Shura was in a random store in Central. ...Except it wasn't just any store. It was a candy store. Despite his terrible non-existent money, the samurai felt he had to partake in staring at the delectable treats so unlike those he had back at home. If only... Well, on the bright side, at least the syndicate gave him a pair of sandals... They weren't geta so they were flat and felt odd to walk in, but it was better than stepping on a rock that was for sure. He felt much like a prisoner of war, detached from his home country and lost about the industrial streets of an unfamiliar land...

He sighed and ran a pale hand through his spiky, auburn hair. Life was rather cruel to him. And...everyone in the store was staring at him like he was some foreign mythological creature. Was it the kimono? He had left his kikuichimonji at the apartment he was given, so it wasn't that... He did feel naked though without it. Shura scowled to himself. It had to be the clothes. Most likely it was the hakama. To Amestrians, he was told it looked like a skirt. But it wasn't! That angered him. It was so others couldn't read a samurai's foot movements and predict his attack. Duh! It covered the feet from view!

Ugh...the candy looked so good. He was basically drooling all over the pretty colors. That was when the cashier asked him if he was going to buy any. Shura's depressed scowl turned into the most depressing frown. He looked like a beat puppy when he raised his green eyes to meet the Amestrian ones before him. "I wish..."

It was an average day, not too hot and not too cold. The small, pink haired girl named Mitsuki walked herself briskly down the streets looking for potential automail consumers. Her eyes roamed curiously but stopped as she decided to count her money. She didn't have much but she did have enough to do a little spurning and that excited her. For once she could spend money and eat! Well as long as she didn't go crazy with it. Her gold eyes shone with a deep victory. Yes she had overcome bankruptcy. The only problem was she'd probably thrust herself back into it when she binged on sweets of all sorts. "THAT doesn't affect me now!" She exclaimed proudly in a huff as she straightened her posture.

As if fate were conspiring against her she inhaled the soft and warm-wafting smells of a sweets shoppe and her belly growled. Blushing at the loud noise she looked both ways. I suppose a few sweets couldn't hurt.. she giggled, her mouth practically drooling at the thoughts alone. Her favorite foot: sweets, candy, chocolate. Anything covered or made almost purely of sugar. Was it healthy, probably not, but did she care? Well of course not!

Walking in with the oddest look of pride ever she actually felt normal height, only because of the children staring at the candy. Ha that used to be me staring at the candy with these children but now I have money. Oh thank you God if there is one. Her attention however was divided when she looked again to see a grown man ogling the candy and practically drooling. Everything short of licking the glass covering. Mitsuki had to hold in her laugh as she watched him from a good feet away before the woman approached her.

"Miss are you going to buy something?" She asked in a doubting voice. Her attempt at friendliness somehow almost like drowning people. She was clearly overdoing it, but Mitsuki ignored her attitude and stared hard. Ohhh so many choices.... candy, pastries..... Ohhhhhh what to chose? Her face showed the distraught pain of making a decision and she pouted. "I-I need more time to chose!" she said in a stammered and panicked voice like a school child who was failing an exam.

With a roll of her eyes the woman left Mitsuki to her mid-life crisis: What sweets to chose. Her gold eyes peered all around before she finally ordered a large bag of pastries and about five bags of candy. With a grin she laughed as if she'd won the world series on her own. Then it struck her; she'd just spent all her money. "Awww damnit not again!" she whined and groaned, but sighed. "Aww well a week on sweets again, that won't kill me right?"

She looked over at the man who was ogling and debated. With a sigh she dropped a bag in front of him, "It's kind of sad to see a grown man look so pathetic over some candy." She said in the coldest voice she could muster. Just because she was doing something nice didn't make her a softie... did it? Either way she wouldn't accept being 'sweet' about the sweets. Turning she sniffed and placed her bags into the sack slung over her shoulder. If he was like everyone else he'd be annoyed and call her a fowl name. She'd accept that, after all she was an ex gang member.

