Frosted Winds

A pole of ice, 2 meters tall, 10cm diameter. A perfect cyllinders lined up in their 100's. A new training method designed by Yeon-hwa to increase the agility, flexibility and combat reaction time of soldiers. Essentially this was a reacreation of the bamboo sky training of the east. They would be spaced out over each other in 30cms intervals. The battle field in total would be a 5 by 5 meter battle field ellavted into the air. The rules were simply stay ontop the platforms at all times. Untop such a pillar was Yeon-hwa. Wearing a sleevess top with her Katana strapped over her shoulders. below she wore the blue military uniform. This was all she sported, anymore would be a hinderance. Why exactly was she standing ontop of there? Nero... spar meeting... And there he stood on the one side of the field. He would experience the speed and agility that comes with a Xing assassion and body gaurd.

Nero had walked into the same area that Yeon was in. He was wearing his medium-long overcoat, a red vest under that, and under the vest, a black shirt. He was wearing dark colored pants that could be seen as either dark blue or black, and his sword was nicely attached to his back. He looked around as he watched a little as his breath was litle puffs of smoke. He soon shrugged off his distraction and walked over to Yeon. "Hey there, Yeon, I'm here and ready for our Spar." He said, smiling and chuckling a little uneasily. He wasn't used to fighting a woman, even in a spar. Fighting a woman was completly against his nature, his nature was to flirt with women, not fight, or even spar with them. He continued to smile towards her, and waved a little. He wondered if he would able to live with himself if he hurt a woman. He then quickly climbed onto one of the poles, balencing as best as he could. They were poles made of ice, obviously.

Yeon-hwa made a simply bow mixed with a nod. Compasionate and kind girl she was, choosing to avoid violence and much prefering the peaceful way. Ironic as it was, to achieve peace and non-violence one had to often practice to be violent. Yeon-hwa's aim was to end it as quickly as possible. Those who had the chance to spar with her would realize and meet a whole new side of her. A much more serious and less clumsier Yeon-hwa. With light sandled feet Yeon-hwa seemed to move without sound, there was a distance of 3 meters between the two, Nero would have one meter behind him before falling down.

battle assessment, protrude left arm, fake a hit. Block First strike with left by pushing it down-wards. make own strike quick right arm to the chest. Weave by ducking, use retracting right arm to block possible left hook.

Within under a second Yeon-hwa had moved towards Nero with speed. Acting as she had thought, protruding the left arm half way to fake a hit. Her true nature of attack would come with her right fist aiming to hit his chest. As for retracting and pulling back her defense would be set. Now What whould the Head of Defense do?

He watched as Yeon had bowed a little and nodded her head. He was amazed at how quickly she could move so gracefully on pules made from ice. He then noticed she moved her left arm half way out, and moved his arms to block, but noticed her attack changed at the last moment. He saw her fist going straight for his chect, so he quickly moved his right hand to move her fist, but wasn't fast enough to have her miss him completly, but enough that she would hit his left shoulder. He spun behind her, but only spun because of the ice, and away from the edge that he was near before the spar began. When Nero had spun, he would accidentally hit Yeon 's ribcage and back. He got into a defensive position after he regains his balence and coordination. He had, more or less, get used to the ice. He watched Yeon closely, trying to see if he could analyze her fighting style.

Yeon-hwa's punch hit his left shoulder, Nero using the impact of the force to spin around her. A punch to the rib cage came flying in, luckily she expected some form of counter attack though she would have liked a left. Using her retracting right hand she slapped the punch away, her pre-determined weave and duck helping her to void the punching of her back. Now she was somewhat in a lower stance as she watched Nero take a defensive stance, launching out a back kick with her left leg. With her two hands she grabbed a pole each, spread her weight evenly and pushed herself into the air and turned her body. Her already out strechted left leg acting as a point and guide for her Right aerial around the house kick. This kick would look to hit his Jaw. As the attack finished Yeon-hwa would put her arms up protecting her sides. Very Aggressive.

