People were everywhere, all around her. They were moving and flowing forward and to the side, heading to whatever their destination was. They never seemed to stop and just.... well, stop. Stop being attached to their various technological devices, their couches, their things. It was dizzying and yet full of wonder to Catalina. So many bright lights, so many smells and things that she'd never seen before until she had joined the military seven years ago. And it was still as fresh and new and...well frankly confusing, as it had been then. She knew that she would never get used to it.

Right now she was off duty and wandering around per usual since she knew it was best if she saw more of this "outside world" and its ways. So she was out! ...and had no idea where she was. For the moment she was outside of the main city, wandering around a rather strange district. She was wearing her tribes clothes and per usual, she was getting stares of various kinds. Some she could tell were of confusion, some of judgment, and some.... She wasn't quite sure what look it was, but it came from men and she wasn't sure that she liked it. There was a certain... hunger to it. Then again, she had also seen various other girls in-- What was that word again? Right, scanty clothes as well. Yet they also looked like they were wearing outfits that any other might in this day and age. She sighed heavily as she made her way towards the docks, shaking her head at her flat-out confusion. She really never would understand how things were here.

It took her about fifteen to twenty minutes to arrive, choosing to ignore the station. She didn't have to go in there. She didn't have to put on that stuffy uniform or carry around those boom-boom sticks. She did have her dagger in it's sheath that was strapped to the inside of her fur greaves, her dark eyes glancing from the water front to one of the taverns nearby. Which should she go to? She wasn't particularly hungry, but she also knew that she could experience more people and things if she went in there. At the same time, she could go to the crowded beach and still hold the same potential of experience. It really was a dilemma in her mind as she kept looking between the tavern and the water. Her expression was rather intense even though she was just thinking, not really realizing that she almost looked like she was debating which to attack or some such. Her long black hair flicked from side to side in its ponytail before she finally stopped and instead stared at the ground, moving off to the side lest she was in peoples way.

It's a fiesta! Empty Re: It's a fiesta!

It would seem that the Esparian people were having their annual festival. This gave the chance for all the children to eat their favorite foods and play games. Not only was the festival fun for the kids but also for the adults, it allowed the adults to relax and they could also get great alcohol. Lots of people, young and old were having fun at the Esparian annual festival but there was one person who came to the festival with other intensions. That person’s name was Versin, he went to it with his persona Hara Hyouga.

The official reason why Hara Hyouga came to Esparia was that the nation Xing sent him there to talk to the Esparian military so that Xing and Esparia could have a neutral and peaceful relationship with each other, but the real reason why Hara Hyouga was there is to learn about the Esparian culture. So while Hyouga was looking at the Esparians enjoying their festival, he accidentally ran into someone. When Hyouga took a closer look at who he ran into, Hyouga could see that it was a young woman and from the looks of her she was a full blooded Esparian. Hyouga saw this as a great opportunity, but he did not know any Esparian. So Hyouga used the most commonly used language Amestrian and hoped she would understand him.

“Hello there, you look confused. My name is Hara Hyouga, is there anyway I could help?”

El Presidenté decided to take a time off from duty in particular and to enjoy the finer festivities of Esparia. As his pen signing hand in particular was tired from signing all these execution orders and the occasional solicitation from his concubines. So he decided to spend time out and more with his inner circle in the beach, at his own private section he reserved for himself, which people knew to stray clear from, hence uncrowded. Abstaining from wearing his uniform in particular, he wore a Panama hat, a Hawaiian pattern shirt, some loafers and a slack, some shades as well. Surrounded by his entourage of bodyguards anyways as they were pretty vigilant. Worthy of the names Amazonian.

Relaxing himself at a reclined beach bench as he took a fancy to reading the finer details of the Moda magazine. Something of a mix between technological advances, women showcasing them, and the nice cars involved in them. Foreign in particular as Esparia doesn't have a car manufacturing company. Not that the Presidenté cared, at least it gave a job to the horse manure collectors and the cleaners around, and they should be happy for it. It was a Cretan magazine anyways imported over to Esparia.

Smoking some of that Marijuana as it calmed his nerves down, delirious and relaxed as he ever was. This was a damn fine beach for El Presidenté

"Mariza, get me some of that Martini with a slice of lemon from the bar, you know, the delicious one that doesn't taste like a rat's ass, and taste it, I want no poison!" Vasco orders his Amazonian bodyguard, she left to go over to the drink stands, "Good good, now off you go, get yourself busy."

The day was good... though he had suspicions it'd be more lively. Aside from the festival and the nude beach that was aside his reserved space, things were great. Not like anyone would object to the Presidenté's presence anyways.

It really was such a--BAM! Catalina whirled to face whomever had just bumped into her, resisting the urge to bring up her hands. It was a rather spontaneous reaction for her if she was bumped into. She usually either gained a position ready to attack, or defend herself. But this wasn't normal behavior apparently as she had learned rather quickly when she had joined the modern world seven years ago. It became apparent that the man hadn't meant to run into her, so she relaxed upon this realization and stood up a little straighter.

The first thing she noticed after that, was that this man was clearly not Esparian. He lacked the olive tan skin like her own. Oh dear. What she knew of other countries was what she had been briefed on, told, or researched in her free time. And she didn't know if she liked a lot of it. She felt a bit nervous at this, at least relieved that he didn't look at her like some strange animal. The Amazonian shifted her weight as her dark eyes seemed to pierce this man before her. She didn't realize how intense her stares were, the warm air still cool against her mostly exposed skin. Yes, her tribes clothes were by far more comfortable in the heat than anything else. She would never understand the practicality of what other girls were wearing. Though considering there was a celebration of sorts going on, she was also observing what they did during such a time.

A blank sort of stare came over her features as the man began to speak to her, only catching bits and pieces of what he was saying. He had greeted her, said his name, and...... was he offering to help? "Help with what?" She initially spoke, but shook her head as the man obviously did not speak her language otherwise he would have used it. Glancing around at the ground, she bit her lower lip and raised her head, her gaze rather piercing though she did not mean it to be. She simply did not realize how intense her gaze could be even if she was just thinking about something. "Not good at speaking." She slowly spoke, the words coming out with hesitancy. This wouldn't do for her first contact that wasn't involved in the military.

