DESCRIPTION:
→ Chen has always been a charming, handsome man. His build is very masculine, incredibly broad shoulders and heavily defined collarbone. His jawline is very acute, leading to a flat chin. He has incredibly silky, short, messed chocolate hair that lies atop his eyebrows, the top of his neck, and around his ears. His nose is slender and on them lie a pair of black, square framed glasses. Behind these windows are hazel eyes, kind and analyzing. His skin is of a light shade, wrapping tightly to his lightly defined muscles. He's got slender waistline and larger pectorals, giving him that "Superman" look. Chen walks in quick, agitated steps and keeps his movements quick and calculated. He moves as if he's already planned his route and any possible outcomes. His eyes dart around, observing. Calculating. Even the angle of his almost permanent smile seems to be measured. Every curve, every curl, every step, every look...everything about him gives of the feel of calculation. Of analyzation. Of computation.

Chen doesn't have that varied of a clothes set. He's often seen with dark shirts and pants, mostly navy blue and black. He wears Cerisian leather shoes most of the time, unless he wants to calm himself down from the workshop, when he goes barefoot. He's at all time draped in an incredibly large lab coat. It has two side pocket and a breast pocket located on his left pectoral. It holds three items: A pen, a sort of metal tube with a red button, and his “one smoke”. He has packs stored away, but he limits himself to them as an emergency, like when he gets pissed enough to release Voltron on a Xingese city (which he could totally do, btw). His body is rarely rag-tag, as he keeps himself “healthy” enough to continue his work. Sometimes he can be seen with a stark, chocolatey five o' clock shadow, which is usually accompanied by dark circled eyes, blank expression, and cigarette smoke. This is the “not happy” Chen. But when Chen is happy and finds days for himself, he decides to get fancy since he's in his coat all the time, springing for a collared shirt/vest/tie combination with black slacks (and his leather shoes).

...........................................................................

PERSONALITY:
→ Chen has always been smart. He's not only smart, he has photographic memory, which makes him, quite literally, a textbook. He can recite anything he's read or seen to a tee. With this, he is (obviously) smarter than other normal people (except Spade and his cheating psychicness). Though, unlike most geniuses, he doesn't lord this over regular citizens. Mainly cause he doesn't talk with people much. Back when he was a basketball man, he was very social and very likeable. He loved talking (mostly flirting however) with people and never liked to be alone for long. Yet, once he became the man in the coat, he probably did a complete 180 from this. He became an isolated shut in with a focus on his work. He is, in all meaning of the word, a workaholic and gets so much enjoyment from his job, he barely does anything but. As a robotics and technological expert, he is a man who deals in exacts and experimentation, data collection and implementation. This carries over into dealing with the world outside the wires, watching, gathering, experimenting. Like machines, Chen will prod, poke, agitate, and introduce new scenarios to see how people tick. He works on his own most of the time and it is the only deterrent to socialization.

Speaking of work, it seems his work hates him. Many times when he works on new robots or devices, they often malfunction or explode on the first several trials. This ends in severe pain for him, but it never gets him down. In fact, it drives him further to complete and accomplish these new designs. But there is only so much a man can take before he snaps. When Chen snaps, it's often a lot of gusto: throwing blueprints, wrecking things, so on so forth. His computative nature breaks for a small window of destructive force but this window is patched very quickly. He takes a smoke, goes to a bar, hits on a woman, and he's back to work the next day.

Speaking of women, Chen's ability to keep relationships is...sub-par at best, so he's stopped trying. This ties in to his obsession with work; he barely has time to himself, let alone sacrificing it to friends or, god forbid, a significant other. This doesn't necessarily mean he AVOIDS relationships; he loves women being around, but his work just prevents it.

All-in-all, Chen is driven, calculating, and a loner. But, there's a aspect that's yet to be touched. One that is overlooked. His capacity of kindness and patience. He doesn't hesitate to help, no matter how long it takes or what it takes to help. This is an homage to his mother, who was a generous benefactor to the poor in Xing. He keeps her memory alive by following this aspect.

