This would be an idea of the size of Yanakilla, as well as what Yanakilla looks like.
DESCRIPTION:
→ Nayeli has appeared as a mix between two worlds since the day she was born. Her fierce red eyes are her mother's, a trait of all the chieftains of the Amazons. Her maroon-colored hair is uniquely her father's, which she keeps cropped to her chin at the front with it falling to her shoulders in the back. Her nose is a sharp angle on her face, her lips small and always in a neutral expression. Her eyes are always open and searching, her eyebrows turning slightly downwards so she always appears serious and bothered. She is tall and lithe in body, muscles visible in her legs and arms. She has slightly rounded hips and a larger bosom, which has taken her some time getting used to. Her feet are callused for she very, very rarely wears shoes. She prefers to be barefoot.
Her skin is bronzed from the harsh sun and she never burns. At least, the skin that is visible. Nayeli is the most heavily tattooed woman in her tribe. Her largest piece was her coming-of-age tattoo. Starting at her right hip, a pack of dire wolves run up diagonally across her back, her own mount, Yanakilla, at the head coming over her left shoulder. The colors shift from brown, gray, black, and white. Encircling her right wrist and her left ankle is the tattoo that marks her tribe. Ink of a deep green wraps the shape of three leaves, with circles of crimson in between. As an archer, Nayeli also has arrows tattooed down her left and right biceps. At the base of her neck, a pair of red eyes are tattooed, to remind her of her status as chieftain's daughter. She has many more, but she refuses to reveal anymore at this point and time.
Nayeli's voice is light and breathy, which seems strange coming from so serious a woman. Her footsteps are silent and quick; she always appears to be on the prowl. Her stature is always tall and proud. In the jungle, Nayeli wears the simplistic garb of her people. She wears a short skirt of cloth that goes to mid-thigh and a band of cloth around her breasts. As she was destined to go to Malos, she acquired a few simplistic “modern” clothes. These consist of a long skirt of dark gray, simple white shirts and a blue bodice. She dislikes wearing these clothes but as adjusted to them over the years. She never wears shoes of any kind unless absolutely necessary.

PERSONALITY:
→ Honor. Devotion. Responsibility. These words are what fuels Nayeli's life. She honors her tribe and mother; she honors nature and the oneness of the world. She is devoted to her people and her home, reveling in the natural beauty. She is equally devoted to Yanakilla, the two of them quite inseparable. She also has a great appreciation of responsibility. Since the day she was born, she has had a great burden on her shoulders. She takes this responsibility very seriously. She is also a little resentful of this burden, because it forced her to be treated differently amongst her people. This resent has made her serious in nature and very determined to complete her task so that she may return to her home. She naturally mistrusts all men, partially because of her tribe's nature and partially because of fear. She will never let this fear show, however. She always puts a strong front forward, always focused on her primary goal.
She does not know how to relax in the typical sense of the word. She cannot just sit and breathe to relax; that is something she drives in complete privacy. She likes to be moving and to stay strong. She will always run when she can and she will practice her archery whenever possible. She likes action, utilizing her spirit and energy of youth. She knows the time to rest can come when her quest is complete. Nayeli does not warm to anyone easily although she'll be respectful to all women. She is normally callous towards men, but was taught that in Malos society, that is frowned upon. She manages to grit her teeth and appear respectful, but she is always cool. She would rather threaten a man for answers than ask politely. She loves her wolf, her family and her friends. Her quick temper comes from her mother and she dislikes being referenced to her father in any way. As far as she is concerned, he was a vessel and once he has once again served his purpose, he can leave Panei forever.

