Going to the Bar
Jayden trudged towards the bar, hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket. Okay, so he still didn't have a job. He didn't need one, though! All he needed right now was a drink, and he was damn sure going to get one. He didn't plan to get drunk, though. Sam would kill him. As if reading his thoughts, Sam groaned inside his head. You can't be serious, Jayden! Sam complained, A bar? Shouldn't you be doing more productive like, I don't know, finding a job? Normally, Jayden wouldn't have answered Sam in public, but when he was nagging him about finding a job, he had to. "Oh, come on," He muttered under his breath, "We've been over this. I'm not going to get a damn job, okay? And I'm sure as hell not going to talk to you in public, so put a sock in it!" Sam grumbled, but didn't say anything else. Satisfied, Jayden stepped into the bar and walked back to the counter as if he owned the place. Slapping his (fake) ID on to the table, he cleared his throat to get the attention of the girl behind the counter. "'Excuse me," He said, "If you're not too busy, I'd like a drink." He was a very impatient person, especially when it came to his drinks.

Re: Going to the Bar
Amethyst was the one working today. She was slightly annoyed. She despised Amestris, and here she was, working at a damn Amestrian bar. How ironic! She turned at the sound of a voice asking for a drink. Spoinning around to him in her work uniform, she bent down and picked up the ID. She inspected it intently, but it seemed it was good enough. Besides it wasn't her job to check genuity and why should she care if some Amestrian kid decided to get drunk despite the laws. "What'll it be?" she asked in her cold voice, resting her sapphire eyes on him. The room was hot and she was wearing the basic maid uniform. Oh it was degrading, but she needed the money. Bbesides what was a better way to take down Amestris then observing day to day life? At least that's what she told herself. She commenced washing out a glass as she waited for his response.

Re: Going to the Bar
Jayden looked the girl over. She was pretty enough, he supposed, big blue eyes, dark skin. And sure, her outfit was nice, he supposed it was a requirement of the job. It turned him on, regardless. He wasn't really worried about that, though. He was only worried about one thing right now.... "Give me a beer," He said simply, moving his gaze from the bar worker to the cup she held. He was defiantly thirsty. That was all he wanted right now, a beer. 'Course, he'd end up drinking more than one, of course, but for now, he'd order them one at a time. Jayden, if you get drunk, I'm going to kill you, Sam announced. Jayden ignored him. How could Sam be so stupid? He couldn't talk to him right now, he was in a bar full of people! But he didn't mind not listening to Sam, anyways. Sam didn't seem to mind being ignored, though, because he just kept talking. If you really want to drink so damn much, get a job here. You could be around beer all day! Wouldn't that be nice? Jayden understood, now. Sam was talking to try to annoy him into either leaving or actually getting a job! He'd show him! He'd do neither! He smiled at the girl. "I don't have all night," He said impatiently, "Let's hurry it up here."

Re: Going to the Bar
Amy sighed. A bossy little prick this one. She turned and poured him a glass, sliding it down the bar "You're lucky, today's Tuesday, first one's on the house." she repeated in her sarcastic tone. She didn't want to be here. She didn't want to be around pricks who had no appreciation for one another. She picked up another glass and tilted it, examining it closely. Did these strange people actually enjoy the taste? How gross! It smelled disgusting enough. Her nose wrinkled briefly before she turned and sat at the bar stool behind the bar, crossing her legs, alm ost annoyed. The boy was the only one sitting at the bar, so she assumed she'd have to pay attention for once, "Anything else, kid?" she asked as she looked interested in a neon sign above the door. Exit.. yes that was it and how sweet and inviting it looked!

Re: Going to the Bar
Jayden took the cup and took a swig. Since there was nothing else to do, he decided to spark up a conversation with the bartender. "Well," He said in his usual sarcastic tone, "Someone looks awful happy to be here! But I suppose that's what work does to you, right? Sucks all the fun out of everything." The last part was directed more at Sam, who groaned. If he'd had his own set of eye inside of Jayden's head, he would have rolled them. You idiot, Sam grumbled, At least she has money. That she getslegally. Jayden rolled his eyes at the statement, but said nothing. This conversation could wait until they got back to the shitty hotel room that they had recently started to call their home. Sam continued talking, but Jayden blocked him out. He didn't want to talk to Sam right now, didn't want to be thrown into another institution. He just wanted to be normal. So he took another swig of his beer.