A bag was placed in front of him. It was filled to the brim with glorious sugar contents of varying colors. Stars. Stars entered his forest green eyes and lit them on fire. "Ma--Wait," he called after the girl in a light Aerugese accent before she left the shop. Absentmindedly, his hand shot out to clutch her pink pony tail to get her to stop. Immediately after the tug, however, he withdrew the hand and let it fall limply to his side. "Ah, sorry," Shura said aloofly. But then his voice changed, teasing tones sewn intricately into his smooth monotone. "No need to act high and mighty, ne. Even Robin Hood basked in praise before he left the scene~" A bright smile crafted itself onto the samurai's handsome face, making him appear less childish and more like a puppy--or more accurately, like a wolf.

His teethe grin was replaced with straight-faced pondering. Since she was the only person in this entire country who recognized his existence besides Fang and Kidato, the chimera figured it was certainly worth the risk of asking her for a further favor. He smirked slyly and dropped to open knee, flinging the bag of amazingness around his wrist. "In return for your kindness. Please allow me to offer mine. Name anything." He raised his bowed head, auburn bangs sliding from his eyes. A shock of green met gold. "All I ask is that you may show me around? This is my first time to Central, you see." Enough with the formalities... Shura enjoyed acting royally, but this honorific speech was wearing on him to no end. The language barrier was slaying him.

Mitsuki was walking away when she felt a stab of pain.. in her scalp. Letting out a yelp, she stumbled backwards, regaining herbalance as she turned to glare at the man. Ready to chew him out, she opened her mouth but he seemed to catch his words first. It was a race Mitsuki lost. Her face showing her slightly ruffled feathers, well they would be if she were a bird, she watched him cautiously and yet. He had somehow knew her act from only two seconds. Slightly stunned she stared hard at the man. He had to be a detective or something, but he wasn't he looked like an average man.... an average everyday man who was yet again taller than her. His suave voice caught her off guard and though she fought it, she had a blush on her cheeks almost immediately. With a forced glare, she turned her head and crossed her arms. Attempting nonchalance to throw him off. "Ha! I don't know what you're talking about. I-I just had extra to share is all." She rebutted with a stutter. Her eyes clenched shut as she tried to will her heated cheeks away.

Hearing a shifting she turned and looked at the man to see him smirk. Her eyes watched, not angry but interested. What kind of man acted noble in a candy shop. "Uhh..." Why am I still here anyways? I could just leave this man. He's a weirdo for sure. Yet her feet remained rooted where she was. However whispers from the people around them attracted her attention. She felt her ears burn and huffed softly. "Okay, uhmm whatever I'll show you around, let's just get out of here." she whispered harshly under her breath. Mitsuki acted the way she did to avoid people, not get attention. With a sigh, she held out her hand to help him up. "By the way you'll owe me two for this." With a childish and somewhat sheepish grin, she managed a playful wink.

She was like...a little girl. Shura snickered to himself, his eyes alight with intrigue. What? He liked her spunk; it was something females in Aerugo hardly possessed. Despite her hard attitude that probably worked with warding off most people, she was blushing a peachy pink color. The samurai found it rather cute. His wolfish smirk turned into a sweet smile and he stood up, brushing the dirt from his baggy, green pants with the other. Despite his kind expression, his eyes were dull as if they had never seen the light of day. Nothing reached them besides his previous excitement for the candy. It was very clear his true personality was hidden behind a carefully constructed mask of innocence. Shura never had a childhood due to the horrors of his past after his father had sent him to Edo, which was why his childlike joy came so easily to him.

It seemed his elaborate display of loyalty put the customers and cashier off. They were whispered odd things amongst themselves. Probably wondering where on earth the chimera man was from. Shura sighed and ran a hand through his messy hair. He would never get used to being an object of attention. Well, at least their gossiping got the pink-haired girl to show him around... He wouldn't be entirely alone, stranded on the streets and only knowing the way back to his oddly arranged apartment. He swore he would never get used to it. Maybe...he just wasn't a very adaptable person. People did stay he was stuck in the old ways...

