DESCRIPTION:
→ Sofia is as fragile as grass is the color blue. Point is; she’s not. One the outside Sofia is very petite and put together. She is extraordinary odd looking, but highly attractive. Most men turn their heads not because of her looks, but of how odd her characteristics are. However, on the second glance one would easily be attracted to her. The strange girl isn’t one to flaunt the hand she’s been given, but she does know how to get what she wants with the cards she’s been dealt.

Sofia’s hair is as dark as charcoal, reaching midway down her back. It’s naturally straight, with a slight waving feeling towards the tips. The girl’s glossy, silk feeling hair comes from the amount of time she spends keeping it clean and well kept. On a regular day, Sofia will most likely have her hair in pigtails. However, she has been seen wearing it down straight, or in a different manner than the tails. Some would assume Sofia is quite young when she’s wearing her hair in pigtails, but in reality she’s in her mid twenties. Deception is a big part of what makes her able to acquire things she needs in life. If she needs to look young for protective reasons, she can easily pass as a juvenile. Or the complete opposite; if she needs to pass as an adult she will change her attire to match the matter completely.

One thing that makes Sofia so odd from the normal person is the fact she only has one working eye. Her right eye is perfect, while her left is completely blind. Unlike others, she chooses to wear a bizarre patch. Deer bones molded over her orbicularis oculi and both eyelids, with a thin black patch covering her failed cornea. Some call is weird, abnormal, or eccentric, but to Sofia it’s who she is and it’s part of her life nowadays. Her right eye is a rose color that helps draw the viewer’s attention away from her skull-like left eye.

Sofia is extremely petite; however don’t be fooled by her lack in strength. The girl is pure muscle and can hold her own in any given situation. Skeletal wise, she is rather small framed and slender, and barely reaches a normal man’s chest. Sofia has a toned abdominal region, medium size breast that fit perfectly with the structure of her body.

Her voice is stern, but fairly high pitched. If needed, she can speak over anyone and everyone in a crowded room. Preferably, she chooses to stay calm and mellow and not raise her voice.

Keeping with her rather out of the ordinary look, she wears a bikini like vest that wraps around from the back to the front. Baring her sternum and the sides of her breast to the public. It extends up around her neck, forming a v-shape collar and strapless sleeves. Along with the bikini top, she has a matching colored pleated skirt that ruffles out in all different directions with a black bow in the front. Sofia loves to wear heels, especially high-heeled boots that reach well above her knees. The girl adores arm gloves that fit perfectly between her wrist and her right above her elbow.

...........................................................................

PERSONALITY:
→ On the outside, Sofia is extremely put together and confident in everything that she does. However, deep down she has worries and woes that never quite vanish from her mind. Around others she doesn’t quite know, she can put up a harsh front. She isn’t afraid to take charge of a given situation and control it. She is an extremely extroverted type of person, and loves to be in the spotlight. Part of that derives from the fact that she enjoys working. Hard work will pay off any debt that comes with life. Sofia believes that a person must work for a position, the wealth, and their possessions in order to be truly thankful for the small things in life. Being spoiled or showered with gifts isn’t what she is interested in. In school, Sofia was always the one who raised their hand first, knowing the answers immediately. For the most part, teachers never really had to grade her test, because she spent so much time studying the material that she knew it flawlessly.

On the inside, there is a completely different story. Sofia has moments of vulnerability, insecurity, doubts, flaws, self-consciousness, and pain just like anyone else. If one truly knows her, they know when she is lying because of the guilt that radiates from her body language and eye. In spite of this, Sofia has a great poker face to those that are in authority. She can make deals and bargains with the best of them, and is extremely dedicated to her duties.

Honesty is a big factor in who she is and those who she surrounds herself with. Those that she calls friends, know her well because of the fact that she can’t a she’s done wrong from them. If she did, she’d feel too guilty and eventually tell them anyways. The people she works with know that Sofia is an honest person. She expects those around to notice that and abided by the same moral guideline that she does.

In the past, Sofia has been known to get annoyed easily with people who aggravate her. For the most part, she isn’t too patient. If someone can’t do something fast enough, she’ll do it herself. Excuses are a big ‘no, no’ with her. In life, yes there are things that come and go, but making an excuse just to make one is pathetic in her eyes. If you can’t do it, just say so and let her handle the problem or situation. If a person is not on time, it would be better to just not show up to meet her anyways. She’d be in such a bad mood, that it would be pointless to speak with her.