Re: Going to the Bar
Amy sighed and rested her chin in the curve of her palm. "Of course, there are ten other places I can think of that I'd rather be, number on eon the list? Jail." Of course she was trying to be funny and the only way you could tell was the hint of a smile curling at the edge of her lips. She really did hate working the bar, just a day ago a man had grabbed her ass. She was about to punch him but thought better of it. However, sitting here now, made her think back and wish she had done something. She could've been fired. With a doubtful sigh she closed her eyes briefly. Getting in a bar brawl was not a good idea, she'd be a criminal then.. that wouldn't be good. She'd be chased about, with a wanted poster over her head. Well maybe that was overdoing it, but still, she could seriously cause some problems in a bar-brawl. "You? You don't look old enough to drink, to be honest." she purred, amused.

Re: Going to the Bar
Jayden chuckled quietly. "That would be fun, wouldn't it?" He smiled at the girl and took another long swig of his drink. For some reason, this woman didn't seem too excited about working here. He could see why. Drunk men could be awful perverts, and working conditions for women at bars would obviously be hard, he supposed. He'd drunkenly tried to pick up female bartenders a time or two while drunk at bars, much to Sam's displeasure. For some reason, Sam wasn't as fond of one night stands as Jayden was. Jayden sighed quietly. He would never really understand Sam, always wanting people's approval. What did it matter? Eventually, someone is going to hate you, even if you give them a thousand reasons not to. Might as well sit back and let it happen.Glancing back up at the bartender, he smiled. "Sure I am," He lied smoothly, "You saw the ID, didn't you? I look rather young, I suppose, but I'm really 21." Sam groaned at this reply.

Re: Going to the Bar
Amethyst arched a brow. He was 21? Doubtful. Shrugging it off though, it wasn't any of her business. If the boy wanted to get drunk and he had the 'legal' id on him, it wasn't her problem. If it was, well then she was in trouble. She grinned in a almost seductive way, "Sure you are kid, just do me a favor and don't get raped on the way out, I rather need my job." Her vopice hinted amusement and as much as she tried, she couldn't hold back the smile in her eyes. She enjoyed the kid's company for sure. Even if he was Amestrian, he was like her in a lot of ways. So this meant she knew the perfect ways to tease him. She rested her sapphires on him again and drummed her nails on the bar. She seemed almost wicked, the way she seemed to play with him and in a way she was trying to get him to leave without getting in trouble. Was it possible she felt affection for the strange, Amestrian boy? She sighed. What have I become. The wings on her back (tattoo) throbbed slightly and she winced. It felt as if God knew where she was. A fallen angel, the pain was grimacing and richocetting through the shoulderblades and the vertebrae of her back.

Re: Going to the Bar
Jayden smirked. "Please," He said, rolling his eyes, "Rape? It's just free sex." Sam groaned, but Jayden ignored him. He wasn't about to start yelling at himself in the middle of the damn bar. Besides, he didn't hate this girl. He didn't want her to think he was crazy like most other people did. Plus, she knew he wasn't 21 but was selling him beer anyways! If he started talking to himself, she may assume the booze had gotten to his head and refuse to sell him more. That would be a thousand times worse than her knowing he was legally insane! He just couldn't live without his beer, he couldn't. He raised his eyebrows curiously as she winced. "Something wrong?" He asked slowly and rather carefully, since it could possibly lead to an actual conversation rather than the usual shallow chat between a bartender and an alcoholic. He wasn't sure if he wanted that or not.