Shura's smile increased when the outside air hit them kindly. Her wink brought a softness into his normally blank eyes. "But I don't have any money...how will I ever repay you?!" He said dramatically, clasping his forehead with his palm in defeat. "I know! Here's an idea." He smirked evilly again, a dangerous look shining briefly through the mask of jade. "I'll protect you. You're in a gang or something right? I can tell by the way you hold yourself..."

The man stood without her help. Mitsuki of course knew he could, it was just a polite offer. As he dusted himself off, he in turn had a sweeter, less 'evil' smile. It made her relax a bit. Usually smirks meant someone was plotting. Her cheeks were still red, but the heat was dying down. Her gold eyes watched him carefully. It was odd that she'd help a stranger out and even odder that she'd find herself still at the crime scene and yet at the same time it felt like she wanted to be here, not that she was begrudgingly doing it. The man had an odd essence to him, like that of a child and yet at the same time he seemed to be cunning. Mitsuki mulled that over a minute. No... no maybe cunning's not the word....His eyes.... are odd

After a moment of thought she led them outside. The cool air crisp and refreshing even causing Mitsuki to let out a sigh of content. Her hair blowing briefly and her hand rising to keep it out of her face. She turned to look at him as he spoke. His false innocent look then his cunning, mischievously one sending her for another loop. Mitsuki coughed and looked away, trying to act stubborn once more if only to once again hide her blush. Her arms crossed she was silent after the mention of the gang. Her eyes softened sadly and she looked away. "Not... anymore that's in my past." she whispered below her breath before pulling on a new expression.

"Well anyways if you want to pay me off, you'll help me find some customers for my work... or something. I don't need protection!"
she said in a confident tone. Turning her back to him she was still blushing. What was with this man. He was strange and it was like he could see right through her. He seemed like he was one of the few playing her game with her, and she was losing. Mitsuki cleared her throat as she bumped into someone from not paying attention and fell flat on her butt. "Ow." she whined then remembered she wasn't alone and stood up. Embarrassed, she coughed and turned to Shura. "Let's get going shall we?" Before I make a bigger goof of myself.

"Aa I see." He said no more. Now was not the time to pry into other people's lives. He was sure it would be a bad idea since they had just met. Normally, he would pester the person until they gave in, but Shura was feeling...a bit out of his comfort zone. Well, he was in an entirely new country; it was to be expected...kinda. His curiosity had been spiked though, and the prospect of future pestering lay dormant like a masked mountain waiting to erupt.

Anyway, she was an interesting one. Shura wanted to stick with her as long as he could before her spunky attitude kicked them their separate ways. It was a vicious cycle. Life that is. Shura was listening intently to her proclamations of him getting her customers and whatnot when she suddenly collided with a random guy. The sad excuse for a human had ear buds bursting his ear drums and sunglasses that shielded the world. Shura felt like his head was going to explode from how loud it was. Damn his canine ears! The drone of rap music was like listening to the screeching of a chalk board. He shuddered and watched Mitsuki instantly stand up. Good, she hadn't broken her butt. Something else was about to be broken. As the Amestrian scumbag passed him, Shura casually stuck out his sandal-clad foot and watched the idiot's descent into the pavement. Total face-shot right there. Shura let out a low whistle and shrugged his shoulders.

"You're okay, I gander?" He inquired at the girl, raising an auburn eyebrow. "Sooo...what's this job?" He took out a few pieces of the sweets and stuffed them into his mouth.

Mitsuki felt herself staring at the man. He had an odd essence about him. With a twitch of her nose, she sighed softly. Her butt hurt and she was yet again feeling stupid. Her gold eyes looking at him almost pitifully for a moment. Crossing her arms, she remembered he had asked a question. Right her job, her income. "I'm an automail mechanic, believe it or not."

