DESCRIPTION:
→ Jayden is sort of tall and has messy, dark brown, nearly black hair. He has a small-ish body frame. His eyes are a very dark color of blue, so much so that they almost look black. They are usually slightly unfocasued, since he is in his head a lot of the time, thinking. He is rather pale, and avoids the sun since his skin burns rather easily. He normally dresses in mostly black clothing, normally he wears a black overcoat, with mostly black clothes underneath it. He usually wears a belt that is equiped with weapons of sorts, in order to protect himself. His voice is sort of deep, but a bit scratchy. He usually talks in a monotone, unless he is being sarcastic. When he is using sarcasm, his voice is slightly higher and shows more emotion. Depending on which personality is dominant, he will either carry himself in a confident, cocky sort of way, or he'll walk with his head down, ignoring everyone.

PERSONALITY:

Jayden is confident and cocky, almost arrogant at times.He could defiantly be labeled as a smart ass. He hates any type of authority, and will go out of his way to piss off anyone who tries to gain his respect. He takes pride in not caring what people think of him. He can be very manipulative at times and is an excellent liar. He is sort of a pervert, and he loves to party. While he is rather outgoing, Jayden is sort of lazy, and he ignores most people most of the time. When he gets into a relationship, he often tries to see what benefit will come to him because of this. As a result, he doesn't have many friends, since he won't be friends with anyone he doesn't think will have any benefit to him. The friends he does have he mostly ignores until he needs something, which causes them to eventually break off friendships with him. He is pretty much a loner because of this. He can get women rather easily, but doesn't usually stay with anyone too long, and mostly gets into relationships for the sex. He is a big fan of one night stands, because he doesn't like relationships. This is because he has extreme trust issues, and trusts almost no one. This is the one quality that he shares with Sam. He would be smart if it didn't mean working and pleasing authority figures, so he pretty much failed in his academic studies on purpose. As a result, he was hated by most of his teachers in school, and ended up dropping out when he turned 16. This makes it nearly impossible for him to get a job, though, which results in him being broke nearly all the time. Because he is so lazy, though, he has no real desire to find a job, so he never really looks for one. When he needs money, he will steal it. He manages with just enough money to rent a crappy apartment and buy cheap off-brand foods, which keeps him satisfied enough.

Sam, the name Jayden gave his split personality, is about the opposite of Jayden himself. While Jayden is confident and cocky, Sam has a very low self-esteem and is constantly putting himself down. He wants to please people, but he can't, so he's terrified of them, causing him to be severely anti-social. He is rather quiet and extremely shy. When it comes to talking to people, he often stutters out of nervousness, which often gets him made fun of. This is one of the reasons why his self-esteem is so low. He is not lazy like Jayden, and tries to do enough work for the both of them when he is dominant. This sometimes pisses Jayden off, although Sam has no idea why. Jayden will usually say it's just the idea of working that gets under his skin. When Sam works on something, though, he puts all of himself into it, which makes it that much harder when he fails. He gets depressed rather easily when this happens, and will shut out the world even more than usual. Like Jayden, he doesn't make friends easily, but for entire different reasons. Since he is so very afraid of getting hurt, he sabotages most of his friendships. When he does find someone who he believes is a good, trustworthy friend, he will be extremely loyal to them, though. But if they end up not being as trustworthy as he thought, he will fall hard and go into a deep depression. Because he sets his standards for people so low, it is not hard to surpass them, though. Relationships are nearly impossible due to his sabotaging and fear of people, which goes double for women. The only person he can really talk to is Jayden, who he sees as a sort of older brother. Although, he can't usually talk to Jayden unless they're alone somewhere, otherwise they would be deemed 'crazy' by everyone. While Jayden may not care what other people think, Sam cares deeply.

HISTORY:
→ Jayden's mother was 16 years old when she became pregnant with him. His father promised to stay with her and help to raise him, but about six months into the pregnancy, it became too much for him and he left. Jayden's mother never talked about him much, but the simple fact that he'd left was more than enough to make Jayden hate him.