Her eyes darted to the fiesta around them and seem conflicted, not really sure what she should do... Maybe he spoke another language? It was certainly worth a shot. "I apologize, I didn't quite catch everything you said before. Could you please repeat yourself?" She asked him, her Esparian accent heavy as she tried Cretarian, hoping to the goddess that he could understand her. Otherwise this was going to be problematic. "Er... Catalina de Torla." She gestured to herself, knowing he would certainly understand that. Right?

Fascinating, was the word that came to Hyouga’s mind. At first Hyouga thought he was just talking to a young Esparian woman, but her body language and stares told him that she was somehow different from the other Esparians. Hyouga got more intrigued with the young Esparian woman, as she started to show a childish like naivety. He got worried when using Amestrian did not seem to work but as Hyouga was thinking of a way to fix this problem, she suddenly spoke in Cretarian. Sure she spoke Cretarian with a heavy Esparian accent, but it was better then nothing.

“Oh, ok sure. I said, hello there you look confused. My name is Hara Hyouga, is there anyway I could help?” Hyouga then looked at the young Esparian woman to see if he understood, he then continued. “I’m sorry I did not mean to trouble you. I just wanted to see if you needed help that’s all. Oh, I know how about I make up to you by showing you a good time at the festival. I’ll pay for anything you want to do and it will give me a chance to learn more about your culture. It's a good idea, festivals are more fun when you’re enjoying it with someone other then by yourself, right?” He paused to look at her facial expression. “So what do you say? Also, Catalina you can just call me Hara to keep it simple.” He then took out his hand shake hers.

"My, my, my." The tattooed right hand drew a cigarette from a box, raising it up to the mouth of the man, placing the white stick in between his lips. He breathed out, flicking a lighter a few times, before bringing it up to his lips as well, lighting the cigarette. He took in a drag, and slid the stick out of his mouth, breathing out a small amount of smoke in a mist that surrounded his head, leaving an aura of mysteriousness. The man smiled softly, and stepped forwards, off of the wall that he was leaning against, and out towards the crowd of people. He recognized the President, so he'd go and speak with him.

He stepped out into the crowd, mixing through the people until he met up with the aged President of Esparia, standing next to him with a smirk. Of course, he had somehow managed to get past the Amazonian bodyguards, but let's not go into that. He took in another drag of the cigarette, and took a seat at the bench. Normally, most men wouldn't be able to stand side-by-side with the President, but he was... close with his daughter. That, and he was one of Esparia's Privateers, a soldier masquerading as a pirate hired by the State. So he was usually okay with the President. He'd be happy to move if Vasco didn't want company, however.

"Afternoon, El Presidente. I see that we're enjoying ourselves." He raised his right hand up to his cigarette, the Alchemic Key on the back of his hand revealing itself to Vasco. He didn't really need to hide it, but he didn't like most people seeing it. It wasn't exactly liked, here in Esparia. So when most people saw it, they gave him the evil glare. He didn't need the evil glare. With a soft sigh, he leaned back on the seat and looked over to the side. A few guards gave him an evil stare. He mouthed the word 'what?' at them, and then grinned at their dumbstruck faces.

"Now that I think about it, where's that hyper daughter of yours? Isn't she generally on her way to do something to me by now?" He was, of course, alluding to that strange and uncanny timing that Francesca had whenever he was completely open and not expecting it.

....he'd cursed himself now, hadn't he?

"Fiestaaaaaa Fiesstta~~" A bright, lime green-headed girl chimed as she swayed her hands in time with her steps. "I'm we~aring a sun~flowaa~~" Vasco had bought the skirt for her yesterday for this occasion and she was way too happy about it. Despite the fact that she could pretty much buy herself anything, she left it up to her father. Fran didn't need money to be happy; she needed him. And, well, food. And maybe water. Yes, water was important. Oh, and Shorea, but she already had him. In fact... She glanced behind her with a sway of short strands and sure enough Shorea looked her right in the eyes. Golden meeting sea... The soft sepia tones of the leopard sent her heart racing in a mix between love and absolute affection. Wait, those are the same things... She shook her head and turned her focus back onto her extravagant march. Oh this party would be fun. She couldn't wait to eat. Fran loved food! She slid her yellow goggles from atop her head and over her eyes with a wide grin. (She was wearing contacts). Double prescription powerrr! She wished it would make her see better, but it just gave her a headache. She took them off and let them dangle around her neck like a...necklace! She beamed and spun in a circle, almost colliding with...!!

"Not good at speaking. I apdjsaa, I disfbs't qidq cbathf whfjs ydgi saioh befew. Coufs ydgi refkw yoitgnale? Er... Catalina de Torla."
"og, fbod srur. I daid herferh thehejf yyu lofng cfhhfe. Mjefe fb Hsahj Hyfjsff, id thrjw andwy I codh helfn?"

Fran zoned out. WHAT WERE THEY SAYING?! Was it an alien language that Catalina had never told her about!? This highly depressed her and she plopped herself right in the middle of their extraterrestrial conversation in order to remedy that. "Cattttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!~~ ... Hi. Whatcha talking about? And what's he saying? Do ya need me to kick his ass or sumthin? Hehe~ Never mind let's go." She grinned ear to ear like a child despite her age and grabbed the dark-skinned woman's hand. Fran turned her head to look at the not Esparian guy again. So...he was an alien too! Her aqua eyes stood out from her orange jumper and almost looked as if they were scrutinizing every inch of his soul. "I Fran~ She Cat~ You alien! Let's go...together~ Brb."

She let go of Cat's hand and bolted like a bat out of hell, straight towards the location of her partner using Vitodar and built in Vitosmokedetector. "Isn't she generally on her way to do something to me by now?"
"I is..." she cooed creepily behind him, a sleek smile curling onto her pink lips. Somehow, along the short distance, she had obtained a giant, red bucket full of ice and...melted ice. Vito was smoke-staking again. Fran, armed with the menacing bucket of doom, tilted it with lightning speed over his head. Whooooooosshh~~~ A job well done. She clapped her hands together and walked off without a word. Ice clanked to the sand and sat there in the scorching sun, about to be no more. The water soaked, well, everything. It was a perfect attack.