Nero watched as she more or less pushed herself into the air. he continued to watch as she launched a right aerial round house kick. He moved his right arm to get his sword only to block, knowing that a kick with that force would crack one of the bones in his arm. He slid back a few inches, and quickly moved the sword back to where it was on his back. He noticed that Yeon's fighting style was fast and powerful, then pulling back a little. He sighed trying to come up with something. He nodded just very slightly, and ran towards her, taking only a few steps, taking advantage over the ice's slickness. He quickly lowered himself and spun around, to sweep his left leg and try to trip Yeon. He then would apply some force to the ice to jump into the air above her, and tried to throw her, via grabbing the shoulder parts of her shirt and only used the motion from him to throw her at the other side of the ice poles, but not enough to for her to be thrown off. Also the shirt was only used to throw her, and wasn't moved by him, except by grabbing the shoulders. He soon felt a sharp pain in his shoulder, which was cause by the aerial right roundhouse kick.

She was rather amazed with the man. Not only had he blocked near 50 kgs of mass plus a powerful kick with his bare arms but he had balance over his body enough to spin on the small space of one ice pillar in attempt to trip her. Elementry, She jumped with a light hop just to avoid the sweeping leg. However she had not expected the man to preform a front flip. As her feet touched the ground she felt firm hands grab her shoulder.

Yeon-hwa's body was sent flying in the air. " damn " Her hands searched for the red hilt of her katana. Her body was off the boundry but was still in the air, she justed needed to get back on the ice poles. There was a shriek of metal as her Katana escaped the wooden sheathe. With the tip of the blade, she pegged it into the ice pillar.

"very close.." She was hanging on the side of the pillars using her Katana as a branch of hope. With the tips of her left finger Yeon-hwa transmuted the tip of the ice poles in which Nero was balancing on. To water she had transmuted the ice. Hoping the sudden water would make Nero slip and lose balance. She only needed a brief moment to unpeg the sword and move back onto the platform. For now she was still on the side.

Nero watched her slide towards the edge. He slighed in relief as she stopped herself with her katana. He saw her quickly use some alchemy, but soon slightly lost his balance as the poles under his feet turned into ice. He quickly fell to one of his knees, and stayed there while he put his hands together and moved his arms quickly and strongly, so that he could use his alchemy. As soon as his conditions were met for his alchemy, which was moving the wind around him to make a vacuum. He then had the vacuum go just infront of Yeon's sword, and when it hit, there was a hole like a screw was taken out. As soon as his wind vacuum hit just infront where Yeon's sword was, he stood up, and walked away from the edge of the area they were fighting one. He waited again for Yeon to attack. "looks like you're a great fighter." He said, smiling, but not letting down his gaurd.

There was a thrust of something unusaul as a vacuum of air shattered the ice pole she was hanging on. Wind alchemy, that would proove to be annoying. Yeon pushed back into the air and for a moment it looked like she would land on the ground and possibly lose the fight. She had jumped to avoid the vaccum that would carry. In her right hand was the red hilt, her left hand slid vertically.

The poles of ice wavered and liquidfied at her whim, Nero would begin to fall from two meters and up. "Blade and Alchemy?" Yeon-hwa believed she was the better swordsmen however she would see who's fighting stlye would proove to be superior. Water was falling very much like a great cascade of a water fall. Yeon-hwa kneeled down as she touched some of the water that had already fallen to the floor. Two hydrogens bonded to one oxygen moleciule, break. Hydrogen.. unstable substance bond with another Hyrdogen. Remaining oxygen... pure form... transmute ... Nitrogen... Diatomic.. bond with other Nitrogens.

She had transmuted a good amount to nitrogen, one could say 20 litres worth of Nitrogen which now floated in the small training room. She would watch to see where Nero would fall, the falling water blocking his site to what Yeon had just done.

Battle Assessment. Nero... dazed possibly disorientated by sudden change in movement. Possiblity of Nero being stable and focused 70%. Suprise attack negative.

Nero would be unable to see her but that was same for her. She could not tell exactly where Nero himself was. If she hastely charged in, she could well lose an arm. At least she was in the advantage, the floor was now covered with water. She was in her element.