Part of her may come off as cocky and arrogant, but a lot of the time it's an act. She feels a lot of the time she has to defend herself from many attacks. Primarily because of different stereo types people draw of her. In her eye, she thinks people are judging her because of her looks and her size. This part of her makes it extremely hard to make a personal connection with her. But once you make that connection, you have it for life in her eye. She won't abandon you as a friend no matter the situation.

Those that are close to her our possessions in her eyes. They are hers and no one else’s. Sofia prides herself in taking care of those around, and doesn’t appreciate losing friendships. If she makes the time to open up to you, it means she cares for you and longs for fellowship. Most would consider this selfishness, but she sees it being beneficial to them in the long run.

Unlike many other women, Sofia makes it hard for one to date her. This is due to her past and the experiences she’s hard throughout life. If one were to open up that layer of heart again, she’d be theirs instantly. Romance is not something she finds useful, but can’t help but wonder what it would be like to be married again. Sofia has many dreams of one day being a wife again, but for now it just doesn’t seem like it will happen.

Her main goal is to keep the Western HQ up and run. She strives to bring integrity, honesty, loyalty, and strength to her comrades. Sofia will charge into battle with them, and protect them with her life. That's the type of leader Sofia is, it was how her husband was. He made it possible for her to become the strong military leader that she is now.

Sofia loves family dinners! The girly side of her takes command, and she loves to keep people in her care. Being in control of the Western HQ, Sofia man it a tradition that every sunday night will be 'family night'. This is where everyone comes together and has a sit down dinner with one another. Family dinner is something that will make the bad days go away, and allow the troubles to be temporarily wipes away.

The side that is rarely seen from Sofia is her naive, innocent side of her life. Whenever her father comes around, Sofia is his little girl. He's the only man that is currently in her life that brings tears to her eyes. If she needs to cry on someone's shoulder, she knows 100% that she can cry on her fathers shoulder. For this reason, she tries her hardest to not allow her father to be with her at the Western HQ. She make small trips here and there to visit her father, but that's it. Her father is the only person that knows of guilt that Sofia feels in life. That guilt is so strong, and has a tight clamp on her heart. The pain from trying to bring her husband to life is unforgivable. In her mind, she can't move past that. When she sees her father, that's something she instantly feels.

Lastly, Sofia is often heard quoting lines from her favorite poem ‘Life is like a butterfly’;
“I sit upon a dream, patiently waiting for it to bloom. Nurtured it for a long time, with all things good. From a cocoon that I built around myself, I changed into a beautiful little butterfly, waiting to soar into the light of the day, taking my dream along with me.”

...........................................................................

HISTORY:
→ As a child, Sofia was raised in a middle class family. Her father was a businessman and her mother was a home caretaker. Plain and simple, just how she enjoys life to be. She was an only child, but was never spoiled. Everything she owned, she worked hard for. Sofia knew her parents would give her the things she desired, but she felt the need to work for her own belongings.

During most of her childhood and nowadays, her father is an extremely influential person in her life. She looks to him for everything, especially wisdom, guidance, and acceptances. He is a great man that works hard daily to provide the needs for his family. Her father loves his mother so much that she knew she would longed for that kind of connection with the man she would eventually marry. Sofia still has a great respected for her father, and the way he treats those around. He is a leader in many aspects of life, and knows how to handle any given situation that arises. No matter what, she knows for a fact she can count on him to rescue her in need.

Her mother is a sweet woman that treats everyone like they’re her own. Growing up, during the difficult years of being a pubescent, Sofia relied heavily on her mother for support. Teaching her the laws of womanhood, and how to control her body. Her mother is a gentle lady, and is well represented of what a women out to act like. Her mom always made the best dinners in all the town, that children Sofia’s age would line up to have a chance of her mothers glorious meals.

