DESCRIPTION:
→ Not exactly tall, Sayuri stands at a seemingly-unimposing 5'4" (163cm) with a relatively slender body shape to go with it. That said, she's not quite in proportion to her height, somewhat-large breasts sitting outwards on her chest and seeming to disturb the otherwise perfectly-aerodynamic body of the woman. The pale flesh of her face is framed by strands of long brown hair, reaching down to the small of her back and ending there. Upon her face is a pair of bright blue eyes, curiously looking at everything within its reaches and moving constantly.
Normally, when in general day-to-day clothing, one will see Sayuri wearing long brown pants with a pale blue turtleneck jumper. This is, of course, when she's just casually sitting around (which is rare). If she is outside and not heading towards combat, she wears a red dress, with a brown, long-sleeved undershirt and stockings with boots. Finally, when in her fighting moniker, she changes her style completely. Her skirt and stockings are replaced with a pair of rather form-fitting jeans (somewhat ripped), tied off with a brown belt. Her shirt over top is white and sleeveless, with two tails hanging out of the back and a zip down the centre.

PERSONALITY:
→ This girl is two-faced, you see. She's a bitch, a lover, a child, a mother. A sinner, a saint. She fights, and yet she also cares--it's a strange series of unfortunate events that bring out both the best and the worst in her. She's a little bit of everything, and she changes her public face when she sees fit, especially depending on her company at the time. There are those that cause her to smile and those who cause her to frown, and either group of people can be a large part of her life at the time. Because of this, she takes everything that she gets in her stride, and aims to make every day a proper and true part of her life. She can be so optimistic, that she sometimes fails to see the sadness that exists in life, and can often be quite rude and ignorant of other peoples' suffering--this is never on purpose, just through ignorance. If she discovers that she's been ignorant at the time, she is quick to apologize and attempt to take responsibility for her actions.
Quick to take up the mantle of judge, jury and executioner, Sayuri is often quite quick to take a side, especially if she's fed a relatively nice sob story to really get her going. She rarely stops to listen to the other side of the story, instead easily taking what she's told at face value--she is, however, a sceptic for the widely-believed 'truth', not easily believing stories that don't seem to be truthful at 'face value'. Easily annoyed by people who try to proclaim some kind of great truth the world, Sayuri is a self-proclaimed atheist. However, she is unwilling to push her own way of thinking onto others--she will attempt to argue her own case, but she'll never blatantly tell someone that they're wrong.
Although she is how she is, there is always going to be a side of her that easily attempts to solve her problems with her fists. She bottles up a lot of her emotions, trying to keep this happy and kind shell around her, so there are lots of times when she needs to get rid of the angst and frustration that she's built up. For moments like this, she can often be seen beating the shit out of some poor defenceless pole. For other times, she uses the bi-weekly fight club meets. They're a great way to get rid of all of the angst and annoyance that she has for the world. She's not afraid to use dirty tactics in a fight, either--such as her Alchemy.
When it comes to romance, Sayuri is surprisingly an incurable romanticist. She likes sappy movies and love songs, yet will never tell other people that she does. She's undecided on her sexuality--finding both genders attractive in their own ways--however she's determined to settle on one eventually.
LOVE:
→ Fight Club, strawberry shortcake, black tea, sweets, warm evenings.
HATE:
→ Bigots, boredom, being ignored, bullies, idiots.
DEEPEST SECRET:
→ Fight Club, obviously

HISTORY:
→ At the top of the hill, on the outskirts of Edo, there is a western-styled mansion. In this mansion, there apparently live two women--both of them are witches. This was the rumor that had always been passed around through the area of Edo in which Sayuri lived--in fact, it was her mansion that they'd always talked about. Ever since she was two years old, she had lived there with an older cousin and her aunt. They'd gotten on relatively well--however, Sayuri's personality grew into something of a rebel through the years. Always going through school with fights and battles, rebelling against her teachers: although she was rather intelligent for her age, Sayuri could never seem to actually keep up with her schooling. Was it that she was bored, or was it something else? They didn't know. However, when asked, the six year old girl always proclaimed to her aunt: "I want to learn Alchemy!" Over and over again, she would proclaim this, until her aunt gave in.
Maybe it was because of getting what she wanted, but as soon as her aunt started to teach her and her cousin Alchemy, Sayuri's grades (especially in the sciences) began to improve. She started to pick fights less and less, and even listened to what her teachers had to say. Surprised by all of this, her aunt started to teach her Alchemy more--if thinking that doing that would allow her to surpass everything, becoming the perfect student. However, somewhere along the line, that rebellious mindset kicked in once more. Sayuri began developing her own breed of Alchemy. Rather than transmuting matter, she started to transmute energy. As if to spite everything she'd ever known or been taught, she applied this transmutation to her right arm. Getting it tattooed on in invisible ink to hide it, she prepared herself for such a time as she'd need to use it properly. The first time she used her Alchemy in this way she sent herself flying.
It's unknown if it was because of this, but around this time, if not a few years earlier, Sayuri had also started to take up a martial art--it was a simple form of Karate that emphasized strength and power, and she started to teach herself how to be properly stable. Maybe she already knew that she was going to need it, or maybe she only decided to apply Alchemy to combat because of this. Either way, however, it was still something of an issue for her--she needed more, yet this wasn't giving her everything that she needed. Although she was finally getting a chance to channel all of her feelings into her fists and feet, she couldn't actually take it out on anything. However, she would persist, keeping up her training in order to make sure she had fully understood everything that she needed to. As she developed her Alchemy, she started to integrate it into her martial arts, building up the perfect fighting style for her own way.
By the time she had turned 15, the aunt had died, leaving her and her cousin, Arisu Kuoniji, alone together. Unlike her aunt, Alice was slightly more strict and domineering, yet also couldn't really approach people other than Sayuri--being quite emotionally unstable. In order to care for her cousin without exploding and also keep herself happy, Sayuri needed to find another outlet. It came in the form of an underground fighting club. On her first night, she destroyed her opponent. Deciding that this was the right way to go, the girl started to attend every week, telling nobody, yet becoming one of the most well-known fighters within the club itself...