As he grew up, though, it didn't matter much. His mother loved him as much as she could considering the trouble that the timing of his birth caused for her. She was never able to finish High School or attend college because she had no relatives to watch Jayden, and didn't have enough money for a babysitter.

As much as she loved Jayden, a part of her still resented him for ruining her relationship, education, and, overall, her life. When these thoughts became too much for her to bear, she began using drugs. Jayden was 5 when this happened. Over the next year, Jayden's mother became hooked on drugs, leaving the two of them with even less money than before. She was often high, and didn't pay much attention to Jayden. Since he was an only child, he got rather lonely. Since he wasn't very good with people, even as a child, he created an imaginary friend, who he called 'Sam.'

Sam was more or less Jayden's only friend. He talked to Sam often, and would pause as if someone were talking back to him. Before long, he began actually hearing Sam's voice in his head. This began to happen more and more often until, eventually, Sam was no longer 'imaginary', but a real voice inside of Jayden's head. He developed into a sort of alter ego, and sometimes Jayden would find himself completely in his mind while Sam actually controlled his body. While both Sam and Jayden were a bit scared by this, Jayden deemed it 'normal'.

One day, however, a teacher noticed him talking to himself under his breath as if he were actually talking to another person. Worried, she asked Jayden who he was talking to. He then proceeded to tell her about Sam, and she called his mother. His mother was high when she picked up, and it was obvious by her voice. The teacher immediately called the police, and Jayden's mother was arrested for drug use.

Since they weren't quite sure what to do with him, Jayden was sent to a therapist. The therapist listened to Jayden and diagnosed him with Multiple Personality Disorder, or MPD. Jayden was treated like a freak for a little while, and was eventually sent to live in a Mental Institution until he turned 18.

While at the Institution, Jayden experienced things that would have driven him insane (well, more insane.) if it weren't for the company of Sam. While part of him resented Sam a little for getting him thrown in the Institution, he couldn't stay mad at his friend for long. He continued to talk to Sam, which made even those at the Institution think he was crazy.

The older kids often teased him, but Jayden was able to stop it in the only way he really knew how; with violence.He got in a lot of fights, some ending in him, or other people, getting hospitalized. This was bad news for Sam, who was shy, quiet, and defiantly not violent. When he was dominant, Sam would get the crap beat out of him by other people who thought he was Jayden. People took Jayden as some crazy kid who talked to himself, so they didn't understand why he was so different when Sam was in control. Because they thought it was an act, they'd beat up on Sam anyways.

Although he had been allowed to attend school in the Institution, Jayden dropped out when he was 16 because he found that he couldn't stand people. He also hated the idea of having to do work and listen to the teachers. If he hadn't dropped out, he probably would have eventually been kicked out anyways due to his constant disrespect and violent fights.

When he finally got out of the Institution at 18, Jayden found that he was even more messed up than when he'd been brought there. On top of his MPD, he was now severely anti-social, distrustful, and hated more or less everyone.

Shortly after leaving the Institution, he was told that his mother had been released from jail not long after he'd been put in, with the requirement that she show up for rehab every week. She showed up for about three classes and never came back. No one ever looked for her. Jayden almost did, but he figured she didn't come after him, so why should ha come after her? He ended up just barely getting by on the streets for a few months, although it was hard. To help himself out, he began stealing. Nothing major, just a few wallets. Just enough to get by.

He eventually stole enough money to buy a small, crappy apartment in Central and gets by with just enough to eat every month. While Sam desperately wants to get a job and stop stealing, ("What if we get caught?!?" "We'll have a nice warm jail cell with free food!" "You're an idiot.") Jayden is severely against it. So, they get by just fine, but it's defiantly a short term fix.

Sam hopes to eventually talk Jayden into getting a GED and attending college. Jayden hopes to get Sam to eventually stop trying to make him work.