Re: Going to the Bar
She ignored his comment on free sex, that was uninteresting to her, besides her shoulderblades were on fire it felt. Amy rested a hand on her shoulder and gritted her teeth, her pink lips pulled into a frown as she swore under her breath. "No.. it's nothing." she said softly. "I pulled something is all." A lie that fell effortlessly from her lips. This happened commonly when she was in Amestris, especially when their were alchemists nearby. The strange style they used activated the rune-like scar on her back and shoulders and boy did it burn like hell. She shook slightly, but poured a glass of water. "Migrane from all the lights too." She responded, not opening her eyes. She knew he couldn't see the marks, but they felt like they were making her glow. How disgusting she felt; her body on fire almost, but she had to endure and ignore. Her eyes went back to the kid before she took a new drink. He probably thought she was crazy. How amusing. She straightened her dress and pulled at the sleeves of her fingerless lace gloves, resing her chin in her palms again. "Just let me know when you want another drink."

Re: Going to the Bar
He cast her an almost worried look. Almost, though. He couldn't really worry about anyone but himself, could he? Sam made an amused sound and Jayden glared at his drink. It took all of his willpower not to tell Sam to shut up. He still didn't want to be called crazy and sent to another Institution. That was defiantly the last thing he wanted. 8 years in an Institution had been more than enough for him. Still, he was a bit worried about the bartender, he had to admit. She looked to be in too much pain for something as simple as a pulled muscle or a migraine. "Are you sure that's all," He asked, focusing his eyes on hers and nearly flinching at all the pain that was visible. Sam, who had been almost quiet for a few minutes, spoke then. It looks like something's really hurting her. Jayden just nodded silently. For once, he actually agreed with his friend.

Re: Going to the Bar
Amy groaned and rubbed her back. The wings hurt, like old runes glowing from the powers. She stared at the clock and stabbed her card in. She had to go, she couldn't take this pain. Her eyes were scrunched up in pain. "I'm sorry, I need to go ly down." Where though? Where could she go where she could shower away from the magic circles and strange powers? Her home was far away and where she stayed was a good hour's walk. Sshe slumped against the wall and breathed heavily. "damnnit.." She hadn't had an attack in a while, so why now? Why? Her head pounded like a raging fire and her shoulders and back matched. She let out a staggered breath, trying to calm down, she looked crazy didn't she? But it hurt so damn bad... Her eyes rested on the exit sign. If only she could get out of hear and breathe....

Re: Going to the Bar
Jayden followed her eyes and guessed what was going on. She probably doesn't have anywhere she can go. He knew the feeling. He decided to try to help in the only way he really could. "Come on," He said, jumping over the bar and offering her a hand to help her up, "You can come to my apartment and lie down. It's crappy, but it has a bed. You don't need to lie on the floor like that, these bar floors are dirty. Who knows what sort of viruses are floating around down there?" He paused for a moment, realizing she thought he probably just wanted in her pants. "I'll even sleep on the couch if you want me to," He said, almost thoughtfully. He would, too. He wasn't the most polite guy in the world, but this girl did appear to be in pain, and he wished someone had offered him a place to sleep for the night when he hadn't had anywhere else to go.

Re: Going to the Bar
Amy glanced at him briefly, but instead of daggers, she showed thankful gratitude. Her body shuddered slightly as she managed to fight her way through the crowd. At the entrance, she waited for her escort, hand still on her back. She grimaced, feeling the wetness of blood. Panic struck. What's going on here? Pulling her hand before her face, there was none. It was a vision... there would be a battle soon.. blood would be everywhere. With a huff, she leaned against the tree outside, looking as iff someone dislocated her shoulder. Her brow furrowed a frown on her mouth. She needed a change of clothes. As he met her back outside, she managed a weak gruin, "My name is Amethyst by the way. Pleasure to meet you 'Jayden'." She remembered his name from the fake ID whether or not that was his real name, she couldn't know, but still she'd tease him once she was up and running completely again.

Re: Going to the Bar
Jayden walked behind her, she sure was moving fast. When he caught up to her, he grinned. "Hey, don't get all sarcastic! The ID didn't lie, my name's Jayden Owen, just like it said!" And of course you fail to introduce me! Gah, Jayden, ignoring me won't make me disappear! Jayden shrugged and ignored him anyways. Him and Sam got along fine if they were alone in the apartment because they could talk there without being thought of as crazy but out in public, the one who wasn't dominant would usually get bored and try to spark up a conversation which the other would, of course, ignore. Sam usually got mad at this point. When it was Jayden, he just kept talking to mess up Sam's concentration. It wasn't healthy, obviously, but they both had to admit it was fun in the end. It was all a game to the two of them, anyways.

