’s not the best idea, letting people know you’re studying them, looking for signs of anything. What was he looking for? How the hell should he know? He was just looking. Weakness, that was always good to have knowledge on. Just in case. Can’t be too careful.

Jay hesitated and finally stood up. "Eh... Oh, it's nothing. Just some magazine I found..." She musn't give away her secret stashy stash of pervyness! She looked at the book in his hand. "So you're interested in Socialogical Accountancy? I was, erm... Trying to learn more about it myself..." Let's face it. Being caught reading porn makes Jay an awful liar. Hideously awful. But she was back to herself momentarily and she examined her new aquantaince. He- Or so she assumed anyways- had paler skin than Darky, which shocked her, and had a whiteish head of hair in a unique style. He also had bright crimson eyes. But Jay found the Ouroboros on his lower neck area most interesting. He was a homunculus... But Jay wouldn't just randomly blurt it out. She slyly commented, "My name's Jay. Nice tattoo by the way. Looks familiar." It was subtle, but it would allow her to see if he caught on. In addition, Jay had a very innocent, sort of curious voice, making it seem even more subtle. She could be almost vulpinely clever when she wanted to be. Fortunately, she was packing light today. The library didn't allow weapons, so all she had was what she'd snuck in, a COP 357 in her inside uniform jacket pocket, and her trusty boot knife. She couldn't look more suspicious if she'd tried.

Ever arched an eyebrow and laughed, tilting his head back slightly, the eye generally covered by his bangs briefly made visible. “Interested in it? Not at all. I just needed something to read. I’m running out of subjects.” He smiled warmly, a perfect façade as usual. “You don’t seem like the type to read such a dry topic.” He folded his arms loosely across his chest. The easy and perfectly happy smile still on his face, but his narrowed in concentration. “Thank you, it’s a family symbol. My family’s pretty well known.” He responded. What is with this girl? Most wouldn’t pick up on it so quickly… He couldn’t help thinking, biting his lip lightly in an apprehensive manor. Ever wasn’t really a fighter. He could, sure, but he preferred using his brain, being fawned over at bars, having brief conversations with Zairen. But this, a human picking up so quickly and questioning it. That was off-putting. She sounded innocent enough, but perhaps she was an actress, just as he was an actor.

Jay smiled. "Well, they do say reading is one of the most powerful pastimes..." Jay gave a quick laugh before continuing. "And I was just eh... Browsing. I wouldn't read this if I was locked in a Sociological Accountant's Convention for a year..." At the mention of family, Jay knew who he was talking about. She again responded indirectly, subtly, and with the same innocent flair as she always did when gathering information. "Really? You know, I have seen it somewhere... I knew a couple of friends with the same tattoo. One real short guy. Proud little thing, let me tell you. Vain as they come. And the other one was always talking about his money. I also heard your Father was a pretty imprtant guy, correct? Maybe he's a government official, or a general or something?" She smiled sweetly. Luckily for Jay, she had been self-trained in the art of interrogation, assassination, and several other techniques. She was an expert at pushing questions for an answer, and not being caught, or at least not being called out on it. But also, as she became a bit more relaxed with Ever, she accidentally dropped her magazine. It's cover showed for a brief milisecond before she grabbed it again. Quickly, she covered for herself. "So, um... I don't believe I caught your name?" She gave a small grin, hoping he hadn't figured out that she had a stash!

Re: Libraries Contain Interesting Things...
Ever nodded in understanding. “I don’t know my siblings particularly well. My apologies that I can’t help in that department.” He allowed himself to lean up against a bookcase. Lust’s posture screamed relaxation, openness, trust. But his muscles were still tensed, ready to move. Trust no one. That’s the phrase he tended to live by. “But yes, my father was important.” He nodded lightly, his fingers occupying themselves with his bracelets. A nervous habit. Ever tilted his head, crimson eyes lighting up and a smirk paying at his mouth when he noted what the girl had dropped. How ironic. “Ever Silk. A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Ms…” he trailed off, prompting the girl to give him a name. His posture had shifted from leaning, to a few steps taken and one pale hand held out in silent offering. He was lust incarnate, sure, but he could still behave as a gentleman.