Final call... defensize
Yeon-Hwa changed her footing getting ready to dash away from Nero's wind. If that kind of thing hit her she would very well die. " lucky i'm fast eh?"

Nero felt the ice under him turn to water, and as the ice melted, he grabbed the tope of one of the poles, because he would be too low to get back up. He quickly pulled himself up quickly just to notice that there was virtually no visibility. Nero quickly pulled his sword off from his back, and pulled the handle that was on the sword, but only after holding it by the hilt. When he pulled the handle, there was a flammible substance that was sprayed onto the blade, and ignited almost instantly. He held the sword infront of him just to let the sword heat up, and quickly moved the sword across the ice poles. He looked around not knowing where Yeon would be, so he stayed on his gaurd. "Crap! I can't see anything." He said, knowing the poles around him were slightly melted. He could see his sword, that was still on fire, but nothing further than four feet in front of him.

By now all the poles had fully melted leaving only a floor full of water that came ankle high. Nero could be seen holding his rather over sized sword. By the looks of it... it was on fire. Hmm heat eh? Her own blade made the things she touched hot. " i thank you for the compliment ^^. I may be clumsy and light at heart but I was brought up to be a fighter She casually smiled as she was covered in water, her thin top becoming somewhat see through. Glad she was that she was wearing a bra, but the blackness of the bra didn't help as much as she wanted to. Her military pants were getting heavy after being drenched in water. First chance she got she would have to tear them to be shorts!

" would you care to be on the offensive this time?"
She smiled brightly her head slightly tilting to the side as she did.

"No problem. Your welcome for the compliment." He said, with a smile, still holding his sword defensivly. Nero soon got a little distracted by seeing Yeon's clothes get soaked. He gulped but, tried to move his attention from her body back to the fight, but he was having a little trouble doing so. He closed his eyes and shook his head, then looked at Yeon again. "I'm not one to go offensive against women." He said, with a small sigh, slashing the air with his sword to extinguish the fire that was on his sword. He smiled towards her, continuing to hold the sword defensivly. This fight will be dificult now. He thought, gulping again. He inhaled and exhaled slowly, trying to focus on the fight, and not Yeon's wet clothes. Now, Nero was in a predicament. On one hand, he knew the fight was going on and he wanted to examine Yeon's fighting style, but on the other hand, he was a natural flirt and what he usually would do in a situation like this.

The man was dwadling, he seemed to be distracted by something. She tilted her head to the other side. "I'm not one to go offensive against women." Ahh so he was one a gentle or two gentle-men wanna be but really a pervert? She flicked the sword and let her wrists spin, displaying a flash of her silver blade. "Well it seems we will have to solve that problem"

Yeon-hwa grabbed her military fatigues, ripping it once and twice creating short pants that rode aboce her knees. These dropped to the floor getting drenched in the ankle high water. "don't get distracted alright?" she smiled. Reaching down below to removed the torn pieces from off her legs. As she leaned forward it was possible to see the bare soft skin, the light curves casting a shadow.

As she got up Yeon-hwa had tossed the one side of her water drench pants. The target was his legs, not much but she tossed the 2nd article at his face, covering a good portion of his vision towards Yeon-hwa. A cover if you will.

Battle assessment, target's point of view, -distraction, attack will come from behind the clothes. Clothes = distraction and not a real attack- My analsys, Clothes is the actual attack, reverse psychology do the unexpected yet in the obvious manner- Plan? Transmutation restrain opponent, approach from different angle. Execute

As the wet clothes flew towards Nero, Yeon-hwa lifted her unseen left hand towards them. This action instantly caused the flying water drenched clothes to slowly freeze. Yeon-hwa moved to the left side of Nero with the same speed that had suprised Nero. There was a few seconds delay in which Nero would be able to see her bladed attack soaring through the air to cut stomach (mind you she would stop if he did not block).

Now if all was according to plan, Nero would be looking for Yeon-hwa's attack not realizing that infact she was the distraction and the freezing clothes themselves the attack. If this simple worked Nero would find his legs frozen in place and his facial region unable to move about freely.

