DESCRIPTION:
→ As you look at this woman that stands in front of you, you will seem to notice several distinctions about her appearance. She is rather short, however also lithe and slim. Because of that, Gaia can seem to be rather miniature in appearance, and almost enough to be underestimated. Her movement, however, speaks differently. Moving with a grace almost unbecoming of one such as her, this woman of short stature seems to simply glide across the ground. On the other hand, in battle, Gaia’s movement style changes. Her gliding disappears and is replaced with sharp movements, quick changes, and agile leaps and turns; she is truly an acrobat when she fights. Her eyes in battle are always moving, and she will not hesitate to use anything seen to her fullest advantage.

On closer inspection of her face, the warmth that usually lies within the curves is covered by a sharp and cold undertone that seems to cover the whole visage; from her deep black irises to the way that she wears her hair up. The probing eyes are shadowed by soft brows, and the sharp nose is softened by a pair of luscious pink lips. However, one can tell that she has been through a rough life; the weathering is obvious, though it doesn’t detract from her usual appearance. There is no makeup on this face either, her beauty in itself is completely natural, no matter what way one attempts to look at it.

Skipping onto the clothes that sit upon her back, one would be slightly confused by the apparel that she chooses to wear. On her torso, a long-sleeved shirt, worn below the shoulder line and usually unbuttoned. Covering that is a short top, worn like a bikini and zipping up in the centre. As you move down, a very short pair of shorts line her hips, and a skirt-like shroud sits to the side. Stockings sit up to her thighs, and on her feet a comfortable pair of red shoes is worn. Trinkets and the like adorn every part of her, and you can get this understanding that, despite her cold, stoic nature, she may have a cool, calm and warm side to her as well.

As the layers are stripped away, one sees a pale and slim figure; breasts of average size, long legs and arms, and a tattoo of a butterfly on the back of her right shoulder—a tribute to her twin sister. Her hair, normally reaching her shoulder blades, is generally worn in a bun at the top of her head, though she has let this down before—that is a good sign for her opinion of you if she does release the bun.

PERSONALITY:
→ In the basest sense, Gaia is a true Artisan. A purveyor of all that is great and wonderful in this world; she is one who will simply stop, and appreciate the scenery around her. A natural user of paints and words, she is oft seen with a brush in her hand, humming a soft tune as she places her dreams and ambitions onto canvas and paper. One will watch her eyes close and her mind wash away into nothingness with the motion of her paintbrush; it appears that Gaia is purely in ecstasy. She will also call forth small tidbits from her own poetry, as well as poetry of others—she has learned to appreciate the works of those that she feels are great. Playwrights such as Shakespeare and Wilde, or authors with the minds of Conan Doyle and Poe; they are those who Gaia appreciate, as well as others. Always caught in her own little world, Gaia tends to sit around and hum a small tune to herself.

Unfortunately, this is who Gaia is when she doesn’t believe there to be anyone else around her. Around other people, she changes. Stoic, hardened, powerful. Gaia becomes the epitome of a perfect soldier, shutting away those around her from her true emotions, and instead giving them a cold and icy visage to deal with. She is efficient in her work, and makes it her priority to complete whatever tasks she is given. Unfortunately, this efficiency and coldness moves into her private life; if she is required to meet with others that she does not know so well, she will be cold and stoic with them, to the point of almost seeming rude. For that reason, some will become frustrated with Gaia, taking it upon themselves to lambast her for actions that she finds are out of her personal control.

If she finds herself liking somebody in “that” way, Gaia cannot usually bring herself to trust them in the way that one normally would. She will, instead, continue to act cold towards them; possibly even to a greater extent than before. This trait, known to a lot of people as “Tsundere”, may be one of the things that frustrate Gaia the most. People’s reactions to such actions are strange for her, since a lot of the time they are pulled closer in by her coldness. Unfortunately for them, they will almost always be driven away by her. Unfortunately, Gaia has found few that she can truly “fall” for, due to her distrust of other people and of the world itself. Instead, all that she can find herself trusting is the weapon on her hip and the powders that she wields. If she really trusts someone enough to open up to them, then they’re either very endearing to her, or they’ve put a lot of work in.

Being a traveller at heart, Gaia finds it difficult to settle into a single place. She moves from location to location, taking jobs as they come to her. Her youth is something that a lot attempt to take advantage of, for that reason Gaia is generally unafraid to use violence to solve problems that she cannot talk her way out of. Although she is physically quite weak, she is nimble; allowing her to use the strength of her opponents against them. She is very similar when being questioned too; dodging the heavier questions until they trip over their words, or they simply end up giving up in frustration. Because of this, there are times when she can seem evasive, and frustratingly so. At times, she has been told off for this, and told to be honest and upfront with people. This method of dealing with Gaia has rarely worked, if ever.

