Funtimes, Funtimes
Ran was within the crazy world of Aerugo. Today he stood outside a flower shop with a bouquet of roses in one clenched hand. His mouth was pressed around a cigarette and slowly he inhaled. What an amazing taste. With a shiver of delight, he sighed out the smoke of minty scent and taste. the soft of his breath fell out and permeated the world with his used chemicals. How rude of him to pollute the air! It was done. As it disappeared, he slowly took another drag before giving sexy eyes to a woman across the street. Did he know her name? No, of course not, but Ran couldn't help but catch her eyes before she Ran off with a blush. Yes, the man knew how to make women swoon.. not really.
His top open to reveal a majority of his bare skin, the corner of his upper tattoo would color his tan-ish skin. How pleasant he felt; almost like a hunk. Well actually he was. Though Ran was also full of himself, but that was a separate and denied topic. For now he was waiting for his annoying little brother. That boy had always been special. Whether it was simply in the head, Ran had his personal opinion.
With swift movement, he allowed the door to open and in walked a young lass who stared at him a moment. Was she checking him out? Ran certainly thought so. With a playful wink, hard to see under the emo flip of his bangs, his eyes went back to the street. Of course that little brother was late as usual. The slit over his nose seemed to make him almost look intimidating.
Arms in sleeves, the man o almost thirty would heave a sigh and tap his foot once.. then twice. How annoying. His brother STILL wasn't here? How long had he been waiting? Ten minutes? TEN WHOLE MINUTES. He would scold his brother on wasting precious time for more important things. That little boy was so selfish! This was why Ran hated kids, even if Tas was an adult now. Ran couldn't accept the thought and still applied the word child with Tas' picture. The threads of black called his hair would quiver a bit in the air as Ran would sigh audibly again and curse under his breath. He should just leave.. but that would be rude. Then again... what did he care?

SNIIIIIIIIIFF. Mmmmhm!~ Tas knew he had smelled nice smelling things! Floating on air, apparently, in a figurative way of saying it, he drifted into a lovely breadstore. Why, may you ask? BECAUSE HE LIKED BREAD. So he bought oh, four loaves of honeyed bread, and a jar of peanut butter, for Ran. Ah, Ran. He didn't see him much, but Ran was his favorite brother! His ONLY brother, of course, but also his favorite!~ So he was getting some peanut butter, Ran's favorite food, and in his other hand, a basket of teriyaki chicken, freshly prepared. For if he was to meet with his big brother, he would go in STYLE!~
And as such, he made his way to their predesignated meeting place, carrying a large bundle of groceries with that big grin shining bright under his Elvis-y hair. "Hiya Ran!~ Look what I gotcha!" Beaming, he held up the basket, containing teriyaki and a jar of peanut butter- nearly getting mowed down by a car in the process. Smartly, he decided it was best to dash over to Ran INSTEAD of saying high from the middle of the road... So now next to his brother, he grinned and handed over the food, before opening a loaf of bread for himself to enjoy, taking bites instead of slicing it PROPERLY. After swallowing a bite, he cheerfully spoke up again. "So, wassup Ran?"

What was that sound? Honk! SCRREEEEECHHHH! Oh please tell me.. Ran turned his head and his eyes fell upon a boy running across the room and laughing, waving and generally being oblivious with hands full of food. ran just couldn't help but stare at his brother, dumbfounded and almost appalled. Why did he have the dumbest younger brother on earth? He had almost gotten hit by a car! Oh how mad Ran was and as Tas caught up, he smacked the boy on the head. "IDIOT!" His voice shouted, while he stared angrily at the younger brother before looking away. How upset he was. What if something had happened? Ran would have felt sa- Angry. After all, HE'D have to deal with their parents.
Of course, that's what he convinced himself anyways. He loved his brother but he would NEVER admit it of course. Taking the jar of peanut butter, Ran sighed and unscrewed it. "Well at least you remember my favorite foods, so I guess I can excuse your idiocy." Ran said, as usual being a bit of a jerk. It seemed with him though, Ran was a bit more gentle than usual. He wanted to be close to his brother, but that would show him to be sensitive. Ran was a manly man! There were no soft moments with him. With the jar unscrewed, he stuck a finger in and scooped out a bite of the peanut butter before shoveling it into his mouth and looking at the street. "Not much, just got back from vacation. You?"

