DEscriptION:
→ Josef is a rather average looking person with no very distinguishing features. He hair is slightly long, reaching as far as the bottom of his neck and is a dark earthen brown color. His hair tends to be very messy since he travels around with very little money and no place to live, but it usually turns out fine if he just washes it a bit. His skin (when not covered with dirt) is light like most people living in Creta and its neighbor, Amestris. Josef’s eyes are a light gray brown, which all together contributes to his plain, down to earth appearance. When the weather is cold, or even a little cool, Josef usually dons a large brown zipper-jacket with a large collar turned downward. Underneath his jacket is a thick white sweater with a high collar that peaks above his outerwear. He typically leaves his jacket open, so the sweater is easily visible. To top it off, Josef tends to wear a long black scarf wrapped loosely around his shoulders. When the weather is too hot for such heavy clothing, he’ll wear a plain, long sleeved or short sleeved t-shirt. Josef almost always wears jeans and sneakers with whatever else he wears.

PERSONALITY:
→ As his appearance may suggest, Josef is a person who’s feet tread the ground lightly, who’s heart is down to earth, and his head is up in the clouds. In just a few words, it would be best and most accurate to describe Josef as a kind hearted scholar. He enjoys learning and studying various subjects full-heartedly. This includes everything from alchemy to history. If there ever is a book around, then he’ll be eager to read and learn. He likes to pick up new skills and gain more knowledge, like any scholar. He sometimes gets so absorbed in studies that he forgets about everything around him, he’ll even forget to eat. This can be quite troublesome though, as he has a very fast metabolism that requires him to eat much more than a normal person, and even faint from hunger at a quicker rate as well. But as the old saying goes, one must enhance the body as well as the mind. To stay in physical shape, Josef trains in a form of martial art similar to the fighting styles of Xing (based on what he read in books) and basic close quarters fighting techniques utilized in military training (also read from a book). Josef always seems to be in a good mood, trying to make the best out of everyday situations and seeming completely unaware of his own troubles. Since Josef spent much of his time growing up alone, he longs to be in the company of others and has been known to show nearly unconditional trust in anyone who treats him with even the slightest bit of kindness. Josef is kind to a fault and this leads him to have a very naïve and idealistic nature. He easily trusts the words of others without considering that they would be using him as a tool, and he clings to the idea that everyone could get along if the world was rid of ignorance and prejudice. Josef could never bring himself to steal from anyone, nor would he hurt anyone close to him, even if they suddenly turned on him. Josef could absolutely never bring himself to kill a person unless put in the most dire and extreme situations, and even then, he would be consumed by his own guilt. I could be easily said, that since Josef was without family and friends for such a long time, that any person willing to show him love and affection would have him wrapped around their finger. All in all, Josef always seems to have a smile on his face. Whether he is happy or just want others to be happy. He enjoys life for what it is, treading on the pursuit of happiness, knowledge, friendship, and love.