As for her sexuality, it deserves a place within her psyche all on its own. Gaia is, through-and-through, a true lesbian. She has no appreciation for the male form or touch, nor does she find them appealing. One would almost say that Gaia is intimidated by certain male archetypes, though she would never admit it. If near a man that seems to be attracted to her, Gaia will tense up and be colder in her speaking tones; being near a woman she cares for will allay this, however. If they choose to make a move onto her, Gaia will not soften the blow, nor will she sugar-coat her words. She will tell them that she has no attraction to men, she will tell it to them without changing her emotional visage, and she will pay no heed to their emotional state afterwards. One would almost hazard a guess of Gaia “hating” men, though she is perfectly fine around men that do not appear to be attracted to her. Instead, Gaia should be called a woman with a dislike of womanizing men, or those who let sexual activity control their minds. As it stands, Gaia is still a virgin, and she is abstinent until the right person comes along—not until marriage, simply until the correct person.

Despite her shortcomings and cold visage, Gaia still appreciates the ideals of charitable people. She will give a small percentage of her monetary holdings to a good cause, unless she has no way of surviving without it—Gaia is far from a truly selfless being, instead she is a woman who can neither live without herself, nor without seeing the happy faces of others. Instead, she is a true balance of selflessness and selfishness, though she has been known to travel into that foray of selfish when the mood takes her, or when she has to live for herself. As such, Gaia can sometimes be called foolish; she is. She is foolish, naive, but also very wise to the workings of the world around her.

To conclude our understanding of Gaia Bianchi, we must understand that most of what she does is a facade. In reality, she is a kind-hearted artisan; one must make sure they break away that layer of emotional ice that spreads around her body first, or they will have no hope.

LOVE:
→ Sweets, tea, ice tea, green tea, flavoured tea, anything that is tea, tea without milk, her weapon, women, her family, her home, her sisters, her health, her travelling, men that are actually kind to women, men that aren’t just in it for sex.

HATE:
→ Men, men, men, men, tea with milk, men, sleazes, murderers, getting work without getting paid, the desert, Kamahan (It is her least favourite country in the Ciel Dominion, but not exactly a proper “hate”).

DEEPEST SECRET:
→ She was almost a victim of a serial killer/rapist. She ended his spree of rapes quite quickly.

HISTORY:
→ The first of the world’s mysteries, the mystery of the heart. That is what the goal of Ferruco Bianchi, a Cerisian man that lived and worked within Gelemorte, was. A powerful person, Ferruco’s position as a politician within the Gelemortian society gave him access to a high paycheck, allowing him to support his wife and twin daughters, Gaia and Maria. Maria and Gaia looked much alike, and Gaia loved her sister like she was nothing else; they were inseparable, girls that, with every word, seemed to complement each other perfectly. Their mother was a baker that had moved her small shop from their villa-town on La Cerise, taking the business to Gelemorte when her husband had taken up his position. Setting up shop in the capital city of Vaingloria, Ferruco, Miria, Maria and Gaia were a pure, innocent and happy family, with little qualms throughout them. Each night, Maria would sing her own little song, about a butterfly that flew through the vineyards of La Cerise.

”O precious butterfly,
How thy beauty sings to me.
Fluttering through those Cerisian hills,
Over the wondrous wine country...”

However, as time went on, Ferruco and Miria grew distant from each other. Although they continued to hold up this facade of ‘love’, they were not showing the same signs as they once were. While Maria slept, Gaia sat up in her bed and listened to the shouts emanating from their family room; Ferruco and Miria arguing their lives away. A slammed door was usually the result, and Gaia could only cry herself to sleep in order to stop herself from throwing herself into the arms of her father... Did he still love her? Did Mother still love her and Maria? Even as her parents divorced, Gaia kept on smiling, trying to keep up a happy visage for them. Maria watched in wonder, and kept smiling honestly and purely, while Gaia’s smile was much like the smile that her parents had been putting on for the previous year—false, simply smiling to avoid being asked questions.

