DESCRIPTION:
→ Lili's body was built for the stage in many ways. It's a body that grabs attention, partially because she's very tall for her young age. Her face is an attractive one, thin but not to the point of pointy, and her eyes hold an impish charm in their dark blue, small gaze. A small nose and a small chin, but an expressive mouth full of life. Her light-brown hair just reaches her neck in an unkept but not untidy rain.

Her body is also quite showy; a very attractive figure, with slender arms and a curvaceous body, with a tanned skin tone that makes her seem quite gentle. Her bust is by no means small and her Heart tattoo to the side of her right breast is as teasing as it is seductive, but interestingly it's her legs and hips that seem the most distinct. They're thick, powerful but still curvaceous and attractive. They're like the legs of an athelete. Fittingly; besides magic, she has a talent for kickboxing that she likes to exhibit, keeping her in shape despite her sweet tooth. As for her hips, one particular name she's been given that wasn't one she came up with is 'Killerhips' and not without provocation.

The thing is that Lili knows that she's sexy, and she knows how to use her sexiness to her own advantage. For the stage, it comes in the form of her main costume; a leotard the shade of red associated with sex and passion, exposing the Heart Tattoo she is fond of, with loose sleeves on her arms and fishnets from her hips to her feet. Her black trilby and bowtie add to the sophisticated magician look, but she knows sex sells and she's ready to use it. Her casual clothes are rarely as extravagent but she likes to have sex appeal so she can make herself more trustworthy, make people want to believe her.

...........................................................................

PERSONALITY:
→ No one forgets Lili's name, and she's ready to make sure of that.

Lili acts mostly very calm, very aloof and very relaxed, with an air of smug apathy and superiority. Everything she says and does is said and done with a finality and gentle but firm authority usually reserved only for kings and queens. It just sounds like a good idea to trust her. After all, it's not often you find someone who has magical powers. But Lili's extremely crafty and manipulative, able to convince just about anyone of anything. Lili knows what kind of praise she is entitled to and is happy to prove she deserves it.

She enjoys the finer, more pleasure orientated walks of life and is a heavy spender, often treating the few she can call friends with lavish gifts and inviting them to outrageously expensive places on a whim, but always as a quiet and firm authority. She has a passion for kickboxing, which is a sport she is quite proficient at, and it reflects in the more chilled and relaxed approach she has to life, even if magic is her heart and soul. When on stage or in the fighting ring she can, like all performers, flip into a being that is loud, attention-grabbing and larger than life, but it's her ego and smugness that carry on afterwards after the volume dies down. She boasts quietly but very often and, seemingly, her boasting is justfied.

She's grown used to people challenging her claims of magical prowress. Every time she travels somewhere new she has doubt cast upon her and every time she has completely debunked these claims. It has given her a strength and a flaw. The strength is that under all the pressure in the world, when the situation calls for a stoic and calm aggression, she won't crack. The flaw is that she has in recent years become very distrusting. Ironically, for all the people who trust her, believe in her, turn to her, she refuses to trust anyone back, in part for this reason. Even her nearest and dearest seem quite distant to her, whether they are aware of this disconnect or not. She hasn't even got around to telling her parents that she's a bisexual, so what chance does anyone else have of truly knowing her?

But even the most labyrinthine of people can unravel sometimes, and Lili's not nearly as complex as she likes people to believe. For first, if there actually is a skill she is in possession of, besides maybe kickboxing, it's that she's a fantastic liar; all her magic tricks are just that. Tricks. A fraud of the highest order, faking and grinning her way to fame and glory. She is a masterful schemer and liar, able to bluff her way through any and every obstacle, with her inability to crack giving her a confident defence. Of course, the more people you tell the lie, the less people believe you, so Lili is actually extremely secretive, paranoid and even easy to frighten when she starts to feel that she's gotten into something too big for her. She is especially scared by those with a genuine talent, because she feels that she actually doesn't have any power. For all she'll boast her opinion of herself is incredibly low, which is in fact the reason behind the lie in the first place.