Aw man! Now Ran thinks Tas is an idiot! Oh well, Tas knew it was probably true. I mean... His brother's a GENIUS! So obviously, if Ran says Tas is an idiot, then it must be true, because Ran had never been wrong a day in his life. or rather, that's what Tas believed. But as he made his way over to Ran and gave his big brother the peanut butter, his face lit up in delight as Ran made a comment- albeit rude and mean- that at least he'd remembered what he liked. YES!~ Nodding with a grin on his face, he spoke cheerfully. "Yup! I made sure to get your favorites, that's why I took so long!" Ah, yes. Teriyaki and peanut butter, Ran's favorite foods in the WORLD. Actually... Actually, that gave the kitchen-savvy boy an idea! He'd have to try his hand at making some snack to do with peanut butter and teriyaki chicken. Or pork, depending on which one was best with peanut butter, of course. Yes... That would be so awesome!
As Ran ate his peanut butter, like the man Tas wished he could someday be, with his HAND straight from the JAR, in the manliest fashion possible, and spoke, Tas listened, chewing on a loaf of bread. "Well that's good! I've been good too. I got to talk to the empress a little while ago and she liked my ramen I think. It was fun. Other than that, I can't remember doing much else... Oh, right! I made soup for Raistlin too, but I don't know if he liked it. I hope he liked it... So, how was your vacation?" Indeed. Tas was one of the world's few people who could ramble on forever about soup. Though to be fair, who could blame him? Had Raistlin decided to become a chef instead of a soldier, Tas would have still followed suit and perhaps risen to the international level as a cooking deity! Though for all the fame in the world, Tas would give it up so he could follow in the footsteps of the world's BIGGEST genius, even smarter than his BROTHER!

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
Oh.. so that was why he took so long. Well that made logical sense. It didn't dismiss him from being upset at his frustrating brother. Why was this boy so happy all the time? Didn't he realize he could have died. Didn't he understand how much he could have bothered the family. Dealing with all those troublesome doctors and hospitals. If he HAD died there would be a funeral and the thought of Tas in a casket filled Ran's eyes. A moment passed and Ran seemed distant. His heart feeling the soft pang of depression. Was there a chance he cared deeply for his brother? Was that worry? Not in Ran's mind. No, his brother was just someone he wanted to keep around for the food.. yeah.. that was it.
As Ran continued munching on the various goodies, he listened to his brother. Aa.. so like him. Helping others by making them good. He was more of a chef than he was a soldier. Tas was strong, but more in the culinary arts than any other. Not that Ran had reason to complain. He always got to taste the marvels her younger brother created, but it just was.. odd. Ran had no cooking talent whatsoever.
There was a question on his vacation and he thought about it. How WAS his vacation? "It sucked." He blurted out suddenly, chewing up the rest of his make-shift meal from his brother. It tasted wonderful in his mouth. the teriyaki burnt his tongue in a fabulous way. He loved it and even the look on his face showed it. A very faint red on his cheeks from sheer contentment. "Really.. it just.. was less than entertaining.." He struggled to keep his mouth closed while he ate and spoke between swallows. When was the last time he had such an amazing meal?

It s-s-sucked? BUT. BUT. HE'D SEASONED IT EXTRA GOOD, AND GOTTEN THE BEST BRAAAAAAAAAAND OF PEANUT BUUUUUUUUUUTTER!! Tas was very nearly brought to tears, until he remembered that they were discussing Ran's vacation, and narrowly escaped looking dumber than he was, by merely looking confused at first, then nodding in understanding a few moments later. "Oooh, your vacation sucked... Why?" Yeeeeaah... Ran was probably wondering what ELSE Tas could have assumed he was talking about, by this point... Ah, the joys of having a younger sibling, ne? Tas had no idea what those "joys" were, though, so he was twice oblivious to the fact that he annoyed Ran to death with his every word and action.
A brief nod as he explained it rather vaguely, that it just wasn't fun, and Tas accepted that as his answer, regardless of how very little it explained; to Tas, it told him just what he needed to know. It wasn't fun, so it sucked. Made sense...