"Cat, what should I eat first?" Fran smiled, acting completely normal and as if nothing had happened at all. Meanwhile, people were milling about the stack of sodas in the sun, wondering where the ice bucket went...

Oh thank goodness.... He DID speak Cretarian. She was slightly confused by his observation, then realizing what she had been doing when they had--Fran. Oh. Wait, if she was here..... Catalina immediately stood to greater attention, still hearing all that he had been saying. He was offering to treat her to the festival? Was this normal for outsiders to do? Or was this one of those strange situations of "being-hit-upon?" Oh why was this all so complicated..... Her facial expression didn't quite change as she glanced between him and Fran, obviously not really sure what she should do. On the one hand, she did want to get to know this outsider because frankly she hadn't really experienced an encounter like this. On the other, Fran was... important. And a comrade. Friend? She was still so confused about that word. So many different meanings it seemed like.

Holding up a finger to Hara to wait a moment, she let Fran tug on her arm a bit, opening and closing her mouth as she tried to figure out what to say to each. This.... this was all just so unexpected!! What was she supposed to do--- Oh. Well, there Fran went. Her dark eyes observed as she ran off before she could even speak, briefly seeming at a loss as she sighed lightly. Oh well, at least this meant she could answer Hara, right?

"You are hardly troubling me.. Hara." She was a little hesitant at saying his name, it felt strange on her tongue. She wondered what language it came from, perhaps Aerugo? She wasn't sure in the least. "Festivals are better enjoyed with company, I agree. If you wish to go to it with me, I see no reason why I should say no--" She was cut off as Fran bounded back into view, turning to face her a little more since the situation was now strange again. How was she supposed to behave? Blinking, she turned her head more to look at the various stalls, smelling the air to get an idea of what was being served. And boy was it a mix. So many various things greeted her nostrils, and of course not all of it was good. She hardly cared though and so appeared thoughtful. Sort of. She appeared rather intense again, turning back to her female comrade with a light shrug. "Perhaps some of the various enchilada's being served? Or some of the roast boar instead?" Her speech was much quicker with her native tongue, tilting her head as she was pretty used to Fran's rather spontaneous behavior.

Oh. Right. Introductions. "Ah, right erm.. Fran, this is Hara Hyouga. I'm not sure where he is from." She began in Esparian, her attention upon Fran until it shifted to the male, gesturing to each in turn. "Hara, this is Francesca Santa Pedro Allende. She is our President's daughter." She finished, her hands lowering back to her sides as she stood there sort of awkwardly. She really needed to get used to how things were in the modern world faster.

Vasco minded his own business of course, taking another good inhalation of the relaxing yet lightheaded inducing qualities of the joint, another that he puffed out. Though looking aside he sees Vito by chance, good man at that, by good, he makes damn well enough dough. Some people he cares to actually remember mostly because he actually is a walking cashcow, minus the cow and is more like a brooding amped up bull on steroids. Probably just that.

He gave the slightest of nods to Vito in lieu to the bidding of a good noon ever after. Also known as good afternoon bidded. That nod? It was damn generous of the Presidenté, Don, Glorious Leader, whatever the Hell Vasco took a fancy to for a title. That, and he did not object to another sitting by him, that's good, he has somethings to tell the fellow enthusiast of tobacco.

Now as it went, Vasco raised an eyebrow to the inquiry of his daughter. This is getting fishy. Now why would he want to know about her whereabouts? What sort of FILTHY thoughts are going through Vito's head? Does he plan to kidnap her and ransom her against her will? Or does he wish to assassinate her?! Maybe even ask her for Vasco's secret stash of ONE of his money depot hideouts that he keeps in case of an emergency, or perhaps... he would IMPREGNATE HER! One thing for certain was that Vasco had a most serious look to himself. He didn't pay heed to Vito's alchemical symbol on his hand, it was insignificant anyways, could've been a tattoo for all he knew, chicks tend to tattoo symbols like that on their buttcheeks anyways, so what does it matter? Anyways, unto the business of Francesca.

"My daughter Francesca is--" He kept quiet after what he was gonna say was gonna be pretty harsh, saw Francesca behind the unwary pirate naysayer, scootched aside as he took off his cigar from his mouth and flicked it aside, that it coincided with a bucket of cold water to which to this day Vasco wonders where she keeps materializing those, had been promptly poured over Vito, "--right there... and now she left."

He waved to his departing daughter. Bless her.

Dipping his fingers, he yanked off a handkerchief from his left pants pocket, flicking it over to Vito's lap, "Help yourself, for now you are one with the seas," Vasco smiled gleefully as he realized a rather delightful prospect he wants Vito to partake in, "Boyo, clap like a seal with down syndrome, then squeal like a whale, that's an order, now tootsweet! Chop chop, have at it for you shall be Nemo, Queen of the seas."

He grinned, he shall or SHALL NOT have his entertainment for the duration. Why not? After all, Vito was here, might as well make him play the role of the fish, he does spend a lot of times privateering at the seas anyways, might as well for him to act like a creature of such.

”I’ll catch up with you all a little later,” she says, hugging her children and kissing her husband. ”I just need to say hi to some people. Wouldn’t want to bore the little ones, wouldn’t we?” With a wave, she watches her husband lead her children off deeper into the carnival.

Looking over, she sees Presidente Allende talking to someone. She starts heading towards him, figuring now would be a good time to “check up” on her favorite leader.

”El Presidente,” she says, curtsying to the man, ”it’s been a while.” Looking over to the other man, she was about to ask his name when he was doused with ice and water by the President’s daughter. And that’s when she noticed it, finally looking past the now-ruined cigarette. Internally, she sighs. She wanted to get back to her family but work takes precedence.

”I’m not sure I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you before, senor,” she says, reaching into her bag and taking out a box of cigarettes and a lighter. ”Would you like one?” she asks, taking a cigarette out for herself and lighting it, offering to do the same for him.

"I is..." That voice. Oh god. Oh god no. The man could only slowly turn around in order to see the green-haired girl creeping up on his position. His eyes widened slightly, and he coughed slightly, seeing the materialization of the bucket of ice-cold water. No... no... no... no... n--OHGODTHATSCOLD! His eyes opened even wider, almost popping out of their sockets, and he had to struggle to turn back to face the beach, moving slowly with the feeling of the cold in his back. So... cold...

