Nothing To Do Today.
"Another slow day, as usual. Geez, don't people read these days?" Peyton muttered to herself as she was organizing books.
It was indeed a slow day, the library was like a ghost town. The only sound that could be heard was the sound of Peyton stacking books. Sometimes she hated how monotonous and boring the job of a librarian could be. But it had its perks. She got access to all the books she wanted, she could usually take breaks whenever she wanted when no one was around, and the pay was okay.
Another perk was naps, she planned to have one pretty soon. Once she was done organizing all the darned book shelves. Peyton sighed heavily, stacking book after book. She wished people would at least put the books on the correct shelves instead of leaving them everywhere! It made her job ten times harder.
"Damn when is my lunch break?" She asked herself as her stomach made a low growling noise. She had skipped breakfast because she overslept. So Peyton was pretty hungry.
She ran a small and slender hand through her fiery locks with a heavy sigh. Lately she felt as if she was getting nowhere in terms of being able to go to college. Or her research. Or getting a boyfriend. She groaned a bit as she lightly tapped her forehead against the wooden bookshelf. When was her life going to get better like everyone had said?
