An Ambush In The Wilderness.

An Ambush In The Wilderness.
A cold breeze blew threw the snow covered area of the northern reaches of Amestris. Alex having been there for a while had begun to think over his decision. Words from his brother running threw his mind as he trekked through the snowy wilderness. ""Shall I tell you the difference between you and I? It's level. It's like the story of the monkey trying to capture the moon. No matter how he struggles, it's just the moon's reflection on the water he sees. So he only sinks into the water. Time after time, he sinks."
" his brother had said this many times and as he looked back it made sense. So many he knew hadn't been able to avenge themselves. He was damn sure gonna avenge his parents. He felt the man he killed hadn't been Kaien and if it had it wasn't the Kaien he knew. He knew that if he was to ever get any as sets he would have to survive and get out of the open.

Re: An Ambush In The Wilderness.
Avila was skipping along after some government job to clear out the pollution, namely oil spill, from the frozen lakes. Whistling since she has done her job, munching on a watermelon, an exposed ripe one until she couldn't chew it. It had frozen. Her teeth barely penetrating the solidified watermelon soft interiors, so she did what every mature person would do -- fling it so high out towards the sky. She was on her way to the city anyways, and she did wear heavy winter clothing. Not like she'd be fined for littering in the wilderness.
"And here I was thinking I'd have some fruits for my medicine. Yes, keep that in mind, maybe I should make some neuropozyne for Automail. NAH, not my level of expertise... maybe... just maybe... oh lookie! A person." Her absent minded thoughts were interrupted when she saw Alex Corde trekking at the distance on the snow.
Queue watermelon falling on top of Alex's head since she flung it too hard.
"Oh snap." She unconsciously snapped her fingers after saying that somewhat loudly. Walking back really slowly, maybe he might not notice her sneaking away, and maybe she wouldn't get a tantrum, MAYBE.

Alex was walking as someone tossed up a watermelon. As the offending fruit hit him he ducked a moment drawing his sword. He then looked at the offending object as he stabbed it with his sword. A watermelon one of his favorit fruits shrugging he turned around as a wolf howled. Suddenly he saw the yellow eyes in the bushes near a women. It was a pack if wolves one animal of which was the most dangerous here. They were gathering to strike and as they ran he ran. She was about to be ambushed and he wouldn't let that happened the wolves converged and he drew out his iPod and gloves. His alchemy would help. But only a little. As he converged he saw that the first wolf had leaped at her aiming for a kill. He then ran forward a wolf attacking him. He let out a grunt as he started his iPod's dog whistle. If he could find the right frequency he could in theory KO them or discourage their onslaught.

Re: An Ambush In The Wilderness.
There some howl that sounded off, Avila naturally curious, turned around to see where it was from. Pulling up the hem of her jacket, she casually pulled out a pistol with her right hand, with some wolves gathering to attack her. Weird, wolves are pacifistic animals that prey upon those that have a food the way... OH CRAP. Now she remembers, or does she? Yeah, she does, she had an exposed half-eaten beef jerky in her pants pocket.
So, she wouldn't give it up no matter what, she bought it, she ate it, she loved it. Aiming the gun towards a wolf that was leaping at her for a kill, holding it sideways, five points for stylishly doing it, she pulls the trigger. Shooting the wolf's head once, it was dead. But it leaped at her, and downed her, because it was still in the air. FOOLISH HER. She would mentally patronize herself over forgetting to step aside. Blast her distracted nature. Forgetting Alex Corde was there though, mostly focused on the wolf.
"Note to self, step out of the way next time." She thought mentally, while on her back on the floor, with a heavy wolf on top of her. Though honestly it felt warm... OH RIGHT, the battle, she waved her gun holding hand around threateningly to aim for one of these wolves, probably one of them. Probably. Hopefully the watermelonhead guy noticed her predicament.

