DESCRIPTION:
→ Sayomi has dark brown hair that she usually wears tucked behind her ears to keep it out of her way. She has long bangs that are pushed to the side, falling just over one of her eyes. Her eyes are an odd shade of reddish brown and are rather large. The dark coloring of her hair and eyes make her seem paler than she actually is. Her eyebrows are perhaps one of her most distinguishing features. They slant down, making her appear almost angry, although she rarely ever is. Sayomi is rather short, and very skinny. Her voice is throaty and a little deep for a girl. As far as clothing goes, Sayomi has a very unique style. She likes to wear dresses. Her favorite one is black and green with short sleeves. She never goes out without first putting on her orange and brown stripped scarf for sentimental reasons.

PERSONALITY:
→ Sayomi suffers from a form of schizophrenia known as Dissociative identity disorder, more commonly known as multiple personality disorder (MPD). This disorder is exactly what it sounds like. It basically means that Sayomi has or, at least, believes herself to have, different personalities resting in her mind. In Sayomi's case, there are four, each of which have their own quirks and different names which they go by.

Her original persona, to put simply her 'default' personality is Sayomi herself. She is sarcastic, witty, and finds it impossible to take anything, or anyone for that matter, seriously. She is always cracking jokes and can find humor in even the most serious of situations. She will make jokes at other people's expense, but she doesn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings by it. Basically, she just wants to have fun. She can be childish at times, but she's a good friend and faithful, too.

Haylee, another of Sayomi's personalities, is more quiet and reserved than Sayomi. She is shy and tends to keep to herself. Unlike Sayomi, Haylee is very serious and rarely ever cracks a joke. She rarely even smiles. Haylee has very bad people skills and is, in many ways, antisocial all together. It's hard for her to get close to anyone, and when she does it's easy for her to lose faith and trust in them. If asked to describe herself, Haylee would say she's a 'commitaphobe' which basically means she turns and runs at the first sign of commitment. She's fine to hang out with someone for a while, provided they don't get too close.

Kirai is sarcastic and narcissistic, with a cruel wit. she is also very concerned about the way she is perceived in the world, often making very illogical and self-destructive decisions in order to keep her general bad girl-like image. However, she is very skilled at what she does, and likes her job very much. In fact, work seems to consume Kirai, and she likes to feel needed. Despite her brilliance, Kirai has, for the most part, failed to rise up the professional ladder because she refuses to accept help from others. She likes to believe that she is independent enough so that she doesn't need help from anyone, and tends to take it to offense when someone offers to help her. Kirai, like Haylee, likes being alone and doesn't much care for relationships. She loves being right, and will often refuse to accept the fact that she is wrong. She's stubborn and will argue with you for hours until you admit that she's right, even when she knows she isn't.


Ame is Sayomi's final personality. She is, in simple terms, insane. Ame is sadistic and cynical. She is very cruel. She believes that, like the bat that is a part of her, she needs to drink blood to survive. In her mind, the more blood she drinks, the longer she can live. As a result, she targets anyone she can easily overpower around the streets. If that person is lucky, Ame will only knock them unconscious and use a needle to draw blood from them. Unfortunately, she kills her victims more often than not. During the day, Ame may seem sweet and harmless, but at night she becomes a cold blooded killer. Because she is pretty much a figment of Sayomi's imagination, she Sayomi has no memories of these murders, which makes Ame pretty hard to find. Catching her had, so far, proved impossible.

→ Haylee: Inappropriately loud noises, relationships that get too serious, having to trust people, milk, 'healthy alternatives' to candy, movies that ruin the books they're based on
→ Kirai: Being wrong, feeling useless, people who 'just want to help her out', people who refuse to accept her 'image', empty threats from her boss to 'fire her for making other employees cry'
→ Ame: The constant threat of being caught, victims that die quickly and painlessly accidentally, being tricked or made a fool of, cops, being hurt herself

DEEPEST SECRET:
→ The fact that she spent a great majority of her childhood in an institution.

HISTORY:
→ Up until she was two years old, Sayomi could have been considered a normal child. Unfortunately, shortly after her second birthday, Sayomi began showing signs of schizophrenia. She began showing a vacant expression permanently, as if she were somewhere else. Her parents thought this was odd, but saw nothing so out of the ordinary that they thought it should be checked out. That is, until more signs of the disease became visible to them, such as the difficulty focusing on objects, overly acute senses, insomnia, etc. They continued to ignore the symptoms, however, until Sayomi began talking to herself as if someone else were there. Only then did her parents take her to see a psychologist. The psychologist almost immediately diagnosed the young girl with schizophrenia. Soon afterwords, she was also diagnosed with the MPD.

Sayomi's parents, unable to deal with the fact that their child was to be considered mentally unstably from there on out, had her placed in an institution only weeks after the psychologist's diagnosis was confirmed. Sayomi would spend the next ten years of her life in that institution, and all that time her parents only visited her once. Sayomi has little to no memory of her parents, and doesn't really care. She doesn't blame them for shipping her off, although she does wish they would have visited.

For the entire time that Sayomi was in the institution, her other personalities stayed recessive and rarely ever showed themselves. The psychologists at the institution believed that her case of MPD was very minor and could probably be well controlled with medication as she grew older, but due to the fact that her parents refused to house her, Sayomi was forced to remain in the institution.

The institution that Sayomi was a patient at was closely affiliated with the Amestris military, which, at the time, was always looking for willing test subjects. When she was twelve, the doctors at the institution sat Sayomi down and asked her if she wanted to leave. Sayomi replied yes, of course she did. The psychologists made a deal with both Sayomi and the military scientists and handed her over as a test subject for a large amount of cash. Sayomi didn't know what would be done to her, only that she would be able to leave the institution. The military scientists promised her that once their testing was done, and she turned eighteen, she could leave and do whatever she wanted.

The particular testing that Sayomi was a part of was the creation of human chimaeras that could function with a human mind but still get the better qualities of the animal they were forged with. Sayomi was to be alchemically forged with a vampire bat. The scientists were particularly optimistic about Sayomi's procedure because of her young age. Unfortunately, though, something in the alchemy used to connect Sayomi with the bat collided with her existing personality disorder, causing it to become worse. Sayomi would have blackouts, during which her other personalities would 'take over', for lack of a better word, her body and control it. Upon awakening from her blackouts, which could last for weeks, even months at a time, Sayomi didn't remember anything she had done.

The scientists tested on her for years but couldn't determine the cause of the worsening disorder. Eventually, they gave up and let her be. They schooled her properly and gave her the equivalent to a high school diploma, something she probably wouldn't have gotten if she'd stayed in the institution. True to their word, the scientists released Sayomi from their lab when she turned eighteen, and even payed her for her services. Sayomi joined the military and is stationed in the Investigations Office. All four of her personalities work there, although Kirai tends to enjoy it the most.

TRIVIA:
→ While Sayomi knows of her disorder, she has never actually been aware of her different personalities.
She can occasionally hear the faint whisper of one of her other personalities in the back of her mind, but hasn't spoken to any of them directly since she was a child.
All of Sayomi's personalities act more or less the same when at work so that no one will notice their disorder.
→ All four personalities speak the same language, Amestrian. As far as colors go, Sayomi will be posted as blue, Haylee as pink, Kirai as purple and Ame as red.