"--right there... and now she left."

"Uh-huh. I can see that." The words were forced, Vito trying to stop his teeth from chattering. He dropped the doused cigarette to the ground, and sighed softly. That was quite frustrating - seeing her do that whenever he lit up - but he lived with it. 'Cuz he, although he wouldn't openly admit it, kinda cared for the little speed-rabbit. Kinda. Ahem.

"Help yourself, for now you are one with the seas," The handkerchief landed on his lap, and he blinked a couple of times, reaching for the material and moving it to dab some of the water off of his face. He sighed, and then heard the next thing that El Presidente had to say.

"Boyo, clap like a seal with down syndrome, then squeal like a whale, that's an order, now tootsweet! Chop chop, have at it for you shall be Nemo, Queen of the seas." Well, shit. A light sigh, and he raised his hands in the air to clap. It's not like he can refuse the President of Esparia now, is it? Another sigh, and...

”I’m not sure I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you before, senor,”

"Eh?" He turned to the woman's voice and blinked a couple of times. Before him stood a golden-eyed, violet-haired, tanned woman. She had quite the homely look, but was looking at the array tattoo on the back of his hand - or at least, she seemed to be for but a second, before returning her gaze to his face.

”Would you like one?” She offered him a cigarette. He shook his head briefly.

"No, gracias, senora. I do not wish to have that little..." His eyes quickly flicked to El Presidente and back, "Miss Francesca dumping water on me once more. It is quite irritating, and almost good reason for me to quit." He laughed softly at this, and flicked a piece of hair from off his eyes with his tattooed hand.

Hyouga was waiting in anticipation for Catalina’s reply, when suddenly a green haired girl came out of nowhere and interrupted Catalina as she was going to reply. The green haired girl grabbed Catalina’s hand and then the both of them started to walk a way from him. Hyouga thought his plans were now ruined because of the green haired girl getting in the way, but Catalina gave him a sign to wait. So there was still hope for Hyouga’s plan to work. He was glad to see her come back, Hyouga was especially happy that Catalina had returned without the green haired girl with her.

Catalina had agreed on what Hyouga said about festivals being more fun when you are enjoying it with someone other then by yourself and she said yes to his offer. Everything looked like it was going as he had planed, until once again the green haired girl came out of nowhere and interrupted Catalina as she was talking. They then began to look at the festival’s food stands. When they had finally decided on what food they wanted, they took a table and started eating. Catalina then told Hyouga that the green haired girl was in fact the daughter of the Esparian President.

Hyouga couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “So Catalina, if you don’t mind me asking how exactly did you become so close to the President's daughter? I wouldn’t think that just anybody could do that. Also could you ask her if she can speak any other languages, because if she does then maybe I could find a way to communicate with her." Once they were done eating their food, they again started to look at what the festival had to offer. While they were walking down the streets, Hyouga could feel a lot of people’s gazes. What could be their reason for gazing at them, could it have been the fact that the President's daughter was with them or was it that they knew who he was?

By looking at their facial expressions Hyouga found the cause for the people’s gazes and that would be Catalina. Now that he thought about it that did make sense after all, because Catalina was an attractive woman who was wearing reviling clothing. Hyouga understood the reason but he still did not like the attention, so Hyouga thought of a sample idea to fix that. “I think we should get some festival clothing while we are here, so what do the two of you think of that idea?”

Awwy Vito didn't scream this time. She pouted, watching the scene unfold behind her instead of paying attention to Cat's answer about food. He looked cold, but rather too unperturbed by her act of war. Her father moved out of the way and removed his smoke stick like usual, knowing her antics way too well and thus avoiding the blast. It made her sorry to see Vito have to suffer in that way. So alone--so icey and soaking wet. And to top it off, he was too used to having a bucket of freezing water dumped on his head. It was time to change tactics! She nodded to herself with determined seawater eyes and then turned back to Cat with a wide smile. "Boar sounds glorious!" She scanned the tables and located it a few feet away. All of the medium pieces were already cut off, leaving the rare and Fran's favorite part. She was in luck. Oh, oh she was in luck! She let out a little kyaa in excitement and grabbed a spoon. The nice old man cut her a luscious piece and flopped it onto her upside down plate. If you set it on the table, it was like an offering to some god since it was elevated. And it was also easier to reach. She liked it better and received many a stare for her strange ways. What do you expect? She was an alien! That was the only way to explain it~

She spooned at the meat on her plate and took bitefuls, listening to everything her friend was saying about the strange-looking alien man that she soon learned was actually from Earth. She felt let down, but smiled pleasantly at him anyway. "Hiya mister Hara Hyouga. You speak this, right? But not Esparian, huh? I heard you using it earlier. What fun!" She opened her mouth all the way and closed it as if speaking the foreign language was an exercise to her jaw muscles. And then she gobbled down the rest of the meat and tossed out the trash.

"Today is Cat's unbirthday today! So I got her something. Cat! I got you a present today for your unbirthday! Want to see?" She twirled in a circle and gravitated towards her father since he had the keys to the storage room where it was. "Nyan nyaaa Shorea! Your new friend Shade is allowed out todaaay hehe~~" Shorea, Fran's leopard let out a contented yowl and stole a slice of boar right off the table. "Badbad leoleo! You must ask first!" She patted the giant cat's head and looked at Hara inquisitively. Why was he here anyway. Well~ either way he would be a new friend!!

"Daaaaaaaaaaad!" Fran called from across the expanse of beach, smiling brightly as if the word itself made her day. "I need the key~ We should give it to her nownow pronto hyai~~"

It's a fiesta! Empty Re: It's a fiesta!

Why was it always so impossible to find Fran? No matter what the situation was, Fran was always somewhere doing something. Tristão sighs loudly when he pulls off a piece of coloring paper with scribbles everywhere from his window. ‘Fran’ he shakes his head as he attempts to decipher her messy, untrained handwriting. It sounds like she was going down the annual fiesta that was happening this time of year. "Oh m gee" He squeals sarcastically to himself before strutting to his closet.

“Come, come Lucian, we need prep ourselves” He nudges the top of his foot against the sleeping beasts large and hairy stomach. The lion growls and stretches in the middle of the kitchen when he finally stands.