Re: Going to the Bar
Amethyst grinned, "Good to know you're at least not a liar." She groaned and rubbed her shoulders. "I'm sorry about this, I'm empowing you're personal space, but my home is about 20 miles south of the middle of nowhere." Which was true. "I don't have my car heresince a friend drops me off at work everyday. And God it's cold out here." She shivered, wrapping her arms around her bossom and staring at the sky. For an amestrian, this kid was okay and it was odd that Amy was accepting him so easily. She knew the kid had a darker secret, but so did she and she was sure hers was far more scary and dark. The fact she was a cold-blooded murderer and yet a light of retribution at the same time. She used to be far more cold-hearted, but lately it seemed strange, as if she didn't hate as much and she was more fearful. How strange... she stared at the boy a moment, unintentiaonally. What was so special about this boy?

Re: Going to the Bar
Jayden's eyes darkened slightly. He was a liar. He knew that much. Normally, he would have said this out loud, not really caring what this person thought of him but...somehow he couldn't make himself say it. For some reason, he actually cared what Amethyst thought of him. He shivered slightly. He'd never actually cared what anyone thought before. He forced a smile back on his face. "Yeah," He repeated quietly, "it's freezing." He focused his eyes on his feet. Sam, who had guessed what Jayden was thinking, made a gasping noise. Never thought I'd see the day. Jayden Owen, you don't actually care about this girl, do you? I'm surprised because...well...she's not you. And that's the only person you care about, isn't it? Jayden remained silent. Both he and Sam knew the answer to that question. It was rhetorical, really.

Re: Going to the Bar
Amy looked over and blinked, "What's wrong, kid?" She winced and fell to her knees. "Da-damnit." She shuddered violently and gripped her shoulders hard. Something strong was around. She huffed and looked at him weakly. "I'm so sorry you have to see this." She struggled to her feet. "I need a shower and to lie down." She sighed. "Are we walking, or what?" Her eyes set on the distance, if they walked it would take a while for sure, but a car would rise suspicion. Way to scew things up Amy. Way to stay incognito! She scoffed and looked at Jayden, her eyes soft again, "Hey yui opkay? You look like you lost a fight with a brick wall, kid." She was concerned for an Amestrian? Oh God was punishing her! That HAD to be it.

Re: Going to the Bar
Jayden looked over at her, slightly annoyed. "I'm not a kid," He said, as if to clarify. He may look like a kid, and to her, he may be one, but he'd seen a lot in his 19 years, and was far from being an actual child. He'd been forced to mature rather quickly, with his mother completely hooked on drugs by the time he was six and all. He glanced down at her as she fell, and felt guilty for snapping at her. He smiled weakly. "I actually drove here, but we could walk if you really want to." Sarcasm, of course. It was the most he could do to lighten up the mood. He winced at the 'kid' comment again, but said nothing. He thought of Sam and about how soft-spoken he was. Not a brick wall, he thought to himself, more like a padded room. "Naw, I'm fine," He said quietly, "Just thinking, I guess. I'm a bit tired, too, I suppose. What about you? Still hurting from that...uh...pulled muscle?"

Re: Going to the Bar
Amy felt bad when he snapped at her. He obviously took offense to the affectionate term, 'Kid.' Pausing amoment she shook her head, "Don't worry about me, and I'm sorry I offended you Jayden." She rubbed her shoulder and yawned. "I'm not used to people even acknowledging my existence. Most of my life was spent shadowed by others." She looked off and straightened up, the pain in her shoulde dying down. She smiled. "Well the muscle is relaxing a bit, I have no idea why it attacked me suddenly like that, but I'm good." She laughed lightly, seeming like a completely normal girl. "Nonetheless you still owe me a shower, because you just ran off without paying for your drinks and you know what? That's coming from my paycheck!" She gave a playful wink and laughed lightly. I have no idea what happened, but I feel fine now....

