Acra Empty Acra

Post by Guest Mon Feb 14, 2011 3:39 am

Flickign through the papers on her desk, Hild sighed softly. Another State Alchemist was to be initiated today. How many did that make now? She looked up at the cieling, and then decided to pick up the new State's file. She opened it slowly, and smiled. So, it was a Mr. Acra Schiwatas. Now, if she didn't know any better, she was pretty sure that he was assigned under Spade. Gee, three State Alchemists under Central, and only the one in Briggs... Who she was sure was now MIA. She moved a hand to her forehead, and then looked through his file more.

23 years old... and that was all that she needed to know. Alright then, time to see if the man was here! She put a finger onto the intercom button, and spoke clearly to her secretary.

"Claudia? Is Acra here yet?"

"No, ma'am."

"Okay. Let me know when he has arrived." As the intercom died away, Hild found her hand on her forehead again. He was a Central soldier! Was it so hard for him to be in CENTRAL?! She reached down to the drawer beside her leg, and inspected the watch and certificate within. That it was, and Acra should be grateful. He only just managed to make the cut... There was one point in it.

"Hild, ma'am, Acra is here." The intercom crackled to life, and Hild smiled softly, placing a dainty finger onto it's "talk" button.

"Thank you. Send him in now, please. Tell him I'm ready to see him."

Acra apologised to the receptionist for his lateness. His brother took to long to lecture him on his hands. During the exam he managed to show his new skill and had in one move completely burnt the glove out and scolded his own hand rather badly. No alchemy for a week. Time to consider a better material glove. He gave a sigh running a hand through his fringe and knocked on the door waiting for it to open.

When the door opened he walked in and bowed. “Sorry my Fuhrur. I was delayed by my doctor though that is no excuse for my lateness.” He said in a polite tone. Standing straight he stood waiting for the next order. He looked over the Fuhrur with great respect. Wondering what she had called him up for. It was too soon for the state exam results right? He was a bit nervous and his bandaged fingers twitched in the need to run through his long fringe. But he stood straight as a trained solider watching the fuhrur ready for the next order or request.

Hild tilted her head to the side, watching the young man in all his nervousness. Hm. He looked like he was shitten' some bricks, huh? So he should be, in front of any other Fuhrer. But not Hild. She was far too kind, far too sweet to be scary. So, she stood up and walked over to the man, inspecting him lightly. Hmm... bandaged hands. She'd heard about his Alchemy, how it was painful for him to use properly. She sighed softly, and walked right up to the man.

"Acra Schiwatas, correct? Soldier of Central, and a user of fire-based Alchemy? My name is Hild. Hild Schwarz. If you address me as anything more formal than Ms.Schwarz, I will stab you with my trident." She poked her tongue out at him, and returned to her desk, sitting down.

"You are here because you applied to become a State Alchemist, and took the test, correct? Well, Acra, I am pleased to tell you that you have passed the test, with a single mark over the closest candidate. Congratulations, and count your lucky stars." She smiled softly, and waited for the man's response.

She walked to him telling him how he should address her. He gave a curt nod to her questions finding it would have been rude to interrupt her when she was talking. He suddenly stopped when she said he passed. Sure by a single mark. He knew he could of done better but fair to him he was bleeding rather badly. And the smell of cooked skin is not one that is easy to ignore. He bowed again. “Thank you very much Ms. Schwarz. I am honoured that I was chosen.” He stood tall again and continued to watch though he was twitching in excitement. The list of people to tell was being written in his mind. He would tell Shula first. Seeing his phone was in his office. So it make sense to go visit the girl first. Also he wanted her to know first. Turning his attention back to Hild waiting for further instructions.

They were always the same: all excited at having being chosen. Really. They couldn't feel any other emotion than excitement? AND he called her Ms.Schwarz. Even though she had asked him to do that, she still felt it to be slightly too formal for her tastes... But, no. She just sat there, watching him carefully for a few more seconds. He had the look of a man in love about him, she could just see it in his eyes. Wonder who that is? She giggled softly, before retaining a professional demeanor, and reaching down to her desk.

"Alright." She opened the drawer by her leg, and brought out the page and the watch with a small smile. She brought it up onto the table, and looked up at the tall man, and nodded.

"Your watch, and your certification. You will be known as the Fahrenheit Alchemist, a fitting name for one with a fiery strength, my friend. Do you have anything you wish to say, before we continue on with this?" She smiled brightly and tilted her head.

Acra bowed. “Really Thank you for choosing me for this honour…” He said calmly. This was proof to his father and the world that he could get somewhere on his own intelligence and strength. So many times he could of just bailed out taken a role in the company and lived a rich play boy life. One of his brothers already did. But no…this was true joy. He reminded himself to get Wallace to send Hild a box of nice chocolates and flowers as a thank you.

