You Say You Want a Revolution
You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
Hans allowed a small, bitter smile to cross his lips. How especially quaint. A song about revolution had come across his radio, on this night in particular. He sat in his private office at his home, a squat glass half-full of scotch on the desk before him. Night had fallen, dinner a few hours ago. Brigitte had left for the night at his request. A weekend spa was her destination and at this point, he suspected she was enjoying a mud bath. Which was good. She deserved it. Hans was, therefore, home alone. Although that wasn't quite right. Security was down at the gate, per usual, as well as one or two gentlemen up at the house. He was having visitors, after all.
You tell me that it's evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
This was an example of evolution. Iris Tsukino, a bright Briggs soldier who was fortunate to not be at the captured base, had approached him a week or two ago. Someone within Briggs had approached HER while she was on a personal trip up north, expressing a desire to take down RIOTE. To reclaim Fort Briggs. Needless to say, the Chancellor had been interested. RIOTE had been sitting on Briggs and frankly, the Amestrian military did not have the people to spare for an assault. Briggs was a fortress for a reason and Hans had no desire to destroy the building just to get it back.
But when you talk about destruction
Don't you know that you can count me out
The smile crossed Hans' lips again. An inside job, however, was a kind of destruction he could work with. He had instructed Iris to get this person into Central City and it was their arrival he now anxiously awaited. He was surprisingly casual for this meeting, but it was May in Central, after all. He had cacky pants on and house slippers on his feet. His green button down shirt was rolled up to his elbows, the top two buttons undone. He wasn't entirely concerned about looking professional, because he didn't want to alert anyone to the motives behind this. This mission was being held very close to Hans' chest. Iris was the only other Amestrian militant to know about it at this point.
Don't you know it's gonna be all right
All right, all right
Hans picked up the glass of scotch, taking a large sip. As he set the glass back down, the smile on his lips finally broke into a fierce grin. Yes. Everything was going to be all right.

Re: You Say You Want a Revolution
To say she was excited was an understatement. In fact, Iris had never felt so full of life as she did that day. She practically felt like a school girl as she woke up and checked her alarm clock. Time wasn't going by fast enough. Internally she felt like she would explode from the waves of exuberance that poured from her heart. Fort Briggs... her home.. it might be within grasping distance! She was so giddy, she didn't bother eating the cake that she'd made for Taras. Of course he was a bit clueless as to why she had made a cake anyways, but Iris couldn't help but notice when she turned back to look at him, the piece was gone. It was.. well kind of cute and made her laugh. There was definitely something about Taras that made Iris amused in the lighter sense of the word. Not as if he were some sort of joke to her, but rather that he was something real and strange to her.. yet not so strange at the same time.
The day had been spent forcing Taras to look at the sights of Central city, because that was more interesting than making him sit at the train station all day. However in the process, Iris managed to collect another two parking tickets and several angry glances from the officers around her. SO she couldn't drive the greatest? Oh well! What did they care? It wasn't like she had ran anyone over.. yet. Taras obviously didn't mind, because he remained expressionless throughout the whole feat. Then again that was his every expression, so what the hell did she know?
Anyways, eventually nighttime fell and the moment was encroaching. Her heart was aflutter like a woman in love. Taras in tow, she set her feet on the new destination. She was meeting Hans, the Chancellor, in a serious meeting. She wondered if anyone else as young as her had done something so extreme in years. She couldn't take the credit though, she was just a supporting role in this. One soldier alone could never take down Fort Briggs, but Taras.. perhaps he had a plan? Either way, he was what gave her a kick and led her to the path she loved the most. Her home was at her fingertips.
Home... it felt weird buzzing in her head. The word that had once effortlessly left was now a stranger to her.
At last, they came to Hans office, (Naturally, escorted). Once within the bowels of his office, Iris saluted. Her heart hammered angrily in her chest. Enthralled, she smiled genuinely at him. This was weird, no sarcasm, no malice. Iris was sincerely pleased. "Sir! Thank you for having us." Manners: Iris made sure to honor them.
