DESCRIPTION:
→ When describing Hua Peizhi’s appearance, word that may often be used are ‘vibrant’, ‘flowery’, and ‘graceful’. While the latter wouldn’t be used so much for her personality, her movements certainly reflect it. Peizhi has a certain elegant air to her that she can’t get rid of, being of noble stature and being raised as such. Her movements in her martial arts flow like water and dances like flower petals in the soft spring breeze. When she is simply walking down the street or running swiftly across the rooftops of Beijing, one cannot ignore the way she steps so lightly, as if she was walking on air. Her deep, russet brown hair is a medium length, that only reaches her her neck, but is kept longer in the front, long enough to reach past her shoulders. along with her shorter bangs that barely extend to her eyes. Her shining, bright eyes, perhaps her most captivating and appealing feature, are coloured a beautiful shade of earthy brown, and seem to glimmer with her lighthearted cheer and playful expression.
As a young woman coming of age, Peizhi is well endowed and proportioned in terms of her figure. An acceptable height for a Xingese female, actually taller than the majority of her peers, Peizhi appreciates her height as a suitable standard for her martial arts, being tall enough to have reach to her strikes, whilst being small enough to move about swiftly. She has a somewhat curvaceous figure, a slim, hourglass shape most girls desire, along with a rather buxom and perky breasts by Xingese standards, though they would probably be considered a normal size in a country like Amestris. Another attractive trait of hers that stands out are her long, shapely legs and her thin waist and flat stomach with a strong center. While she does possess muscles, being the martial artist she is, they are not very large, nor do they stand out too much, but such is the nature of her style, which calls for very flexible and quick movement, not overwhelming strength.
Peizhi typically wears, well, whatever she pleases. Being the daughter of a Xingese nobleman, she actually has a very large wardrobe of fashionable wear, from traditional and ceremonial Xingese dresses, to chic modern clothing scene in high end shopping district windows, and everything in between. Most of her clothes have bright colors, floral patterns, and Xingese style, in common with each other, and most of time, prefers shorts for her outfits, or informal Xingese dresses that are about short wear length. This is because she prefers their better movement and flexibility, as she is not too fond of the more traditional Xingese dresses that restrict the movement to such a degree that even walking in a brisk pace is unthinkable, though, unfortunately, their are certain cases where she must wear them for formal events her family must attend as nobles.

PERSONALITY:
→ Peizhi isn’t that different from any other teenager; rebellious, free-spirited, youthful, and just a bit credulous and light hearted. She’s mostly a kind and well meaning person, but she hasn’t really found her place in life yet, not really too in touch with some of the more serious things in the world, not familiar with the constant conflict and strife in life, or the grinding poverty of some places, even in Xing. She is rather ignorant of the world around her in many ways, as she is usually more concerned with frivolous things like her appearance, clothes, boys, hanging out with friends, her petty family issues, and just having fun in general. Despite this, she isn’t actually all that shallow, and is rather open minded to new things. She is pretty spirited, and tends to be very enthusiastic about things when she is having fun. Always carefree, Peizhi puts her all into enjoying what she can, even though she rarely takes the time to relax and take a breathe, being as hasty as any teen. She is quite compulsive and whimsical, her decisions and actions reflecting that when she gets caught up in the moment, or absorbed in anything entertaining. Being the free spirit that she is, Peizhi is very flighty and isn’t the most serious or responsible person, and actually prefers to avoid any responsibilities or hard work whenever possible. The only thing that could really motivate her to do something difficult, would be the desire to prove her worth and ability, something that stemmed from her childish attempts to impress her father and prove her mother wrong. She is very optimistic, always looking on the bright side of things, and as such, she can be quite fine, as she always tries to cheer up her friends when they are feeling depressed. Cheerful and a bit sporadic, Peizhi likes to play around and joke about things, often telling a funny lie (funny to her at least), just to conclude with a “Just kidding”, along with a playful expression.
On the flip side, Peizhi is actually a well learned person from her enriched education from being in such a wealthy family that could afford such. Her educational background focuses on Xingese tradition, history, and culture, thought she disregards a lot of it as boring. She is well learned in martial arts, in techniques she learned from scrolls as well as her bodyguard. She enjoys learning the art very much, but tries to avoid tough training and get on with the fun parts of it, which is why she lacks physical strength in comparison to her skill and speed. Peizhi is somewhat spiritual, as she has studied the principles of yin and yang, of nature, and of the dragon’s pulse, for both her alkahestry and her martial arts, and because of this, enjoys simple things just as much as she enjoys the bigger things in life. She is content with herself, but as she is leaving her adolescent youth, it is nearly time for her to decide what she truly wants out of life.

HISTORY:
→ Peizhi. The name given to a small child, frail and weakly when she was born much earlier than what is medically appropriate. It was the mother's shame as she had Alkahestrists hired to use obsolete methods to ensure that what would come out is a son. Instead, they got a daughter, which is the shame of the mother to this day. Yet the father was fine with it, in his joking remark as always, he would say, "He'll try again" and make a son come out instead.
He was always satisfied and content with himself, and something of a real father to Peizhi, whereas the mother was a haughty and pompous woman that has traditionalist and sexist attitude towards the many fine matters of life. That she would neglect and belittle Peizhi at every opportunity she got, and was careless of what activities her father had done.
