Re: You need it? I got it.
She was beyond enthusiastic about books. A rare trait among children regardless of age or maturity. She watched as she acted out and then finally calm, she noticed something she wanted. So-Sul's eyes darted upward to the Alchemy book, so she already knew what she wanted. As expected. So-Sul took a step forward, but Hikari was already on the job. The effort she put forth was quite entertaining. So-sul could not contain her laughter as she finally got hold of the book she so desperately wanted. She was slightly miffed when the shopkeeper pointed out the ladder, to which So-sul waved her off. She approached Hikari and held out her hand still beaming from ear to ear. "I will buy that for you since you worked so hard for it, but I'll tell you a secret." So-sul bent down lower so that Hikari could hear her whisper. "You're not the only hacker in this room" So-sul straightened up.
She pointed to Hikari's bag. "The tablet I gave you has an interesting feature to retrieve data from my host network depending on your clearance level. In my network, I have hundreds of books on Alchemy that you can read at your leisure." Of course, So-sul had her own private network in which vital data was stored, but that was only because you can't trust thieves around damaging information. Especially since that was the nature of her business. After helping Hikari up, she moved to pay for the book Hikari liberated from the tyrannical bookshelf. "I'll set up your own account when I link up with Aiki, later. I suspect next is the Electronics store, no?"

Re: You need it? I got it.
NIN looked up with hungry eyes. She was practically drooling with how much books was probably in her tablet. Not only was she appreciating the tablet more and more, but her horizons were expanding by the kilometer by just being around this woman.
She knew more than the average person that intelligence is everything. With intelligence, she could have power. With power she could control the things she loves. Such as manga, toys, technology and stylish clothing based from anime characters.
As they walked to the cashier, Hikari was still a bit shell shocked with how much intelligence she was carrying around without knowing about it. All she could do was clutch that book and think....
Think of what she could do with alchemy and technology together....
Every alchemist had a name, a gimmick or a little thing they did that made them original. All she could think right now was Aiki. That android was 100% technology. What if Hikari shortened the passages and need for chips with alchemy?
No.
"I'll set up your own account when I link up with Aiki, later. I suspect next is the Electronics store, no?"
She needed to gain more intelligence before fiddling with solsul's friend. Her tiny fingers cracked open her tablet and began making a list of the pieces. " Yup! We can get a lot of chips and pieces in the back of the store for a whole lot less if we convince the manager."
She giggled as she turned to a piece on her new toy. " I remember the pizza man with twinkly eyes had a brother at that kind of store." She showed her new friend, who probably already knew all of this, being the tech wonder woman she was. The picture was a quick child's sketch of a board that looked as if it could go quite fast. " Is my math off?"
On the bottom part there was a small mathematical equation that coincided with the aerodynamics of the board itself. If this was off and she tested it, the best case scenario was that Hikari could go flying off the board and die by gravity.
In the back of her tiny mind she was wondering why she was taking such nice care of her, and if this would be the same result as the other woman who loved her. Though being the selfish child too, she didn't mind the treatment. It was better than being alone. When she was alone, she always ended up costing the taxpayers a lot of money.

Re: You need it? I got it.
" Yup! We can get a lot of chips and pieces in the back of the store for a whole lot less if we convince the manager." So-sul grew a tad more serious now. "Oh don't worry about that...he owes me quite a few favors." Her mood lightened quickly as they neared the store. " I remember the pizza man with twinkly eyes had a brother at that kind of store." "oh?" She showed her a picture once again...she had to get this girl a digital sketchpad. As much paper as she went through, she was surprised there were even any tree's left in the world. " Is my math off?" So-sul looked it over and blinked a few times. Everything was correct. That was not the mistake. She, however, did not take into account two factors air resistance of the passenger, and the passenger itself. Therefore, she would ultimately be spending approximately two months in a hospital and four months recovering from her injuries.
"Your math is correct, but you forgot the take into account the variables of the person riding it and the air resistance that passenger" So-sul smiled politely, and then opened the door to the store. She entered the store, and held the door open for Hikari. She immediately peered over the shelves looking for the tablets. She quickly found it and made her way over to one of them. She picked up a rather expensive model and frowned. "The processor in this is crap, and the graphics card is so basic it's nearly a fossil. The display is nice, but the circuitry isn't built to last more than three years...no doubt a desired design flaw to encourage upgrading to a later model, but even that will be garbage as well. I swear some people do not take pride in their work" So-sul whined some more about the poor craftsmanship, but it was easier to alter and improve than to build from scratch...at least in time. She picked it up, and brought it to Hikari. "What do you think about this? I can alter this to be lot lighter, while you'll be able to use a sketchpad for your designs. With the uplink, you won't have to worry about hard drive space, but we should definantly upgrade the RAM otherwise it won't be able to handle the new graphics cards. Speaking of which..."
She handed Hikari the Digital Tablet, and began to rummage through the graphics cards looking for one that wasn't so...ancient. Then again, her tech was military grade without all the red tape. So she was more advanced than most people thought was possible, hence the android she manufactured. She was starting to get an interest in Automail, but she didn't feel the need to investigate that area yet. She paused and looked at Hikari. "What do you think?"

