DESCRIPTION:
→ Ming is a rather feminine-looking girl, fitting her name, which means ‘Shining Moon’. She is much shorter than others her age, which she hates. She has long black hair, which is occasionally dyed with streaks of blue or purple. It is typically pulled back into a ponytail, with short, fluffy bangs, and longer strands that don’t quite reach her ponytail. Ming has large brown eyes that are so dark, they look black. Her skin is pale, refusing to tan, but not sickly-looking pale. She’s got an automail right arm, and her right leg from the knee down is automail as well. Despite this, she tends to wear tank tops and spaghetti strap shirts a lot, in bright colors. These bright tops are typically paired with either denim shorts or jeans. Sneakers are her main choice of footwear, since they’re comfortable and easy to move in. When she’s cold, Ming will just wear a light jacket over her tank top.

PERSONALITY:
→ Ming is a friendly, energetic, and much too trusting person. She can be a bit naïve at times, but only has everyone’s best interests at heart. Ming is definitely anything but shy; Sometimes she is so energetic and when meeting new people rather than be shy and reserved she is flat out yet sometimes embarrass herself but doesn’t pay any mind to that kind of stuff, she doesn’t really care how other people look at her just how she looks at herself and she is just fine with her current self.

Ming is cursed with boundless energy, as if on an endless sugar high, she’s constantly moving, whether it’s dancing, tapping her foot, or even just walking. Her mother used to say she was practically bouncing off the walls. When she isn’t moving, she’s humming, or, if she’s alone, singing.

Although she wears tank tops and shorts a lot, Ming thrives in cold temperatures, and seems even more energetic and jittery. Just like every other average teen, she does have occasional mood swings, and will sometimes seem depressed along with other random moods such as anger, boredom and many other things. Ming doesn’t really like to hurt people, though. But she will when she has to or to protect her family and friends, that is where her energy comes in at when she has to fight. She is very merciful and will try anything to spare her opponent. She would rather not kill and will only in super extreme circumstances.

Despite her side of hyperness and seemingly to be a person with no brain cells as they were all killed it is quite the opposite. Ming is actually highly intelligent for her age she just doesn’t show it to much as she thinks that it’s no fun and she would rather be talking to new people very fast or running or something than thinking about some other stuff like math or other things along those lines, she doesn’t really like being too smart, and she wishes she had a normal intellect level because everyone then thinks she can help them with their problems so she also uses her silly, hyper, energetic self to stop things like that.

HISTORY:

Ming-Yue Yao, otherwise known as Ming was born on November 12. When she was only four years old, she was sent to boarding school in Amestris. Ming was there until the age of eight, and during her time there, she changed drastically. She started making her own hair dye and dying bright streaks of color into her hair. At eight years old, Ming was headed home to Xing, having learned the language of Amestris well enough to speak it fluently. While there, she learned nowhere near enough about the rest of Amestris to satisfy herself.

At a train station, Ming found a little black and white kitten, and took him on the train. She named him Xiaobo, and he practically clung to her side, usually draped around her neck like a furry scarf, or sprawled on top of her head, his paws dangling in her face. The train she was on was supposed to go straight from Central to Youswell, where she would get a horse and ride across the desert to Xing. The train crashed, having derailed almost at Youswell, but she survived. She lost the use of her right arm and right leg from the knee down, so she went in search of a place to get automail. Eventually, after backtracking quite a bit, she found an automail mechanic in New Optain. After her unexpected detour, she finally made it back to Xing when she was ten, riding on a horse the whole way, since she no longer liked to ride on trains.

Bored out of her mind, with nothing important to do, Ming began to learn about Amestris more from travelers, people who knew about it for whatever reason, anyone that knew anything about Amestris. She longed to go back to learn more, since she only knew the language. Knowing just the language wasn’t enough for her; she wanted to learn about the culture, the history, what average life was like there. Determined to learn as much as possible about Amestris, Ming ran away from home when she was thirteen. In a blue backpack, she packed food, water, clothing, and other essentials (including her crystal bottles of homemade hair dye she made herself), tied a light blue bandanna around her forehead to keep her hair out of her face, took Xiaobo, her cat, and left, headed toward Amestris.

Ever since, she’s been wandering around Amestris, the desert, and Xing. Occasionally, she goes back to New Optain to have her automail fixed by the mechanic she had found, since she trusts nobody else to fix it. Quite often, she heads farther up north, since she seems to come more alive in colder temperatures. Wherever she goes, though, she always makes a least one friend, so now she’s got friends almost everywhere in Amestris and Xing.

→ Great singer, but she gets embarrassed if she has to sing in front of others. Also, she's excellent at playing the flute and piccolo, and composes music for herself to challenge herself.
