BRIEFING:
→ This is a specially designed scepter, thick at the handle so that it may be able to extend into a staff by way of alchemy. The face is based on an old technique used to craft metals into stronger material capable of nullifying specific types of alchemy. In this case, it works against Aurel's black hole, in essence able to hold it in place like a magnet or repel it. The shape of the face is based on a rose, exemplifying the idea of impermanence, whereas the metal shards surrounding it in a circle represent the vengeance of thorns when one gets too close...
→ A trident is a three-pronged spear. It is used as a military weapon. Tridents are featured widely in mythical, historical and modern culture. The sea god Poseidon or Neptune is classically depicted bearing a trident. That is why Aurel likes it; it makes him feel powerful. As a weapon, the trident is prized for its long reach and ability to trap other long-weapons between prongs to disarm their wielder.
