The Snowstorm Samba Empty The Snowstorm Samba

Post by Guest Fri Dec 03, 2010 3:47 pm

It had seemed like such a good idea at the time, traveling north and seeing what was up. Really, it had! But now that CC was shivering in her thick coat, boots and various other winter accessories, she was sure her mother would berate her, asking where her Drachman endurance for cold was. Most likely it was still somewhere in Central City, at least that part of her had enough sense to be left behind.

CC sneezed after a particularly nasty wind tickled her cold nose just right and straightened her hat. The clouds in the sky didn't look too friendly, to be honest, and CC was fairly certain she was lost. Though she had heard that there was supposed to be a military outpost somewhere around these parts, but she was worried that she might not reach it before a big snowstorm hit the area.

Still, she walked on, towards the general direction she was told this... Fort Briggs was in, and luckily for her, she actually saw the outline of the place just as the snow started falling from the sky. CC hurried her steps and sniffled, she wanted to get into a warm room! As she approached the place, she wondered if she had been spotted already. If so, she really hoped the lookouts wouldn't be too hostile. Getting shot was so the last thing she needed right now!

The Snowstorm Samba Empty Re: The Snowstorm Samba

Post by Guest Fri Dec 03, 2010 4:20 pm

There was a sharp echo amoung the frozen mountains side of Fort Briggs. A high pitched squel of an ultrasonic bullet soaring through the on coming blizzard. With a neat smash and out kick of snow a sniper bullet lodged itself just in front of CC. This would serve as a warning. Do not approach any further or you will be shot. Though one could consider running away right? Just by turning around and walking away, the sniper bullet would be out of reach right? There was a 2nd echo as a bullet whizzed past CC's ear and travelled a good 50 meters before lodging into the snow.... Maybe keeping still would be for the best.

At that exact time Three armed men had appeared from out of no where. Dressed in white camoflage and all pointing their automated rifles at CC. One of them signalled to his two friends who formed a 3 point circle around her.
Slowly take the overall coat off and toss it to the side, then lie down flat on the snow. This is standard procedure to check for bombs, weapons or any other materials that qualify for a confiscation!

There was a brief silence.
DO IT NOW! Boomed the man's voice. Dangerously pointing the muzzle of the barrel at CC's head.

CC skidded to a stop when the bang sounded and the bullet hit the snow in front of her, letting out a scared squeak. Oh crap oh crap oh crap! Then another bullet whizzed past her ear and she covered it, leaning away. She froze in a hunched-over position, however, since obviously she was an easy target and she'd probably get a lead poisoning if she moved too much. The three men startled her, however, and she let out another squeak and a whine.

"Ahh you came out of nowhere-!" She straightened and lifted her hands up when they circled around her, gunbarrels pointing at her. Wow, if she had not been fairly used to dangerous moments, she might've wet herself at this display. One of them barked orders and CC whimpered at the thought of having to take off her overcoat. Then the man shouted again.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry, yes?!" CC winced and tried to smile, which, admittably, was kind of hard when you're staring down the barrel of a gun. Slowly, CC brought her hands to the zipper of her coat and equally slowly, drew it down, very careful not to make any sudden movements. When the zipper on the long coat was down, she brought her hands behind her back (where one of the men could see them) and tugged at the sleeves, the coat falling on the ground.

The hands went back up as CC crouched and kneeled, then proceeded to lie on the snowy ground, spreading her arms and legs for good measure, all the while making a displeased "Oooooooo..." sound at the OHGODFRIGGIN' COLD. She really hoped that if this DID evolve into a full-scale strip search, the next steps would be completed inside. Where there's warm. And she wasn't about the freeze her butt off.

One of them approached quickly and kicked away her coat, looking to see how heavy the coat would feel. Judging by it's fluffly and light movement, the coat contained no weapon but to be sure he checked the outer and inner pockets. While the other man pointed the gun at hand as the last checked her sides and other possible areas for hidden weapons.

Clear
-Over-seer, this is Mike, we're bringing the intruder in
Copy Mike, over-seer switching to hawk
-Over and out, please watch our six
Your rear is too ugly to watch Mike
-Shut up Over-seer!
and who's the one holding a high caliber sniper rifle at your head?
-like you'd shoot!
BANG!
-Mother F***Ker!
Sorry Mike, thought the intruder had friends

Within a few minutes the girl had her hands tied behind her back and was being led to Fort Briggs. A few more minutes after that They had entered the Fortress itself from a side door. Inside CC was given a scan for weapons with a hound and metal detector.
You can have your coat back
Enter through that door there and you will see a Colonel with Red Hair, knock before entering. understood? go

It was a good thing CC wasn't too ticklish, otherwise this would've been a bit awkward, the patting down. Then again, if she had been ticklish, she still would've probably been to focused on the cold, cold snow below her to actually start giggling.