Nero gulped as Yeon made her pants into shorts. Even though he wasn't smiling on the outside, he was smiling on the inside. But when she threw something towards him, he quickly used his sword to slap away the peice of pant, but noticed it was slowly freezing to his sword. He tried to take a step towards her, but found he was unable to to the ice. I have to stop the ice before Red Queen runs out. He thought, pulling the handle on his sword once more to spray the flammable liquid onto the sword, which soon ignited when it hit the sword. The fire soon melted the frozen clothe that was frozen on the blade, and Nero sighed a little. But just after he sighed, he noticed that Yeon came towards him, and moved his sword to deflect her sword, but not enough to miss him completly. He got scratched, and quickly elbowed Yeon in the stomach. He didn't want to use his sword, because it was turning a little red from being on fire for so long. Luckily, Nero knew that the fire and heat wouldn't be too bad for it, as the sword never cracked, or expanded when he used Exceed for an extended period of time. He quickly moved his sword to melt the ice around his legs, and moved back a little, moving into an offensive position. "I won't get distracted." He said, his voice cold and distant, which was usual for him if someone drew blood or hurt his feelings, which this one, was that Yeon drew blood.

The elbow came flying in towards he stomach. A simple left hand to the flying elbow combined with a little hop was used to flip her body over Nero. Yeon-hwa now stood back to back with Nero. She was suprised at first that he could deliver such a voice. She would see what the Head of Defense could do. " don't disappoint me " The voice was not her usual husky and sweet voice. Rather a excited voice of that of a child, though one could not shake the feeling of something sinister.

Your sword... has flame like abilities. I can sort of understand it. How does your sword manage it's heat?

Nero by now would have felt a hot stinging pain on that small cut he had recieved. That was what her blade did, excite the particles and make the enemy wounds annoyingly hot. She remembered herself.. she had one recieved a cut while cleaning it. hot hot hot! annoyingly hot! something that couldn't easily cool down.

Her sword was in her right hand, held on a upper hilt. Her left hand was free and by her side. She let the silence and stillness of the two invade the spar. Things would get serious now. " tell me.... what is your assessment of this spar... tell me as if this was a real battle... Head of Defense... Even if I am new, I would like to know if the others are capable of doing their jobs"

The air of the room had been evenly spaced out in that 6 by 7 meter training room. Yeon-hwa's left free hand started to transmute the water on the floor. Hydrogen split, stabilize. Oxygen transmute to nitrogen. She switched to a Amestrian and into a soft and honey like voice. with this she turned her head to the side and softly whispered to his ear.
"give me a battle situation, Nerose"

"I assure you... I won't." He said, replying in the same language Yeon had. He then listened to her question of how his sword managed the heat. "The metal the sword is made out of, is very durable, and absorbs heat very well." He said, soon feeling a very painful hot stinging pain in his arm. He held back the pain while he listened to her talk. "My assessment... is that you're one to analyze your opponent, figure out a strategy, and if the time comes, use your opponents weakness against them, and even use distractions against them. You are also extremely agile and can overcome most attacks with relative ease." He said, saying all that he could figure out about Yeon's fighting style. A few minutes after he finished talking, he couldn't take the annoyence of the pain from the cut. "With me, and your wound, there is one way to negate it. Deliver a wound of more pain." He said, stabbing his sword into the ground hard. the tip of the sword hissed as it hit some water. He grabbed the blade with the hand of the arm the was cut. He flinched in pain when he grabbed it. Soon he pulled his hand off of it, not feeling the pain of her cut anymore, but now the pain that was radiating from his palm, which was now bleeding. "I kinda have... no battle situations right now." He said, pansing because of the pain. He pulled the sword out of the ground with his hand that wasn't injured.

" Your assessment over me is rather good, however you have missed a large amount of vital information. Your job is the defense of Fort Briggs. Next to Reila-san you should be the one to be well aware of your surroundings during a battle. By now you should have understood that I am somewhat of an ice related alcehmist.

