MISSION: Defense
Tsune hesitated before the door, his fist hovering above the heavy wooden surface. It was his first time being in East Head Quarters and he was already meeting the Brigadier General. He bit his lip and tried to tune out the faint explosions sounding in the background. The more he waited, the more prospects for casualties. But still... he didn't even know this guy. Apparently Brigadier General Spencer Mori was calling a team together to combat the rebels and prevent the fortress from being destroyed. It was a good plan, but Tsune had no handle on this city. He was lost just standing there.
He was wearing his pristine military uniform that he had only adorned a few times before and it wasn't very comfortable...yet. But luckily the sleeves were long and covered his Automail arm, preventing unnecessary questions about it. On his hands--like always--he was wearing his black gloves with his own fashioned alchemic circle. He even had managed to get his long, silver, and untamed hair into a professional-looking ponytail. Everything was prepared, but the fact that he had to walk in the door. He stared down blankly at the scuff on one of his black boots and sighed.
After a few seconds of standing there, he finally had built up enough nerve to knock lightly on the door. And the sound reverberated loudly in his mind like someone had just thrown a pan at his head. But silence followed... He suddenly became frustrated. Seriously if no one had heard that or if no one was in there he would kill them all. He kicked loudly at the door, glaring at the too-shiny handle. Now open it dammit!

Re: MISSION: Defense
Spencer sighed and went to open the door. As he opened it, he saw a man standing there. He looked the guy over. Long white hair, military uniform, alchemic gloves. He glanced down uncertainly at the name he had scribbled on his hand in pen. "Tsune...Hitotose, I presume?" He asked, trying to sound official and hoping he hadn't mispronounced the name. He supposed the guy looked friendly enough, but meeting new people wasn't exactly great for his anti-social personality. He couldn't believe this whole thing with the rebels was happening in the first place. It was the worst possible time. Of course, for him, any time was the worst possible time for this. He cringed as more explosions sounded. God, I hate explosions. They're so damn loud. He glanced back up at Tsune. "Come on in," He said, opening the door wider so the guy could come inside. From what he'd heard, this guy should be able to help him out a bit, which was good. Spence had never had any major problems in the time he'd been in charge in the East, and violence wasn't really in his nature, so he'd need all the help he could get. And more.

Re: MISSION: Defense
Xanthus Icarus rode calmly through the ranks of the Rebel troops on his massive black horse with a small unseen grin and a slight chuckle. The reason that no one could see his grin was simple; Xan was wearing a mask. In fact, he was wearing a mask that covered his entire face, which was indeed the point of his bothering to wear one at all. In an effort to remain anonymous, Xan was also wearing a long trench coat, a pair of black gloves, and a pair of boots, slacks, and a semi-formal style shirt. All of his clothes were black, except for the white mask and white tie he was wearing. In other words, he looked like an evil mastermind version of an ANBU with a sense of fashion similar to Agent Smith combined with Neo from The Matrix.
Perfect.
The Rebels had assembled here in East City in mass numbers, obviously readying for an attack on the city. Xan had seen this as a perfect opportunity to test himself in massive military combat, so he traveled to their ‘secret’ gathering point.
Finding it had been child’s play, since the idiots were practically advertising their location. What had not been child’s play was obtaining a position of such importance that he could command the Rebels to do his bidding in this battle.
Actually, it had been even easier. Xan had gone to the ‘Leader’ of the Rebels, and offered information in return for a simple thing. He wanted to be the tactician for the Rebels for this battle. The man listened to Xan’s ideas, theories, tactics, and strategies, and was completely convinced that this strange masked man could lead to the downfall of the East City HQ.
And now, here he was; walking through the crowd that had gathered as a sort of ‘bodyguard unit’ for their leader, while the other Rebels were either charging in like the pawns that they were, preparing themselves to act out Xan’s will, or they were here, protecting their precious ‘Leader.’
If only any of them could see that the true threat did not come from the Amestris Military. For as soon as the battle turned ill for the Rebels, Xan himself would personally destroy this entire ‘bodyguard’ unit, and be hailed as a new hero…
And so, I shall go to war with Amestris….if only for a little while.
Approaching the so called 'leader', Xan advised him to continue bombardment for a little while longer. It would be quite a while before the main charge could be initiated.
Perfect.