Lili's reasoning behind the lie is what reveals the last tiny nugget of the real Emily Sly hiding behind the Lili she portrays. Emily Sly is a somewhat tragic, lonely leech, and has been since childhood, with a major break-up with a girl she loved during her mid-teens only exemplifying the problem. She doesn't just want your attention; she relies on it. She needs it to feel like she has a place in the world. If an event is earth-shakingly big enough, she'll want a part in it. She'll challenge people to duels of strength and alchemy. She'll even enter the occasional martial arts competition, so long as it's something. She'll do anything necessary to keep the lie alive, because without it she is nothing, and all the crowds will leave her in the dust.

So she carries on. She lies and cheats her way through life. She keeps her friends at enough of a distance to never really know her. She keeps a small, smug smile that hides the weak loneliness. She keeps her facade going, because the moment it stops, her world stops turning.

No one forgets Lili's name, and she's desperate to make sure of that.

...........................................................................

HISTORY:
→ Interesting that one of the most recognisable faces in her hometown, one of the biggest rising stars, the 'Almighty' Spark Heart, began out as such a nobody...

As the middle child with an incredible gymnast for an older sister, and a younger brother who was a maths prodigy, it's easy to see why Emily Sly had such a low opinion of herself, and how poorly she was thought of by others. Less outright hate and more apathy. "Wattzerface" was a more common name for her than Emily. And in her younger years she seemed pretty much down that road. The only thing that she really could call a skill of her own was kickboxing, which her parents, who wanted her to follow in her sister's more feminine footsteps, was shocking. Her main training partner was a girl a year older than her, Emma Lister, her best friend and the only person who made Emily feel somewhat special. After all, Emily thought that she was useless; every kid had something they could do, especially her siblings, and Emily was such a non-entity she felt like she had no place in life.

However, the stepping stones for her rise to fame and glory were put in place by the very circumstances under which Emily met Emma in the first place; a meagre experiment upon her bone structure. A relatively unknown medicinal company, which has since gone under, conducted a small scale study into the possibilities of putting an experimental new alloy into the human body, and tests were conducted on people of various age groups; Emily and Emma were some of the random subjects drawn for the children age group. The experiment, seemingly, seemed to have no effect on anyone, the experiment was scrapped and, due to the company's embarressment at the lack of immediate results, was never spoken of again and erased from history. Emily at least got a new friend out of Emma through the experiment, but otherwise it was mostly forgotten by everyone in her life, and it dragged out as normal.

Or at least it did until Emily reached the age of twelve when, while training outside with Emma, Emily got struck by lightning. Very luckily, she survived almost unscratched, which, unbeknownst to her, was thanks to that experimental alloy. Almost unscratched is the key word; she became magnetic. She could move small metal objects, electrical equipment went dodgy whenever she was near and she could even detect magnetic fields and electronics. Naturally, the overactive imaginations of kids started to dub her as magical. Emily considered telling the truth, but she found that suddenly she had a place in life, even if it was a completely charade. Emma, the only person who knew the truth, saw a money-making opportunity and helped Emily perfect her "magic" and help her come up with a lot of new tricks - many of the tricks Emily uses today still have their basis in the ideas her and Emma thought of at this time.

Soon, as the tricks became more ambitious and more convincing, and the momentum of their newfound fame piled on and on, adults also started believing in the two young girls who insisted that Emily had magic powers. It took a lot of work and a few close shaves, but Emily, or 'Lili' as Emma called her ("It sounds more glamourous, I think. More magical." Emma had said at the time. "Besides, suits you a little better."), got big enough to start working professional performances at the young age of fifteen. Probably their biggest success was when they found out that, when rubbed together at very fast speeds, with enough oxygen in the air and some help from magnetism, the alloy in their bodies would emit sparks. It wasn't noticed by the scientists during the experiments as there wasn't enough oxygen in the human body to ignite, but the fingertips? Plenty. Emma made the risky sacrifice from having some of her own alloy removed (by a very well bribed doctor, of course) and putting fibres into Lili's fingertips. This new trick pretty much kicked off Lili's rise to fame, and also stirred something in her heart.

