A man in a Colonel's uniform was seated with legs overlapping one another, left over right over the desk in front of him. Leaning back on his chair in his office from A headquarters of the Central Security, just not THE headquarters. Promptly Nikolaus would be holding unto a fruit most scarlet hovering over his pathway to his stomach, also known as a mouth.

It was a somewhat sparse office, plenty of room to move around in, with some cabinets filled with obsolete paperwork, mostly not those concerning Nikolaus, just his predecessor, the previous Chief of Security Corps in Central, that he now inherited. Of course, most of these documents weren't important whatsoever.

Waiting for the new state alchemist to waltz right in, take his badge, part with him words of congratulations, and everyone can be off their merry way as to do their business in a war torn Central City. Whichever it was they did in their merry way.

Dipping the erotic fruit into his mouth, plucking out the handle whilst the strawberry was to grind into a sweet tasty treat that the Colonel swallowed most vigorously. Allured by the taste of the strawberry as it had done well with the pleasant mood he had after he has extracted about a couple of forced confessions from a bunch of profiteers.

War was glorious, and relaxing as well. Though a question that lingers in Nikolaus's mind was that of Raziah Dahl's disappearance, a mystery he hadn't pondered much over, as well as the Sparklebutt case and the case of that woman in the Porsche car. He should do a research on her at a point, maybe later on, pay a visit to Briggs for a check up.

Grazing off what attention he had for contemplative issues as to incline his vision to cover the doorway over the expected alchemist. The room had no light but from the open window with some of the morning sunlight that was behind Nikolaus as Central was suffering from lighting problems. Damned explosions.

Some Alex Corde that is.

A man appeared at an office. He wore a white coat left open revealing he was wear. He looked yo be about 170 cm’s tall. He wears a white coat goes down to about the halfway point between his ankles.. He sports a pair of black jeans as well. He is also wearing a pair of black Vans. The vans were a stark black base with double stitching to keep it together. On the sides were swatches of Red plaid cloth. The sole is a white volconized rubber on the outside covering and on the inside it is a yellowish rubber in a waffle design to keep him grounded and add grip. His hair is in thick dreads going down his back with slightly red. He has several tattoos going up his chest. His tattoos form several things and originate from his past. The first notable tattoo are the stripes. The stripes are black with a lining of white. The second tattoo is of the corde family crest. Another tattoo he has is of four tomoe. It is a Finally he wears white gloves to cover his hands that are made from Xerxian Jade automail. He has a black wakizashi at his side and a xerxian jade katana at his side.
As he entered the office he said nothing but he had an ipod in his gloved hand. He took the headphones and the cig out snuffing the cig and wrapping up the iPod for later. He then began to move towards the desk. He introduced himself as the man named Alex Corde. Having passed his exam with wit and cunning he was to be given a title by the man in front of him. During the test he had been using a combination of his new sound alchemy and fire alchemy. The proctor admitted he was a skilled warrior knowing how to use his advantages and disadvantages. He had taken that in stride and stood at attention as a man ate a strawberry. he awaited the man who was to give him his starting grant and his pocket watch the proof he had made it to the elite alchemists the ones worthy of the title of State Alchemists.

A day with them badges Empty Re: A day with them badges

And so doth the shorty appear before the doorway of congratulatory salutations and promotional advancements. A threshold of what he was, and now that he went past it, is a part of "is". A man in white, an irony to Nikolaus to which he would laugh, hard, at. Why the white getup? To him, it was a sign of purity, white, chastity and all. Alchemists are nothing but human weapons that lack just that -- spiritual chastity. Something he picked up from an Ishvallan book he has been reading lately, a lot. Gaining some sort of fascinations in theological matters of the Ishvallan creed despite being that of Amestrian descent, and wholly Amestrian.

Ah well, at least the guards outside were actually GOOD for something, at least recognizing someone and not stupidly doodling around. Probably.

A bit too flashy anyways to the Colonel to be an Alchemist, as if he was inviting someone to pay attention and keep a barrage of fire in his way. Especially with the white and plaid patterns. White is good in snow and all, but Central is not a place often enveloped in snow. Then again, thinking about it, Alchemists were human weapons, but not soldiers.