HISTORY:
→ Panei. The most dangerous island in the whole of Esparia. Only the very brave and the very foolish dare to walk the deep jungle that covers the island like a vast blanket. The wildest tribes inhabit the island, the most feared being the witches of Atarango. By they are not the most powerful. That title belongs to the Amazon, a fierce tribe of women; the few who dare to travel deep into the jungle, the few who do not fear the Atarango. But now they have begun to fear. For a great curse is threatened to destroy their lives and only one person can save them. And only one girl can step outside of the darkness of Panei and enter the world of the Malos to search for the man who defeated the Andrewsarchus. And that girl was Nayeli, the daughter of Q'orianka, the queen of the Amazon.
Nayeli was born at night, when the moon was new and the sky full of stars. It had been a calm end to a harsh pregnancy for the queen of the Amazons. The 9 months had been full of crushing pains and terrible sickness. Ayelen, the great mystic, said it was because of her Malos blood. The blood of a great Malos man that caused such strife. For the mate of the queen had been no normal weak-bodied man to grace the bed of an Amazon woman. It was this man that would protect them from a great danger, Ayelen predicted shortly after Q'orianka had given birth. And it was the duty of this newborn child to leave Panei and search for the killer of the Andrewsarchus, to return him to the island.
Growing up was not easy for the daughter of the chief. All knew that she had a great destiny before her and as such, had to be trained specifically for her cause. A man, Javier, who had been the mate to Ayelen for many years, agreed to teach her the Esparian language and the Malos lifestyle. Ayelen and Javier were an odd pair; the only man who managed to survive a decent chunk of time amongst the Amazons. Q'orianka allowed him because he could teach Nayeli, but it was also widely known that Ayelen and Javier shared feelings. It was an extremely rare occurrence in a tribe that believed in feminine dominance, but since Javier respected these rules, he was allowed to live amongst them.
Nayeli became quick friends with Xochitl, the daughter of Ayelen and Javier. Xochitl had the will to learn about Esparia, which made her seem just as odd. However, she had the option to run and play whenever she wanted, while Nayeli did not. Constantly she was made to learn the Esparian language, the Malos lifestyle and all that would be expected her to fulfill the prophecy. In between that training, she experienced the harsh training of being an Amazon woman. She excelled at the bow and arrow and took to running whenever she could. It was all to just fill the time before her initiation.
The time came for Nayeli to earn her place as a woman in the tribe. As so many women had done before her, she went out alone, allowed a small dagger and one weapon of her choice. She took a bow and a quiver of arrows, and set off into the early light of dawn. She would have to survive in the deep jungles of Panei and return with a prize. She resolved as she disappeared into the trees that she would outlast any who had been there before. Her own mother had survived for two weeks in the jungle before returning with the head of a great beast. Nayeli vowed she would survive for a whole cycle of the moon (roughly one month) before returning home. Then she would at last be appreciated as a great member of her tribe and not just an outcast. The span of time was not easy in the jungle. Nayeli adapted quickly and indeed made many kills within her first few days. But none her sufficient for her to come home. She ate heartily of her kills and kept the skins to bring back to her tribe. But nothing was good enough. Nothing would ensure the respect of the elders and the annoyance of her rivals.
The moon was disappearing in the sky after my nights in the wild and yet Nayeli was still not satisfied. She had a pile of pelts of small beasts and even a collection of poisonous frogs for Ayelen to extract the poison from (having overcome her fear for the disgusting creatures... now it was just an intense hatred). They were piled dead in one of the pelts, there poison still potent after death until at least the next moon. Nayeli felt ashamed. She would have to return home with no great spoil. She knew she would be accepted as a woman by surviving in the wild this long, but nothing would earn her the respect she so craved. With a heavy heart, she made her way back to the outskirts of her jungle, the sky dark.
It was as she walked she first heard the howls. She paused in her steps, listening. The howls drew closer. And closer... And there it was. A young dire wolf, black as the sky above them. Nayeli raised her bow, slipping an arrow into place. They circled each other warily, both aware of the need to kill each other. Nayeli felt in this wolf the same need to be strong and be sure. Slowly, she lowered her bow and reached her hand forward. If the wolf took it, she would kill him easily. The wolf padded forward just as slowly and after a few moments, touched his nose against her palm.
The bond was formed. She named her wolf Yanakilla, after the night she found him. She returned to her tribe astride the dire wolf, supplied with the pelts of her kills. It became official and Nayeli received her tattoos. She was a warrior of the Amazon tribe. Soon after her tattoos healed, she was booked passage by another tribe off Panei. The time was now for her to go to Malos and find her father. The time for her to fulfill her destiny had begun.

Re: Nayeli
History... checks out. So that's a check.
Indigenous languages caught down, but I figure Saamaltaan is best spoken in Wingdings to explain how foreign the language is. And plus there aren't really any Mayan translators engines out there. Of course, feel free to ask Miguel/Jokun/Hua Peizhi for something to work with the scripts for pronunciation if you spoke the language.
Anyways, I hereby vest in my power an...