Around about this time, Lili started to fall in love with the girl who helped her throughtout this, Emma, but the operation on her fingertips solidified it. Luckily, or perhaps unluckily from another point of view as we'll find out later on, when Lili asked Emma if she was interested in dating despite being the same gender, Emma agreed wholeheartedly, and they became truly inseperable, even if no one else knew. The burn mark that Lili had received from the lightning strike was tattooed over with a heart, and the name 'The Almighty Spark Heart, Lili Sly' was born.

Of course, fame is rarely good at such a young age, and Lili grew more and more distant with those around her besides Emma the more famous she became. After all, they were the ones who had called her "Wattzerface" and told her to stop kickboxing, and now she was a rising star. Besides, she had Emma, money and a place in the world now, even if that place was a lie. It was a heavenly time for her. It just wasn't made to last.

At the age of eighteen, Emma admitted a rather awkward truth; she wasn't fully sure if she honestly was attracted to girls, and explained that, though she'd keep in touch, she'd rather end the relationship now when both were young and avoid the sting of breaking up later, until she knew where she stood for sure, at least. Lili, outwardly, took this well at least, and tried to end the relationship on friendly terms, though this was the moment that sent Lili into the deep end of detachment, feeling no real connection to anyone or anything, radically sharply changing her opinion on others from people to impress to people to use. It also worked major damage to her self-esteem, plummeting her straight back into the world of wondering whether or not she had any talent at all, only now she's got a huge lie to hold up too, with only Emma, an wealthily-bribed doctor and her knowing the real truth. She can't work up the courage to tell Emma about her ego being shot to pieces, and perhaps never will, and from her boasting no one else would ever guess in the first place, so now her heavenly life of parties, performances and joy becomes an endless struggle to stop the lie from falling apart.

...........................................................................

TRIVIA:
→ Can fluently speak Cretan and Creig, can speak good Amestrian but is not fluent, and is learning to speak Aerugese but is struggling.
→ Was magnetized by a strong electrical shock as a young girl, and also has excessive amounts of cryptochrome, giving her magnetoception (the ability to sense magnetic fields, more commonly found in birds and fish but happens in humans too). This has the negative impact of givng her a frankly awful sense of direction. She also can't control her magnetic field - it's been permanent since the strike. This means that electrical equipment, while at no risk of permanent damage, will have functionality problems ranging from slowing down, failing certain tasks, emitting static and/or flickering for phones, monitors and radios, etc. The only things at risk of permanent damage are tapes, floppy discs and, to a less severe extent, flash drives and mobile phones.
→ Lili's magnetism is negative. Positive poles on magnets are attracted to her, and she repels other negative magnetic poles.
→ The origins of her magnetism are in an experimental alloy put into her body when she was a child, which also saved her from the lightning strike. It is unknown if this alloy has had any other effect on her, but it seems not; no one else who was in that experiment has had anything similar happen to them to her knowledge.
→ Lili can set off sparks by clicking her fingers; this is done by small fibres of the alloy put into her fingertips, not unlike flint and iron. However, it takes a lot of exposure to oxygen as well as a little help from the magnetism to ignite, which is why it's never happened inside her own body.
→ As Lili is able to convince people that she has "magic powers", below is a list of the powers she is able to exhibit in white and how she actually achieves the effect in olive;
The ability to disappear and reappear in a puff of smoke is actually just her setting off a smoke bomb and escaping
Whenever she goes near electrical equipment, it starts to mess up. She can also move small metal objects, and even can detect electrical equipment and metals though this is all simply because her magnetism and magnetoception
She can engulf her right hand in a non-lethal flame just by clicking her fingers though this is actually a small gas pump attached to her wrist that she controls with her opposite. She clicks her fingers to set off sparks on her hands, igniting the gas. This is why she can only create flame with one hand at a time.
She has the ability to do alchemy without circles or obeying the rule of exchange. This is undoubtedly the hardest trick for her to pull off. A lot of it involves distraction and making sure that the person she's using the alchemy for or on doesn't actually notice what's she really doing. The way she pulls it off usually depends on what she's pretending to use alchemy for (see above with making fire), but all of it is smoke and mirrors. Generally, her preferred use of alchemy (or what she claims is alchemy, as it were) is to repair electrical equipment, as she can simply grasp some wires and temporarily restart it, and depart long before it stops working again, which more believing members of an audience would put down on other things rather than the alchemy not being real. Other forms of alchemy would generally require for her to have prepared some kind of trick on a stage.