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
There he went. Those sad eyes.. Ran groaned. What had he said THIS time? A sort of flicker of hidden panic and his eyes would look away apologetically. Don't cry.. PLEASE don't cry.. Ran would whine in his mind. He hated when his brother cried. That face always tugged at his heart strings. Oh yes, his brother was the one that always made Ran look like he was human or even worse, NICE. So as his brother looked confused then NOT sad, the man stopped holding his breath. A soft sigh of happiness left his face and he would not. "Stupid brother. What did you think? You know your cooking is gr- above par."
Ran had to stop himself from fully complimenting his little brother. After all, then what could he say in defense? Ran was the big brother. The tough one; the manly one. He had the scars to prove it. There was no way he could be all sweet and soft especially not to his-. Yeah.. he gave his brother a hug while he looked mad at the world. His body had moved on its own before he began walking, while scooping up peanut butter. "Nothing happened is all. What did you want to do today, Tas?"

Doooooh, Ran still knew he was stupid. Oh well, that's why he had to do all the stuff he does, so he can be uh... Not stupid! But oh, what was this? His cooking was... GRABOVE PAR!? D'aaaw, that made Tas feel happy! His cooking was grabove par, his cooking was grabove par~ He had no idea what grabove meant, but he assumed it was good. "It is? Cool! Thanks Ran!~" Aw, his brother was so nice to him!
And after a VERY nice compliment, and to note, Tas was still happy he was grabove par, Ran walked over and hugged Tas, who hadn't expected it, but hugged back anyways, not even NOTICING that Ran apparently hadn't intended to hug him, and was probably feeling rather awkward about now. And after the hug, Tas got to decide what they did? Hmm... HMM... Deep contemplative thought... "Iunno, what do you wanna do?" Yup. The world's FAVORITE answer to the world's most COMMON question. Indeed.

Ran sighed. His little brother.. he was so dumb at times. He had asked a simple question. It required a simple freaking answer and of course he gave the I don't know card. ERGGG. That was irritating. However would Ran think of what to do. He had spent his whole vacation trying to figure out what to do. Now he had to help his brother too. Oh well.. With a heavy sigh, he looked off and furrowed his brow. Well there were many options, but none sounded more fond than to simply do his casual.
"Let's go pick up chicks." He said in a bored tone. That was his way of avoiding awkward silence. A quick flick and he held a cigarette to his lips. A lighter pulled from his sleeve and he'd light up the minty cancer stick. A long drag and the soft exhale made the air smoky and whitish on the warm day. A flavor of menthol nicotine sat on his tongue while his body led him. Legs moving with ease towards a bar. His brother wanted to do that.. didn't he?

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
Ah, the simple IDK answer... Man's greatest ally in the world of conversation; Tas had no idea what he wanted to do, so he let his brother decide, deciding for himself that whatever his brother decided, it was his decision to decide to decide on what his brother decided. Decisively. And lo and behold, he DID decide! But what an odd answer...
Picking up chicks... Well, chicks were fun to pick up. They were cuddly and soft and warm and fluffy, and their feathers tickled Tas and their beaks weren't even that sharp, so it didn't hurt a lot when a chick pecked you before it became a chicken. But Ran wasn't well known for being the cute-and-fluffy type... So he looked at his brother, GENUINELY confused, as Ran dragged him over to a bar. Wait, since when did chickens live at bars!?
Well, this is certainly odd. Tas knew chickens lived on farms, he learned that in school! Or... Did they? It was either chickens or pigeons, one of them lived on farms. Maybe pigeons lived on farms, and chickens were all around the city? Yeah, that was probably it. But why in a bar? UNLESS. The bar MIGHT have been a secret nest of chickens! OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODCHIIIIIIIIIIICKEEEEENS!~