Re: MISSION: Defense
Spencer glanced nervously out the window. "It sounds bad," He commented, shaking his head slightly, "I guess the battle is inevitable now, eh?" He wasn't sure how he should handle this. He could very well be killed. Of course, he didn't plan for that to happen; he'd protect himself the best he could, but he also had other lives in his hands, too. Other soldiers who would be counting on him to protect them. It scared him. He didn't want to let them down but, odds were, that Eastern Headquarters would have at least a few less soldiers by the time this was over. He supposed the most he could do was try to save as many as possible, even if that number was less than he'd originally planned. He glanced up at the soldier across from him, Tsune Hitotose. He had to admit, he felt a bit safer knowing there would be at least one other State Alchemist on his side.

Blake opens up the door to the Brigadier Generals office. He looked and saw Spencer. " I was told to report to you. Blake obviously know he was a was higher rank than him Saluted. Blake noticed the other State Alchemist. Blake was kinda scared as this would be his first offical battle. He was partially scared but also almost exicted , he wanted a taste of battle. He was scared though at the thought of death. What would his Sister and Father do with him dead and his Mother missing. He can't die. He promised himself and them he will not die. He intends to keep his promise to himself and his family. Blake's eyes stray out the window of the office to notice the smoke among other things out in the distance. He got a chill down his back as he was sure someone died in it he felt alittle bit bad.

Spencer nodded at the new comer. "At ease," He said with a slight smile. He looked the guy over. He looked to be slightly older than Spencer himself, but not by too much. From what Spence could tell, the guy appeared to be a good enough soldier. Respectful to superiors, which was obvious from the salute, caring for human life, as could be told from the way he looked at the smoke outside. It looks as if we're getting a pretty good team together here, Spencer thought, glancing back at Tsune. We may just be able to win this thing. He didn't even want to imagine what would happen if they lost. The casualties would be numerous. He decided not to think about it, because he wasn't going to let it happen, anyways. A group of rebels, not matter how organized they may be, were no match for the Eastern branch of the Amestrian military, right?

Re: MISSION: Defense
"Yes, that's it," Tsune replied to the mention of his name and bowed formally with a friendly smile. "It is very nice to meet you and serve under you Brigadier General Spencer Mori." He stood back up straight and walked into his office rather casually instead of stiffly as most people probably would have done in such a situation. Why on earth was this going so slow? If it were up to him, Tsune would already be out there taking care of the damn explosions! Well, he guessed that was how things worked; plans were a necessary part of winning...sometimes. When Spencer spoke again, once they had entered the office, Tsune raised an eyebrow. Inevitable? ...It was more than inevitable! It was happening now! Tsune opened his mouth to comment on this, but luckily the door opened and he was stopped from saying something that probably would have been out of line. All this waiting was grating on his nerves and he was losing focus and respect because of it. Very unlike him.
He looked up to see a soldier enter the room and to Tsune, he looked nervous. By the way he was eying the smoke it seemed he had no intention to die, but instead to save the people who may have been caught up in that. He concluded that he would watch over this one in the fray. Tsune looked over at Spencer now and frowned visibly. Come on let's get this show on the road already! Anyone who is late can join the ranks later... we need to stop this right now before people die. He finally decided to open his mouth, and it was with a abnormally calm voice that surprised even him. "General, if I may suggest something... I believe it would be in our best interest to move in fast and catch them by surprise before further damage is done." Tsune stared straight at the one who was only a few years older than himself with strong steel blue eyes that indicated that he was not about to yield. But below, with his Automail hand, Tsune was playing with the chain of his state pocket watch, fiddling nervously.

