MISSION: Creta takes West City - Takeover
It was time. They'd all seen it happening - the helicopter had left the Prime Minister's building about fifteen seconds ago. "They" were the security detail assigned to guard the Parliament building, by their Commander, Markus Samaris. Well, that was the official story. In truth, once that bastard murderer had left the building, they were to go in and subdue the rest of the Government officials. WITHOUT deaths.
"Okay, go, go, go!" The team suddenly burst into the building, shouting out at anybody that came near.
"Stay calm. There has been a terrorist bomb scare, we just need to make sure that there is no danger of anybody being harmed. Please, lay down on the ground and keep your cool. As soe are sure that this threat is either real or not, we shall take further action..." The civilians nodded from their prone positions, and the soldiers continued on into the building.
As they moved further, each major Head of Department they met was told to move into the Hall of Commons, the Prime Minister's major ruling area. This would be where Markus showed that he'd taken power. Thirty officials were standing in the room now, every one of the Heads present and accounted for. As soon as the last man had entered the room, the team leader locked the door behind them.
Stepping before them, he then spoke out.
"I trust that you all know what Markus Samaris and his soldiers are currently supposed to be doing, correct?" A few of the men nodded, others, looked around confusedly. The man sighed. At least that put them up a couple of notches in the coup scale.
"For those who... are uninformed, I will fill you in. Markus Samaris and the rest of our army was ordered to exterminate all citizens of West City." Gasps rang out among the people, and a wider smile approached the man's face. Looks like they had a place here after all.
"That man refused to kill them at all. So I ask you now. If you wanted to stand behind Markus Samaris or that murderous Prime Minister, who would you choose?" The reply was almost unanimous. It began slowly at first, but gradually progressed further into more and more repeated shouts. It was clear who they wanted to lead them - especially when the crys were all "Markus, Markus, Markus..." Good... That put them in a good position.
TIME SKIP- Thirty Minutes Later
The sound of a helicopter returning drew that man's attention skyward. It seemed that someone was returning, but who was it...
Out of the chopper stepped a man dressed in a priest's uniform, with a wrapped cross haning off his right shoulder. He sneered slightly, and the man checking the chopper were suddenly shocked to find that the man who stepped off was not the one who had left in it. No, it was Markus. And he was here to take the position of Creta's Prime Minister.
Walking quickly through the halls, he made his way directly to the Hall of Commons, and knocked. The doors opened, and before him stood the head of the team that he'd made hold this coup.
"It's a unanimous vote, sir. This was easier than we originally thought."
"Good to know. I will take my place and address them." The other man saluted, and Markus walked directly down the centre of the room, and sat on the seat at the end of it, staring over the men, who were all still chanting. He smirked, and raised his heand, the chanting dying down.
"I am happy that this did not result in bloodshed. It seems that my place here is set, and we will be able to live happily because of it. I plead to all of you, stop spreading propagand about this war with Amestris, we will be joining with them by way of a peace treaty, and this war will finally be done. The unnecessary violence, the widows and fatherless children, it wil all be over. And we will live anew." The men broke out into applause, and Markus pulled his phone out of his pocket, calling Spade.
As soon as the man picked up, he spoke.
"It is done. I have taken the place. Now rely this to my lieutenant. They are to retreat from West City. And make sure it looks like you're forcing them to. I don't want you implicated in this scheme of mine." He smiled softly, and hung up the phone, ready to taken on this job as any man would in service to his own country.