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
Ran felt a bit weird bringing out his brother for a drink. How odd indeed that his brother was fine with it? Oh well, Tas needed to learn eventually how to be manly like his brother. Ran of course knew he was the manliest of men. He had no opponents with his manly man ways and picking up chicks was a sport only for men who were as buff and attractive as Ran. His cocky smirk held on his lips and softly he chuckled. Yes tonight would be Tas' first experience in flirting. Hopefully it wouldn't end in a catastrophe. He wanted his brother to have fun.
As he walked in, Ran surveyed the scene and walked up to the first ladies he saw. Quickly he pulled out a rose and spoke a line of sweet nothings for her. She blushed, giggled and Ran walked away, feeling accomplished, though it was too easy. His eyes were more focused on his brother and how he would do. He was ready to jump in and help if necessary. He worried about his little brother, though he never showed it. He also controlled himself in fear of things getting too awkward while babysitting essentially. It was a sort of blurt out his question. "You've never flirted before, have you?"

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
Tas walked in, behind Ran, and watched, curiously, as Ran summoned a rose from the pits of nothing, potentially drawing a flower from the realms of a different dimension, interacting directly with the universe and time-space, and effectively generating a portal between this world and another, henceforth breaking the laws of physics, and expanding into the realm of quantum mechanics. EGADS. HIS BROTHER WAS A GENIUS! Oh wait... Ran was just a plant alchemist, not a magical quantum physician... Ah well, alchemy and quantum mechanics weren't too far separated. Come to think of it... Why is it this one subject was of particular interest to Tas, who seemed to be able to understand it quite well, when he could barely read, and barely made it out of high school with a diploma in hand? Odd... BUT NO MATTER!
Ran had, at any rate, summoned a rose to his hand and gave it to a girl, who laughed and watched as Ran and Tas walked away. How... Interesting. Weird, but neat. Smiling at his brother, he unwittingly played the role of Captain Obvious; "I think she likes you, brother! Why're you walking away, though?" Aye, it had taken him a bit to notice his brother had been speaking Amestrian, but upon realizing it, he too followed suit. And as if in response to his dumb question, he was asked a question by Ran. "Flirting?"

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
Oh right.. his brother was a moron. Ran had forgotten that. It seemed he hadn't even HEARD of the word flirting before let alone initiated it. Ran debated on how to explain it as he remembered and realized he had been speaking in Amestrian. That had to be remedied quickly. He swiftly remembered he was home and fixed his mental thoughts. His language sucessfully reloaded to Aerugese and his lips would twitch with a lick of a smile. His brother. He was an odd one. Yet it was th econcept of explaining flirting..
"Flirting is the act or words of complimenting someone in a positive fashion. Essentially making someone feel good." Ran started as he debated on having a smoke then decided not to since Tas was there and might want to try it. It was almost like having a kid brother at times and indeed compared to Ran, Tas WAS a kid. "If you're too bol-" Wait why was he teaching his brother things about getting laid. Things became mentally awkward and Ran brushed the whole idea away. "Nevermind. Let's just.. go.. what do you usually do on Tuesdays?"

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
Ooooooh. So THAT was what flirting was! He'd always heard the word around, but never understood it. So that was what it meant, ne? Cool! Noting that his brother had switched BACK to Aerugese, Tas too made the adjustment. And as Tas finally got the concept of flirting ingrained in his mind, Ran apparently decided that the bar was NOT where they would find chickens, so he was wondering where Tas usually spent his Tuesdays. "Ne? Oh, usually I just make a big bowl of soup and prepare little bowls to take to Raistlin-sama and Empress-sama and you and Kaede-san." Smiling, as he HAD answered truthfully, he noticed that a rather pretty girl walked over to them, having overheard. She smiled up at Tas, who smiled back and offered a little bow, drawing a giggle from her, albeit unintentional.
"Hey~ I couldn't help but overhear, but you said you make soup for your friends? Y'know, a man in the kitchen is a rarity; your girlfriend must be glad to have you around." Ne? Girlfriend?
"Hn? Oh, no, I don't have a girlfriend~"
"Oh, you don't? A shame, that's some real talent..."
"Oh, nuh-uh, I'm not very talented! My big brother, Ran, though, is an alchemical genius! Show her your flower thingy, Ran!" Grinning over at his brother, the girl likewise looked at the older Akiyama sibling, expecting to see the flower thing Tas had referred to.