After that, the battles for custody began. Miria wanted to keep both girls, as did Ferruco. They knew that splitting them wouldn’t work, however they posed the same question to both Gaia and Maria, asking if they wouldn’t mind being split up, and maybe seeing each other on the odd occasion, allowing them to see and play on every weekend. Maria was the first of the two 9-year old sisters to answer, clinging onto Gaia and crying out her refusal to comply. She had “been with Gaia for too long”, and “wouldn’t be the same without her sister”. And while Maria held onto her and lamented, Gaia upheld both the sentiments of her sister, and her parents; making a very mature decision despite her age. Gaia said that it was up to her parents; she would only hurt Maria no matter what she did. The decision was made; Maria and Gaia were split. Maria went with Miria, and Gaia went to Ferruco. That night, Gaia slept while cursing herself for not choosing to keep her sister. That was her first truly lonely night, but it wouldn’t be her last... or her most lonely.

For the next year, Gaia and Maria met frequently, either playing upon a playground happily with each other, or swimming at the local pools. Miria and Ferruco made sure to choose locations carefully; public locations meant that they wouldn’t begin causing a scene with arguments. Neither Miria nor her ex-husband had found anyone else, and neither girl was interested in such a thing. These two girls, crossing into ten years of age, were only interested in staying as close as they could. In fact, when they reached the age that they could join High School, they were both enrolled into the same school, joining the same class. The twins were reunited once more, frequently having sleepovers with each other and finally being together again. Although both parents had some disagreements, they felt that the girls were of an age where they could choose such friendships. Therefore, Ferruco and Miria refused to intervene.

First and second years of High School now past, the two seventeen year olds started being more active in the outside world, getting a liking for boys and such; they had taken to wandering the streets at night—much to the disdain of their parents. A serial rapist had been out in the streets recently, they were warned to stay at home. However, on this particular night, Maria and Gaia snuck out of their respective homes, planning on meeting in the usual spot. As they met up before the fountain, they didn’t notice the shadow behind them, nor did they see the glint of the knife in his right hand. They walked side-by-side, talking and laughing, discussing the latest gossip, being teenage girls. Gaia, though interested in that, also expressed her interest in the arts, while Miria showed more interest in the sports side of life. Just as Miria announced the name of the boy that she felt should be best suited to be dating her, he struck.

---MATURE CONTENT WARNING---

”Maria!” Her sister was pulled back into the alleyway, a hand over her mouth. Attempting to scream, Maria was dragged backwards, unable to resist the pull of the obviously stronger man. Gaia burst off quickly, running into the alley after her sister. Unfortunately for both, the man had already pushed her to the ground, using the knife to slowly remove the clothing from her body, and producing his own... thing. Gaia couldn’t look away, and as she stood there watching, mouth agape; this mysterious man raped her sister. Gaia felt sick to her stomach, almost ready to throw up everything that was within her stomach. Her sister’s moans and screams gave her a migraine beyond belief, and the sounds of two bodies slapping violently against one another almost etched itself within her eardrums. His fill served, the man pulled away from Maria, flaccid and sated. Expecting her sister to be freed, Gaia stood up and prepared to run to Maria’s side. As she did so, however, the man drew the knife to Maria’s throat, and slit it with a single motion. Blood ran from the wound and spread onto the ground, and Gaia dropped to her knees, understanding. That man had killed her sister. That man knew she was there. That man was going to kill her, now. He turned away from Maria, and looked at Gaia with a perverted glint in his eyes, pointing the knife at her with a silent chuckle; gaining strength below once more. Gaia’s eyes were now locked upon the gleam of the blade, and as he approached, whispering sweet nothings and words of orders to her, she felt the rage increase. He finally reached her, placing the manhood against her lips. ”Suck.” A hand reached up, gripping the man’s testicles in a lighting grip, his face contorting from the sudden pain. ”No.” Pulling down sharply and quickly, the dangling mass was ripped off without a second thought. A scream of the utmost pain came from the man above her, and Gaia moved sharply, standing up and planting her fist into his chest, knocking him backwards; the knife falling from his fingers. She moved without thinking, ducking and gripping the handle of the knife, lunging at the stunned man and slicing his throat with the blade of the knife. Blood gushed from his wound and covered Gaia, and then the man fell backwards onto the ground, laying there, dead. When the police found Gaia, she was resting on Maria’s lithe and naked form, sobbing away her life; knowing it to be completely over...