Jay extended her left arm- Her sparkling green automail arm- And shook his. She smiled, "Furor. Jay Furor. I've heard some about your family, but I doubt you've heard about mine." She laughed lightly. Always the charming one. It was like two beautiful scaled snakes in a pit. Jay managed to slide her hidey hole open a bit and put the magazine back in. Fortunately, she didn't think he saw it. Yes! It was HER Hideyhole! He might even steal it! Anyways, she stood up and stretched her automail legs. It was actually pretty pointless but it was a natural-born habit. "So, do you want to hang out here with me for a little bit? I'm kind of bored." She smiled nnocently, her gray eyes bright and resembling those of a naiive teenager than of a hardened mercenary with a military background. Of course, Jay wasn't looking for a date. She was simply curious to get to know Ever a bit better. Answer a few of her questions. Was he actually a homunculus? What is his sin? Can he be trusted? And she figured all of those would be answered through a little chat, maybe a meal or something. Besides: If he was gentlemanly as he was at the moment, Jay could score all kinds of free stuff! Maybe a nice lunch at a fancy resteraunt... Or some other awesome way to spend his money! Oh yeah, supposed to be figuring him out... So easily distracted!

Ever smiled lightly, absently pulling a book from a shelf and flipping through it in an uncaring manor. “My apologies, I can’t say that I have.” He offered a sorry smile. The girl seemed sweet enough, albeit a bit young. Then again, she was probably older than him. Ever wasn’t old by human standards. And he was practically a microbe by homunculi standard. Oh well. He couldn’t help the amused arch his eyebrow took on at her request. Rarely was it a girl that made the first move with him. “Why of course I wouldn’t mind. I’m on a vacation anyway, the company of a lovely lady is always welcome.” He said, a slight teasing light n his red eyes. No, the gentlemanly act wasn’t his real persona, but he didn’t much have one. He never had anyone to ‘act natural’ with. But if you wanted to say something about his real behavior, you could say he could be slightly childish. “Anything in particular you’d care to do, Ms. Furor?” and there was that gentleman’s tone again, the teasing lilt gone from his voice.

Jay laughed with a smile. "Didn't think so. I'm from Kanama, so I doubt the Furor's were very well known..." She was great at keeping up a conversation, and she was still gently probing to get some kind of good response. She was still waiting for him to, for whatever reason, admit to being a Homunculus. She had no idea why, but it seemed better than "Are you a Homunculus?" since that was obviously a bit too eh...Blunt? Yeah, a bit blunt. It needed discretion... "Great! I'm on vacation myself. Well, I was a little while ago, before I came to Central. And let me think... How does a quick bite to eat sound? Maybe find a fun place to do something afterwards, like bowling or stuff?" She smiled again, still keeping a charming persona about herself. If she hadn't had the ability to charm a plant into a tree and back, she would be killing herself then, with the extra strain of putting on the identity of some random girl who was just being normal, and casual. And somehow, she knew that Ever wasn't really as gentlmanly and charming as he put on...

“Ah. I’ve never been to Kanama. Is it nice there?” Ever asked with mild interest. It was true, he had rarely traveled to speak honestly. Oh well. Perhaps she’d tell him if the place was nice. He honestly hadn’t read much on the subject, so… well, he had no knowledge of the place. “Food sounds good, although it isn’t much… my style.” He said, putting mild emphasis on ‘my style’. If the girl knew what he was, she’d understand he was hinting that gluttony was not his sin. Of course, he was too handsome to be gluttony. And, yah know, he didn’t much have the proper physique for it, now that he thought about it. “Bowling?” he sounded mildly amused. “I’ve never been bowling. I know how to, but… is it fun?” He questioned, an excited light gleaming in his crimson eyes before fading as he mentally scolded himself. Childish behaviors, no tolerance for them. Or at least, most of his mind had no tolerance for them. That other little eighth would be jubilant to try things and just relax for once.

Jay laughed. It was a good question, and one many could ask, but the answer was so simple, to her anyways. "Well, Kanama is what you make of it. Nice place to me, to others, they act like it's the ghetto of Satan or something. But really, the gangsters and prostitutes there are really great people." She laughed again, trying to figure him out. She guessed that he had figured out her motives by now and she was trying still to figure out his. "No food? Well you don't seem too fat. Hehe, ah well, I'm not very hungry anyways. I'm a bit sleepy though. You?" She gave a good imitation of a yawn. She was still slowly pushing him. So he wasn't Gluttony, or he'd be all over the food offer. She'd met Pride, Wrath, and Greed, so he wasn't them. He was either Sloth, Lust, or Envy. And she was going to find out which if it kills her. Hopefully, it wouldn't, but hey, metaphorically speaking! She laughed a bit more at his bowling comment. "Fun? Well, I think so. It's sort of like easy, simple fun. Just roll a ball at some pins and knock em all down. It's good enough fun, anyways. Heh." She smiled cheerily again. She was getting a bit more comfortable with Ever... But she wouldn't be lured into any trap...