Ten minutes later, Tristão was out the door riding around on Lucian’s back. It wasn’t a long ride down to the fiesta, but Lucian wasn’t too happy with carrying his master yet again. Tristão, with his dashing good looks, stares dumbfounded at the massive glob of people roaming around. “Ah, shit..” he grumbles and pats Lucian on the head. “What in the world boy? I’ve never seen so many drunk people is this long….” His hairy counterpart growls a low, deep, magnificent roar at a couple passing by. The two people jump, faces turn white, and scurry off. “Are you kidding me idiots! It’s just a lion, not like it’s going to gobble you down and suck the bones from your ribs!” Tristão exclaims with a large fist shaking profusely in the air and a frown resting on his lips.

Moments later, the two were walking down the sidewalk closest to the beach. The water was so calm, and beautiful. Perfect for sailing, and that was something he utterly loved more than any activity. His blissful daydream soon came crashing down, Fran. Of course. Her voice was unlike any other. It’s high pitched, hyper active, and frantic sound waves could be heard from anywhere. There she was-finally! “Over there boy!” Tristão laughs to himself before kicking Lucian in the side to make him strut faster. “Oh ward!” He yanks out his cutlass and points it in the direction straight ahead.

The closer they came to where Fran was whining for her father, the better the smell lingered in his mouth. “Ahhhhh, boar….” Tristão licks his lips several times. “Now let get goi-” He was cut short as Lucian races off in a mad dash, tossing the man to the pavement. He laid on the ground for a minute, as a couple of women stepped over his body without offering to help him up. “Rude!” He yells as he brushes his shoulders off.

Lucian, in the meantime, was already at Frans side. He liked her, he liked her a lot. He was purring loud at her feet, nudging her leg with his head several times. Just then, out of no where, he leaped up and swooped the remainder of the boar into his mouth.

“Fran!” Tristão shakes his head and stomps over to the girl that was still whining for her father. “Why in the world did you want me to come to this hideous fiesta!?! I should be out there, sailing the ocean blue! Not here watching you-errr my lion eat boar!” When he was finally finished he realizes that Catalina was standing right next to them, with some mysterious fellow. “Oh, hello there Catalina~” Tristão takes a deep bow and nods his head once. “Lovely, as usual.” He smiles a goofy boyish grin at the woman before glaring at the stranger seconds later. “Who in the hell is ‘slanted’ eyes?” He questions as he points over her shoulder at the foreigner.

It's a fiesta! Empty Re: It's a fiesta!

Post by Guest Sun Jul 24, 2011 11:36 pm

Catalina blinked as she was now even more puzzled, was it strange that she was so close with Fran? They were in a guild together after all. Or did other countries not operate in the same way? "I'm one of President Allende's guards. I also operate in a guild with Fran." She explained, falling quiet as Fran spoke up. She did not smile in return, but merely nodded and walked with her to the table not too far away. Boar was one of those things that could be had all year round, but was particularly special during the annual fiesta. It was as if all the stops were pulled out as she had heard someone describe it before. She had to agree that it was better than normal here.

The man at the stall blinked at her and then bowed his head respectfully for he knew what she was. Respect. Excellent. She soon received a lovely large piece with plenty of skin that was deliciously crunchy upon a plate. Crouching down, she pulled her obsidian dagger from its sheath hidden within her fur greaves and proceeded to cut the meat. Then she stabbed the knife down and ate it off of the tip, that lovely crackling sound from the skin music to her ears. It was like when she was with her people.... Mother.. She wondered how she was doing. Her eyes lowered as Fran excitedly ate her boar, glancing to Hara as he seemed to have noticed the stares as well. She almost wondered if he was more uncomfortable about it than she because she was rather used to it. She shrugged at Hara's offer, pausing before she took another bite of her boar. "I am alright as I am. The festival clothes could cause a hinderance to my effectiveness in a fight. And in case something should happen where I must protect President Allende, I cannot allow this hinderance to occur. I appreciate it though Hara." She said softly with a small nod to him, ripping off a piece of the boars meat almost with what could some would call a savageness. In truth, it was just a little sinewy.

Chewing her boar at a rather relaxed pace, she observed as Fran began to speak in Amestrian, blinking twice since she only understood about an eighth of what was said. The clearest thing she got was Esparian and that was it. But she assumed that they were getting used to each other. How her friend so easily blended with these foreigners was a point of wonderment to her. Or at least she seemed more at ease about the whole situation. Quickly finishing up her slice of boar, she also threw out the plate in a nearby trash can, flicking the knife down to cast any excess juices from it. Grasping an extra long piece of her "skirt," if you wanted to call it that, she cleaned off the dagger before sliding it back within her greaves, her ears perking up.

Her unbirthday? What in the world did that mean? "Unbirthday? Present?" Her eyes widened slightly, what had she done to deserve such an honor? Instinctively she began to bow, but she had to stop herself since this was Fran, her companion and friend. Yes... friend. Friends did occasionally give each other things right? For her people, this was always something useful. For everyone here in this modern place, it could be useful or not. It could hold some meaning to it that she didn't always understand. "Of course Fran."

And per usual, by the time she answered, her green haired friend was off. The corners of her mouth tilted up slightly as she chuckled for once, a rather rare occurrence for her all considering. She didn't always understand the humor in these cities, but with Fran.... You just couldn't help but relax. The faint smile lasted as she observed her twirling about, moving back as the leopard stole a piece of boar. The old man was startled, but he laughed and it relieved her. She wasn't quite sure what she might have done should he have minded.

Then a lion showed up. Her eyes widened as she knew exactly what that meant. Turning, there he was in all his glory and prim clothes. Her smile remained for a moment longer before it twisted into a smirk. Yep, that was Tristão for you. She bowed as well, "A pleasure Tristão." Her voice had begun to hold a warmth hidden amongst it now that her companions were here as the smile returned. The transformation it caused across her features was rather drastic since she was normally such a statue. Or she'd been described as such before. Clearly she was more at ease now that it wasn't just her with this-- She stopped as the stoic expression returned.-- foreigner? She felt like such a description was not normal or was it? Maybe derogatory? She just didn't know.