LOVE:
→ Machines, alcohol, cigarettes, his lab coat, free days to work on his new designs

HATE:
→ Having to stop his personal research, being interrupted in his work, having designs blow up one time too many, cleaning up his messes (which is rarely ever done), business meetings

DEEPEST SECRET:
→ In his bouts of depression or sadness, Chen constructs music boxes. They're very grand, elaborate, made from precious metals and fine wood, like music playing jewelry boxes. They often play requiems when finished. He stockpiles these in his special closet and each is different in their own way, either in music or contents or style. Each is carved with a date of construction and hold a small item that relates to the situation that triggered the box's construction.

HISTORY:
→ Chen Juun was born into one of the most prominent families of Báiyángzuò or anywhere in Xing. His father, Wei Juun, was the CEO of Juun Electronics and his mother, a Cerisian wine tycoon with Cretan blood had married into the Juun family. Chen was raised among the most luxurious accommodations by his mother (his father rarely had time to himself) and enjoyed exploring the vast Juun estate, from the stables to the watchtower study at the top of the mansion. His mother ran her business out of the home, having installed a vast vineyard and winery on the property. Chen and his mother would spend hours playing “hide and seek” in the vineyard. Chen would always win, he knew the best way to hide from her. He hid so well in fact, Chen's mother had to send the house staff on a hour search of the vineyard. They found him laughing hysterically inside a wooden crate among grapes inside the silo. Once they made it back to the foyer of the estate, his mother accosted him. She had worried about him so much; she didn't know what had happened to him. Chen didn't flinch nor did he cry. He simply retorted with “It's your fault, Mama, you need to get better at seeking!” after which he laughed and laughed. His mother was laughing with him. It was just the effect Chen had on people, he was...infectious.

Chen stayed at home mostly unsupervised, which allowed him an incredible amount of free time. He became very interested with building and destroying, having found himself inside the television trying to figure out how it worked. He acquired the maintenance man's tools and took apart many devices: his toys, phones, vacuums, anything that was electronic. His father's genes began to shine through, besides the physical ones. His mother had to put a stop to the mountains of spare parts, but she wanted for him to explore this interest. So, she placed a rule above little Chen's bed: “Take nothing apart you can't put back together.” At this stage, Chen began to exhibit signs of excellence in mind, having no issue now to put things back together. After his mother discovered this, they took him to a psychologist and diagnosed Chen with photographic memory. This would become his trump card in his schooling years.

He excelled in school both socially and academically. He was top in his Language and Math class during primary school and he was the kid everyone wanted to play with on the playground. There wasn't an enemy he tried to make nor would he acknowledge people who tried to make him an enemy. He was raised better. He could play and play for hours on the basketball court, trying to pull off the fantastical moves of the pros on television with no avail. But he stuck with it and once he was in middle school, it didn't take much convincing to his mother to get him the right equipment and soon he was playing basketball. He practiced an hour later than everyone. He would perfect his shots, his dodges, his sets. He stuck with it and played with every muscle in his games. Though, his face didn't have much of a smile. Because in the first row, where his mother sat, there was no father. Wei, for the duration of his middle school career in basketball and for most of Chen's young life, was not presence. If it weren't for his portrait in the dining room and the occasional phone call, Chen could have thought he had no father. He certainly felt like it.

His mother so far had done an excellent job raising Chen on her own, but this would come to an end. During his last year of middle school, Chen's mother was caught having an affair with the stable hand by a private investigator. Of course, hired by Wei. Wei was furious, but relieved. He had found divorce papers prior to the incident. With this evidence, Wei made an incredible case in court and not only gained custody of Chen, but most of Chen's mother's assets, besides the wine company. Chen went into an almost catatonic state after the verdict. He knew this couldn't be done legally. It wasn't, as Chen would find out, Wei had fixed the hearing from the start. His mother had no chance, fair or otherwise. He locked himself in his room for two days. Armed with his first set of tools, he constructed the anniversary present he was going to deliver two weeks from then. A music box. He put his sole picture of Mother inside and tucked it away. Her smile, her laugh, her kindness...he'd never see it again. Not with the restraining order in place.