Whereas her father was a noble soul, as noble as the title he held as the Lord of a County. Ruling pragmatically, not kindly or harshly, but neutrally. The people of the land didn't mind him, didn't love him or hate him. They were fine with him as a Count. Their lot in life wasn't so bad, and they were more keen on counting their blessings in the plains.
Whereas Peizhi herself, she saw herself more attached to her father than anything else, whereas her mother had belittled and degraded her, until outright held her in indifference as if she didn't exist. Peizhi herself having gained a little brother as attention was drawn towards him, leaving her lonely and free to go through pursuits to getting attention from her father, whom had succeeded in his original mission of procuring a son.
In the vast estate, there were many things to do, most of the fun mediums were restricted to the son as her mother had ordained, and not to let her daughter get close to them. That she must learn to be womanly, nothing more than an asset to be used in marriage whereas the father didn't exactly agree, but didn't intervene either.
Conducting his affairs as he does his family life -- with laissez faire. So she did something to rebel, that she had begun making her servants, which was one, which is surprising considering her little brother had as many as fifty, that she ordered her one servant to address her as prince. That she went around trying to "man-up" enough to take upon the reins of leadership as the matriarch.
That she wore a mix of male and female garbs on herself. In time, after countless scolding from her mother, she had become content with being a princess instead. Though unsatisfied over how she was treated little, that she wasn't shown love save for the rare quips of proudness from her father.
That her learning how to speak old Xingese, and learning how to read old Xingese scripts, had made her father happy over her potential and devotion to scholarly interests... yet it wasn't enough. It wasn't befitting the man's typical toughness in physical pursuits, that she had decided she would prove she is far better than her brother, Kuei. He was already an accomplished martial artist, much to the delight of her mother and father, and was a favored one in the Imperial courts as Head of the Royal Library. An esteemed position that would mark him as fairly learnt and quite intelligent. That not everyone is able to attain it.
She decided, she will do better, she would out do her brother, and she would rub it in her mother's face that she was no shame, but the greatest thing around, and she would have none of the glory, only her father. Whom had treated her well enough. That she consistently requested him to send her a teacher for the martial arts, and to teach her how to read the dragon's pulse, perhaps even teach her Alkahestry.
That it was just recent that her father had come back with a man with vague features and constantly shaded face to serve as a servant in the household. To her, he was nothing but a stranger, and his glances given were more of a threatening glare to whomever passes by. A scowl was permanent on his features for the first few weeks, that eventually he would after the departing of her little brother, be assigned to serve Peizhi.
From one servant, comes to be two in the form of this man, whom by then, had lost his scowl. Only restrained to a fairly neutral expression that indicates he has come to bear with his current station in her father's household.
From her teenage years, she was rather inclined to spend as much time away from the household as possible. Her mother was getting more restless than ever putting Peizhi down whilst the father is less and less around. His appearances a rarity of sorts that lessened.
She was getting stricter and more harsher in her conduct after all. And Peizhi would rather spend her days in the pleasant company of friends, whom are from town, at a lower standing, but are good friends. Some were even immigrants from the great desert, Ishvallans and all. Spending her days yonder buying from shops what she fancies, as well as mystical scrolls which are really paints of martial arts technique.
And finally playing around with her friends and coming home often late. Her servants would follow suit, a masked man along with an unmasked one. They would be tending to her whims and needs, the unmasked one anyways, whereas the other one is quiet if not weird. His mask certainly scared away any potential trouble makers as those who spoke old Xingese muttered weird phrases.
It was in a repeat of those days that her mother had her sent away from her friends to a match maker, an esteemed one, to get her married as soon as possible, not to just anybody, but to the Emperor himself. The matchmaker was the one that tends to the Royal whims and needs for wives and concubines, so far getting only requests for wives though.
Peizhi was one of them, hating the fact she had to wore such constricting dresses, with warming robes that makes her sweat. And she had to learn the proper conventions of the court, that she decided in her free time, might as well learn something else to ease her mind off. Her family needed a man, and she was to prove she was better than her brother, whom is versed well in martial arts.
Imitating the scrolls she took from earlier, practicing them in what little free time she has, with courtly tutoring and time spent with her friends, wasn't a lot. It would be a matter of time though that the masked one had tended to her. Had decided, after watching her with a distaste of her sloppy movements, to help her in attaining what she wants.
He let her know she did it all wrong, and instead gave her Hell in that little time. Having to do exercises that strained her extremely, which made her exhausted with now more ordeals. But in the end, it was only her want to be better than her brother she got good.
Though an opportunity came for her, that now as a potential suitor to the Emperor himself, she had access to something she hadn't known about before, to study it. Alkahestry in martial applications. With training from her masked tutor, she combined it with that from an Alkahestrist to learn pressure point fighting, which the masked one thought a waste.
Secret from her mother of course. As it was such unladylike convention for a noble like her. Less and less time was spent with her friends, and once again it resurged after all the training. Now she had time. Now she gained the skills, and learnt her self-worth. Becoming esteemed. Becoming better and not a defenseless girl anymore. She wasn't gonna take anyone of that.
When she came out to her mother and father of her skills, her mother scorned at the very idea, whilst her father had given a hearty laugh and expressed his pride in her ability. Further inflating her sense of worth as she had gained something her mother had tried so hard to put down -- confidence.
