DESCRIPTION:
→ Kean is a pretty strange looking kid. Even for a 9-year-old boy, he is VERY short, at 2 feet tall and weighs only 23 pounds, about the weight of a chair. His hair is also odd, in that it is bright purple, and although people say it's dyed purple, it's actually his natural hair color. He has light skin, nearly pale and a very thin and lithe form. He has a brown coyote tail that he keeps hidden behind his gray, light trench coat. The coat is specially tailored for his size and drops down to his ankles, ending in curled coattails with red bordering at the edges. The coat is buttoned in the middle and top with brass buttons and tied at the waist with a leather belt. He also gained a habit of sharpening his teeth and nails to keep them in shape and can switch easily from a human stance into that of a four-legged animal. Unfortunately though, Kean's teeth when sharpened have become more brittle than that of normal peoples since the enamel has become stretched. He wears a black shirt under his silver-gray trench coat, which he wears sleeveless. He also wears beige dress pants and sandals, giving him an odd appearance clothing wise. He also wears a watch on both hands with a special solar panel, allowing him to store light energy in the case that he can find none for his alchemy. His voice is very similar to the voice of Anime!Wrath.

PERSONALITY:
→ Kean, as mentioned, has a split personality disorder. So Kean's personality is normally sort of childish and laid back. He is more emotional in this persona and very compassionate. This is pretty accurately his "good" personality. He is nice, kind, caring, loving and gentle and will avoid fighting people that are good. Kean is a pacifist by nature and tends to only fight in self defense, and only with his alchemy. He is very sensitive about his "deformities" which is his definition for his animal half. He hates showing the tail, and retracts his claws. His sharp, jagged teeth are usually all you can see. This is because he thinks that he is a freak of nature and also a mistake on his own part.As well as his good side, this is generally also the human half of him. (In RP, he is represented by normal, white text).

Fang is Kean's other personality. He is the more animalistic version of Kean and you will often know when he emerges because Kean will drop on all fours, allowing his tail to show past his coat, and his normally pale pink eyes will turn cherry red. He is much more aggressive and violent, the opposite of Kean in nearly every way. He rarely talks, normally growling and howling instead. Normally this persona takes over during battle or when Kean is in danger. It only protects Kean, however, because if Kean were to die, it would die too. Though, in all actuality, Kean and Fang are enemies and hate each other. Fang hates life in general and avoids emerging when Kean is with others unless something is in it for him. Also, in Kean's mind, Fang is shown to him as a large, red-brown coyote with a menacing grin and solid red eyes. Interestingly enough, Fang cannot use alchemy, though Kean can. (Fang is represented by red italicized text).

HISTORY:
→ Kean was born on a farm in northern Drachma. He lived with his entire family, a local custom, so he was brought up by his great grandpa, grandparents, parents, and older sister. The first 4 years of his life were relatively calm and nice. Kean's family was nice and pretty pleasant for him. He was taught to do farm work from the time he learned how to walk, though. He helped do smaller chores since he was so young. But, by 5 he was already helping with harvests and planting crops. He especially loved raising the family coyotes, their form of guard dogs. He took care of all of them except for the meanest and most dangerous coyote, Fang. But, he wasn't bothered by that, and lived in simplicity for those 5 years, a bit more than half of his life so far.

But, at 6 he found a book about alchemy in the shed, from when his cousin came back from studies in Amestris. He began studying alchemy and soon learned not only the basic principles, but several advanced techniques. He invented his own style and had his first transmutation circles drawn on his hands in marker. Later, as it improved, he changed his medium from marker to pencil, to pen, and finally to a set of tattoos on his palms. One day, however, he had a brilliant idea to fuse a cow with a chicken to improve his family's egg and milk rate. He made the circle on the ground and was about to unhitch the chicken coop to get the chicken, when Fang prowled by, having broken out of his cage. He chased a now 7 year old Kean into the barn. But, Kean tripped while he and the coyote were in the center of the circle. He landed on the ground with his hand almost touching the edge. That was when his mind went blank, but the last thing he saw was a large animal coming straight for his head. He then felt the HARD impact and lost consciousness. Thinking that the circle had glowed thus activating, Kean woke up after several hours on the barn's floor. He looked around and couldn't see Fang anywhere, or the circle. Then he noticed something bushy and fuzzy near his back. He thought with horror that he now had a tail and went about actually attaching it to the large gash in his back with silver wire that was used for the chicken coop. He had learned how to sew from his grandma and was she quite skilled! After attaching it, Kean was completely convinced he was part coyote. He slumped the rest of Fang's mutilated body over his shoulder and left the barn.

At first, he decided to tell his parents about it. But, since they would be mad if they found out, he began panicking. He decided to do the one thing he would regret for the rest of his life. He would have to fake his own death in order to run away forever. He spent hours creating a somewhat realistic model of himself, filled with hay which he would use alchemy to control as a dummy. Then, a day later, he had the model stumble into the coyote pen. He had stuffed the dummy with meat and cow blood so in the end, the pack of coyotes bit the dummy so badly, his family wouldn't go near it. Finally, while silently crying because he would never see his family again, he fled the scene, running as far as he could go, and taking the last 100 miles by train. He would forever be haunted by what he had done, but now at 9 years old, he was working on a way to reverse engineer the transmutation that creates chimera, in order to become human again or so he thought...

Soon he was in Amestris, and had found a pleasant dumpster in East City in which to occupy his time. He lived his life in an old beat-up RV there, abandoned by fate, and used this place as his playground, his home. He learned how to survive there, eating scraps of food he found, letting Fang hunt for him when he found nothing. This was one of the few times he let Fang take control, although he did so subconcsiously, by his need for food. One day, he was searching for food and came upon a woman by the name of Enrya Silverblood, whom he conversed with for a bit, before they parted ways after a thunderstorm. Then he met a girl by the name of Maya, a winged chimera, as he snuck into her house searching for food. Upon finding nothing, he asked if she needed anything and introduced himself. Soon after, her fiancè, Tracy, showed up. In the end, Maya asked if they could all go out to eat, and after Tracy agreed, Kean got to go with them.

Later on that year, after a long time of his normal routine, Kean decided to make the voyage back to Drachma to check up on his family. But, before making it to St. Petersburg, he was discovered by a band of Drachman soldiers who attempted to apprehend him as a threat to Drachma. After a small skirmish, including a display of his alchemical prowess, he was captured and brought before Czar Loki to determine his fate. Fortunately for him, he was spared punishment, and was instead forced into military training. There he learned how to operate weapons, combat techniques, and such. And thus, from that day on, Kean was a member of the Drachman infantry.