Re: You need it? I got it.
Hikari imagined herself being destroyed on her own piece of equipment. No longer able to make anything for a few weeks... and placed the folder into editing stages, shivering at the thought. Having a second eye around would cause her to have a lot less of injuries.
As they walked into the electronics store she was amazed by how much technology they could pack into the whole place. What beautiful shiny cases. Which was all she could say considering that the insides were terrible. Apparently, Sosul agreed in the nick of time. As she rambled on she was watching a show called NCIS miami that was being played on a screen. They had a huge touch screen and a hologram diorama in this dark room. What wonderful fiction. Suddenly, she was pulled from her daydream and sosul directed her attention to the new version of the ipad tablet.

space, but we should definantly upgrade the RAM otherwise it won't be

Sosul yoinked out a RAM card and held it up to her. NIN looked back at the movie and to the tablet and the ram. " An uplink would be cool but if I use a small tablet for designs I won't be able to piece them together. In a lot of fun movies they show holograms that can be used, or wall tablets that are used for crime stuff." She pointed to the movie. As she did so she held onto the new tablet and turned it around. " We can change the back part to hold a direct link to a desk tablet that can hold with a separate storage unit for drive space and ram by hooking it to a home made processor. As the desk tablet uses memory, it stores it in the processor in a hollow wall. That way if anyone tries to destroy or steal work they think it's in the big tablet or in these minis that if we hook up like USB's - but with more complications - we can upload information at will by downloading pieces of information from the proccessor. Through the desk tablet. So even if this tiny one is destroyed, it will go back to encoding that should be in every hacker's Christmas list. "
She gasped for air. That was a lot to explain. " In short, it's like having a lot of televisions in multiple rooms... except only having one cable box. "
She looked for a reaction in the lady's face. Would she be shocked? Pleased? Would she be frowning if she got something wrong or would she simply laugh? It was hard to tell just yet.
Her idea would make the tablet lighter, easier to carry in places with high security ( because all you need is to place a manual bug in their system to upload information, with some other tasks involved also), with better ability to cover steps from anyone besides Sosul and Aiki. Though having a stationary one, even with the hollow wall trick would be slightly dangerous due to the energy it would need.

She was a bright young lady, however, she was still thinking on simple terms. Clearly, she was underestimating her capabilities. " In short, it's like having a lot of televisions in multiple rooms... except only having one cable box. " She smiled and placed a hand on Hikari's head. "Young woman, under my guidance you may yet surpass me in the technical arts, but today I shall teach you." She pointed to the small little Itouch. "On that small thing, I can access my entire database. All I need is to convert the wireless chip to one of my manufacturing degree. You see, any device can be hacked. Similar how you hacked my website. You linked into the network that housed my site, and then acquired the password through the hidden logs. How? Because it was written that 'this is the password' Now, imagine a system that can react 100 times faster than you can type an algorithm to crack the system. A system so adaptive that it would take your algorithm and use it to wipe your system completely blank. I'll have to introduce you to Aiki one of these days." She pointed to the drawing tablet again. "I merely wanted to get you a platform that was optimal for designing. The uplink will protect your information, likewise, the information you store is your own. My network only alerts me to information that is relevant to me...meaning a plan to harm or disrupt my life or business or information pertinent to my clients well being. So for now, or until we build you your own super computer, we'll stick you into my main network."
She was liking this young one more and more. She quickly called over one of the associates in the store and began picking out touch displays. Monitors, televisions, and built-in-one computers. She had them brought to the front, she figured these 'toys' would keep her entertained until she could do what she please. "You know...a company has been playing with a fictional idea of a transparent computer that is touch based...how would you like to try that out in your home?" She looked back at Hikari wondering where her mind was? She was beginning to wonder how this young lady really thought? Her Qi flickered brightly, so she was clearly happy...but surface emotions can only say so much behind what a person was thinking. So-Sul sighed softly, she need to figure out this Sapling thing as quickly as possible.