The wolves charged at her one was shot and as Alex tried a simple frequency they looked at him a moment. Some charged at him a tiny cub included. He suddenly decided to take the frequency up and try. As he maxed out the frequency the wolves fell howling in pain. The cub fell unconscious at his feet. The wolves the tuned tail and ran without the cub as he made the sound oscillate. As they turned tail and ran he looked over to the girl on the ground with the wolf on her. He laughed as he moved over to her picking up the cub that was bound to wake up soon. He moved the wolf off of her his sword sheathed and his gloves and iPod put away. He then went up to her and asked. You okay there ms… The cub then woke up and Alex scratched it behind the ears to keep it quiet and happy.

Suddenly all that weight on top of her chest was lessened, as she can breathe more easily, getting up, looking around to see the wolves retreating behind the bushes. Some tune was playing, a siren's call that caused to run away after they were howling madly. Pain? Yeah, pain. Neat. So what caused it?
Probably Watermelonguy before her. Yeah, he looks like he is from some previous era. Sword and all, would be better in a previous age. Perhaps. Probably. Definitely. She imagined his sword to be... to be... wait, it is Aerugese! She knows it now. An Aerugese Katana. Weak sword, high slicing power. So famous from movies and Aerugese manga.
"You okay there miss…"
Oh, he was talking to her. She nodded, pocketing her pistol. "Yep! I am. My vials didn't break, my jacket wasn't tarnished. Couldn't be more groovier." She looks at the cub, and Alex fondling the animal, "Oh neat-o daddy-o, it's an Arctic wolf! Fur is perhaps susceptible to break down from vial, groovy. Too bad I could never get one, too expensive on my paycheck, ethical stuff, then there is also GETA* to deal with. Darn animal lovers! Ruining my experimentation fun, kill joys all of them."
She paused, and nods, "Hi, I forgot my manners. You can call me Professor Jonsdóttir. I was just on my way home until I got attacked by wolves, but that's no big."

"Yep! I am. My vials didn't break, my jacket wasn't tarnished. Couldn't be more groovier."He looked at her a moment her vocab lost to him and he didn't care to find out what any of it meant. He knew yup and that's all he needed. Yea alright then He Than looked at her a little off balanced as she spoke again after a glance of the cub. "Oh neat-o daddy-o, it's an Arctic wolf! Yea alright well Professor Jonsdóttir I guess I should introduce myself. I am Alex Corde nice to meet you now. Why don't we get to a town or something before something else comes. I am not in the mood for a fight after that watermelon slice hit me. he had a scowl as he placed the cub down and it for some reason sat down.

She nods, touching slimy animals can be dirty. Also touching slobbery animals is ALSO dirty. She doesn't want to wash her hands... or did Watermelonguy mean something else entirely? Maybe he did. Probably.

Oho, so he had a name. Alex Corde is so plain to Avila, a bit too mundane to a fruit pie like Corde. Still, she feigns ignorance, better not make it evident she was the one who threw the watermelon at Alex. Lie a bit? Sounds good.
"Of course! Watermelons falling on people's head are common up north, yesiree. Well Capitan, lead the way. Time to hootch and skoodadle outta here yo." She points her finger at the Arctic dog, "Yo Watermelongu-- Alex dude, gonna take that poodle dog with ya meanwhile?"
And so, she was ready to follow Alex Corde to town, for some more adventures, and maybe some warm coco.

Lieing about fruit hitting people really?! Try again and make it believable this time." he scowled a tad pissed at her lieing about something so trivial.
She points her finger at the Arctic dog, and says something while he gives her a look that says it all. "Yo Watermelongu-- Alex dude, gonna take that poodle dog with ya meanwhile?"
"Yea I guess I am I know someone who would love a new pet. Well let's get headed south to town seeing as I just headed out of there not to long ago."he then began to walk to town as a new journey awaited him hopefully this time he could minamize the trouble and stay safe. Luck would have it he wouldn't be so satisfied with his result.