"This is Hara Hyouga. He appears to be visiting our home." She gestured to her acquaintance, her body shifting to account for the increased number of their group. Her dark eyes then rested upon Hara as she tilted her head slightly and held a hand towards her guild master. "And this is Tristão Nino. He is our guild master."

She chuckled. The president’s daughter was always a bit of a free spirit. Probably the result of her upbringing, she thought. Still, she couldn’t help but glance at the tattoo again as Vito brushed his hair.

”Though, perhaps if you quit, she’ll find other reasons to dump water on you for. Or are you willing to take that risk?” She gives a soft smile. ”Though, sometimes girls have a strange way of expressing interest in someone. Some nag, some get violent… And Miss Francesca throws water on men while they smoke? Or maybe she just likes your reaction.”

Looking between Vito and the president, she smiles. ”I presume you know Francesca well, then? Well enough to know our dear president here, so perhaps you work with her?” Inwardly she cursed herself, fishing for information, all for the sake of her job. But, then again, it was her job to ask questions.

"Daaaaaaaaaaad!" Vito winced slightly at the girl's shouting, still excessively cold from what had happened earlier. No, he had to pull a brave face for this. He really had to. He struggled to turn and look at Fran, seeing the excitable young lady the way she was, before turning back to Vasco once more, still listening to the homely looking woman nearby.

”Though, perhaps if you quit, she’ll find other reasons to dump water on you for. Or are you willing to take that risk? Though, sometimes girls have a strange way of expressing interest in someone. Some nag, some get violent… And Miss Francesca throws water on men while they smoke? Or maybe she just likes your reaction.” He blinked at this reply, thinking it over for a few seconds. He had never really considered it like that. His only thoughts had really been that she wanted to terrorize him no matter what - he hadn't thought of any other reasoning behind it, really...

"You may be right. However, I may just react like I normally do. Give her the satisfaction." He laughed softly, and tapped his forehead.

”I presume you know Francesca well, then? Well enough to know our dear president here, so perhaps you work with her?” He nodded slightly and reached down to his hip with his right hand, drawing the Contender and placing the barrel against his forehead, showing it to her with a smirk.

"I've worked with Miss Francesca for a while, now. Privateer, and self-proclaimed Alchemist executer. Started my career on the day I killed my father with my own gun." He trusted this woman enough. And she seemed interested in his hand, her eyes glanced over it several times without reason. "If you must know, it's the glyph that my father put on my hand before he died. I don't know what it does, so please don't inquire about it." His dark eyes were sharp as he stared at the woman beside him.

Vasco nodded back to Helena, acknowledging her presence as he would keep to himself. After all, he only knows her "vaguely", if only that being "her". Attention drifting off from the motherly woman. After all, she was interacting with the walrus seal with down syndrome named Nemo. The new name El Presidenté decided to dub Vito as, since it is catchier and fancier.

Leaving the two to their own interactions, as he sat there, watching the many buxom buttocks of the fine ladies around the beach with a satisfied grin slapped across his face. That of course changed upon the shout of...

"Daaaaaaaaaaad!"

He shifted his glance from the backside of the fine locals to that of his daughter's face, well, more like that small vaguely detailed outline of a daughter from that distance if one may call her that.

"I need the key~ We should give it to her nownow pronto hyai~~"

Oh, the keys. Vasco had no idea what keys she wanted, so he figured an EASIER solution instead. The one thing that solves all the problems he ever has, which was pretty easy for every single situation. He snapped his fingers and whispered some things to his bodyguards, the Amazonian with curly hair flung her loaded pistol towards Fran. It was a good throw too, traversing the grounds to reach the green daughter.

Yep, after all, she does display real responsibility over firearm control which was why she'd be trusted in handling it. Nothing can go wrong after all?

"THERE IS YOUR KEY HONEY!" The fedora wearing father shouted across the fields back to the other lime hair deviant of a shouter of a daughter.

"...I killed my father with my own gun."

The Leader snapped a look at Vi-- Nemo, saucers for eyes glaring at the seaman whom happens to be wet with chilly water.

"Oh, and I take it you plan to teach Fran the trade of your kin slaying, eh? Are you gonna be a bad influence on my little girl? Gonna teach her to kill her old man eh? Actually, why're you even close to her to begin with?" All these questions shot at Reyes, typical suspicious father attitude from a father whom is a leader that is quite suspicious about the daughter's friend's relationship with herself.

Snapping his finger for a curly haired Amazonian guard to give her full attention to the President.

"Watch him twenty four seven, when he goes to sleep, when he reads his magazines, smokes, uses the bathroom, WHICHEVER! And make sure he doesn't get TOO friendly with my daughter. If he does, slap him across the face." Vasco ordered, flicking the sweat from his brow aside.

"Phew, all in a day's work as the President has been quite tiresome. People oughta learn to appreciate me for all the generosities I've done them and this nation anyways." Mentally sighs the beleaguered man with the 'stache of power.

Soon after Hyouga had asked Catalina to ask Fran if she knew any other languages so he could talk to Fran, but it seemed that was unnecessary because Fran started to speak to him in Amestrian. So, she heard me using Amestrian earlier. I did not now that, I wonder how long she was watching us without me realizing. Whatever, it does not seem like she knows who I am. “Yes, I speak Amestrian and yes sadly I do not know any Esparian, but I’m hoping to learn.”

To answer Hyouga’s question Catalina told him that she was one of the President's guards and also she was in the same guild as Fran. “Oh, I see so you are in the military, but still that is quite something that you are so close to the President's daughter. In my country knowing anyone in royal family is not an easy thing to do.” She also turned down Hyouga’s offer to get festival clothing. Catalina said it was because the festival clothing would hinderance her if she had to fight.

Fran then talked about it being Catalina’s unbirthday. Hyouga looked at Catalina to see if she knew what Fran meant about this “unbirthday” thing, but it seemed that she was just as confused as he was. The situation got even more complicated when a man and a lion, came to the food stand they were eating at. The man then walked toward their table and started to talk to both of the girls. Hyouga could not understand a thing the man said but by the way he stared at him, Hyouga could tell that this man did not like him for some reason. Catalina then introduced the man named Tristão to him.

“Sorry Catalina, I know it has not been long since I asked last time, but if it’s not too mush trouble could you ask Tristão if he can speak any other languages.”

