DESCRIPTION:
→ When your mother is a BIG Drachman lady and your dad's not so small either, it's bound to show somewhere. With Quincy, it shows in height and muscle structure. Most of Quincy's weight is actually muscle, though there is a fair amount of healthy fat tissue in her body as well. Mostly concentrated on her chest area, much to her frustration. She has a husky, warm, almost whiskey-burnt voice, despite the fact that she's not really a heavy drinker.
Quincy's hair is grey, almost silver, and her eyes are dark blue: her skin has thusfar ignored any and all attempts to tan and remains light in colour, though not pale in a sickly-sort of way. The hair is cut short, almost into a bob-like style, with the bangs being slightly longer and parted sideways, one section covering her left eye most of the time. Just as well, her vision in that eye isn't quite as good as in her right. She also has an annoying strand of hair sticking up at the top of her head like an antenna.
As for her body, you can see that Quincy's solidly built and sturdy: her legs are defined, her tummy toned and her chest- Yeah, well, okay, she has a love-hate relationship with that. On the other hand, free drinks! Then on the other, balance issues. Big ones. Ahh, c'est la vie. Quincy loves the colour blue in most all of its shades, but prefers navy and really dark blue, almost black, and leather. Leather is the single most greatest of materials, though it can get annoying if you're not careful. Especially as pants. Still, Quincy prefers wearing leather jackets, jeans and boots, as well as gloves. She doesn't often resort to dresses, but she's not completely against them either.
Though not exactly girly, Quincy still enjoys putting on make-up and just, well, looking pretty. It gives her a nice confidence boost to know she's looking nice, though she often avoids putting it on heavily. Eyeliner, mascara, maybe a touch of eyeshadow, a little powder and some lipgloss. Good enough.

PERSONALITY:
→ Quincy is a warm, caring, motherly personality. She'll fuss, she'll remind you to dress warm and she'll smother you with hugs if given half a chance. The kind of caring person who ferries kittens and puppies intro her apartment or borderline kidnaps someone if she thinks they are in need of food, shelter, medical attention or all of the above. It makes her feel all warm and fuzzy inside to be able to care for people. Along with that, she has a certain quirkiness about her, mostly brought on by her home being a traveling circus for quite a number of years. Though some people argue that it's not so much quirky as it is being blind to social cues and what's acceptable in a social situation. So she can come off as a ditz at times.
But underneath all that fuzzy, motherly exterior lies a smart and savvy woman, aware of what she does and what's happening. Granted, she might not have the booksmarts other people have, but she'd rather take survival over knowing eight different words to describe how something's going badly. Smarts is needed if one wishes to have, maintain and be a part of more than a few information networks, even ones that branch into other countries. Quincy is quick to assess the situation and often flees when she realizes she's against people or situations where she has a low chance of actually winning.
However, Quincy is confident about herself and her abilities, even if she can't do alchemy or isn't a part of the military. After all, she's a trained acrobat, and a martial artist! It's also the reason she feels comfortable helping strangers, a foot to the face often cures most people of those pesky dishonorable thoughts. Speaking of violence, as motherly as Quincy is, do not, ever, hurt those she cares about, or her rage in all its mother bear-like glory will be unleashed on your ass.

HISTORY:
→ Quincy was born to a Drachman woman and a Cretarian man in a traveling circus some two decades ago. Her mother, Miriam, was in charge of training and taking care of the animals, while her father, Desmond, was a knife thrower. Quincy, lacking her mother's authority over large animals, started training to be an acrobat from a very early age, and as the circus moved around in Amestris for a number of years and crossed over to Xing, Quincy had become quite the talented little monkey. She couldn't take part in the real show yet, but she was taking part in the animal-related shows, such as doing acrobatic feats while riding a horse or the like. When she was 9, the circus made a semi-permanent camp in Xing, seeing as how the troupe seemed to be quite popular there. The troupe did their best to educate Quincy and the other children in their youth, but since none of them were actually teachers, the children's education remained shaky. They were not dumb or stupid, but they were really only taught the most basic of necesseties.
While in Xing, Quincy was growing bored with just acrobatics, and due to this boredom she fell and injured her left eye. Her parents decided that maybe she should do something constructive since she had the energy but a low attention span. So they enrolled her into a martial arts school, to learn what the locals called "kung fu". Quincy loved it, and happily trained there as well as in the circus, though eventually the circus had to take a back seat to her passion for the martial art. In fact, during the ten years the circus remained in Xing, Quincy's life was rather uneventful aside from training, creating contacts and helping in the circus every now and then. She had turned into a rather capable martial artist in that decade, and even though she was a far cry from the masters and the older students, she was still an accomplished martial artist.
However, as she began maturing, she realized it would get a bit difficult to keep up with her training and her acrobatics. She cursed her mother's plentiful bloodline six ways to Sunday, but in the end there wasn't much she could do about it. It meant that while she could continue her training, she would have to stop appearing in the acrobatic shows as often as she had. Such a shame, she just got into the main act two years ago, too!
So Quincy descended into a sort of depression. She couldn't do what she loved that often anymore, but it was pretty much all she knew to do, so what else was there? This lasted a few months, until Miriam, bless her gruff soul, kicked Quincy in the ass and told her to pull herself together. She suggested that if she was not feeling well in the circus anymore, then perhaps she needed to go see the world a bit, to figure things out. Truth to be told it... It didn't sound half bad to Quincy. After all, she had always wondered what life was like outside the circus... So what the hell, might as well.
With that in mind, Quincy packed her belongings, said her goodbyes to the troop and set on her journey, at age 20. She toured Xing for a few months, before finally leaving and making her way to Amestris in about a year's time. When she made it to Amestris, she was excited and intrigued by it all. From what little she remembered of her history lessons, the whole region had had a very torrential history, but this place, this was amazing! The people and surroundings were so different, the language was so different, and- ... The language. She only knew how to order food, a room and maybe ask for a toilet. Oh dear. Thus began Quincy's year-long study-phase of the Amestrian language.
When she was approaching 23, Quincy had finally grasped the language well enough to function in Amestris. So she started setting up a small network of people who knew what was what, and through this network she caught wind of a possible money-making opportunity: underground fighting. Sure, it went against the teachings they'd hammered into her skull, but... She... She needed the money to get a better, steady job! So in she went, and in a span of half a year, became a rather popular fighter. Sure, she threw fights, but it was mostly to keep up the excitement. That brings it to her current status, where she has earned money but is still not sure if it's enough to get what she needs. And... She has... Kind of started to like the fighting. In a way.

→ Makes most of her money by participating in underground cage fights
→ It is pronounced DA-veed, not DEI-veed.

ALIAS:
→ Penny
OTHER CHARACTERS:
→ None, first character.
CREATOR'S COMMENTS:
→ I'm a little nervous... Also, I'm not sure if I should actually write Quincy's accent when speaking Amestrian or just leave it up to the other people to imagine it. Any advice?

Looks perfect to me! And no, you don't need to show the accent. Just put that (Cretarian (with a posh accent), Drachman, Xingese (speech only, she can't read or write a thing), Amestrian (with a slight Drachman accent that fades in and out)) into your signature, and everyone will understand, alright?