Re: MISSION: Defense
Spencer nodded thoughtfully. "I think you're right," He said, his voice sounding stronger than he felt. "I'll go gather up the soldiers that are already here. You two stay here. I'll be back soon and when I get back, we need a plan. If we go out there without one and just start shooting then..." He swallowed nervously. "People will die. While I'm gathering up the soldiers, the two of you can discuss a plan if you want for things to move more quickly." He stood up and smiled slightly at Tsune. He probably would have stayed there frozen all day if the other State Alchemist hadn't spoken up, to tell the truth. He was nervous. Sure, he'd gone through simulations of wars in the Military Academy, but, God, nothing could have prepared him for this. This was huge. He walked to the door and put a hand on the doornob, pausing to to see if either of the soldiers had anything to say.

Re: MISSION: Defense
Tsune smiled reassuringly, walking over to the other state alchemist and putting a hand on his shoulder. "Good luck General, and don't worry; we can do this together. It will succeed." He nodded and pulled the door open for him, his blue eyes now ablaze with determination and trust for the man he was now serving under. "We'll wait here for you." Tsune grinned and then darted to the desk that happened to be stacked with fresh paper. He pulled a sheet of it down and found a pen in one of the drawers. He then began to draw the basic outline of East Head Quarters. This was where he would begin to establish a plan with the other soldier. This was what teamwork was about. Even if Spencer hadn't thought of a plan on his own previously, well then, Tsune would just have to help him. And they would together conger up the most effective plan that would succeed.
"Your name?" He asked, turning briefly from his work to make eye contact with the soldier.

Re: MISSION: Defense
Xan brought out a canteen of water and poured about half of it on the ground. The troops around him gave him quizzical looks, wondering why anyone would simply pour out half of his personal water supply seemingly at random.
They got their answer when Xan snapped his fingers and the water floated upward until it was level with Xan’s torso, then arranged itself like a chess set. Moving the water around with his alchemy, Xan eventually had the water board arranged as he wanted it to be arranged.
The board looked like a chess board made of water, with clear squares and murky squares, which had been the purpose of him dropping it on the ground. Likewise, half of the pieces were murky, and the other half were clear. Instead of being normal pieces, each piece was equipped with weapons and armor. A medieval battle diagram chess set made of water.
As the battle progressed, Xan would be moving each piece accordingly. As was appropriate, the Rebel leader was represented by the clear King, while Spencer Mori, the Brigadier General who led the eastern forces, was represented by the murky King.
As was appropriate, the pawns from either side had been mostly dispatched, and were now dueling each other with swords, but were for now at complete stalemates.
However, the clear rooks seemed to be going right around the pieces unopposed….
Now what could that mean?
The eastern forces weren’t going to like this little surprise…
At a few words from the masked Ishvalan, the Rebel leader ordered his troops to prepare the first wave of attackers. The true battle was about to begin.

Re: MISSION: Defense
" I am Blake Styen " Blake replied to Tsune. " Lets get down to buissness. " Blake said as he moved up his glasses then pulled a map off the wall and put the map down on the table. " Sorry for the inpoliteness , i just really want to get out there whats your name? " Blake felt to make sure his Pistol was still there and it was. He put both his hands on the table and leaned over it looking at the map Blake pulled out a marker to start with the plans. He looked up at Tsune. Blake moved the hair out of his eyes and waited for a reply from Tsune. He looked back out the window towards the smoke though his mind went back to those people. Then a sudden rage went through him the urge to kill atleast some of the those bastards who did that

Re: MISSION: Defense
"Blake. Sounds good." Tsune nodded with a smirk. He liked this guy; this was his kind of guy. Straight to it! "Aa, sorry, I assumed since the General knew...You can call me Tsune, but so you don't get confused, some in the Military call me Raiu--state title." He laughed as the other pulled the map off the wall and then he tossed his pathetic attempt at a drawing (it was actually pretty good) onto the floor. Well, now that that was settled. It was a state emergency, so screw the damn wall-hangings! Blake was using his head, perfect. Tsune watched the marker and then began to indicate what he did know. "Well, if we start here and they attack here..." And then the plans continued and soon, they had a relatively decent outline. Tsune was ready to go, and he could tell that Blake was fuming. General get in here!!