He stood waiting for the rules just staring down at the pocket watch as though touching it would make the metal object explode. His new name echoed in his head Fahrenheit… his lip twitched into a grin. He liked it. He nodded his head. “Yes please continue. I’m sorry to keep you waiting.” He said let her continue with much joy in his chest.

"Alright. I just have a couple more things to tell you - nothing too trivial, just the rules required for you to be a good State Alchemist." She smiled at the man, and then cleared her throat, going through the three rules that she had gone over with each and every State Alchemist that she had ordained.

"Firstly, you must obey the Military - namely me. You have your superior officer, but my word is above his in all instances. If I require you to fight within Briggs, or move to the East, you will do so without hesitation, without question. If I, god forbid," The girl shuddered slightly at this part, "ask you to kill any one of the other members of Central for treason, you will not hesitate.

Next, you must refrain from creating gold. It is a matter of the balance of Amestris and it's citizens. We cannot have every Alchemist richer than the richest without trying. It kills the balance.

Finally, no human creation. You know what I mean - human transmutation is, and always will be, forbidden. If you are discovered with some form of human transmutation, you will not only be stripped of your rank, but courtmartialed as well. Be forewarned."
She nodded, and then checked her calender, the petite girl sighing softly at the date. That late in the year, already? She looked back up at Acra.

"The date today is the 14th of February. You will be required to undertake a yearly show of your research. If you do not do so, you will be stripped of your rank, and returned to a normal Alchemic soldier. Understood?"

Nodding slightly at the first rule. It was something he had been told when he first sighed up. If war was declared he would have to fight. Or as the man had told him. “Daddy’s money and your pretty face won’t save you from being sent out to war.” He understood it was part of this job. The idea of having to kill a friend disturbed him but it was something he hoped wouldn’t happen.

He must of pulled a face at the second rule. Seriously he had access to enough money without having the need to make more. But I guess she was right. Counterfeiting was a pain enough for his father at times. He remembered when someone who had stayed a long time at a hotel of there’s not only had they stayed in a top expensive room. But had dined like kings and had full spa treatments. Once they left they had paid a large sum of cash. Only to have the bank to declare the notes counterfeits. His father was more then just miffed. He had started a no cash policy then.

Human transmutation had always been a forbidden path. And he knew this well. He nodded again. “Understood.” He confirmed. This topic was short and to the point. He was defiantly not going to try something so terrible and disturbing on enough human being.

The yearly show was also pretty to the point. Each year he have to show them some new research. This was understandable. State alchemist’s got big research grants. You couldn’t have people receiving that money and doing nothing to proof themselves worthy. He gave a nod. “Yes I understand next year I will be sure to show you something to proof I am worthy of this title.” He saluted politely and waited for the next order.

"Good. I expect great things from you, Mr. Schiwatas." The petite girl smiled at Acra, and then took her seat once more. There were no other matters that she had to discuss with him? Good. She smiled to herself, and then pressed a button on the intercom.

"Please show Acra the door. Also, make sure to give him the paperwork that he needs on his way out."

"Yes, Hild." Came the static-laden reply. Hild smiled softly, and then looked back up at Acra.

"Thank you for taking the time to come and visit today, Acra. I'm glad that you're a welcome addition to the team of State Alchemists. I hope to see more from you in the future. Also from Shula. Tell her I said hi~" The Fuhrer poked her tongue out coyly at the man. Nothing escaped her watchful eye. Even if things weren't happening just yet, she could see that there was something there. It... lead her back to memories of Aurel. The woman bowed her head after Acra had left.

Aurel... She really hoped that she could talk to him like she had before. There was nothing greater than a love for one close to you. Even if it killed her, Aurel was the one she had chosen for herself. That was something that she respected. That wasn't going to change. No, never.

He smiled holding the watch close. Almost scared that letting it go meant it would disappear. He nodded to the small girl and smiled. “Thank you. I will do my best to not disappoint you. “ He said being sure he would be the best that he could be.

Listening her on the intercom. He had expected paperwork. Letting a sigh out through his nose he twitched his fingers in distaste. He hated paperwork with a passion. Heading to the door he heard Hild’s comment and blushed. “Ah…I’ll pass on the message.” He said with a shy grin. He touched the handle on the door. Then stopped turning. “Oh…..Happy Valentines day.” He said smiling to her before heading out.

Reaching out he took a wade of paperwork from the receptionist as he walked out the office. “Thanks…” He groaned and sighed heading to his office to get these done. Looking to the watch he smiled. “ Well…you are worth it.” He whispered.