HISTORY:
→ A middle class family in London, Creta is where Josef’s history begins. Born to a Colonel in the military, Josef was the younger of two brothers who were prepped for the army since a young age. His older brother, David, was nearly 12 years older than him and joined the military at the age of 17, when Josef was only 6 years old. David was interested in the military even before his father began prepping him to become a soldier, but at the age of 6, Josef already had a personal interest of his own, reading. Josef learned to read before he was even of schooling age, and though he showed some interest in learning the about the military, he never once stated that he wanted to be a soldier like daddy and big brother when he grows up. But regardless of what dreams Josef might of held as a child, his father and brother trained him as a soldier anyway. For several years, Josef was trained in the ways of close quarters combat, firearm marksmanship, and general understanding of the structure of the military branches and the stratagems of war.
However, seven years before Josef could even become the hard-eyed soldier his father dreamed of, a tragedy befell the family. Josef’s father, Robert Draper had stumbled upon a plan made by the higher up to kill an elderly General who had opposed an operation to use Drachma civilians casualties inflicted by their own soldiers as a scapegoat to lure Drachma into all out war with Amestris, which in turn, would spread the enemy’s defenses so thin that it would leave them vulnerable to an all out invasion. Robert learned of this plan and confronted the Generals, threatening to inform Parliament and the Prime Minister of the underhanded dealings of the group of Generals. However, Robert’s straightforward method of dealing with this problem was his downfall, as he was framed for the murder of the elderly Genreral. Accused by several higher ranking officers who were back by false testimonials, Robert Ingles Draper was stripped of his rank and sentenced to death. David Draper stayed in the military, keeping his mixed feelings over his father’s accusation and trial to himself. Mary Draper, the wife of Robert and mother of David and Josef fled the country, seeing no point in living amongst people who saw them as the family of an infamous murderer. Mary offered David to accompany them, but his patriotic love of Creta prevented him from abandoning his position and country, despite the general disdain casted upon him by his fellow soldiers.
Mary and Josef Draper moved to Amestris to start a new life. It was a life of poverty and hardship, as mother and child lived in a rundown shack on the outskirts of West City. Even this life was short-lived for the impoverished family, for dear Mary Draper died of sickness, too poor to even to see a doctor. Josef was 12 when his mother died. Her death left him with relatively nothing. He packed up what little he had, mainly books, photos, and a tiny sum of money, and set off to try and make it on his own.
Before his mother’s untimely death, Josef attempted to further his skills in alchemy, which he had only dabbled in before. He hoped to make a living for both himself and his mother by using his alchemy to perform chores for citizens willing to pay, or if at all possible, to become a state alchemist to ensure a stable life for the both of them. Even after his mother’s death, he continued to study the art, intrigued by the science and ability of alchemy. Josef improved his alchemy and worked part time jobs to pay for his food, clothing, and studying material. He even rented out apartments at times when he needed the space to conduct an experiment. When he didn’t have the money to pay for a temporary place to stay, Josef would just set up camp in the woods or nap in the streets like the orphan he was. Despite his lack of funds, Josef loved to travel and would often travel across the country on foot or by hitching rides. He carried all his books and research documents in a backpack, and whenever he came across enough money to buy another book, he would do so as soon as possible. Within the five years of travel he experienced on his own, Josef became somewhat of an alchemy prodigy, considering the fact that all his techniques were learned from books and developed on his own. He visited nearly every country bordering Amestris and learned the language and culture of them, as well as some alchemy techniques. Despite his poor lifestyle, his life was enriched with knowledge, and he was happy. He shed tears for his mother at times, and often wondered what became of his father and brother, but he managed to stay happy and enjoyed what little he could in life. Josef was one of few who could walk the streets with tattered clothes and an empty stomach, and still have a smile on his face.
Only a few months after his 17th birthday, Josef aquired and adeqaute amount of money from a part time job, which he used to rent out another apartment for one of his adventures in alchemy experimentation. This time, Josef hoped to alter the functions of his organs to mirror those of an electric eel. He studied all the correct material and even improved upon a couple of theories, but the ned result was a partial failure at best. Instead of creating cells that generated electricity and released it on command, he caused a mutation in his liver that converted extra, unused amounts of ATP into natural body electricity instead of extra fat. The result was an astounding surplus of natural body electricity stored in his liver and surrounding organs. Josef was astounded by this new function that his organs carried out, and readily explored upon it despite the possible dangers to his health. After several weeks of intense study, Josef finally developed a form of alchemy that could fully utilize his unique condition. He based his research upon Eastern Alchemy and philosophy, comparing the flow of Qi and its relation to the body and internal structures. After a bit of experimentation with eastern alchemy, Josef designed a way to draw the excess "Qi" in his body to a given point using transmutation, and then transfer it to another organism via touch. This also worked on electronic devices, as a few accidents that involved shorting out the tv and the library's computer led him to beleive so. Using rats and himself as test subjects, Josef studied the effects of the tranfer of bodily electricity from one living thing to another. He learned that he could disrupt the "flow" of anothers body by pusing his excess energy into their own. He could effect the nerves, brain, muscles and other organs. However, Josef began to fear the true extent of his own powers, as he quickly learned that he could pass death upon any living being after a paralysis experiment led to a rat experiencing cardiac arrest. Josef thought that this alchemy could lead to major breakthroughs in medical science, but it also held the potential to kill anyone with a simple touch. For the sake of research, Josef continued to explore the humane aspects of this alchemy while trying to keep his distance from the fact that it would make an effective weapon.
However, this new genre of alchemy and new field of knowledge to explore came at a price. The function that his liver carried out required a large amount of energy, and could hardly regulate itself enough to prevent itself from draining all his energy. In short, in order to keep from collapsing, Josef now required a calorie intake over three times greater than an average adult man. This wouldn’t be such a big deal if Josef was already barely able to feed himself to begin with.
After only two weeks of being in this condition, Josef Draper found himself lying on the side of a street in a Drachman city, with a dime to his name, only the clothes on his back and the books in his bag, and on the brink of starvation, weakly smiling to the people passing by.