One of the men notified someone else that they were bringing her in, and soon after CC flinched at the sound of a bang. What the- Did soldiers joke like this?! Really? It took a while, but soon enough she was being led inside. If her sneezes were of any indication, it was about time! When they finally were all inside, CC let out a sight of relief. Not that it lasted long, they brought in a sniffer dog.

"Nice doggy-" CC started but stopped short. Polite doggies don't sniff there! After they had done everything but a full strip- and cavity search, they deemed her harmless enough to be sent for the current head of the place.

"Um, my hands-" CC flinched when more orders were issued. "Okay, okay, I go!" She went to the door and knocked, loudly. Just so more bullets wouldn't be shot at her, y'know?

"Hello, Colonel?" She was allowed to call this person by their rank, right? CC entered, with a placating, if a bit strained, smile on her face.

Colonel?

Yeon-hwa turned around in suprise as she thought A colonel had entered. It was strange she was a Lieutenant but 2nd in command to Briggs and had very much full authority over everything else except Reila herself.

[ooc: someone put colonel on my character sheet so got confused xD I'm a lieutenant]

" Eh? Judging by your clothes and shivering you're not from Fort Briggs aren't you?
Yeon-hwa smiled softly as she titled her head. Sweet child she was, picking up a mug and filling it with hot water. To this she added hot chocolate and gave it to CC. " you must be cold ^^ what brigs you here " As she asked Yeon-hwa placed a plate of two warm chocolate dipped crousants. They were fresh from the morning and had been kept warm in the iron stove.

She liked that iron stove, it felt homely and somewhat antique like. Now this wasn't her office mind you, it was the room for gaurds who came just from patrol. A room where they could rest a while and warm up their frozen bodies. Then why was she here? A couple boxes of wrapped presents were seen in the corner, each addressed to a soldier by name and a personal hand written letter awaiting them.

[ooc: sorry bad post, kinda distracted xD]

Ah? She was in charge of things? She couldn't have been any older than Quincy herself, yet here she was! What a strange place, Briggs, and what a strange military.

"Ah, no, I am not." CC smiled pleasantly and accepted the mug of hot chocolate. She wasn't too fond of water-based hot chocolate, but she was chilled and it would be warm. It would be amazing. She quickly sipped some and moved closer to the source of warmth, accepting the chocolate-dipped croissant after a bit of hesitation.

"Yes, um. I was on a walk, and the weather started going bad. I heard that there was a military outpost here, and I was too far from the closest village to make it back in time." CC scratched her cheek in embarrassment. "Heh, should have listened to the villagers better, yes?" To be fair, they did warn her that there might be a snowstorm today, but CC had been sure she'd make it back before it started.

"In any case, my name is Quincy David-" She made sure to put some extra attention to how her last name was pronounced, dah-veed, as she introduced herself. "-and I am terribly sorry for intruding." Hopefully, she would not be arrested for being a bit of an idiot and for ignoring advice.

You do know that entering a military area without permission, authority or prior notice at the least is a crime punishable by jailing, conscription or even execution?

Yeon-hwa smiled as her slanted eyes closed with the creasing of muscles. The matter at hand was now awkward at least for CC. Yeon-hwa herself displayed no visible hints of joking around or being serious. Her tone was same as ever and her body language was natural. She unbuttoned her topmost button to her long military coat, revealing a black leather strap. She undid the sleeves of the coat too, giving her wrists a bit of freedom.

Your accent, from Drachman origins?
She gave a pause purposely gazing around the room and as if speaking to herself she spoke in a wondering voice.
I wonder what the battle figures are, 76? no 83 to 0
Of course she was refering to the number of wins that Fort Griggs had recieved. Drachma was a like a man trying to break a rock with an egg.
This place doesn't really like Drachma haha.... they always interrupt our lunch breaks by attacking us
she looked straight at David.
Drachman? ^^

"A... Ha ha..." CC let out an awkward laugh: she had a suspicion that it might've been something like that. Which meant that she was in it something fierce, and she had no clue how to get out of it. "I... Don't suppose I could do some community service to make up for it?" It was unlikely but you never know, right? When the woman started to question her further, CC got that nasty clump in the pit of her stomach, that this was going to get worse.