"THANKS FATHERPERSON AND MEDUSAGUARDLADY!" Fran caught the loaded pistol, nearly plowing over the lion that was snuggling at her feet.

"Fran!" A voice! A voice a voice a voice! She knew who it was and snatched her head around to see her leaderleader. Waving, a childish smile filled her face and she danced her body around him and into a tight, loving hug.

"Leadertaotao, I must unlock the storage house with this!" She held up the gun as if it were the golden key in a classic fairy tale of glory. "It be Cat's unbirthday present so you must attendness!" She bent down eye to eye with the king of the jungle and nuzzled her face into him. "Nyanya Lucian~ Shorea and you will havith a new friendlendsend!" She beamed sparkles and butterflies and then stood back to her full height, ignoring the fact that Shorea was now gnawing on the shoelaces of her boots. She hadn't fed him today because he was getting too fat. Fat cats = no plat! e. Plate. Whoops. Mistake error! Whatever~

She picked up on Hara's quick answer and glided over to him still sporting the gun haphazardly (or so it appeared). "Fran will teachteach! Hara must learn or he won't get anywhere here. Ne Tristãowow?" She side-stepped Shorea, causing him to let out a frustrated gurgle. Both cats seemed to understand her when she hauhnhauhned in Rouenian and they were almost... antsy with anticipation. Tristlist knew too--only one! Everyone else didn't even know what the language was and neither did she or him. That's why they were both abducted by aliens! It was implanted in their minds!! It was time to make them stop waiting because everyone was waiting. She took the pistol, aimed it without looking, and blew a hole through the wonderful lock that some sucker had spent a long time fashioning out of foreign metal that wasn't music. She hip-hopped to the door when it swung open from its hinges to reveal...!! Darkness. She squinted sun-tinged seawater eyes to see into the abyss of nothingness.

"Shadeplayed!" Fran twirled through darkness to find fur just a little darker. The large black panther meowed and strolled into the sunlight next to her once emerged. "Catcat's unbirthday present namithed Shade!" The three cats bounded around each other in kin and the short lime-haired girl smiled like moonlight. It was a serious smile, one that betrayed her childlike demeanor and over-the-top ways that made her stand out from the normal human. (That was why she was an alien)! The smile soon faded and she shot Cat an encompassing look, eyes stained with austere that said: take good care of him.

"VATHER~~ here be your key back!" She threw the gun like a rocket launcher at Medusagaurdlady. "Thank you!! She waved and went back to the scene of three kittens milling about.

The moment of their embrace, Tristão let out a sigh of relief. No matter what she did, she was always his best friend. He couldn’t be angry with her for more than fifteen minutes it seemed.

“Leadertaotao, I must unlock the storage house with this!” Fran energetically responded to Tristão and he stood with utter confusion. He blinks for a moment as he stares at the pistol she held in her hand.

“Hell no…” He mumbles under his breath as he takes a couple steps away from her. He wasn’t about to stand anywhere near her with a gun, even if she had perfect accuracy. His stomach grumbles a large moan and he frowns. Tristão makes his way over to the dishes of boar. To his shock only a tad was left. How could this little girl eat that much? Oh, and Lucian… He was always too fat. Well, he is a lion after all. His eyes dart over to his beastly friend and he glares angrily. The lion yawns and continues to nuzzle Fran’s shin before jumping from the gun shot.

“Lucian. You fatty! I can’t take you anywhere!” Tristão rants and complains, waving his hands frantically above his head. Lucian was too busy listening to Fran baby talk Rouenian. The only real reason Tristão could understand and speak Rouenian was because of Fran. They’ve known one another for so long that it became kind of a secret language to them. Something that could be extremely useful if need be.

Before he knew it, he had finished every little piece of meat that was left on the plates. It was so delicious. When he hears about Cat’s unbirthday, the man turns and winks at her. It was that charming wink that would make most women swoon. The look turns sour quickly as he scowls at the foreigner. “Maybe you should learn our language before you come, idiot. I can’t stand when people come over and-” Lucian whacks Tristão in the gut with his tail and growls. At times it seemed like a beast had better manners than the leader.

“Shade?!” Tristão looks over at his best friend while wincing in pain from the tail slap. “Lucian won’t like this one bit!” He tried to warn her, but before he could he caught the three cats swirling around playfully. How did she do it? Everything she touched turns to gold.

It's a fiesta! Empty Re: It's a fiesta!

Post by Guest Fri Jul 29, 2011 9:42 pm

So many people at once..... Catalina was used to hustle and bustle, but there always seemed to be a point where you realized just how many people were around you. For the moment Fran was distracted by speaking to her father, her eyes turning to rest upon the man that she served. Once more she was glad that she had been allowed this day off, debating if she should go up and speak to him at some point or not. No, not right now. Turning her attention back to Hara, she nodded as he began to understand the situation. Well, as much as he could at least. An eyebrow raised as she was rather surprised by this information about his land. Not easy? As the festival flowed about them, she now was curious yet wary of these other lands. Even amongst her people you still knew the leader of your tribe despite if that may be only as a comrade in arms. It was the same here was it not? She served Vasco, obeyed Tristão, and worked with Fran. These other countries must be very strange she believed.

Glancing to her friends, and she could call them that, a faint smile broke her stoic exterior to see them hug. She didn't quite understand the need for such physical contact, but she did know that it was a way to express ones affections whether it be friendly or sexual. As Fran nuzzled their feline friends, she noticed as she slipped into that other language she knew, ignoring as she always did. She was a bit slow to pick up on whatever Fran was saying in Rouenian, but since she only dipped into it on occasion, she didn't worry too much about it. No, for now she watched Fran bounce about and speak to Hara in her usual mix of languages, blinking at the feline's agitation. Was something the matter? And why was a gun a key? It was a rather strangely shaped key if it truly was one--

--Oh. As Fran shot the lock off, Catalina stepped closer slowly, the boom-boom stick continuing to cause her some discomfort. Especially when she had to use them. Inwardly she shuddered, but ignored it, instead peering into the darkness after Fran. What in the world had Fran bought for...... Her eyes widened as she made out the large form, the black fur that glistened like ink in those shadows. She knew that body type all too well, the tattoo that covered her entire one arm a testimony to that. Hell, even the nickname she had for herself! It was by far the biggest black panther she had ever seen, large enough for her to ride on for sure. She was completely at a loss, at least registering the name of the magnificent creature before her. Shade. Very fitting. As he began to play with Lucien and Shorea, her dark eyes rose to meet Fran's, knowing that look all too well. Nodding her head slowly once, the gratitude that lay within her own gaze was clear since her words had failed her.