Growing up with such wonderful parents, really impacted Sofia’s life. She was raised with conservative morals and values. They sent her to a private school, giving her the best possible education known in Amestris. Like noted earlier, she was a highly intelligent young lady. Sofia worked hard for the grades to earned throughout schooling, and spent many nights studying late into the morning. At school, she wasn’t the most popular or the least like. She was a normal girl, with a normal life. Now, this wasn’t a bad thing to her, she loved it! If she had a chance to go back to school and change the outcome, she wouldn’t.

When she was young, Sofia had an irrational love for military men. A solider was the most attractive thing a man could do as a career, and she made a promise to herself that she’d marry one no matter the risk.

That’s exactly what Sofia did. After completing school she found a military General and fell head over heels for the man. At the age seventeen, Sofia married General Addler of the Amestris military. General Addler was a strong willed and determined man that had his eye on taking control of the West HQ for Amestris. The Western Branch of the military was his goal, and he wanted so badly to become the Brigardier General over it. Sofia was thrilled with being such a young wife, and had all the dreams in the world of being a mother. She knew of his goals, and told him constantly she would help him achieve his dreams just how he had done to her.

Six months into their marriage, Sofia’s husband attracted a fatal disease. He was immediately hospitalized, and put on all sorts of medicines. The General had cancer in brain, and it didn’t look like a great outcome. This cancer came at a bit of a shock to Sofia, because her husband hadn’t shown any symptoms of being sick months before. Addler went through radiations and had chemotherapy done to help stop the syndrome. Nothing seemed to help, and the battle was turning for the worse. The months went on, and Addler begun losing his memory. This came at quite a shock for Sofia, losing the man whom she married.

During this rough part of her life, Sofia had to think ahead. She knew if her husband had passed, she would eventually need to find a job of her own to provide for herself. Barely legal, Sofia applied for the military and began training in basic during the days and at night she was granted permission to visit the General in the hospital. The days were long and the nights were tough, but she fought through all the pain and suffering. At this point, the tears in her eyes faded and she knew they wouldn’t settle anything life had to throw her way.

It was hard on Sofia, harder than she expected. Part of her was missing, completely gone and wipe away from her life. She was a widow now, at the age of twenty-one, she was a widow. After a military based burial, Sofia was determined to find a way of bring her husband back to life. There had to be a way, someway and she was going to find it.

Soon after the death of the General, Sofia graduated basic training and went on to further her career in the military. She became obsessed with achieving the dreams of her husband, and wanted so badly to take control of the Western HQ and become the Brigardier General over the military in the rocky-based terrain. Day after day, Sofia trained and eventually became the best solider she could at this moment in her life.

As her time in the military passed on, she grew fond of everything it stood for and most of the people who worked under her. There was a time during the war with Creta that Sofia was in the midst of a dangerous battle. She had lost a couple of soldiers underneath her, and the situation wasn’t looking great. Sofia was on the third floor of building, waiting to ambush Cretan military, when all of a sounded the building exploded in a dangerous fire. Flames were burning everywhere from the bombing that had occurred moments ago. Sofia tried her best not to panic, and looked around for a solution. She was trapped in the stairwell. “I’m not going to die!” She remembers clearly screaming that before racing down the stairs and eventually jumping the last flight of stairs. Upon landing, a giant broken shard of glass sliced through the bottom of her boot, and slit open the bottom of her left heel. The intense sharp feeling was shocking, as it sent a way of nerves throughout her body. It had caused an irrational amount of pain to the soldier, something she hadn’t felt in a long time. She slowly begins to stumble out of the building, shrieking in agony, before fainting on the bloodstained sidewalk of the burning building.

The next day, she woke up in the Amerstrain hospital, completely unaware of what had happen the day before. Her leg was in a tight brace, making it impossible for her to see what the bottom of her foot looked like. The doctors came in and told Sofia the diagnosis of her foot, and how it was not permanent. The widowed girl ended up just being out for a month or so, until her stitches completely healed.

By the age of twenty-one, Sofia began dabbling in alchemy, becoming highly infatuated with the ability to create something from something else. She knew in the West that it primarily a rocky terrain, and her best chances were to begin with rock-based alchemy. Being a bright student and a fast learner, it didn’t take long before she knew how to manipulate rocky substances into a lethal ability. Her transmutation circles are located on both palms of her hands. There were rumors of a way to transmute a substance without the ability of a transmutation circle. Sofia went on a quest to master that rare skill, searching high and low for the ancient scrolls and books that would teach her how to conquer that highly valued ability.