Re: MISSION: Defense
Spencer arrived back a few moments later. "The soldiers are ready to attack at any time, we just need some positions. Did the two of you come up with anything while I was gone?" He carefully studied their faces. Tsune looked almost worried while Blake just looked pissed off. He wondered if he'd done something wrong. He wasn't very good at war plans, since it wasn't really in his nature to be violent. It seemed like he was doing a pretty shitty job at the whole war thing so far, but at least he could count on these two guys to help him out, if they didn't end up killing him out of annoyance. He sighed. All he was doing here was prolonging the inevitable, they needed to get this battle started before there were any more citizen causalities. He glanced briefly at the map on the floor, and a spark of hope rose up in him. Maybe they had managed to get some planning done in the short time he'd been gone! If so, they were better than he'd thought.

Re: MISSION: Defense
A sudden shout rings forth from the Rebel army. The first wave of attackers have been unleashed upon the garrison, with orders to destroy whatever stood in their way. The masked Ishvalan smiles and tells the second wave to prepare itself, for as soon as the first wave is done, the enemy might become bold and decide to counter-attack.
Two clear pawns advance and head toward the enemy King. (Spencer’s position) {Eastern HQ} The two clear rooks have stopped moving, and appear to be in front of the King, but the enemy chess pieces (Amestris Army) do not seem to notice their presence…
Xan grins again, this time with a more evil look behind his mask than usual. His messengers have been keeping him well informed of the progress of the battle and so far, he has not heard too many bad things. If this was the power of the strongest offensive force in the nation, then the nation was in dire need of a change.
Brigadier Spencer Mori, the White Ice Alchemist. I have not heard much about you except for your name and your abilities…Let’s see what the Leader of the Eastern forces has up his sleeves, shall we?

Re: MISSION: Defense
"Yeah we did!" Tsune smirked with an excited gleam in his eyes. Motioning to the map and pointing at things occasionally, he began to explain the battle plans he and Blake had come up with. They had figured to send the army under their command in waves. The first wave would take out the main force and then the next wave would be sent in to take care of the rest. A third wave would act as a defense unit and guard the wall they were trying to breach. Once he was finished explaining that tactic, he flipped long silver hair back over his shoulder and sighed. He really wasn't that great at battle tactics, but he had high expectations. Chess on the other hand...he was unbeatable. He hoped his ideas for the game worked in real life. Only, pawns were to be sacrificed, but Tsune honestly hoped that none of them would lose their lives... "While the first wave is attacking, I will try to take out the one pulling the strings."

Re: MISSION: Defense
((I was waiting on Blake, too. I don't know where everyone else who signed up is. We need to PM all of them and tell them to get with the program, or poor Xan will have to do a lot of extra role playing. He's the only rebel so far. xD))
Spencer looked the map over and nodded thoughtfully. "That sounds like a good plan." Setting the battle up like a chess board was a good idea, too. It made everything look so much simpler. He was a decent chess player, he'd played a time or two against Air and beat her. He was, at least, better at chess than he was at battle tactics. He actually understood how to play chess, and as long as he saw it as a chess game, he wouldn't freak out over the soldiers who were trusting him with their lives. Oh, look, he thought, wanting to face palm right there, but deciding against it, now I'm freaking out again! He was worried about this, he wasn't going to lie. So many people depending on him. He had people's lives on his hands, dammit! Chances were, he would let more than a few of them down. There was no way around it; people were going to die. He glanced back up at Tsune. "How do you plan to attack whoever it may be that will be pulling the strings?" He asked, mostly to take his mind away from the dark thoughts he was thinking. He needed to be sure that Tsune knew what he was doing before allowing him to attack someone so potentially dangerous.