Fran and Tristão should be used to that phenomenon by now. Sometimes she knew what to say, and other times she remained silent because she didn't. Silence could speak volumes at points she had discovered. And then she realized that Tristão had winked at her, not really sure why she felt a very tiny warmth in her cheeks bloom at the action. Was it a hot flash? Was it an illness? No, she couldn't be getting sick. Blinking in her confusion, she shook it away and turned her full attention to her new companion. If nothing else it was a distraction from Tristão's rudeness towards Hara, not that she could really blame him. Their people were both used to visitors, and yet not.

Crouching down, she pressed her hands into the ground as if she were about to begin stalking the cats before her, instead moving to the side slowly. Shade immediately noticed the motion and paused in his play, his great body tensing as they watched each other. They began to move in a circle like that, just staring at each other. They could sense the others prowess in battle, the warrior that lay within the other. Slowly, they began to move close to the other, neither quite sure of the other. Holding out a hand as Shade was about three feet away, Catalina waited patiently, taking the first step to say hello. She knew the honor of creatures, knew of the respect that her people had shown to them. After all, they had shared the same home. And after a moment, the giant panther moved forward hesitantly and sniffed, pressing its head into the palm of her hand.

A big smile spread across her features, everyone else gone now as it was just them. The two far from their homes. Petting his silky fur, her black eyes refocused upon Fran as she returned, remaining crouched before Shade. "He is beautiful Fran, thank you very much for this great gift. You do me great honor. I am in your debt." The words had finally come on their own accord, not expecting the large pink tongue that licked the side of her face as a rumbling was heard. Purring, he was purring. Chuckling, she touched her forehead to Shades and arose, her hand continuing to pet his silky fur.

Helena gave a small smile as Vasco barely acknowledged her presence. It was amusing, to say the least, but her attention focused back to the most interesting person in front of her. This Vito. The one showing her his gun.

"I've worked with Miss Francesca for a while, now. Privateer, and self-proclaimed Alchemist executer. Started my career on the day I killed my father with my own gun. If you must know, it's the glyph that my father put on my hand before he died. I don't know what it does, so please don't inquire about it."

She nods. ”For what it’s worth, I’m sorry for your loss… Though, perhaps you shouldn’t wave that glyph around so much. Might attract the wrong kind of attention, and it’d be a shame to see a friend of Fran disappear.” Glancing over to the side, she sees her husband waving at her.

”I’m sorry, Vito and President Allende, but I came here to spend time with my family, not to chat.” With a slight bow, she says, ”I bid you both farewell, then.” Walking away towards her family, she resists the urge to look at Vito’s “glyph” one last time. If he worked with Fran, then he likely either didn’t know what it did, or lacked the ability to use it. Or both. Still, it was enough to warrant suspicion, but given the circumstances, she couldn’t take extreme action. Not yet, at least. Only time would tell.

"Oh, and I take it you plan to teach Fran the trade of your kin slaying, eh? Are you gonna be a bad influence on my little girl? Gonna teach her to kill her old man eh? Actually, why're you even close to her to begin with?" ...eh? He turned his head to the side, looking at Vasco weirdly. That was a good question; why was Vito so close to Francesca? He had to wonder about that to himself, and then thought back six years, back on the first day he had come into Vasco's employ.

He was only eighteen, and seeing the young daughter of El Presidente he realized that he needed to at least help this young girl. She was the strangest young person that he'd met, and due to his own nature he couldn't help but stick by her side. So he decided to put his life on the line for her, and offered his services as a gunman to Vasco in order to protect her; becoming her bodyguard. He kept that job for a good three years, living in a small shack off the property with a direct line to Fran's room for when she needed his assistance.

Three years later, she had expressed interest in becoming a part of her father's navy. As it was his job, he decided to continue protecting her, and followed on, joining after. And then, well, three years later... here they were. He chuckled lightly, and smiled at Vasco with a worn and roguish smirk.

"You forget, El Presidente? You must be growing old and tired. I've been working for you and protecting your daughter for six years now. So it would be only... natural for me to be close to her, right? As I work for your family, there is no need for me to have my employer die. You need not worry, Senor."

"Watch him twenty four seven, when he goes to sleep, when he reads his magazines, smokes, uses the bathroom, WHICHEVER! And make sure he doesn't get TOO friendly with my daughter. If he does, slap him across the face." He chuckled again. Oho? That was a pity. Then again, he wouldn't do anything that friendly, unless she came onto him. Even if he had gained some form of feelings for the little one.

"VATHER~~ here be your key back!" The sound of something being thrown caused him to turn around, not realizing that the target of the thrown object was actually standing behind him. He turned to see a pistol flying for him, and the metallic object collided with his face, sending him flying off the bench and sliding across the sand, groaning and rubbing his now-throbbing and slightly-bleeding nose with a whine.

”For what it’s worth, I’m sorry for your loss… Though, perhaps you shouldn’t wave that glyph around so much. Might attract the wrong kind of attention, and it’d be a shame to see a friend of Fran disappear.” He blinked, and nodded at her advice. He had no wish to use this Glyph, and so he wouldn't try and get said unwarranted attention.

”I’m sorry, Vito and President Allende, but I came here to spend time with my family, not to chat. I bid you both farewell, then.” He stood up and waved, walking back to the bench and taking a seat again, readying his mental and physical defenses for Fran's next attack.

"Bundle of fun, that one." He laughed again and re-holstered the pistol that he had dropped on the ground, adjusting his trenchcoat at the same time, standing up.

"I'll leave you be now, El Presidente. Good day." The grim-looking man walked away from the bench, giving a slight wave and walking towards Fran and the rest, looking at the young woman and shouting out with a grin on his face.

"Hey, Miss Francesca! Next time, look before you throw! I don't need another pistola to hit me on the face!" He laughed softly and placed his hands into his pockets, shaking his still slightly-sodden head.