What she found out during her research of the alchemy, was something called human transmutation. This is exactly the thing she was looking for! With this ability, she’d be able to bring back her husband and her life would be back to normal. The process of creating a human transmutation was hard, and the chances of her succeeding weren’t high. Nonetheless, Sofia was determined. It was the only option she had at this critical moment in her life. The days grew dual and boring in her eyes, as she kept her focus at reading everything and anything she could get hands on about human transmutation. In the past, only a couple of people had open ‘the gate’ and seen ‘the truth’ of it all. Edward Elric, the famous ‘Fullmetal Alchemist’ was one of the men who succeed in opening the gate. If he could do it at such young age, shouldn’t she be able to? That’s exactly what she thought, but her efforts seemed useless.

Sofia spent months researching constantly. All the while her heart was racing because of knowing her husband would be back. The young girl knew the military would throw her into prison if they knew what she was attempting to commit. This was completely confidential. TOP SECRET! Sofia knew the young lady who worked in the library of the military, they went to high school together and were pretty good friends. With this connection, Sofia was able to manipulate the librarian to see the restricted section. It was here where she found most of the information needed. As she continued her researching, she found records upon records of all the failed attempts at completing this unforgivable transformation. In spite of this, Sofia plainly ignored the warning signs. Her mind was made up, and she wasn’t about to lose this opportunity.

There were countless tries in which she failed, and Sofia grew so exhausted with it all. Many nights, Sofia locked herself away in her bedroom and wept about the challenging task she was determined to achieve. Was it all worth it? Yes, in the long run it would be worth it. Her husband would be here, the man she loves deeply. Could she give up? Not a chance! Sofia would be too disappointed with herself to give up that dream. Over the months, Sofia realized she didn’t have all the right material. She needed everything perfect in order to create a human. Sofia spent weeks and weeks collecting the right material, secretly hiding them away in her apartment.

On a blistering fall day, everything seems to be perfect. The chemistry was all there, and she humbly draws the human transmutation circle with a piece of chalk on her tiled floor. With both eyes wrenched shut, Sofia places both hands on the transmutation circle. Upon impact, the circle illuminated a bight neon color, and sent a wave of energy throughout her body. This energy felt the same as when she sliced open her foot! Tears began dropping down her cheeks as she held onto the circle with all her grasp. The next thing she knew when she finally opens her eyes, was a room completely white and a giant gaint standing in front of her. Was this real? It had to be, but why did she feel guilt about the whole thing? Something inside of her told her to run, but where would she run? She didn’t even know where she was. A soothing voice called out her name, and began rattling off a list of things. It was hard to keep track of what the voice was saying, mainly because of the racing of her heart. A variety of thoughts ran around in her mind, including the possibility that she was dead. Sofia screams out in agony at the thought, just as the doors of gate began opening, roaring like hundreds of lions. At this moment, she didn’t care what happened to her. Sofia knelt down, and tucked her knees against her chest as tears fell down her face.

All Sofia could think about was her husband. His gleaming smile and warm embrace that she felt every time he held her. In a bit of hysteria, Sofia screams out her husband’s name. Whenever she had cried in the past, it was either her father or her husband that would support her in the time of need. Right now, all she wanted was her husband. As she sat weeping tears of sorrow, she felt something warm inside of her heart. It was like her husband was reaching down from the heavens and giving her personal comfort in the time of pain. Why did she do this? Sofia wondered to herself over and over, as the time seemed to go by so slowly. Inside the gate, streams of black hands reach out and pull against her body. At first she tried fighting back with all her will, but it was useless. After awhile, the fighting was pointless, she knew she couldn’t win against it. Sofia slowly drops her guard, and drops her head back down into her palms. It was the first time Sofia quit something.

The ‘world’ around was fading as she fell through ‘the gate’, and all she could do was cry. Sofia slowly opens her eyes once again in her apartment. However, as she did, her left eye was completely black. Light from her surrounding place wasn’t being drawn in by the rods and cones in her eye. A panic went through the girl once more, as she raises her hand to her eye and blood was seeping down the side of her face. The eye was missing completely, and now there was a hole in place of an eye and she couldn’t see. Blood oozed down her cheek, dropping to the floor. Drop by drop the bleed fell off her cheek. What had she done? Her breathing quickens as she continues to panic in the heat of the moment. Sofia felt weak, completely sick to her stomach at the situation.