She shrugs when hearing that, "I waaaaaasn't hiding anything, nothing at all. Not lying if that fruit hit your head, it really did."
"Yea I guess I am I know someone who would love a new pet. Well let's get headed south to town seeing as I just headed out of there not to long ago."
And so, after his proclamation, Avila decided, sure, why not follow the guy with the Katana back to North? Odds are, he would beat up a bunch of wolves. Maybe. Following along, one two three and four. Skipping on her legs as she tries not to get some of the snow into her Winter jackboots. It was dreadfully high to reach her calf after all. She didn't like that one bit.
"So where'tcha get'chur Aerugese shiv, hip Corde? It looks mighty finely made, like one of them from the Manga!" She asked, walking behind the male, tagging along, trying to keep her attention on both, Alex and her feet, and talking. Hard to do all of it AT THE SAME TIME. For her at least.

Bullshit though how are you though professor?
he then scowled further as he moved alon the path. He took out his gloves and snapped the blue flames melting a path in the snow. As the grass under it was revealed he shrugged and smiled. The wolf cub still followed him though he stayed back closer to the proffesor as he feared the fire. Alex continued to melt the snow as he reached the end of the melted area. Soon they reached the cliff looking over the town.

Well it's the only thing I had since I was five and the only ties left to my family. But I am putting it away soon for various reasons soon after I return home. But that is a thin view you have their there are many reasons I use my sword. Ranged weapons I can grab from antywhere or just use my alchemy if I have to. Though I can't say I can blame you for your view.

"Bullshit, though how are you though professor?"
There was a pause from Avila. She was baffled by that statement, really baffled. She was called a liar and at the same time, her status was asked for. This guy really confuses her sometimes.
"...Wowza, I was never insulted and asked how I was doing at the same time." She comments, scratching the back of her head, "You are loopy, daddy-o. That was just so ungroovy, yo... but yeah, I am doing better."
She followed along the path yonder, soles soaking in water at the path, going behind Alex. Fascinating, so he was an alchemist that knew how to set things on fire. And from a glove no less! She wondered if she can use that glove, despite not really being learnt of alchemy, whilst the boy before her was much younger, had picked up such a talent at a young age.
She stopped when he stopped, and looked down the cliff to see the town.
"I can see my house from here!" She gasps in her amusement.

But if it got a few answers out of her he would countinue. He kept melting the snow for a while getting tired he left it alone.

“Nice now I can see where to go. Looks like a bar down by that cabin”
She shrugged, she couldn't handle the booze from the bars, so she shall settle for some APPLE JUICE. For apple juice is the greatest juice in the world. So great, she drinks it daily. Besides, she would be dead drunk from drinking just a single weak booze.
"I can't drink the devil's drink! I'll get too dead drunk and not a penny sober, Alex... Alexander? Alex I mean." Proclaims the blonde Northerner woman.
Watching Alex skillfully twirl the sword in delightful fascination, her attention was focused on the sword. It shined well from the light, and was of exquisite design. Pleasing to look at, as if the swords were something of a work of art rather than in fact, just swords. Still, she nodded as if she was observing the weapon.
They probably should be close to the cabin now, which HOPEFULLY has some non-alcohol around to reach for. Nah, not the medical alcohol, those she can stand. She thought about booze alcohol.

She couldnt hold her liquor was an understatement. he then moved along as they got into town. A few people looked at him and more specifically the wolf following him. one person came up to him and said. Wow you actually managed to get a wolf cub. Those wolves have been terrorizing us for years. he then thanked alex who used some silent noise to make the man feel like he was burning. adjusting it so that it would not affect the professor as she was out of range. the frequency was out of his hearing range but he felt some stinging as the guy fell. the effects began to wear off as he walked away shutting off the sound. he then made it to the bar after checking out the cabin. Two bedrooms and bathrooms was nice and perfect for a nap later.

Trot trot and a skip along. Avila wasn't really mindful of what was happening around Corde. There were many... CLOUDS, that were fascinatingly fascinating. It was certainly interesting to note. One was shaped like a blob of cloud even! Coming along behind Alex, inattentive of her surroundings, just moving along by muscles if anything. She was pondering upon how to get rid of those darn clouds, if there was just SOMETHING she can engineer to do that.
Stepping on the guy that fell from Alex's music, as she wasn't really paying attention, all that came across her mind was that awful bump she was on that was groaning ODDLY enough. Coming to a stop before Alex as he was in the bar, stepping in and sitting down on a stool.
"One apple juice, frizzle frazzled with a dose of cinnamon, yo." She orders the bartender.