Re: You need it? I got it.
So much information was being poured into her tiny mind. She never thought as of why it was produced to hack. She did it as a copy from other hackers that she had looked up the process. This was the first time that she was given a loose crash course that she didn't have to stare at a screen from.
And she loved it.
She could think of different ways that adding the password could be something else. Not many people looked at the code before clicking on something. Plenty of ability to ensnare someone.
I'll have to introduce you to Aiki one of these days."
She already had, but that probably wasn't the point.
The point was that Aiki was a really good piece of technology that made life quite a bit easier than most. NIN was also in charge of teaching Aiki how to be more human.
"You know...a company has been playing with a
fictional idea of a transparent computer that is touch based...how would
you like to try that out in your home?"
NIN paused at this idea. She knew it would be hard to create one, but she thought it would be a little more simple than creating a super computer.
" We would need cameras from a wii, two large screens and 4 projectors that we can downsize. After that, you can place the downsized projectors to play half of the pixels while the other plays the other half through the led screens. Then you place one above and one below. After you hook them up as such, while adding the wii cameras. You take several receiver chips and place them over several points in your hands. That way you could play in the screen. Then you modify the main processor to divide each reactive point to each of the led screens. Having your hand as the mouse."
NIN motioned with her hands how it would be placed and commented that learning constelations would be a lot easier and 3D would no longer be a gimmick.
" I can change a few things like making the cameras more sensitive and giving it better speed. Or even making the glove more thin."
She looked up. Did she get it right this time or was she going to have another teaching lesson? She didn't mind the lessons, it was just nice seeing the happy face of an "A+" on Sosul.

So-sul smiled. Her innovations were remarkable, but child like in it's simplicity. No need to sharpshoot her as if she were a student. No, it was best to encourage her ingenuity to create things that others could not. Even if they were't scientifically possible...yet. So-Sul pointed at the stuff Hikari wanted. So-sul began to wonder about the applications of technology, if she could create a a smaller more portable unit it would eliminate the need to replace a tablet over and over again...yes.

So-sul smiled. "You are very bright. I fear your mind will one day surpass my own." So-Sul reached out and patted Hikari's head. "Shall we go shopping now, or would you prefer to return home?" So-sul didn't have anything special planned for the day, and even now her company was self-sufficient enough not to need her micro-managing every detail. She pulled out a plastic card, ad swiped it. She entered a PIN and held up her four fingers to the owner. He nodded and she turned back to Hikari. "So what will it be, Hikari-chan?"

Re: You need it? I got it.
She guessed that she got it right. Yes! Hikari looked at the materials that was bunched up in a pile in which was already being payed for. She then turned to the woman quickly, nearly seeing Naka. After refocusing her eyes... she realised they look quite similar. Both with solemn faces, black hair with an unimaginable length, and the top of their field. NIN guessed she still missed Naka.
NIN did....Hikari shouldn't.
After a second of pause the little snowball of a girl smiled and nodded. " I wanna go through a database to find grandpa." Hikari figured there would be one at the house. " Grandpa was the top Yakuza. When Waka went into hiding, so did grandpa. Do you know why?"
Searching for criminals, even if they were Yakuza was a tough job, and if they weren't careful it would be leaked to the police. Hikari had an idea that the reason why Waka left was because of the police becoming more powerful.
So far they had eaten together, shopped for clothing, and talked about technology. All very wonderful things to a child. Though what was the house like...?