Re: MISSION: Defense
Xan rode ahead of the second wave, to look at the battle unfolding before him with his own eyes. It was going to be a glorious battle indeed. Even the top offensive force in Amestris was just a force made of mortals, and mortals, as Xan was so painfully aware, could be killed if you put enough bullets into them.
The Ishvalan watched with no emotion on his face, reflecting the look that his mask sent forth to the world. What did he care if a few soldiers of Amestris were destroyed? True, their deaths rang as things to be mourned, but he could not allow such things as emotion to interfere with his mission. Their sacrifices would not be in vain.
The alchemist urged his horse to move forward, throwing a scroll to the Rebel leader. When the leader asked what was in the scroll, Xan replied that his tactics were in that scroll in written form, and that if the leader applied them correctly, victory would belong to the Rebels.
When asked for his name, the Ishvalan replied with an ominous, yet somehow cheerful tone…
My name is Zero or Typhon. Remember them both well, for this isn’t the last time that you’ll be hearing them!
And with that, Zero rode out to the battlefield, catching up to the second wave that was marching in to join the first. Zero was hoping to orchestrate the battle from inside the front lines, rather than by the leader’s side. After all, things were about to get…..messy.
And now, this battle is about to get interesting.
Zero could see the battle going on in front of him, and suddenly his pulse quickened. He returned the water of the board to his canteen, deciding that now would be the time for careful tactics made on the fly, not creating a simulation with water.
The battle was getting closer…Xan drew his double bladed sword and yelled at the top of his lungs as a rallying cry for the men. He said:
Come on men, let’s kick their asses! For the glory of the Rebels!
Crude, but effective. The men already fighting with Amestris redoubled their efforts. Those not engaged in combat roared with a new bloodlust and joined with ferocity. Xan /Zero himself prepared his sword to create the pressure blades.

( sorry been very lazy lately plus when i did post didnt accept it lol ) Blake breaks out of his gaze. " Oh sorry sir. " He says as he looks over at Tsune and Spencer. His eyes slowly gaze back at the smoke. He looks back at the commanding officers. Blake then says " Sir , I like your plan but i say instead of sending in he 2nd unit to finish them off we send them in as a flanking unit, they will be caught off guard , possibly save more men in the process and allow us further recontrol of the city Sir. " Blake said to Tsune and Spencer. He pointed to the map and showed the posistion the men should go. " If we engage at sunset which is in a few minutes , we should flank from the west as the sun sets that way which will blind them while they shoot , its a old tactic but has proven useful many times before. Re: MISSION: Defense
Everything stopped. Darkness raised. Sun were black as hell, and somehow, the air were feeling heavy. Shadows started to take control of the area, and suddenly, a man appeared to the area. He had white eyes, like some demon. Pure white grin, revealing insane madness. The eyes were checking the area, stopping at a man. Mostly known as Xanthus. The man, started to walk. The eyes were moving closer, and closer. All the time. The eyes closed, and mouth were still there. Suddenly even mouth disappeared and after few seconds.. It happened.
The man were infront of Xanthus. He had been moving so slowly, that even little Tap werent heard. He grinned, and the shadows disappeared. This man, were wearing a long jacket, hat like Urahara Kisuke, and a scarf. Man threw the jacket away, revealing two .357 Magnums, about four butterfly knives, and some hidden knives, also. He also had a mask on his chest. As the last shadow disappeared the man closed his eyes. He put his hands behind his head. After three seconds, the scarf fell to ground. "Well.. Hello." The man said to this "Xanthus".
The man were Jacques, Pride. "Are you Rebel, or militant?" He asked, calmly, showing no expressions. He took the mask from his chest, and were holding it. It were simple mask, with nothing strange. White colour, and black eyeholes. There ya go.

Re: MISSION: Defense
"Ah," Said Tsune with a complex look etched into his eyes. He reached over and patted Blake on the shoulder next to him. "Right, I forgot to mention that. It's because when I actually thought more about it... they will be the ones with the west behind them. This is East Head Quarters, thus we are the ones facing west and the setting sun," Tsune finished with a laugh in his voice. It would have been a great tactic if they had been at West Head Quarters. Tsune flicked out a pair of sunglasses from his pocket and put them over his eyes with a smirk. "I'm set. And General, first, by finding them, and by then it'll already be checkmate." He slid his sunglasses down to wink and then slid them back up. With a wave he opened the door and headed into the hallway, turning back briefly. "Let's win this."
