DESCRIPTION:
→ Light blonde hair, grey eyes, and a stutter that could infuriate the calmest of men, Wynter Geist had to of been born under the wrong sign, at the wrong time. A constant slouch added to his near feeble appearance, and no one would ever believe this kid was military. Not that he planned it that way, that's how he always looked. When talking, the boy will usually use hand gestures to elaborate, even going as far as to use them over words. Along with this, he has a tendency to forget dress code, wearing clothing much too big for him like hoodies with no undershirt and baggy jeans. Shoes are also among the list of things he forgets to wear, giving him the appearance of someone much less wealthy than he actually is. When actually wearing his military uniform, Wynter appears very stiff, not used to being adorned in suits and the like. His movement matches this, taking shorter steps and fidgeting as if wanting to escape his skin.

PERSONALITY:
→ Though Wynter may be the shiest of young men, he does have a brilliant mind for alchemy, constantly observing what's going on around him from the time he wakes up to the few moments he has lying in bed before sleep. At most times he shies away from conversation, unless it's with someone of higher rank than himself. In those situations, he is all ears, even attempting to speak fluidly in return.

His introverted behavior does get him in trouble at times, but the kid has a way of bouncing back into the favor of his fellow militants, doing nice things for them when they'd least expect it or volunteering to perform menial tasks that he'd consider below them. This doesn't necessarily help him with his own placement in rank, but his main concern is his alchemy study. The more time he can assure he'll have doing research, the better a mood Wynter will be in. Of course, when no time is put into this need of his, the boy becomes more sluggish, almost depressed.

Being that he was raised by his mother, he can act odd at times, his word placement seeming a bit strange. This is due to the fact that the woman is originally from Xing, his father, also an alchemist, moving her to Amestris after their child's birth. Since his father's death, he speaks to her almost entirely in Xingese. Truly, his mother is the only person he openly cares for in such a way as to call them family, she's even the only person he really listens to. While he does show respect to most people, his mother comes first to him, always, and everything he does is to make her happy. Something the woman uses to her advantage, her being the reason he joined the military and studies alchemy to begin with.

HISTORY:
→ At a young age, Wynter and his brother studied under an Alchemist named Nicholas Barabbas Geist. The man was strict in his teachings, even though he gave the children half the day to play and do things of their own accord. When the clock chimed 5 PM, however, they were to report to their father's study to receive the day's lectures and work load. Wynter's half-brother, Saul, was the most gifted of the two when it came to their studies, designing his first transmutation circle at the age of ten. Though slightly slower than his prodigy of a sibling, Wynter was never far behind, studying the construction and deconstruction of glass with alchemy.

One day Nicholas asked the elder brother to stay home from school, something which Wynter was jealous of. Later, the boy was relieved he hadn't been the one chosen to undertake the "special day of training," as it was called. When he arrived back home, his brother and father were gone, the only person remaining there being Wynter's mother, Huan. She told him that the two had disappeared when she had gone out to the market to purchase the things needed for that night's meal, but the reason for this leave was known only by the younger of Nicholas' sons. He had heard his father muttering something of chimerae in his study over the course of several days. Wynter knew, but he never spoke a word of this to a soul. And this began his spiral into his current status as an introvert.

Growing up without his father and brother, Wynter slowly became more and more drawn away from society, eventually having to be home schooled by his mother. The teen simply refused to leave home unless he was told to do so by the woman. After perfecting his glass alchemy, he presented his findings to Huan, who immediately suggested submitting his work for analysis by the military. Not one to say no to his mother, Wynter did so immediately.

Now having his alchemy work funded by the government, State Alchemist-wannabe Wynter Geist spends most of his time in his stationed position at Central HQ. He makes sure to return home for a visit once weekly, not wishing to spend too long a time away from his mother. He even goes as far as to relinquish nearly half of his pay to her for support. While in Central, he tends to stay in his own quarters until he is called when needed. Much of his work load involves paperwork and presentation of all his findings, though at times he is asked to go out on the field, whether it be assisting officials above him or sent to help track criminals.

→ Technically, Wynter would be considered to suffer from some form of autism, but this has long been proven to be a traumatic disorder brought on by the disappearance of his father and half-brother.
