Taras' Displacement

CASE FILE: Transmutation Equipment

→ The Basics
→ The Displacer
→ The Defender
TYPE:
→ Alchemy: Basic
→ Alkahestry: Range Enhancement
→ Alchemy: Basic
LEVEL:
→ Two
FORM:
→ Due to Human Transmutation, there are no Alchemic arrays on Taras' person.
→ The Alkahestric arrays are tattooed on the palms of his hands, but do not require contact with the object to work.
→ The Alchemic array is tattooed onto his chest, though it is only on his chest for posterity--it can work anywhere on his body.
...........................................................................
BRIEFING:
→ The Basics are just that; basic. In fact, they are so basic, they are a part of an Alchemic recipe that has not changed ever since the conception of Alchemy itself. There are three basic steps in Alchemy:
Comprehension → Destruction → Reconstruction
This is all that Taras' 'Basic' Alchemy is. He can't do anything fancy, just take apart molecules and put them back together--the one unusual factor of this Alchemy is, however, that in exchange for being able to do this with any material (that is either inorganic or organically inert--aka dead), the Reconstruction of the material's atomic structure will be exactly the same. If he deconstructs a sword, he will reconstruct the sword in exactly the same way. Same for a door, same for anything else. The more complex the structure of the object, the more time it'll take for him to reconstruct it--though this time is measured in, at the most, milliseconds. Another unusual trait of this Alchemy is that the object reconstructed doesn't actually appear to be Alchemically-made, unless very closely inspected for faults. The reconstruction is never perfect, though it's damn close.
→ The Displacer is slightly more complex, but in saying that, also extremely simple in concept. As with the rest of his Alchemy, The Displacer depends on the basic three levels of Alchemy. Using Range Enhancement Alkahestry, Taras will then insert a fourth step into this chain. This changes it to:
Comprehension → Destruction → Translation → Reconstruction
(translation meaning moving from one location to another)
This allows Taras to deconstruct an object, move it to a location relative to his body, and reconstruct it once more at that position, exactly how it was before he deconstructed it. This process can allow for up to three seconds in order for Taras to move and decide a location, and is visualized in his mind by a circle with him at the centre. Until he decides to move its location, the object will remain inert as Taras moves--he can choose to move it before or after he moves, depending on the situation he's in. Once he has chosen a location, the object is rebuilt, looking exactly how it did before he destroyed it.
→ The Defender is a secondary function to Taras' Displacement Alchemy. At times, knowing that something is coming is not enough for Taras to be able to quickly react to it. This is an Alchemical failsafe that is capable of activating his Displacement on a moment's notice. Although he has the power of Human Transmutation, he doesn't quite have the necessary speed to readily react to situations such as this.
Due to lack of cognitive process, only that which is touching his body and also activates the failsafe will be displaced. For example, if Taras is holding an apple in his right hand, and is at that moment hit with a ten foot long pole, then the region of that ten foot long pole that hit him will be displaced, but not the rest.
In order for an object to be recognized as a threat, it must be moving at a relatively high rate of speed--this is so that the kinetic energy can be used as energy of its own, as well as to stop all items that touch Taras' body from being displaced. Items that are displaced are moved to their exact location, but behind Taras, remaining at original velocity and trajectory. This makes standing behind him dangerous in battle.
Also, not all of the potential damage will be nullified. Take a bullet, for example. Although the bullet's primary source of damage--the collision--will be nullified by way of displacement, Taras will still potentially take damage from other factors, such as the heat build-up from friction, and the rush of air that tries to refill the space left by the round. Therefore, only the kinetic collision damage is nullified by this Alchemy.
The greatest weakness posed by this is that it cannot displace more than one kilogram of mass in a second. This means that Taras can still be easily gunned down, or taken out with heavy weaponry. It's just more difficult to do so. It also cannot displace living organic matter, meaning that punches aren't so easily defeated.
PICTURE:
- Displacement:
Each circle is approximately ten centimetres in diameter, located on each of Taras' palms. They are inked in at a slightly darker color than Taras' skin--so you couldn't see them from a distance, but if you actually looked you'd find them.
- Defender:
The circle is approximately thirty centimetres in diameter, located upon the very centre of Taras' chest. It is tattooed in an ink that is slightly darker than Taras' skin color, making it visible if you look closely enough. Since he doesn't tan, it is very rarely hidden.

SPECIAL ABILITIES:
→ Basic: Allows Taras to transmute any dead or inorganic material, no matter the shape, size or complexity. The trade-off is that he cannot change its shape, and he takes longer to reform it, the more complex it is.
→ Displacer: Allows Taras to displace objects, using a mixture of his Basic Alchemy and Alkahestry. It uses this Alkahestry to insert a fourth step into the process of Alchemy, allowing him the ability to move and reform objects without them appearing as if they were Alchemically modified.
→ Defender: An Alchemical failsafe that protects Taras from kinetically-charged objects by displacing them to the other side of his body, on contact. Doesn't negate all of the potential damage, just the damage that would've been taken on impact.