A large pounding came from the door, and Sofia immediately turns around scared and confused. As soon as she did, she wish she hadn’t. There on her tile floor, was a hideous looking creature. The smell was unbearable, attacking the senses inside her nostrils. It taste worse than vomit, as she attempts not to swallow the sickening smell. The creature was lying there, withered and old. Blood was smeared across its body, and it could not move. Was this her husband? Sofia falls to her knees once more, starring at the lifeless creature before her.

“S-Sofia” The thing shrieks in agony, barely able to extend and arm out towards her. The young girl shrieks once more in fear and agony and attempts to slowly back away. Her back presses firmly against a counter in her kitchen, she was trapped. With her back firmly pressed against the cabinet doors she stares at the soulless body. This is not what she had planned, and she instantly wishes she could rewrite what she had just committed. Inside her chest, her heart was on fire from the guilt and humiliation.

Another pounding came from the door, before it busted open. It was her dad; he was coming over for dinner since he hadn’t seen his daughter in a while. His eyes were in shock, just like hers. First from the creature withering away on the ground, and second, from his daughter completely covered in blood. He leaped over the creature and swooped his baby girl up into his arms, carrying her out of the blood stained kitchen. That was the last thing Sofia remember before waking up a couple days later.

Sofia woke up in her childhood bed, completely unaware of what had happen days before. It didn’t take long before she realized her left eye was completely black and she couldn’t see any light through the blood stained bandages. Her father and mother were both sitting in her bedroom, passed out in rocking chairs. They were both dozed off into a deep slumber. Their daughter slowly reaches her hand out, and lightly rubbed the top of her father’s hand. Her dad had saved her, if she remembers correctly. He came to her rescue, just how he always did when the time was rough. He wakes up from the light touch and stares at his beautiful daughter. He mouthed the words ‘I love you’ before getting up to hug his princess. Upon this action, her mother quietly woke up and smiles. Her baby girl was finally awake after a terribly accident. Her mother explained the situation, and how she had to secretly bring in the local town doctor to access the problem. Sofia threw her head back into her pillows and began to cry once again. One would think her tears would be dried, but they weren’t. If the military found out about this, she would lose her position and would be in jail for who knows. In the midst of her woes, her parents comforted her and finally convinced her that the military wouldn’t have a clue of the whole situation.

By the time Sofia was brought home her apartment, it was completely cleared away from everything. The floors were new and completely stainless. It was like nothing had happen, things were wipe away. Sofia knew it was from her dad, and she was completely thankful for that. The nightmares still occurred from the fateful evening, but Sofia knew she couldn't dwell on the past. This was something she would have to deal with, along with adjusting to a lifestyle without an eye.

Months later, Sofia took advantage of being blind and created her own unique eye patch made from bones. This defect was not going to stop her goals of becoming the Brigardier General of the West. If anything, the disability made her that much stronger, and sent a trigger to her brain that she would have to work that much harder for the position she desired. She went on and stayed with the military, training harder than ever. Keeping it a secret about that night she attempted to bring back her husband.

Time passed and Sofia was eventually promoted to being the Brigardier General of the West. Something she had worked half her life to achieve. Upon receiving this honor and duty, Sofia knew secretly deep down, her husband would be proud of her. It was her responsibility to effectively control the Western Military Branch, and how it operated and ran. She enjoyed the duties thoroughly, and held the position with great care. By her fellow comrades, Sofia is highly respected. Mainly because she does whatever she can to protect and serve them. Her mindset as General is to serve and work together with one another. If she can’t serve them to her fullest, then why would she expect the same in return? In her mind, a good leader is someone who has people that follow them.

The secret of that dreaded night still lurks in the back of her mind, and she knows now the consequences of the effect. It’s hard to admit she was wrong in what she had tried to do, but life has to move on. Still, to this day, Sofia has a tremendous amount of guilt that has built up over the years from attempting to bring her husband back to life. However, deep down she understands that her husband has forgiven her for her past mistake.