She almost missed the man falling. With a strange look of are you crazy? to Shura, she grabbed his hand and began dragging him off, despite the fact his mouth was full of sweets at the moment. However she was careful to not drag too much lest she choke the poor man. Peaking around the corner she spied on the scene. People were gathering again and asking if the man was alright. With a huff she looked at him almost glaring at him. "Why did you do that?! Are you insane what are people going to think?" Well whatever they were going to think it'd be worse now that she'd dragged him off. But that was a different story. Of course she thought it was kind of cute, in fact the man himself was kind of cute, but she wouldn't let that escape her lips.

"Anyways we never introduced ourselves and so you don't call me some weird name, I'm Mitsuki." Her smile returned. "And now I'm afraid to let you go anywhere on your own. Do you do this all the time?" Looking somewhat angry she saw a face she couldn't really be mad at. "Honestly.." she said for lack of better things to say. Her eyes browsed the area. She wasn't lost luckily, but she was slightly confused. Where had she taken them? It took her a moment to register before she recognized it as the park. However she hadn't let go of his hand yet... she didn't realize it though.

Automail? Shura was reminded immediately of Makuro, the previous emperor of Aerugo, whom he had served for years and who had saved his life. The wolf-dog chimera delved deep into thought, immediately forgetting where he was, who was with him, and even the time period. Hot summer days training in the dojo with weighted bokken...the sweet smell of sweat and awaiting the cool water from the well. He could almost feel the icy liquid running down his hot throat. And the radiating anger beating off of Makuro as he attempted to defeat Shura's tennen rishin ryu style and failing.

Suddenly, his hand was grasped and he jolted from the reverie. What on earth? Oh that was right... Maku was dead. He had died taking the South when all Shura had wanted was peace. Colonization never worked on established countries and Makuro had realized that too late. Shura unknowingly, gripped her hand in return until he was yanked around the corner. Blinking in bewilderment, he came up behind the automail girl to peek at the scene unfolding. He was about to laugh when she huffed and glared angrily at him. Oh...no. What had he done? Immediately he shied away and cowered backwards from her unexpected rage. Wouldn't someone normally be cackling evilly and basking in their revenge? Amestris was weird. Or maybe she was just different. Whatever it was, he enjoyed it.

Shura grinned, his eyes shining with intrigue. "All the time," he stated in a silky voice. Moving closer until she could feel his hot breath on her, a rapturous look entered his normally expressionless, green eyes. "Your name is Aerugese," he said quietly, "it means full moon, did you know that?" He stepped back and swayed to the side, giving a sweet laugh. "My name is Shura, I'm a wolf-dog chimera, you see." He smiled softy, "and you're still holding my hand, Mitsuki-chan"

Mitsuki let out another sigh as the man seemed to cower like a dog for a minute then in another second he seemed fine again. She looked at the ground with a crestfallen look. "As if these people don't pick on me enough." she grumbled under her breath then looked up as she heard movement. The man had come closer; almost too close for her liking. He had stated that they were still holding hands and Mitsuki yelped, pulling her hand free only to feel the emphasis on his closeness.

She could feel him breathing on her skin and it made her temporarily freak out by falling backwards and flat on her butt. Her face incredibly red, she coughed and looked away. Then motioned with her arms a round bubble. "You see this? T-This is my bubble.. Please do not intrude on my bubble." She said as she pulled on her 'tough girl' act once more. Her eyes were closed and her brow was furrowed, but her face was still holding the red hue of a blush.

Men weren't usually complicated, but this one made her heart race being near her. Maybe she was just a spazz by nature, whatever it was she was still red and it took her a moment to stand to her feet. "How did you know about my name anyways? And Shura is a neat name, nice to meet your acquaintance." She dusted her skirt off and smiled, it was almost as if she hadn't even fallen in the first place. She wondered why it was she was acting so dumb and simply pushed it off as It must be the pollen.