"Well, sort of?" It was difficult to explain why it was her mother's accent she was having, instead of, say, her father's Cretarian accent. When the woman continued to rattle off about how Briggs disliked Drachmans, CC paled and set her cup of hot chocolate down. Oh dear, oh dear, she should've just stayed in the village...!

"Well, um, my mother is Drachman, BUT-!" CC hurriedly lifted her arms up, to protect herself from any possible attack on her person.
"I was born in Amestris and raised in Xing and my father is Cretarian, and I have my passport in the inside breast pocket of my coat and it says I was born 23rd of March in West City and, and!" CC paused, then slapped her hands over her eyes in panic.

"I've never even been inside Drachman borders..." Yeah, okay, so she may have been slipping into hysterics right about then. Just a little, though, she was still fairly in control, but knew that the odds of her getting out of here alive were fairly non-existant if she couldn't come up with an agreement with this woman, that much she knew.

Raised in Xing? The country that we do not trust despite being my own country. Xing has driven my childhood to the extent of defection. Cretan, the country that we are currentyl waging a war agains as they have taken over our west city. Hmm your relations are not that good

Yeon-hwa closed her eyes and nodded. She unbuttoned another as the chrome colt was visible on her left side. She slightly parted her eyes as she looked at David with cold hard eyes.
Hot isn't it? inside Of Fort Briggs
She took her jacket off and took her time in folding it neatly and placing it ontop the coffee table. She opened her mouth once before closing it. Staring now at her hands.
Community service?
Yeon-hwa let hand pull out the pistol from within its holster and ejected the magazine. Placing it ontop the jacket, she proceded to retract the hammer making a loud clicking noise.
Execution.....
She slipped the magazine back in. The first bullet being chambered into the barrel. Her eyes travelled from the cold metal to the eyes of the terrified girl.....
What can you do?
She smiled once more placing the colt into a box addressed to a Private Picklenick. Present?
Execution is not my thing, community service sounds to easy. Conscription sounds more fun. How about it? Join Fort Briggs?

CC stared at the woman as she explained how nothing was working for CC right now. When she was done, CC slapped a hand over her eyes and groaned in annoyance. Yeah, see, she had heard about some of that stuff, but she hadn't realized it was THAT bad! Great, maybe she should've just stayed in Xing with the circus, at least then someone wouldn't be- WHOAH GUN GUN GUN.

"Whoah, hold on, now!" CC took a step back, slightly wondering why this woman had started speaking Drachman. CC's heart was hammering in her ears, but not in the good way it did when she was up on the trapeze.
"Exe- wait, wait, wait!" CC waved her arms in front of her, really hoping this woman wasn't as cold as the weather outside. What could she... Oh! Maybe this could save her!

"Oh, um! I am a trained acrobat and a trained martial artist! I was raised in a circus and I have some contacts dotted through Amestris and Xing!" Perhaps this had appeased the woman, as she put the gun away and asked her if she would be willing to join Fort Briggs. Yes, well, a choise between that and a bullet to the head was hardly a choice, now was it?

"I do not have much choise, no?" CC winced, blinking back the panicked tears that had started surfacing. "Do I get a snazzy uniform when I join or will I be put on potato duty?"

That depends on how good your martial arts is. Uniform? Sure! though you can only officially join Briggs if the Commander accepts you. How do you get accepted you get my approval. How do you get my approval? Land one good hit on me.

She was rather serious for that a change but no means did she intend to shoot the girl in the head. She was merely interested what a Civilian with such roots and culture would be wondering around military posts during times of War! Now her eyes were set on this girl.

[ooc: okay this will be against her personality and all but the thread will go on and on and on without much interesting things happening. ps this an excuse bcuz my posts are all obring xDDD. Love your writing btw!]

Yeon-hwa wanted to test her reflexes. Acrobat eh? There was a flick of her wrists as a barbie pin darted its way towards CC's eyes. Hope this girl can prevent that much of an attack and that she understand she will need to be serious....

"Um, well..." CC did not wish to oversell herself, but she didn't want to undersell herself either. Really, in a situation like this it could be a make or break, you know? Sure, she had ten years of martial arts under her belt and probably twice that in acrobatic training, but this was a professional, trained soldier as her opponent here! And furthermore-

"AH!" CC arched backwards and out of the way of the object trying to make it's way in to her head, and performed a tucked backflip, her feet landing on the floor easily. Without wasting any time, she dashed forwards and delivered a roundhouse kick towards the young woman, still not entirely sure if she should be attacking her. Because, you know, she was kind of holding her life in her hand.