Yeon-hwa walked away from Nero, still with their backs to each other. She played with the water around her feat creating pulses of water here and there. She turned around facing Nero. " I was hoping you would notice the advantage of battle field I had, and your assessment ending in that you would need to stand on even grounds again if not higher."

Yeon-hwa lifted her left hand up, a good 3 meters seperating her from Nero. Transmute. Liquid Nitrogen would rapidly form around Nero and almost appear as if it was chasing him. The Liquid nitrogen would be harmful to the skin and instantly freeze the tissue, the water on the floor around nero and with the aid of Yeon-hwa the air itself!

"I was keeping that part to myself." He said, after hearing her first statement. He soon noticed that she was walking away and was creating pulses with the water. He turned to see her walk away from him. "I can tell. i know what ice alchemists can do with water." He said, pulling the handle on the hilt of his sword, making the flames larger. He sighed, and he was still panting. He soon saw a cloud of liquid nitrogen, so to speak, come after him. He knew there was no way that he could go through it without being hurt, so he decided to run around it. He ran as fast as he could, and decided to clench his injured hand, even though it caused him alot of pain, and when he got close enough he aimed a punch towards her abdomen, and quickly swung his sword diagonally towards her, knowing it would be stopped by the wall. "Fighting in water isn't my ideal terrein." He whispered into her ear in a low voice. Then he waited for her to do something. The fire on his sword was close enough to both of them for them to feel the heat from the red-hod blade.

Yeon-hwa watched as he managed to escape the dangerous liquid, making his way around it and charging towards her. Yeon-hwa took on strangely an offensive stance, odd. Holding the Blade on a back hand. The punch came flying in, Yeon-hwa simply pushed it down with her left hand, decreasing it's strength as it merely skimmed off her side. Close though. The sword came flying in, she outreached her right index finger and pointed it to his sword arm. Spraying a jet of Transmuting Liquid Nitrogen that would aim to hit his wrists and shoulders. Nero would need to pull back if He continued his swing would be stopped. That fire was getting dangerous, she would need to see to it.

Nero grunted and jumped back as he got hit by a little amount of the transmuted liquid nitrogen. He did what he could by pulling and holding the handle on the hild of his sword for a few seconds the spray hit the blade, the fire grew and heated up the nearby area, within 3 feet of the blade. It was just enough to make his un-wounded arm usable again. He quickly stabbed the tip of his sword into the ground turned the hilt a little, and pulled it out quickly. He swung the sword, as if slashing as her, horizontaly. When he swung it, he pulled the handle, and the liquid that was used to light the sword on fire, sprayed towards Yeon. it was ignited in mid-air because of the flame and heat of the sword. He sighed as he started to lose feeling in his wounded arm, and sighed a little.

Come now, Nerose do not disappoint me!
Yeon-hwa simply ducked under the flames and dashed past Nero. This was rather getting redundant, probably the wound he had recieved was bugging him. Yeon-hwa two had recieved a few minor injuries, her face was red from the heat that the big sword had constantly emitted. It was good that her clothes were wet or they might have been fringed and damaged.
Step up or you'll lose
Yeon-hwa lifted her hand up as she transmuted the air around Nero to Methane. That flaming sword of his would be his downfall. Use the enemies attack or advantage against him.

Nero scoffed a little as she told him to step or or lose. Just as soon as she started the transmutation, he stabbed his sword into the ground and jumped back. He just bearly avoided the flames, and chuckled. He watched the fire engulf everything in the area of the sword for a small amount of time. The fire from the transmutation that Yeon had done, quickly disappeared, and he quickly moved his right palm onto his left forearm where another transmutation circle was, and after he did, the same wind vacuum from before formed, but he used some of the flame from his sword so that the wind would be a flaming ball. He quickly shot it at her. After he did so, he jumped over and grabbed his sword. He moved to slash horizontally, only trying to make a small scratch onto Yeon's torso, which the heat from the sword would almost instantly cauterize. "Now, I'm stepping up. I only hold back because I don't want to burn either of us." He said, with a chuckle, feeling the heat from the sword as he swung it. He knew that if the sword stayed on fire, the fire would soon turn white, indicating that it was getting hotter.