Shura crossed his arms and looked to the side, whistling a quick tune. "Nope don't see it. What are you talking about?" He turned his head back to her in time to see her hands drop at the end of her bubble indicating. He grinned sheepishly and then laughed, showing white, pristine teeth--none as sharp as they should be for a wolf-dog. Ah well~ Not like it mattered anyway. What was he going to bite? Hm... He narrowed his eyes and pocketed his hands into the folds of his kimono. He sauntered to her side and leaned against an ancient birch tree alike the rest in the park. All-knowing green eyes beheld her and refused to let go when she met them. "You're blushing." Shura paused, taking the tie from his hair, and setting it free. Invisible wind blew through it, tousling the fine strands of auburn. He shook it from his face, still possessing his smug expression. "You have never been with a man before have you?"

Shura leaned back, hands on his hips now. "No matter. Shall we get to work then? Oh, that's right, and I know the meaning of your name because I was born in Aerugo." He nodded, rather satisfied with his origins, but at the same time it frustrated him. All the industrial stuff was driving his overworked brain haywire. The tall buildings, the elevators, no...the escalators were the worst! He reached into his bag and stuffed more sugar beyond his pale lips. It was...so much better than anything he had ever had. So much sweeter! He couldn't describe it's wonder!

"My name...it means carnage. My father gave it to me. In the past, I thought he meant it for me to cause death, but... just recently I met a man who said otherwise. I'll take the world's carnage upon myself if I can rid the world of it. Don't you agree--that there's already been too much blood spilled?"

Mitsuki felt herself riled up again. What was wrong with her? Why did she always feel these copious amounts of strange? Her eyes darted at him as he declared he didn't have a clue what Mitsuki was talking about when she made her bubble, then he seemed to laugh at her. She really wondered how much of a fool she had to be. Her arms crossed as she watched him let his hair down. What a strange man. She'd covered that right? He was indeed strange beyond anything she'd ever known and yet she enjoyed his company. Then he pointed out the blush, letting loose another rage of freaking out. "I am not! It-It's chilly out is all." She coughed as if to make her point and turned her head. Her face darkened more as he asked her a more personal question. Ears burning, she turned her head away. "An-and that's frankly none of your business though I'll have you know that I dated a guy once." For a day before I hit him with a wrench... but he doesn't know that... it was one time! Her eyes peeked through being slitted ever so slightly only to briefly catch his eyes. Her face darkened more, but her expression remained the same: Stubborn.

As if by fate the subject seemed to change. "You know I've never seen someone like sweets as much as you. With all those sugars in your body my dad would say, You'd be the sweetest person on earth." She wasn't sure why she said it, it sort of blurted out. Mitsuki paused as if evaluating what she'd said, then turned and knocked her head off of a nearby wall. That was single handedly, the dumbest, lamest and corniest thing you have ever said, Mitsuki. She yelled at herself before trying to speak again. Her eyes were gentler, more kind as he explained his own name. "Aerugese sounds like a good language. And you're right there's been too much blood spilled." Her hand rubbed at her elbow. I did my share... "And I find it strange that your name means carnage as... you seem to have seen more than your share of it." She blurted out then sighed and looked away.

"Anyways let's talk about a happier subject. We are here in central there should be plenty to do right?"
Yup she was lost. OF COURSE she was lost, but to let him know would be admitting she was wrong and THAT was a no-no. "Uhmm this way." she said as she started to walk in a random direction. After all when all else fails, guess.

A wolf-like grin enveloped his entire face. He almost seemed to sprout ears and a tail to go along with it! But, of course, nothing of the sort occurred. "I'm sweet you say?" His leafy, green eyes beheld her with immense amusement. He placed a hand lightly on her head, touching her odd pink hair that reminded him of cotton candy, but felt like silk. "Then I'll have to say you're cute when you blush." He paused briefly, eyes lighting up with his words. "Whether from the cold...or not." He let his pale fingers slide from her sunlit hair to his side before they were cut off. Heh heh.

