DESCRIPTION:
Standing 4’3”, Zina is a rather well-mannered 12-year-old. Her large pink eyes are warm, and full of emotion and a child’s untouched innocence. Her long hair is almost white, reaching down to her waist. It is often well-combed and done up in a particular fancy way, but even when worn casually, it is well-groomed and often shines in the light. Her skin is very pale, but otherwise flawless. She was not exposed to the harsh Drachman weather, the marks of hard labor such as scrapes and bruises, nor even the signs of playing outside like a child.
Oftentimes, she wears nice, high-class clothes, often skirts, nice shirts, and such. Pants, to her, are more for bedtime and going outside in the cold. She does have simpler clothes, but often neglects them, as they are for “the peasants.”
When suited up for combat, she wears a padded brown bodysuit with red and gold trim. The padding is stitched in a diamond-pattern, and normally complimented by simple boots and wool fingerless gloves. On the left shoulder is a patch of Drachma’s new symbol, that of the most recent regime. On her right is her Kuvalda patch. In the foreground is a snarling bear, ready to strike down the foes of the great people of Drachma. In the background is the symbolic Soviet hammer, crossed with a tesla coil. From the tesla coil is a curved arc of electricity, making it look much like a sickle.
One point of interest, however, is often covered by her long hair. At the base of her neck, between her shoulderblades, is a metal ring with a hole in the center. During the Communist Rebellion, she suffered some spinal damage, which made it difficult for her to walk. When she was taken in by the new government, she was “repaired” by doctors via the neural jack, which correctly reconnected her nerves. This neural jack, besides allowing her to function normally again, also allows her to connect to certain equipment, most notably her mechanized suit, Berserker. The neural jack is capable of handling the input and output of information.

PERSONALITY:
When you first meet Zina, it is obvious that she isn’t a normal girl that was raised in Drachma, a trait that’s much more than skin deep. Although just twelve years old, she does show intelligence beyond her age. She’s kind, polite, and refined, suggests to her noble birth and the expenses put towards training her to be a sort of trophy-daughter. However, she is also naïve. Whether it’s because she was kept a secret from the world, or put in a sort of artificial bubble where she was told everything was a utopia, it doesn’t matter. She seems largely unconcerned with things such as politics and morals, but that is perhaps because she has not developed her opinions beyond what she’s needed to know her entire life.
This normally sweet girl, however, is more than capable of having a dark side. Although her neural jack allows her to better interact with her suit, Berserker, it also allows information to be blocked, modified, and even sent into the user. Through a mix of taking advantage of the previous fact, plus what some would call “brainwashing,” creates a rather formidable personality once Zina and Berserker are essentially one. Gone is her childish naiveté is replaced by absolute loyalty to her country and ruler, but, most importantly, the Communist cause and struggle. Her innocence is replaced by an unnatural coldness, allowing her to commit unspeakable acts. She listens to all of Drachma’s great people, but only follows the orders of a select few. Her voice, modified when played through speakers, is deep and ominous, intimidating those that don’t know what’s inside the metal shell. Even if they do, it might only serve to be that more disturbing, knowing such a young, naïve girl is being implemented as a weapon.
After she disconnects from Berserker, she has a very vague sense of what she’s accomplished (or has been told that she’s accomplished), but doesn’t remember the specific details. This, however, doesn’t seem to bother her too much.
LOVE:
Teatime, playing, imagining, her adopted family, and Communism
HATE:
Spinach, bugs, “icky-stuff,” being treated as a child, Nationalist scum

HISTORY:
Zinaida Tarasov was born on March 21, 199 in the city of Moscow, Drachma. Her parents, for many years, had been trying to provide an heir to their fortune, to keep the family tradition going in Drachma. And though they were happy that they had a sweet daughter in their life, they couldn’t help but note one fatal flaw in their idealistic world: Zina is albino. Something that they had been planning, something that had to last, something that had to be perfect, was instead visibly imperfect. Still, in the girl’s large, pink eyes they saw life, emotion and wonder, and being a Tarasov, she was still worthy of carrying the Tarasov name on.
Zinaida, as it turned out, would go on to leave a particularly sheltered life. Perhaps the small seed of shame planted upon her birth had grown to something larger, or maybe they saw her as something small, weak, and in need of protection from all of the world’s harm and evil. Regardless, the extent of human contact amounted to a Cretan and Xingese nanny, her parents, a handful of teachers, and a few family friends.
Over the course of her short life, she was trained in many things. From her nannies, she learned both Cretan and Xingese; her Cretan is in a Northeastern accent, while her Xingese is a southern dialect. From her teachers, she learned many things, from grammar to fine arts, math, piano, and many other things. Her social skills are perfect, and very refined, as one would expect for being the daughter of a high-class, well-off family.
Still, much in her life was sheltered. She rarely went outside, and when she did, she was always bundled up and under close watch. The idea of “playing” was a mere concept, a dream at which she had yet truly achieve. Sure, playing tea time with the nanny could be classified as playing, but the nannies didn’t really put much effort into it. After all, they never bothered to pour Mr. Snugglebottoms any tea!
Still, as she got older, the world became harder for her parents to shield her from. It started small, with a few dissatisfied individuals, but the growing dissent had reached even the heart of Moscow. All that was standing between Drachma now and totally civil war was its ruler. But, soon enough, that time came. And when it started, all the dissenters seemed to come out of the woodwork.
Zinaida and her family were safe for some time. Kicking money back to police and guards helped keep the area safe, but they too were eventually consumed by the revolution in some shape or form. And that’s when her bubble collapsed violently.
She woke up startled, the fire alarm wailing through the halls and room of the house. Hastily putting on clothes, she opened her door, only to be greeted by flames and smoke. Lots of noise was coming from the downstairs: glass breaking, wood splintering, people fighting, guns shooting. With tears in her eyes she ventured forth, trying to find her parents in the home that was slowly being eaten away. Soon, though, even the looters had vacated the building, leaving only the sound of the fire, the collapsing house, and Zina’s voice to fill what normally would be silence. Failing to find her parents, and sensing that the house would soon be collapsing, she started to make her way out of the deteriorating house, but was caught under some rubble before she could make her escape, and fell unconscious.
When she came-to, she found that she was in the care of some of the revolutionaries, seeing her as just a little girl and not a member of the elitist nobles who sought to tread on the backs of the workers.

TRIVIA:
→ Drachman, Amestrian, Cretan, Xingese. When she’s in Berserker, she also talks in bold of the appropriate color.

ALIAS:
→ Izzy
OTHER CHARACTERS:
→ Isabella Galicia, Viktor Stalin, Dietrich
CREATOR'S COMMENTS:
→ Ideally, “normal” Zina will be rather naïve and childish. I realize this might not be normal for a 12-year-old (that, or I was a rather strange 12-year-old back in the day), I do it because I like irony (innocent naïve child personality versus uber-Communist war machine personality), and also to reflect her rather sheltered life.
→ For the record, her mechanized suit will be further explained in its equipment application. I only mention it here because it’s part of her character, and I figured some things were important to note.
→ I’m aware I didn’t state the exact state of Zina’s parents at the end of the history (where she was left alone in the house). I’m not going to tell you, because I prefer to keep it a mystery.