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
Ran couldn't help but watch hopelessly at Tas' major feel over the field of talking to women. His eyes would show the look of worry as he wondered if his brother would get hurt. If that happened he would have to slap a bitch! Ran would NOT tolerate someone hurting his little brother. He wanted his brother to be happy with whatever goals he had. If he was going to be hit on by women. Ran wanted to make sure he had a happy day. His eyes watched curiously while a girl would come up to Tas. Oh God here it came!
Tas had redirected the woman to Ran and gave him a boost to his ego as well. Oh how Ran liked his ego stroked. So he had to make pretty flowers did he? Well he suppose he could do that again. From his bouquet he kept upon him, he pulled a rose out and showed it to the lady with a bow. "For you, M'Lady." He would say smoothly. After all, he was still a ladies man. It was a chance he would take happily to show off his charisma. His boom and whole game. For a brief moment he considered going into the circus.

Tas watched, with his normal, somewhat dopey, smile, as his brother conjured flowers from nowhere for the girl, who seemed rather impressed. "Wow... You are pretty talented, uh... Ran, right?" Tas nodded, as Ran was indeed Ran. "And the two of you are brothers? Cool... Well, my sister couldn't come with me tonight, and I have to go pretty soon, but how about the four of us come back here again sometime? Next Saturday, nine, sound good? Later, boys~" And as the girl walked away, there stood Tas. Tas eh... WELL. He didn't quite see the implications that he'd been invited to a date next week, but he DID note that returning to this place with his brother and two NEW friends would be fun. Though he still had no idea what it was that one did at a bar besides drink some special stuff and feel silly afterwards... Perhaps, as they did stuff here, Ran would explain to him the purpose of this drinking of weird stuff? He may even enlighten him as to what OTHER things people did at such establishments as this one!

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
Ran felt awkward and yet at the same time privileged. He had just scored a date. Not only that.. he'd scored Tas a date as well. What was this magic?! He felt a faint crack of a smile at his lips. Remarkable. This man had used his skills and got a date. Sure the babe had walked away but the date had been secured. Ran grinned at his brother and laughed softly. What was this awkward feeling though. Had Tas even been on a date? Ran could take a guess and the guilt sunk in. This date would be odd as his brother was dumber than a sack of potatoes. If this girl liked Tas, she was going to be disappointed. Tas had no idea how to please a woman in any way. Well on the other hand.. his brother was really sweet. Any woman should be flattered his little brother was going with them. Especially the way he cooked. None of this was mentioned outwardly though.

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
"Nice moves, guy." Said a pale blonde haired girl from the bar counter. She nursed what smelled like a strong tonic, perhaps vodka, in a tall glass, which she sipped from with bitterness. This 'seducer' was one of her legionarries? Intresting...this could provide some entertainment. She placed a coy smile on her face and traced the rim of the glass with her middle finger. What to say, what to say...
"Impressive alchemy, Ran. My parents were experts in that field. I'd love to see what you could really do...in private, perhaps?" And with that, like a dog, his ears perked up, along with what was said to be his brother. This Tas person made her laugh a little, sweet kid. This guy, on the other hand, reminded him of the few womanizers she's been hit on since she's entered the bar, yet his technique is far greater. She walked over to him, bringing her arms together to squeeze her bust up. She winked at him, with her golden ring in her eye gleaming. She stuck her tongue out a little.
"So, what else can you do?"