Re: Going to the Bar
"Ah, it's fine," Jayden said rubbing his head. He smiled at Amethyst just to let her know that he meant it and wasn't really mad. "I don't see why people would ignore you or anything, you seem nice enough." He glanced up at her briefly before looking back down at his feet. He'd never actually complimented anyone before, and he knew he'd never hear the end of it from Sam, but he didn't mind. He sighed, relieved that she was feeling better. He had no idea how to do any sort of medical care, even something as simple as caring for a pulled muscle, which he still wasn't sure she was being all truthful about. He didn't mind, really. He was never all truthful with people. Why should they be truthful with him? He laughed. "I guess I do owe you something, if a shower's all you want, than I'm in luck!" He grinned. Free drinks? He was starting to like Amethyst more and more by the second!

Re: Going to the Bar
Amy laughed lightly and smiled. "Yeah, a shower sounds good." She ran a hand through her hair and rubbed her shoulder briefly. Whatever had caused her discomfort, was gone now. She blinked a few times then turned to Jayden with a smile, "Well, Casanova, lead the way." Again, teasing him, she had a playful grin and her hand held out, offering it to him. She didn't expect him to take it, but more or less was telling him to get moving. Resting her legs a moment, she examined the sky. It wass getting dark and rain was impending darkly. They'd get drenched.. great. She couldn't help but let out a soft scoff. Great, she was definitely not in the clothes forwalking in the rain. Speaking of which. "Shit." she swore softly, "I forgot my change of clothes." She groaned and turned back. "I've gotta go grab my bag. Stay here?"

Re: Going to the Bar
Jayden grinned at her. "My car is that way," He said, nodding in the general direction of the parking lot. He wasn't very descriptive, but then, he never was. He examined her hand for a moment before playfully giving her a high-five and grinning. He was being a bit childish and wasn't sure why, but it didn't matter. He glanced up hesitantly at the sky. Great, he thought miserably. He hated the rain more than anything. He wasn't even really sure why, it was just something about the noise it made and the way it smelled. He'd never really been able to stand it. Sam, of course, loved the rain. Something about it just made him happy. Pansy. He glanced over at her. Something in him panicked that she'd realized how crazy he was and was making a break for it, but it was impossible, right? She hadn't even heard him talking to Sam! He hadn't talked to Sam the whole time he'd been with her! He nodded hesitantly. "I'll be here when you come back." If you decide to come back.

Re: Going to the Bar
Amethyst sighed and laughed, half tempted to pull her hand back last minute, but instead, she let him slap it like a highfive. Shaking her head, she playfully ran a hand through his hair before darting back into the building. She struggled through the crowd before finally grabbing the small sling-over back. Grabbing it, she hurried back out, dodging the groups of dancing people and the new bartender. With a sighh opf relief, she grinned, "Well, I'm ready." She smiled, "Wait long?" Again she was teasing. It was a form of affection she showed. It was som much easier to do. Her blue eyes sparked amusement as she surveyed him. He seemed worried about something. However, she didn't ask about it. Just as she stood on the sidewalk, it began to trickle slowly, beginning to drip down slowly. Amy blinked and looked up with a frown. And here comes the rain....

Re: Going to the Bar
Jayden laughed as the high-five went through. He shifted from foot to foot nervously the whole time she was gone. What if...she left? What if she's not coming back? What if she knows I'm crazy? Or, even worse, what if something happened and she got hurt again? He shuddered at the thought. When she came back, Jayden almost collapsed in relief. She's okay. And she may not think I'm crazy. Why do you care what she thinks? Sam asked with an annoyed noise, you don't care what anyone thinks of you. It was true, and one of the reasons why Jayden and Sam didn't get along as well as they used to. While Sam wanted to please everyone, Jayden just wanted to piss everyone off. It was sort of contradicting. He smiled at Amethyst. "Sure," He said, "I was about ready to set up camp you were taking so long." He smiled. Sarcasm, of course.
