BRIEFING:
→ Origin is a weapon of ridiculous proportions, originally conceptualised by a great weapons developer of Cretan descent during the early planning of Project: Mariner in the late 1980s. The idea was to take a harpoon weapon, and not only shed all unnecessary mounts and clunky weight, but fit it with a reinforced body, tether, spearhead... everything. With no limitations due to using animated suits of armour, Origin was constructed sparing no expense.

Origin itself packs a single perforated harpoon, single-shot and loaded in, attached to a seventy-metre tether. It carries a huge amount of ballistic force and hydraulic stopping power, as well as a ridiculous amount of recoil, able to easily dent Mariner Twelve's armour through repetitive use. In return, Origin will slam through anything; the side of a car, a tank, a ship, a building; it was designed for exactly this purpose, and is functional in every manner - but the one shot you have has to count, because retracting the harpoon requires vigorous use of an attached hand crank.

The weapon itself is fitted as a gauntlet attachment, with the harpoon's head protruding over Mariner Twelve's left hand. It can be used single-handed, but it's advised that both are used to bolster the weapon when it's fired.

→ Prophecy is a heavily modified new concept of the M2 Browning, the M2-AA. Once more of Cretan descent, it's fitted with armour piercing .50 BMG rounds, and internal box magazines of 500 rounds which are inserted into a modified feed in the side of Mariner Twelve's left shoulder. It spools fast and heats up incredibly quickly, but has a decent amount of warm-up time, and much like its counterpart, Origin, is recommended to be fired with a second hand bolstering to absorb the recoil.

It's an incredibly powerful concept weapon that shears through steel and stone alike in a matter of moments, with its only drawback being the fact that it expends an entire box of ammunition in around a minute, possessing a lower firing rate than most other M2 variants. It's concealed within the arm itself, and actually collapses and compacts into itself when not in use - whilst 'engaged', the arm must be entirely rigid or straight, otherwise the firing system will backfire and cause Mariner Twelve a hell of a lot of damage.

→ Mars and Jupiter are twin hydrogen cell-fuelled rotating chainsaw blades which run efficiently enough to shear through flesh and bone indiscriminately with ease. With lightweight and wieldy frames, they present a close-combat contrast to most of Mariner Twelve's otherwise heavy weapons, able to be concealed in small mechanised hydraulic compartments at his legs which open and close from the push of a button. They can collapse, and the fuel injection system is triggered by a switch on the hilt of the blades. It takes around three seconds to properly get into the swing of the system.

Note that the hydrogen cells ARE shielded, but if the blades are thrown around and subjected to enough damage that they're broken, they'll detonate - with a rather incredible explosion. This was intended initially to be a failsafe, with a remote detonator attached to each of the weapons' cells, as to disable the Mariner unit if it went rogue, but Project: Mariner never really got to that stage with Mark XII...

→ Grenade launchers. Two of them, concealed within Mariner Twelve's shoulders, which he can control with ease. Revolver-action, six-shot barrel, using 40mm fragmentation or incendiary grenades. The tube barrels are the only part of the design which protrude forwards from the armour, though the grenade launchers themselves CAN be removed and operated separately.

Each has a very small amount of recoil with the ability to cut down enemies with ease, especially when scorched earth tactics are required. They can't be reloaded mid-combat, as the process is far too complex and generally requires the removal of the grenade launchers.

SPECIAL ABILITIES:

Overdrive (Mars and Jupiter) - By wearing out the hydrogen cells powering Mars and Jupiter EVEN faster, Mariner Twelve can shift the chainblades into overdrive, allowing them to double the speed of the chain rotation system, and effectively further increasing the weapons' potency, and his apparent danger.