Only time will tell what’s in store for Sofia….

ALCHEMIC/ALKAHESTRIC ABILITY:
→ A rock has two characteristics, it's a solid and it forms naturally. They usually contain two or more minerals in its genetic makeup, varying in proportions. The earths crust is generally made up from 30 different minerals, all varying on what kind of surface a person is standing on. (i.e sedimentary rocks, igneous rocks, or metamorphic rocks)

Rocky based mineral: (Sedimentary Rocks, Metamorphic Rock, Igneous Rocks)
The most common group in the earth's surface is Silicates. Everything in this group contains oxygen, silicon, or with calcium carbonate. With this ability, Sofia is able to manipulate the amount of calcium carbonate used to create a material to either attack or defend with. She could create a wall from the ground to defend herself from an attack. Or she could pull out a spear from clay, harden it, and attack with it.

In everyday life, calcium carbonate is used in most physical substances. (i.e Clay, limestone, sandstone, chalk, and etc..) With this alchemy, Sofia can create something from any hard physical substance that is rock based. Primarily in cities, she could create something from bricks (clay), cement (limestone), the paved road, a chalk drawing on the ground, granite.

If she were out in the wilderness, she's be able to use her alchemy on mud, rocky cliffs, clay, basically anything that's a rock based mineral. So she could not use her ability on water, air, wind, wood, or fire.

REVISE

A BEAUTIFUL app! And it seems to be at the required level for Circle-less Alchemy as well... I just have a little problem with this, s'all.

  • If you want to be able to use Alchemy without transmutation circles, there's one thing that you HAVE to do. You must see the Truth, which means calling up the Gate and paying Truth's toll. That is usually done with Human Transmutation, and I'm afraid it is generally a must with this. So you're going to have to really re-vamp your history and somehow work this in, if you're still willing to get this level of Alchemy.

Although it's not a real problem, per se, I'm a little iffy about your Alchemy itself. How does Sofia do this? I can sort of see the scientific principles behind it, but I wouldn't mind just that little bit more detail. Although Alchemy can be used as a means to make things that much easier to do, it makes things better if there is still science behind it. Just a little more detail, please? ^_^

That's all, thankyee.

So it's manipulation of minerals through touch? Okay... looks good to me.

I'm not 100% signing off on this, sorry. Not for a power like this. I need Aki's approval as well - just so we're sure that it's good enough.

I'm just not certain enough about your history still, that's all, and I'd rather her opinions be taken into account ^^;

That's okay, I understand completely. Just know, I'm dedicated to this character and her ability. I'll change whatever needs to be changed in her history! I have a lot of ideas to use up.

REVISE

1. Personality: You need 300 more words. So like around 900 words total. Celesto's is 1k, but I'll cut you a break.
2. History: You need 500 more words. ^^; I'm cutting you a break here too. Celesto's is 3.2k.
3. You need to add how she became the Head of West HQ.
4. Also you mention that the doctor says she'll never regain sight. ...she's missing an entire eye. XD isn't that obvious!?
5. You need to say that she ignored all the warning signs of past failed Human Transmutation.
6. Here's a major problem. She went to a hospital after the act... the military would find out about that and she would be arrested immediately. You need to revise that so that NO ONE knows what she did or else she'll never be able to become the Head of West HQ.
7. Alchemic Ability: "With this ability, Sofia is able to manipulate the amount of oxygen, silicon, and calcium carbonate used to create a material to either attack or defend with." Pick ONE. Though you can do stuff without transmutation circles, you are still level one and thus only have one ability.

Note: Good, we need a West of HQ head! I request upon approval that you join the mission. I'm going to require this. ;D

All in all, AWESOME. I can't wait!!~~ We need to actually rp this time. =3

Okay, I believe I have added and fixed things. I highlighted the beginning of each sentence in my history to show the things I have added!

As for my alchemy, I just simplified it and said she manipulates the amount of calcium carbonate!

I hope this works...

Sorry, I'm at work doing this. So if I forgot something else, just let me know and I'll continue to edit it!

Perfect.

1. Are you allied with Reila? It seems that way~
2. Are you joining the mission?
3. Make a West HQ post in the Classifieds section. Copy the set-up of Central's.

PM me!
