BRIEFING:
→ The transmutation circle located on Ryu’s back, in between his shoulder blades, is a basic circle with elemental fire qualities to it. It has darkly colored and bold lines radiating out from it; showing the unpredictable movement of fire and its swirling behavior. But along with that it shows its power and strength above all else.
Ryuichi's powers are very much so linked to his ancestor's, Roy Mustang, however their techniques are extremely different. While both use the element fire, the differences stand in how they actually create the fire and use it. The power from the circle moves to both shoulder and travels down right to the palms of his hands; where the fire is created and concentrated.
The science behind Ryu’s alchemy powers requires him to know the basics of alchemy, chemical compounds, air pressure, and Newton’s physics when regarding movement. Knowing the air pressure allows him to create to flame much like Roy does, only he does not need a snap for friction to do so. Instead he changes the air density based on the current air pressure and uses the electrostatic charges built up in his body to ignite a flame. From there his transmutation circle creates a full blown flame that he is able to control in the palms of his hands. The circle also uses alchemy to protect his hands from getting burned, a chemical reaction he uses to change the makeup of his biological composition in his hands. This allows fire to rest in his hands without charring the flesh. Newton’s Laws of movement are required knowledge so that he can properly control the fire and its movements, even though they’re often unpredictable. Ryu is the closest anyone has been to effectively controlling fire’s movements and willing it to go a certain way.
His alchemy’s weakness would be rain, because as any flame alchemist knows, fire cannot work properly in rain. Ryu’s powers cannot move wildly or attack effectively like they normally do in wet weather. The other weakness would be the fact that his attacks are often not aimed well enough to damage his opponent. A skilled acrobat could easily evade his advances and attempts to injure them.

SPECIAL ABILITIES:
→ Inferno Dance: Ryu creates three flames within his hands and they shoot out individually at the enemy; long and slender like snakes. They swirl around the opponent and lash out at them like whips; leaving violent and damaging burns all over the surface of their skin.