---MATURE CONTENT OVER---

The court case lasted three weeks, passing through Gaia’s eighteenth birthday and allowing her to be tried as an adult. Upon recognition of both bodies, the court surmised that Gaia, though she had taken this man’s life, was under mental pain and anguish. The body was that of the supposed serial rapist; he had been arrested once before and, as such, was known to the police. Realizing that the other deceased was Gaia’s identical twin, the judge decided that it was a killing made in self defence; Gaia was allowed to walk free with the condition that she joined the Ciel Military within three years of the given date: Her birthday. That night was the first time that Ferruco and Miria had truly felt such sadness together, and they were found, the day after the court case, drunk and in bed together. Apparently, their relationship has prospered since then, and Ferruco proposed again, six months after that day.

Three days after the trial ended, Maria’s body was released to Miria, Ferruco and Gaia. Four days after that, they held a funeral. Only a few people attended the small ceremony on the hill; Gaia wearing a black dress that Maria had helped her make. While the rest of the funeral-goers watched and listened, Gaia sung the song that Maria had always sung to her; singing of the butterfly that flew over the hills of La Cerise. The crowd were in tears the entire, and as she finished the song, the coffin was lowered into the ground. Her song finished, Gaia herself didn’t break down. In fact, during the entire funeral, she shed not a single tear. However, that night was the first time since the divorce that Gaia felt truly lonely. This time though, this loneliness was worse; for she knew that Maria would not return to her. She wept herself to sleep, and woke up to a saturated pillow.

The next day, Gaia went (without the knowledge of her reconciling parents) to a tattoo parlour. Paying with her own money, she gave the artist a butterfly that she herself had drawn. This purple butterfly was to be tattooed upon her right shoulder blade; her eternal reminder that Maria was always behind her. The deed done, Gaia revealed it to her parents. They... accepted it, bringing her into a hug and telling her that everything would be alright from here on in. It was at that time that she had finally collected her thoughts, a month after the incident. With that, Gaia revealed to them that she had absolutely no interest in men as sexual partners, and that she would only fall for women; a gay. They seemed to accept it. Three weeks later, Ferruco began campaigning for Gay Rights in Gelemorte, so it seemed to go well.

Due to the scandal surrounding her politician father, Gaia was unable to join the military straight away. Instead, she began to use those three years to train. Instead of going into the military and taking their training, she was trained in a weapon that a close friend of her father from La Cerise, Leonardo, had developed. It was a blade that folded in upon itself, modifying into a projectile gun for ranged attacks if necessary. As she raised her proficiency in this weapon, her father also taught her about something else; Alchemy. A skill that only one in three had, something of great power, and yet also great worry. She was told of the wars in Amestris, and of the power that had been Father’s. As he educated her on the problems and misdemeanours of Alchemy, she began to see the possibilities in her mind, and power filled her every thought. His last words to her were “If you do this, your humanity is no longer assured. I believe that you have the spark. Are you willing to learn?” Gaia nodded in reply, and her training in Alchemy also began. He assisted her in the development of a fire-based Alchemy, and Gaia requested that she learn more about fireworks. When questioned by her father, her simple response was: ”I’d like to make something that at least looks good when I use it.” He laughed, and began to find out the information for her.

Developing her Alchemy didn’t take precedence over her learning of the gunblade, however, and with each passing day, she slowly began to grow more proficient in her wielding of the gun-sword, and her Alchemy took roots within her mind. For those three years up until her twenty-first birthday, Gaia was in total training mode; she was making sure to completely master everything that she would need to survive as a soldier. And so, when she stepped up to the recruiting office on the day before she turned 21, she knew that she was ready. Gaia Bianchi became a soldier of Ciel, and gained a position within the military almost right away. Despite her cold attitude around the men of the corps, she found herself rising quickly through the ranks—some of the soldiers complained that she was being pushed up by the influence of her father. These soldiers confronted her, and were quickly dissuaded from that idea. It was completely untrue; Ferruco was leaving his hand out of that for sake of his daughter’s pride.

As she rose to different places within this military, she felt herself growing tired of simply defending the Ciel Dominion. She wanted more; she wanted to see the world. Appealing to her Staff Sergeant, Gaia asked to be given a different position. This was a difficult decision to be made, as it required a lot of questioning on the economic benefits of such an idea. Gaia wished to remain beneath the command of the Ciel Dominion, yet also function as a mercenary force, being sold to other countries in order to earn revenue for her forces back home. With this, she would also live on the mainland, away from home for extended periods of time. After much thought, the main think tank at the head of Gaia’s specific force came to a consensus; Gaia would be allowed to hold this position as long as she wasn’t fighting against the will of the Ciel Dominion. Hastily agreeing to this, the now-23 year old Gaia packed her bags and left home, being transported to Carriag and then to Creta via civilian aircraft.

