Re: Looking for a home
"Beauty huh...."Ilona hated that word. Back in when she was an Assassin, they forced her to use her good looks to tempt her targets and kill them. The practice repulsed to her to the point that she hated being a woman. She simply sighed and rested her head on Karyu's lap, slowly falling asleep.
Ilona wasn't superised that Karyu said he was sexy, years have pasted seen she had a good look at him. When they read out his history to her back then, she couldn't help but be superised. Not only because he changed to so but because he was now notorious as a Yakuza and Military leader.
If only I didn't move..Would things had been different...Would I had been an ordinary person if I hadn't moved?

Re: Looking for a home
Karyu nodded slightly and noticed that she had laid down on his lap. He smiled slightly, laughing to himself a little, but did not make a sound or make any movements of retalliation. He simply stroked her hair, and opened his red poetry book, holding it with one hand. He scanned the pages slowly, enjoying the moment while he could. He would surely be a target now that he was with Ilona, if he wasn't a atarget already. He sighed slightly, but decided not to let his thoughts ruin such a perfect moment. He slowly flipped the page with his thumb, and continued to stroke Ilona's hair, reading to himself silently. It was a weird sight for one to believe they were lovers, no? He looked out the clear windows, or should he say glass doors, and looked at the sun in the sky. The clouds covered most of the sky, and they seemed to be a little gloomy, some turning a gray color.
He enjoyed rain, it always made a situation more peaceful. He took a deep breath and returned his gaze to his book and began reading. To think that so much had changed in so little time. It was hard for someone like him to believe it. He had become such a horrible person, taking life after life, falling into the category of items he hated... humans. Taking life from everything around him, taking even the life of other humans, and not once did he shed a tear for their tortured souls. Then again, did humans even have souls? Or were they just like him and other warlords who sought destruction as he did?

Re: Looking for a home
Ilona, out of curiousity, tapped the book and suddenly got an image of all these arrary of words. Poetry huh? Back then, poetry was the only thing that kept her sane, it must have been the deepness of the words..The particular poems she remembered was the ones from a novel called Genji no Monogatari that she had aquired from one of her assassination targets.
The words moved her so deeply, she could have sworn that the writer was narrating her own life story through the point of the view of the women in the story...
"To bid farewell at dawn will surely elict a tear, though never have I seen such a lonely autumn sky as this morning I witnessed.."Ilona quoted. Her favourite character in the novel had to be Murasaki. The poor woman who declared her love in so many self-numerous sacrifices..Was Ilona no different from her...?

Re: Looking for a home
Karyu slowly stroked her hair and continued reading the poetry books. Serenity had finally reached him as he had peace all around him. No blood was being shed, there weren't screams of sorrow and pain, blades couldn't be heard ripping through flesh... all was calm. He sighed slightly and smiled warmly. He had never witnessed such beauty since he joined the military. He simply flipped through his book, going to his favorite poem. Loveless. He read the lines to himself quietly, reciting every single word by heart, moving ahead of his eyes. He then noticed that his beloved, Ilona, was still awake as she quoted a diffrent poem. He saw her touch the book, and then know exactly what the topic of the book was. Funny, using alchemy to see, definately diffrent. He then chuckled slightly, reliazing that he finally could enjoy himself.
"Beautifully recited, who wrote it?"

Re: Looking for a home
"Murasaki Shikibu I believe..She was a Lady attendant for the Emperor in Aurego...."Ilona said abit sleepily. She analaysed the poems Karyu was reading and found deepness in them. But she loved Murasaki's poems more as they talk about love lost and so forth.
She then thought of a another verse to much the current situation: peaceful, quiet....
"You who know the beauty of this spring night, surely it is our deep rooted connection that has brought us together..."
Ilona remembered how she read these poems and the novel over and over, never getting bored of them. The novel was her only escape from her wretched life and gave her comfort and peace..

Re: Looking for a home
Karyu smirked and chuckled after hearing her recite the poem again. To think she loved poems this much, he never knew her as one to enjoy them. He simply shifted his body a little, becoming slightly more comfortable. He looked over at a bird sitting on the branch of a tree, chirping away, happily. This reminded him of a poet who went by the name of Muramasa. This man was a strategist for Karyu while he was in the military, however, he suffered a tragic death by the hands of Amestris... He did not care about the man's death, but rather the lost of his beautiful poetry. He sighed again, reminiscing the past. He hated the thought of so many great minds he lost, but simply yawned and moved on.
"The mountains in automn
there are so much fallen leaves,
- looking for my lost wife/lover
I cannot find the path."
He recited this poem, it being one by the man, Muramasa. Muramasa had learned of Karyu's past promise, and wrote it for the man for condolence, however, revealing he knew too much is what led to his death...

Re: Looking for a home
Ilona simply smiled, cannot think of anymore poems to match the situation. She then finally drifted to sleep on his lap, closing her eyes slowly. Though it made no difference as she was already in darkness..
She imagined what life would be like if she and Karyu kept their promise...But Ilona could not imagine anything. Their sins seemed to be too great to grant them a new, peaceful life. The future seemed gloomy and foggy to Ilona. She just simply had to prepare what was coming to them......
She shifted her body into a more comfortable position, her back to Karyu's stomach. The wings of the demon Lilith on her back poked out as if the demoness wanted to fly away...

Re: Looking for a home
Karyu continued to read his book, the radio changing to, yet another song. He sighed slightly and flipped the page once more, his right hand stroking Ilona's hair. He thought about how the two were targeted by many, and how their personal life would be affected by so much trouble. Could they be happy together when they had to watch their backs everytime? He simply shrugged it off and picked up his cup of tea. He imagined what would of happened if Ilona hadn't of ever moved. If they would have children, the condition of their current lives, and if he still would of been a yakuza leader. All these thoughts raced through his head, and he couldn't help but search for answers.
He then reverted back to the thoughts of last night. She said she pushed him away from her for a reason. That reason turned out to be the assassination she was supposed to carry out to kill him. If she had of gone through with it, what would have happened that day if she had attempted to kill him? Would they have been enemies? Friends? Lovers? Or humans? This question made his head hurt, giving him a throbbing headache. His tea shook lightly as someone below them slammed their door, and he simply put away his book.
'Death... what kept you from coming that day?"

Re: Looking for a home
Ilona clearly remembred her shock and distress when she was told to assassinate Karyu. What superised her more was the fact he became a completely different person....
Back then, she was planning to leave the Organisation for a long time and Karyu being her target cemented her cause to run away...Even though she shouldn't of, Ilona went as if she was going to kill him but did not: she wanted to see him again.
Ilona remembered the exchange of gunshots that passed between her and Karyu and quickly disappeared into the night....
She sleepily lifted her arm up and stroked Karyu's cheek with her hand as if to make sure that he was there beside her..