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
"Nice moves, guy." Cold slid down Ran's spine. Why did that voice hold something ill to it? As if he'd done something wrong? Oh. Sarcasm, right. Or so it sounded to him, then again, Ran was always paranoid. His eyes were still wide as he flinched a bit and looked over. He was CAUGHT! Well shit. His lips pulled on an oblivious smile, as if playing the idiot, but his brother was playing that card. So instead, he just grinned, that charming smirk, before resting a thumb on his lip and chuckling.
"Impressive alchemy, Ran. My parents were experts in that field. I'd love to see what you could really do...in private, perhaps?" Ah-Ah what? Ran was dumbstruck a moment. Well, he did not expect that. Would he say anything on it? Before he could, the woman was speaking again. Her body adjusted to show off her voluminousness and Ran felt a shiver of excitement run through his spine. This girl was coming onto him?!
"So, what else can you do?" Oh, the things he COULD do as opposed to what he SHOULD do. It took a moment for him to chuckle and form a response.
"I can do, a lot. However, some stuff shouldn't be done in bars. Let us take a step outside, M'Lady?" He asked with his flirtatious look. Something of a bad feeling crept on him, but for now, Ran ignored it. He couldn't show off his blade in the bar, after all. That would start a fight, which would end bad.
[uhhh typing as if that were a color mistake. Sooo Pretending she spoke in Aerugese if you want her to speak in ishvallan, tell me and I'll repost later]

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
"Of course, let's. Perhaps later we could take a few more to your place..." She said the last bit under her breath as she sauntered on by and out the door, swinging her hips back and forth only caught in glimpses by her knee length pale blonde hair. She could almost feel Ran biting his bottom lip.
How far would he go? How long would this still be fun? She pondered as she rested against the cold brick wall outside, resting her left foot flat against it, bringing her kimono tails up just enough to tease him. Usually she wore just the kimono, today was no exception.
She waited patiently outside contemplating what he was doing. Probably braging to that brother of his about 'scoring some babe'. God, this guy disgusted her, but she'd put up with it just for the fun of it. All she had to do was modify her usual pick-up lines. The sad part is, he probably thought he was pulling the stings here, but Kumero was the real puppet master here.
For now, she thought, I'll play along. See what mischief this way comes...

[Kumero, "He came out, looked around as if he'd lost her, then stood a couple of feet back from her, his quick glance stopping for a few more milliseconds in all the right places, or in her case, wrong places." This part of your post needs to be removed, please. You most likely unintentionally broke the rules by controlling another player's character otherwise called power-playing. Please reread the rules: https://mdalchemist.rpg-board.net/t1207-site-rules Thank you.]

Re: Funtimes, Funtimes
[permission given to bunny Tas]
"Of course, let's. Perhaps later we could take a few more to your place..." Ran couldn't hear her. She had already left. Something squeezes at his stomach, a feeling of self-doubt which was kind of odd for a man who was never wrong. His lips twisted into a frown and he walked over. His hand rested on Tas' shoulder while he directed his brother away from the batch of flirting women who might possibly try and molest the poor fellow. Ran trusted no one with his baby brother. His eyes found their sights set upon the exit. Taking a quick bow, he smiled and dismissed the woman whom groaned and longed to remain in his presence.
Ran accompanied the younger male outside and found the woman waiting outside for him. Ran straightened himself and eyed her curiously. A woman this calm about him, obviously had more up her sleeve than she led onto. After all, Ran had seen all types of women. So in his eyes, this woman screamed dominatrix, which really wasn't something he was into. However, he could not be rude to a woman, not at first anyways. "You wanted to see more?" His voice asked, while he slid the blade from his pocket, or at least seemingly. A knife that had materialized almost into his hand, but his bouquet was gone.
Smiling a bit, Ran gave a good swing. He needed to work more on his alchemy, but he hadn't gotten to it yet. Between everything lately, he hadn't had time. One day, he hoped to make something more than a small dagger. It was enough of a surprise on his opponents. After all, none looked at the palms of his hands, to see the engraved symbols of his own craft. His arrogance flowed like a fountain and he beamed a bit. or once, he wasn't flirting as much as he was showing off.