She spent a single year travelling throughout the Cretan lowlands, selling herself to small militia for attacks on certain places within the country; unknowingly assisting in the takeover of the Cretan Government. Each month, a small amount of money was returned to Gelemorte, and they found that she was in fact, profitable. Due to there being no need to support her, once the money used to get her to Creta was paid off, they only ever experience monetary gain. After that year was up, she moved into the more Northern sections of Creta, finally travelling around and resting upon London as a landing spot. Within a week, the 24 year old sellsword was hired by a certain Markus Samaris; and told that she would assist in the takeover of Creta’s Parliamentary building while he assassinated the Prime Minister. Amazed at what she was being paid for this, Gaia took the job immediately, and performed perfectly—the takeover held no kills, and she even managed to hold the central chambers without trying too hard. She sent back a magnificent sum to Gelemorte, and was sent back a letter saying that her parents wished to see her. Accepting this invitation, Markus sent Gaia to Carriag in a plane, where she was picked up by the Gelemortian civilian craft.

She returned to Gelemorte, almost diving into the open arms of Ferruco and Miria; happily married with another daughter, just turned 1. Sola, she had been so named. Gaia spent a month within her home city, before being told that she was to return to the mainland as soon as possible. She spoke her goodbyes; and then caught that fateful plane back to Carriag. However, this time... her destination was Amestris.

ALCHEMIC ABILITY:
Fireworks: Gaia is, for all intents and purposes, a fire-based Alchemist. However, the Alchemy that she herself developed has a weak flame, and is far from enough to cause damage to anything that is doesn’t have an exceptionally low burning point in the first place. While she does snap her fingers and modify the oxygen in the air to cause a flame from a spark, this flame is so weak that few will feel it from a distance. However, it is strong enough to ignite gunpowder; Gaia uses this to her advantage. On her person, Gaia holds several different bags of powdered chemicals, as well as a slightly larger bag of gunpowder. By taking some of the gunpowder as well as small amounts of another powder, Gaia can mix them up in her hand and throw them into the air in front of her, or flick it out from her finger. Once she has done that, a simple Alchemic reaction is needed to create a small, negligible flame. This flame ignites some of the gunpowder, creating a sparking chain reaction between each of particles in the small dust cloud and igniting it all. Depending on the amount used and the thickness of the cloud, Gaia can effectively create fireworks in the air in front of her, or to her sides, or wherever she has the powder. This has little attacking potential; however it has uses as a distraction mechanism, or possibly to injure someone’s eyes by using the powder around their face and igniting it. The fireworks can have a multitude of different colors, noises and effects, depending on which powders Gaia is using at the time. She tends to stick to magnesium for a blinding effect, though this is certainly not the only application. [A full list of powders and specific colors will be included in her transmutation application.]

TRIVIA:
→ Speaks Cerisian, Rouenian (Gelemorte Dialect) and Amestrian (with a thick Cerisian accent) fluently.
→ She can speak and read/understand Cretan almost like a natural, though she is still missing large chunks from her vocabulary.
→ She is in the process of learning Drachman; she can speak it, but only in very broken and difficult ways. Her understanding is almost as flawed.
→ She is deathly afraid of the word “penis” and all things associated with that object, though she won’t reject foreign pleasures.
→ She will not roam dark alleyways without company or a weapon.
→ Her first kill was in self-defence.
→ Her Tsundere nature has gotten her into more than enough trouble, at more than enough places.
→ She wields a gunblade, making her a powerful combatant at both close and long range.
→ If you speak to her slowly, she will slap you and call you an idiot.
→ However, if you speak too quickly, she will slap you as well.
→ She only understands the literal meaning of “fuck”, so if you use it in a sentence, she will take it in the literal context.
→ Her heartbeat at its natural pace is 10 BPM faster than the average human being.
→ Caffiene and sugar have no effects on her; she has abused both too much.
→ The smell of cigarette smoke makes her feel hungry.
→ She prefers the cold over the warmth, though she won’t be picky.
→ It is really obvious when she’s lying, however half-truths can be hidden with ease.

Dai...why June 21...? We already have two characters with that birth date... T_T Why is my birthday so overdone!?

Nice name. -coughKHRcough-

Also, I removed the mature content. I told everyone it's not allowed, remember? You agreed. We ain't getting MDA deleted nor are we promoting it as that kind of site so... yeah.

Like the fire alchemy, but I'm going to put it on the ban list now since Mako is also a fire alchemist. ^^; Now we have too many.
