Mayako's Search

Mayako Merci yawned, her brown hair falling down the side of her face. She was deathly bored. There was simply nothing going on, and that meant that Mayako had nothing to do. Hell, she hadn't heard from Labelisa lately, either. She sighed, and took her place on a park bench, carefully watching the other people of Central moving around, doing what they had to. They had such carefree lives, they really did. She sighed again. She wasn't even that far throughout her search for some idea of her father - he had just disappeared on her... Not that she was surprised, he was most likely dead.

But with a smile on her face, Mayako Merci stood back up, and began to move towards a building in the distance - a library. She smiled softly, and made her way up, and into the large building. Adjusting the large round glasses that covered her face, she walked through the shelves that lined the walls, searching for something interesting to read. When she found it, she moved to a chair, crossed her legs, opened the book, and began to read...

Bella started to choose a book at the library. Bella then noticed Mayako and sat down next to her. Bella smiled at Mayako. "Hi,my name is Bella Delrossi! What's yours?" Bella felt a little bit stupid but happy. She was scared Mayako wouldn't like her. Bella looked down at her book, afraid of what Mayako would think of her. Bella wanted to run and cower in a small corner but it was to late to back down. Bella just has to hope Mayako will accept her as a friend. Bella then looked close in Mayako's eyes. It looked like she was thinking of something, rather than reading the open book in Mayako's hands. "Hmm...? What's wrong?" Bella felt as if she asked the wrong question. Maybe she was just daydreaming. No she couldn't she is even looking like something was wrong. If only Bella could read minds. What would it feel like. Bella waited patientally for Mayako's response.

Mayako looked up and smiled. A young girl, huh?

"Oh, nothing, nothing. Just thinking, that's all... And I'm Mayako. Mayako Merci." She said, turning back to her book and reading through the last couple of pages. She smiled, sighed, and put the book back on the shelf. It was a good book, that was for sure. She then looked back up at the girl, legs crossed.

"And how are you today?" She asked, as sweetly as she could. The girl seemed innocent enough, and that was all that Mayako needed. She smirked, was she Amestrian? She wouldn't be in the military, so she didn't need to be suspicious now, did she?

"Father..." She sighed again, and leaned back in her chair.

Bella then said " Oh ok and good and you?" Bella was wondering if the girl was an alchemist she didn't look like one but as they say looks don't mean anything. Bella then grabbed a book from the shelf and started to read. Bella was upset that Mayako would not tell Bella what she was thinking aboutbut assumed she was day dreaming about her family like Bella does each night. During that thought Bella shuddered but looked at Mayako and smiled. Bella finished the book and put it back on the shelf.It was about a boy and a girl who don't know each other becoming boyfriend and girlfriend. If that was real life it would end with a break up. Bella picked up another book. Unlike the other one this was about a couple of women mating and getting married. It was weird but comforting to Bella. Maybe her girlfriend will be romantic someday.

Jay walked into the library and waved slightly towards Bella and Mayako. She walked to the aisles and looked over the books. She settled on a fantasy novel and happily sat down at the table, in front of Mayako. She waved again. "Hello, my name's Jay. What's up, Bella?" She smiled before she began to read. She was enjoying her time here, and she hoped that she could stay here for a while. She thought Mayako seemed pretty nice, like someone Jay would hang out with. But appearances lie, so she would have to wait it out and see if she had met someone she would be friends with or not. She read the book for a while until she got bored. Then she set the book down on the table and began to just chill out and relax. She looked around boredly at the books. She had read a few from here, and came here often when she was around Central. She shifted her eyes to Bella. The two had been friends since she was 9. The two were almost inseperable when they found each other again. She then turned to Mayako again. She wondered what she was thinking...

Mayako smiled and yawned. The two girls seemed to be quite nice and friendly, people she'd enjoy the company of. The one who introduced herself as Bella seemed to be quite young, but the other girl... now she was pretty cute. She pulled another book off of the shelf, and smiled as she read it. It was a good read, but quite boring at times. She looked up at Jay.

"And aren't you the cute one, ne?" She said, an innocent smile on her face. She wasn't lying, the girl was pretty cute, if a little flat-chested. She smirked, and turned back to her book, waiting for a reaction from the other. She really didn't mind, she had her label-chan, unless the girl had gone, which was unlikely.

"Heh... Where are you, Labelisa. I really wanna know..." She sighed, and finished the book, putting it back on the shelf and pulling out another one. She had found herself an interesting section of the library, that was for sure...

Jay sat boredly and at Mayako's coomment, she grinned slightly. "You think?" She was really teasing Mayako. She found it amusing when people thought she was cute, and it always proved interesting. She probably wouldn't mention Lexi, of course, since that might spoil the fun of it. Though she probably wouldn't be doing anything anyways. It would probably be just chatting for a while, until she got bored of it. She looked over at Bella again, then back at Mayako. "So, do you two know each other or are we all just strangers or something? Besides me and Bella." She nodded in Bella's direction. She figured Bella just met Mayako like she did. A sly grin suddenly hit her face. "And, what do you think of Bella, Mayako?" Maybe Bella could get a girlfriend out of Mayako...

Mayako blinked when Jay asked her what she thought of Bella, looking the younger girl of the two over. She seemed like she hadn't even reached High School yet, why would Mayako want to... she sighed.

"Jay, Bella is... cute. But I think she might be a little too young for my tastes... I am 21, you know..." She sighed, and kept flicking through the pages of her book. Funny - how did jay work out that she was gay so quickly? Maybe she just gave off a vibe like that... She sighed again, and laughed softly, finishing the last few pages of the book. She'd gone through quite a few books at the moment, something was wrong. She smirked, and picked another one off the shelf - a romance. As she began to read through it, she blushed a deep red. It was one of those romance books, huh? She sighed, she was going to have to finish it.

"And... what reasons do you have to want to ask me that question, ne?" She asked, with a slightly mischevious grin to her face.

Jay smirked lightly and laughed. "Oh no reason.~ You just looked younger, 'sall. I figured you were about right for Bellsy." She smiled as she finished her book. She was a pretty quick reader. She noticed Mayako's blush and chuckled a bit as she reached towards the shelf, grabbing a book of funny stories. She laughed as she read the first one. She really wasn't tooo into the book though, since she wanted to see what Mayako would say or what bella would say next. Hehe, teasing people was funny...