And really, she hadn't worn her sports bra today. This would be hell if it went on for too long... Hopefully she could land at least a tap on the woman soon and get it over with.

Yeon-hwa smile as always, rather impressed and satisfied with the ladies flexibility, reaction time and perception of distance. She had already acquired her hawk, filling in the role of eyes from afar, striking from higher ground and delivering deadly blows with its talons. All that was left was one, a power house. Someone who's strength is unmatched and endurance to win against the mountains. Lastly she needed her Snake, though a crule connotation the snake would be a vital part in infiltrations. Fast, agile creatures that could squeeze through almost any area. Beautiful vipers that would coil and burst out in lashes, snake. She had her snake but did she live up to the name? In all honesty was..... letter?

Yeon-hwa bent down as her eyes had caught site of a small piece of paper on the floor. Swoosh~ The round house kick zoomed above her. The paper seemed to have been part of a bigger story as evident tear marks and broken words were found. "Xing, War, Ground, carrot...carrot?? o.o " She stood back up as she addressed CC. "Do you like carrots?." She swiped her feet horizontally in front of her. Her Group 2 Metal alchemy. As soon as Yeon-hwa had done her dance move, multiple pillars of iron shot out from the walls and lodges themselves onto other parts of the room. This created a sort of labryinth. What with pillars shooting up and down. left and right, back and forth. How good would CC move about in such conditions?

As for Yeon-hwa herself, dunk! annaa!!! that hurts alot! Silly child, she had been focused on the letter so much that her head was hit by the metal pillars that had shot out. A bit dizzy and disorientated she shook her head vigoursly, looking much like a child who had just woken up.

To self note. 2 group alchemy metal. Good not
Feel like Master Yoda, I do @.@

Whoosh, the kick went right over the girl as she bent down to pick up something. CC would've found it hilarious in it's superb comical timing if it wasn't for the fact that she was kind of fighting for her own life here. CC brought the foot she kicked with to the floor and did an axe-kick upwards with the other foot, only to have the girl execute another well-timed and maybe unintentional dodge as she stood up while reading a paper. CC's left eye twitched as she continued her twirling motion away from the girl before stopping into a stance.

"C-carrots? How is that relevant to-" CC raised her eyebrow at the strange combo of moves the girl did, but she didn't have time to stop and gawk, oh no. She barely caught the sound, but things started to... Emerge from the walls and floor. With a terrified squeak, CC dropped away from her stance started to bounce, running around the roo, trying to dodge the pillars. She jumped over one coming from the wall, took support from one coming from the floor near that but missed the one coming down on her from the wall, in a downward angle. The pillar hit her in the left shoulder, causing CC to grunt in pain and drop awkwardly onto the floor.

At the same time, she heard the pained cry of the other girl in the room, but she didn't have time to pause to listen, or to nurse her shoulder. CC rolled to the side to avoid another pillar, flipped herself up and proceeded to do her best in dodging. Concidering the erratic way the pillars emerged, CC was doing a rather fine job as far as she could tell. She hadn't been knocked out and she was relatively unharmed, that counted as a fine job.

She leapt onto one pillar rising, off of that one and onto another before pushing off the last one with her feet, managing to jump higher than she usually would and tried to aim her plummet towards the girl. She readied her legs and her left arm (though reluctantly, she wasn't sure if the lack of pain was from adrenaline or what) for landing and pulled her right fist back. She probably knew more effective fighting moves, but... Real fight was a bit different from sparring, even rough sparring. With a grunt, CC thurst her fist forwards and towards the girl's head as soon as she got within range.

ooc: I really Apologise for not posting! I was really busy this week as I went on holiday with my boyfriend! Sumimasae!

IC:

An aeriel right fist came flying to bash her head in. No holding back it seemed, things would get serious. There it was her snake. Yeon-hwa took a step back, the fist came flying in. Intercept or block? She side stepped and turned her neck away, Quincy's fist skimming past her cheeks. He

"welcome to fort Briggs" Yeon-hwa snapped her left arm much like a judo chop and aimed it at Quincy's throat. " you pass! Flying colors, not only were you able to grasp the situation instantly you were able to get serious in the given circumstances. I'll be reporting to Reila-san, I would like you to get washed up and warm clothes can be picked up at the laundry

She stopped by the door way, Oh and btw if you want something nice, feel free to use the scented soap used by some of the girls and if you don't like the clothes you can just ask me, I have some pretty clothes

from compassion to composed anger and back to compassion in a mere 3 minutes. Strange girl she was.. strange girl she was.