"One apple juice, frizzle frazzled with a dose of cinnamon, yo." he smiled as the bartender got her the drink. he had a weirded out expression and just moved on to the next customer.he caught an eye of a few customers one of which would be one to avoid in a fight. he was happy he could help but at this point he was about to just leave. he got up to leave and as he did this he started triping over himself. turns out the guy he wanted to avoid fighting had tripped him. taking a bottle from a table he smashed it and tried to stab him with it. this hit him but he sttod and so the fight began. Why did he always get into trouble. He was just drinking come on why did god hate him so. Well as the fight fiished the guy was beaten bloody and Alex had a broken nose.

Avila downed the drink in one gulp, shaking her head as if it was some alcoholic beverage. She turned around when she heard some punches being thrown, and looked over to Alex's way, smiling, amused. The punches were way off, but hey, at least she wasn't being punched at. It was just this one guy who got the butt kicked out of him, and... apparently Corde's nose does not seem like it used to be. Wait, his nose was broken, right, how can she not know that?
So, she got up from her seat, stepped past that bloodied guy, reached for Alex Corde's nose and intended to snap it back into place just like that, just like a boss.
"This is boring, it was so fun for a moment, then you stopped being fun and got boring. DO IT AGAIN!" The blondie could barely contain her excitement, she craved for MORE BATTLES. They were just so random, so variable, so chaotic.

As the fight was over Alex looked at the bloody man. Avilla was coming over damn how he hated to do this. as she made a reach for his nose he slapped her hand down."This is boring, it was so fun for a moment, then you stopped being fun and got boring. DO IT AGAIN!" he muttered. FineDamn it she did ask for him to do it again she never said to who. so drawing back his arm he hit her with an empty palm strike. if it hit it would probably feel like a punch. he would then draw his hand back quickly. he really hoped she didn't expect something more fancy. he was not in the mood to deny someone a fight if they asked it. and she was a women how could he say no. so he hoped he wouldn't get in trouble for this in the end. Things liked this tended to bite him in the ass all the time.

Ouch. That slap felt like a mosquito bite on a mass scale. She cringed from the sting and frowned. "That wasn't nice, you idiot. I don't like this. You suck." THEN, a palm strike clashed against her hip that caused her to squirm slightly, it stung. She felt something shatter, liquid poured to the ground, as it quickly spread to the rest of the room. Her eyes widened as a man who was watching all of this, some bartender, snapped his fingers. IMMEDIATELY, Avila went back.
"SHIT SHIT SHIT!" She went out of the bar running like Hell to wherever, her jacket dissolved into nothing, but her clothing were fine. Intact and all. It's that everyone in the bar wearing garments not made of leather like hers... would be stark naked. And well, she didn't want to be there when that happened. She just ran like HELL, BOLTING to wherever and hoping that Alex won't exactly notice what was shattered was not exactly the best things to shatter... now that he would, technically being closest, would probably be lacking in his apparel, or say clothing. Yeah, holy crap in other words, room with men on high protein diet. Not really an ideal situation.

Re: An Ambush In The Wilderness.
That wasn't nice, you idiot. I don't like this. You suck."
Don't touch my face then especially after a fight.he heard a crack as a liquid poured to the ground. shrugging he heard a man snap. then avilla went back. his sneakers were left alone but his pants started to disappear. Avilla was gone and he ran out as the hot waitress had all her clothing disapear in moments. Avilla was dead if he ever caught her. First he needed pants. the leather lining in his jacket was fine so pulling it together as the last of his clothing disappeared he grabbed a pants and all the other garments he needed from a store. as he got dressed he paid for it with his grant money. He didnt plan to use any but since his wallet was gone in the snow only his grant checks were left. them being in the pocket on the inside of the coat. He left after discarding the leather jacket lining. Wow he was happy he bought that. But soon he left his still tied around his waist by the leather cord. He left to find Avilla and apologize or maybe beat the shit out of her who knows.