ALIAS:
→ Sponge

OTHER CHARACTERS:
→ Dunstan Hue, so far. Will update if more come up.

CREATOR'S COMMENTS:
→ Yeah, I'm probably a little early to start coming up with new characters, but I thought of Lili and thought that I should at least see how it went down. Some people have already called me out on the dodgy science of her character, so if you have an issue with the new explanation, I'll see what I can do

CUSTOM RANK:
→ The Almighty Spark Heart

How does she become magnetic exactly according to the laws of science? And gain the perception for the ability to in fact see magnetism with her vision in the same manner Dragon's Pulse can be viewed by those trained in the arts? May you provide some real life human examples to make it plausible? Lawl, not that people struck by lightning become magnetic.

Answer at your own leisure and time. I'll take another gander by then.

While I came up with the biomagnetism, to use the proper term, as more just as an excuse to explain some of the tricks and also give a reason as to why people start thinking she's magic in the first place (I usually go by the rule if it's cool enough, in fiction that isn't devoted to absolute realism you can break a few rules) and mostly I went by movies about it; it apparently does happen (Wiki article here) but is extremely rare, and is generally after big electrical shocks of any kind. I used lightning out of the blue, though if I found out it only happens with man-made electronics or whatever other reason that it doesn't happen with lightning then I'll change her history accordingly to a generator or something like that.

The rarity of it kind of explains why the kids suddenly thought she was magical, but I'll be the first to admit that this is kind of me bluffing with physics and saying "Well, umm... science, that's how!" If that's not really accepted here, then I'll change it though it might be a bit of a pain. As for real-world examples, I tried to find some by searching 'biomagnetism' but it keeps on coming up with the medicinal practise; you might have more luck.

As for the magnetoception as it's called, I really only skimmed at the Wiki entry. I've since noticed that it also causes the person who has magnetoception to be less able to tell directions, so I probably should've put that in. Another Wiki article here.

It wouldn't put a huge wrench in your plan if Lili can in fact maintain a consistent biomagnetic influence besides a single lightning strike? As I dabbled into those articles, it has made your case more plausible, and it would be nice to in fact see a character with a perk that has to do with magnetic fields and electricity. Certainly that it is not absolute realism in MDA, but they do follow a rule in the end and a set of standards. I suggest to explain in your profile a more concrete reason, give her something that allows her to perform such things. Perhaps an invention? Perhaps an influence in transmutation somehow? Whichever reasons they are, you are at a freedom to expand upon it. And I will take another gander prior to approval. Considering your perks are tame compared to more elements in the site.

REVISE

Please note to lessen the extent of electro-magnetic influence on electronics in general, within the trivia section as not to make them go fritz absolutely. Moving metal objects if say, they were rather large should not be plausible, and creating sparks from the hands despite the history stating she became magnetic should be punted.

Done. I've kept the creating sparks in her hands, but I've changed the reasoning for it from magnetism to friction from small fibres of the alloy in her fingertips. Also, lessened the power of her magnetism like you asked, though if it's still too much, you know who to tell.

Final thing, is your magnetism positive or negative? Consequently it can repel or attract objects in that manner, hence the question. Whichever it may be, please add it into your magnetism.

Forgive me if I'm misinformed, but I don't think the type of magnetic field, positive or negative, affects whether it repels or attracts anything other than other magnetic materials. It'll attract paramagnetic materials such as metal most of the time no matter what, and vice versa for diamagnetic. Other magnets, on the other hand, will shoot away if they're of the same pole, so I just made Lili a negative because that's how it came down on the coin. Again, if I've got it completely wrong you know who to call.