Now that he looks aside the fine details to which would make Alex Corde a fruity human rainbow and contemplating most quickly about a few matters...

A huge difference between Alchemists and militants is that one is invested into the alchemical pursuits of the eldritch and unexplored sciences, whereas the other is a military arm meant for martial prowess and practicality for they lack the privilege of lazing about.

Ah, so at least he affirmed his existence as the flashy "Alex Corde". Ah well, just another day to hand out a badge, procedures are procedures, and this guy was kindly enough to put out smoking. Damned temptations, a doctor letting Nikolaus know that he must quit, and this scarcity has had him at somewhat a wit's end.

But nonetheless, he had a minor interest in what would be the Katana and those two miniature ones. They were Aerugese, but to him, but a hype that is often shared by Werugese as they are called. Some interest as if they were practical and all. Smiling, albeit subtly as he eyed his sword he wore at his belt, sheathed in the scabbard.

Letting his legs part backwards as to insert underneath the desk instead of over it, he reached for the paperwork from the folder he had on the desk's top, looking at it, sneaking a glance or two at the shorter man before him. Before setting it down, along with a pen, twisting it backwards as for Alex Corde to read the fine print, an agreement, and the sign of all state alchemists set next to the pen; the silver pocket watch.

Finally sternly, and as well jovially looking at the Alex Corde, not really recognizing the fact he was of the Corde family, they weren't really noteworthy to Nikolaus, and so the crest struck him oblivious to what it represented to be for.

"Congratulations, wielder of the arts!" He claps, straightening his posture, "Major Alex Corde, you have become, a state alchemist. Well, you are a Major once you sign the contract anyways."

He prods at the pen, continuing, "Woohoo for you! Feel proud, not many get your spot and pass the test as young as yourself." There was a brief pause, "The only one younger than yourself was in the history past... some Edward Elric, whom was really young by the way, but lost his alchemy in the end, and his arms and legs but gained that back, and has suffered a very terrible fate of human transmutation where he brought back an inhumane abomination, but we'll leave that aside."

He claps again and again, pointing at Alex Corde and winking, "Alright then, that aside, just sign this paper here as I elaborate upon your fine place as a member of the elite program of state alchemy..."

Shaking his head, pulling out a notepad from the confines of his pockets, he reads as follows, "Rule number one, obey the military. Now that you are a Major, it means NO disobeying of superiors, or doing any hanky panky such as fraternization with other military members, but it is fine if you fraternize with those outside the military, they are fair game."

And so his eyes drift to the secondary paragraph, "Rule two? That's really the simpler one, don't make gold, you'll screw the economy, that, and you are being paid anyways A LOT. I don't see a point in you making yourself any richer than you are anyways. But those are research funding, NOT your own personal salary."

Finally, he looks upon the final passage in the notepad written with Nikolaus's handwriting, "Rule number three? Just don't indulge in human transmutation. Of course, that goes without saying. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, if you do, just run to me, and I MAY help lessen your sentences if you partook in this most... morbidly fascinating yet forbidden practice."

He flings his notepad behind him at the open window, which promptly lands in a shrub at the gardens outside, leaning closer to Alex Corde, pointing at the contract, at the empty line where signature is meant to take place, "Now sign here, and you may take the silver pocketwatch, but NOT THE PEN, that's mine. I paid for it out of my subordinate's salary. And afterwards, off you go, or if you have questions, ask, or forever make your peace."

Reclining his hand, he waits for the signing to commence, for Alex Corde to feel proud, or whatever State Alchemists feel when they become State Alchemists, and be off on their merry way to make research and submit the annual reports to the government.

"Oh! And I almost forgot." Opening the drawer, Nikolaus places the handbook of rules for state alchemists in front of the desk opposite of Alex, a somewhat bulky yet portable hand book of rules, "This is the rulebook of what you aren't allowed to do as a state alchemist, rules, regulations, et cetera, et cetera."

Alex looked at the man signing the contract after reading it. He understood and as he took his items he listened to what the man had said"Congratulations, wielder of the arts! Thank you with that he walked out never to return here again as far as he was concerned.