Under Chen's care, he never stayed at the mansion. Wei immediately deported Chen to Aerugo, to a private school. “They're like you, Chen. Rich. Prominent. We must make a place there. We must place power.” Little did he know that would be the last words he heard from him. So, he had an arranged flight in a first class cabin to the family's summer home. From there, he made the commute in the Juun limousine to Naruo Academy: Private School to the few wealthy enough, well-known enough, or (in rare cases) intelligent enough. In Chen's case, he was all three. He excelled far above his classmates in every subject, just like last time, but he couldn't do basketball anymore. He didn't have the heart for it; it reminded him too much of his mother. This school had clubs of all sorts to supply the, in Chen's terms, “rich, spoiled bastard's” needs. There was really no point in having them, they took up at least an hour of actual school time, but it wasn't just a school, it was a business. Businesses need to keep their customers happy, so it wasn't surprising. But with all the music clubs, sports clubs, god forbid host clubs, he couldn't find anything to interest him. He needed to work, to get away from reality for a bit. Get lost somewhere. His mind flashed to a memory of himself inside the TV. His vision was completely blocked with wires. Then another memory, a vague one appeared. It was an old episode of Gundam. He remembered the colors, the splendor, the pure amazingness of that show. But more specifically, the mechs. He put in a proposition for a robotics club and lo', did it appear. He was its single member.
This spawned his truly calculating self, spending hours on his own projects and others, making money to fund himself on the side in case Father was feeling particularly stingy. He went through hours of research which never left him (thank god for mental mutations) and collected data that floated in his brain. He became the robotics nerd now, spending what time he could on it. He realized...this is what he shall do when he takes over the company. Succession was inevitable, but he always wanted to steer the company in a new direction. Robotics was where it was to go. But he needed an edge. He needed to be able to put more work into the same amount of hours. He needed the equivalence of a sugar high that was injected with pure adrenaline. He needed extra thinking space. Alkahestry, he thought. He could do that. With only 3 weeks of research, he had already created his Overload Alkahestry. Within a month, he would perfect it, but the mentally draining side effects were ever present. After a stint of using it, he would pass out from “mental overload”. Usually for days. One day, he finallly discovered how to have the weight distribution system be possible AND operational on a massive robot. This discovery was achieved by a 20 hour, non stop, alkahestry enhanced, study session. Followed promptly by a 2 month coma. Once he woke up, he looked around, saw that no one was there, and went directly home to his research.

Through college, this continued. No time to party, for girlfriends, none of it. He was completely focused on his discoveries and inventions. It was calculations, collection, experimentation. He passed every exam with no need to study, but the real challenges came after school. Then, one night, after a disastrous experiment, Chen sat down and thought on something he never had before. Why was he doing this? What made him give up on basketball for a life of metal, wires, and artificial intelligence?...Then it struck him. Every one of his basketball games had been bathed in disappointment. His father was involved. But not building. Not machines. Wei had no part in that. His mother influenced Chen far more. But was it for him, or was it for Mom, he wondered. He took a draw from a cigarette he had held between his fingers, blowing smoke out of his nostrils. Then he went to his closet. Music boxes were stacked there, of all shapes and sizes. He nodded for a moment. “It's for me,”he said, “it makes me happy.”

From there, he finished his schooling and, upon his return, was hit with a tidal wave of news. His father had died three years prior to his graduation. No one had informed him. The acting CEO was running the company into the ground. No one had informed him. He acted quickly to fix the latter. With only a swift acquirement of the company, Chen shifted the company's focus to robotics. Over the next seven years, he hammered his name in with his machines and incredible speed of success. While much of the company's money is made on electronic goods, Chen still pushes through. The spread of his success reached the rest of the clan. He hadn't known how or why, but he was chosen over every other candidate for the position of Clan Head. With this new tie into the military, Chen's focus was modified. Militarize them, he thought. That's what they want. Besides his father, Chen was never known to disappoint. These men were not his father.