ALCHEMIC ABILITY:
→ Josef’s specialty in alchemy is electricity and his unique sub genre of this form of alchemy, is using electricity generated by the body, which is more suited towards himself because of his peculiar condition.
电 流 diàn liú - Xingese (Chinese) - literally meaning flowing electricity, or electric current, this is the name Josef decided to give to his alchemy, after the philosophy that helped shape his unique alchemic ability.
The principle of diàn liú Alchemy is the energy of the body, in this case the electricity generated within Josef's body, and its flow and transition. The energy resonates at the source (the liver) and travels through the body in flowing balance like water. It can be drawn through the limbs or through the organs, but the balance must remain for a slight mistake could be lethal (ex. pulling a large concentration of this energy through the heart or brain.)
On top of being able to control the flow of energy within his body, through direct touch, the energy can flow into another person's body in a sudden surge, like a wave crashing into another body of water.
In a more scientific view, the surges of electricity drawn to a certain point in the body (The hands being the most versatile point of concenration), via alchemy are tranferred to a less concentrated area to balance out in a similar fashion to how water behaves. If alchemy prevents the excess electricity from flowing back to the rest of the user's body, its only option would to flow into the body of another individual, something that is possible if the user is touching someone, or even very close to someone. The effect of the surge of energy entering the other's body however, can be quite dangerous. Effects vary depending on the point of entry. If the POI is a limb or muscle mass, then paralysis is the most likely effect, and is likely to be preceded by intense pain due to the electricity stimulation of nerve ending. Other effect could include muscle spasms or convulsion, and a long term effect might even include near pernament paralysis or numbness depending on the amount of energy involved and the exact POI. Even more dangerous however, is the effect on organs it can cause. A strike to the lungs could cause respitory failure, and strike to the heart could invoke cardiac arrest. A flow of energy directed towards the brain however could bring about various complications from mild to lethal intensity. Effect may include intense nerve stimulation, absolute paralysis, memory loss, seizures, or even immediate death.
Though it is a deadly and effective form of alchemy, it is limited by its range and requirement for direct contact. Tranfer of energy through thin fabrics is still possible if they are not insulative, but it would prove useless if someone were wearing thick layers of clothing, or were covered in any insulative material.
Josef combines this alchemy with flow and strike type eastern martial arts to utilize the full potential of this alchemy by improving his own ability to aim and strike vital points with little force and liquid like flowing techniques.
Because of the nature, philosophies and overall form of alchemy used, this is considered a form of eastern alchemy.

TRIVIA:
→ Joseph can speak fluent Cretarian, Drachman, Amestrian, and near fluent Auregese. His Xingese is still improving as he needs it greatly at the moment to read Xingese script and his Ishvallan vocabulary consists of less than 100 words.

DAMN you are awesome ;D Way to take our suggestions and make it amazing~~ ^__^
Thanks for working so hard on it.
Also, you have to change your user name to your character's name. In this case, it'd be Josef, Josef Draper, or Draper. I just made it Josef Draper for now.
Oh, and I'm guessing you're in the military since you mentioned that you wouldn't mind working at Central with Spade?? Let me know and I'll change it. If so, post here: https://mdalchemist.rpg-board.net/classifieds-f15/central-command-recruit-t400.htm
Or if you don't want to be under Spade, post here: https://mdalchemist.rpg-board.net/classifieds-f15/military-placement-t391.htm
Or if you don't want to be in the military ignore this and let me know by PM! <3