"Hm~" He thought, folding his arms behind his head. "What does 'date' mean? My language skills are not quite adverse..." Shura smiled nervously for once, wondering if she was going to define it for him or slap him for asking. Either way worked. He'd still get his answer whether painfully or not. "Ah!" He help up a finger with a childish smile. It seemed his seriousness was being chipped away little by little the longer he stayed with her. Slowly, he was warming to her charm and exerting his own (or so he hoped). Shura would rather be in company then not, so scaring her away was definitely not on his agenda. "How would you like to learn Aerugese? I am actually a very good teacher believe it or not, but you'll have to try it to see." He nodded with a flip of his glossy, foreign-colored hair.

Shura paused after his offer, dwelling on her observant words. Was it obvious? He looked over himself carefully and frowned. No bloodstains... "How can you tell?" He blurted, not following her right away. Was it just his name? But wait...'plenty to do in central'? He blinked, the ideas of killing washing away immediately into the shadows of his mind. "Woah, woah hold on. What about your work?" He chased after the girl.

Mitsuki's face was slightly red as he turned her compliment around and seemed to flirt back with her. He was very good so far at making Mitsuki blush and it made her feel nervous and uncomfortable. No one had ever seemed to make her feel nervous and yet this man threw her for a loop. She tried glaring and shouting, everything to push him away and yet she didn't want to at the same time. With a look of defeat she accepted that she was stuck with him for now. "I'm not cute!" she huffed at him before she had her hair stroked by his gentle hand. "And it is cold!" she said quickly, crossing her arms once more and tilting her head in the air. Okay so much for being defeated.

"A date is when two people decide to go out usually experimenting if they want to try and get together or not.."
She paused as she answered and looked at him with a shocked expression. "You-you aren't.. no of course not, never mind that I said anything." she waved her hand. "The point is that I have been with a man before." Her nose in the air once more. She was trying to be tough again. The man seemed to be getting more comfortable and it was obvious Mitsuki was getting more comfortable anyways. She just didn't know how to show it. "Aerugese? You're a good teacher? I suppose I'll have to make a study date on another time, I didn't bring my materials." she teased and laughed lightly.

As she was walking she turned and grinned at him softly, "It's in your eyes. Did you know that eyes are the tunnel to the soul? You can tell a lot just by looking at someone in the eyes. That's why a lot of people avoid eye contact. It's sort of like looking at someone without their body there anymore." She rambled, barely realizing that she was leaving him in the dust. "Have you ever been to an amusement park?" She asked curiously with a soft smile. "I figure if I'm going to show you around it might as well be something fun." Blinking she heard heavy steps and turned to see she had been a good ten feet ahead of him. Blinking she laughed softly and waited for him to catch up, "Sorry about that. Did you catch what I said though?"

Shura placed a light hand on his chin. He stared at the clouds in the sky as his mind processed the flow of information from Mitsuki's lips. "A study date...so that would be experimenting with information and seeing if you want to try and get together with me...?" Shura looked from the sky and back to the girl, blinking in obvious confusion. "I don't get it," he laughed softly, "sorry, the only studying I've ever done is with the sword." He nodded, touching his side where his kikuichimonji wasn't. The lack of weight offset him a bit and seemed to make him slightly nervous. But Shura was very aware that carrying the weapon down the street would bring more odd and unwelcome stares from the non-foreign passerby.

Ah~ he had been so young when his father sent him to the capital to better his training... But after his house burned down, the teacher he had been training under, sold him to a slave trader to make up the money his dead parents could no longer pay. How he escaped...had everything to do with Kondou, the teacher who had taught him his Tennen Rishin Ryu sword style. So much had happened to him...it was no wonder his eyes showed it. But was his blood lust that obvious? Funny.

Shura sighed silently to himself. "I did not know." He drew closer to her as she waited for him, looking deeply into her golden eyes.
